I just bought the 6d mk2 in 2021 after I decided to upgrade from my 2000d (t7). Truth is that 2000$ was indeed a bit steep for a camera missing some key specs, but it seems that canon readjusted its pricing, which means that you can now buy it used for just 800$ (like I did). It's great value for money when your priority is image quality over all else.
I gave tumbs up to this video, because of reviewers who shitted so hard on this camera, it's became possible for people, who are not spoiled, to get this nice tool for halfa price 😊
I’ve gone from 70d to the 6d mark ii with a kit lens. The kit lens is the only downsize for me as I already had a 24-105mm f/4 L. The kit lens I sold with my 70d to invest in another L lens. At the end of the day, you get a cheaper full frame camera with the 6d mark ii to get the user a feel of which way to go in the future- full frame or A-psc. Canon know exactly what they are doing. if you want more, you go to the 5d or back to the old 6d. or in your case, you seem to mourn the 80d which is an excellent choice for video and low light shoots. I tried before I bought. Remember, there is no all round camera. If there were, the market would grind to halt... It’s a business, first and foremost. What you get out of it is what you invest in it. Learn to use your tool til you kill or tire of it. Since 1st of December I have been satisfied with my 6d mark ii. I owned the 70d from 2014. And eventually wore out the rubber ring around the PASM, etc. Got it renewed then sold it. Unless they improve and upgrade drastically the 7d, then the 5d mark whatever will eventually be the way to go or a 90d which will have to include 4k for example if Canon want to stay in the game... But of course, as of Jan 2019, it is only a murmur that the next Canon Apsc will be a 90d or mirrorless with / 4k.
Ah Daniel , most of the gripes you mentioned won't be an issue to most camera buyers , DSLR buyers especially. No 4K no problem , only my smartphone can play 4K, one SD , my 5 year old Nikon D600 has 2 & my Canon 600D only one & both uhs 1 SD ,but seriously it's not an issue & both max out at 1/4000 sec shutter speed ,very rarely a problem . Canon has probably the best user interface of any Camera manufacturer & touchscreen makes it like the 5D Mark 4 quite a enjoyable thing to use. Add GPS which is great for nature, landscape & travel photography . Let's take the DR argument which is another great online Canon gripe , as I understand it it's only behind at base iso , as you move up ISO thing get a little different, also I believe in the same way a 5D Mark 4 can out do a Nikon D810 but not at base ISO . Again the low pass filter argument put for example like a 5D Mark 4 against a Nikon D810 with no low pass filter & the difference despite 6MP in Nikon favour is only a slight one for Nikon. So I would think that the internet & You Tube usually explains pretty poorly all these things & to be quite frank I'm over Canon bashing. If Panasonic want to put 4K in everything & you feel you need it because it's in many other camera too then just go buy it & maybe Canon can knock off a few Euro for a load of features many ,many people don't need. This could go on for ages but I finish off with 👍👍👍 for your assistants & video
I downloaded the files and edited the darkest raw file which is almost completly black. After editing the image looks like it was made on a rainy day other than that it looks totaly usable for sharing. Those negative dynamic range comments are not fair. I have the mark iv and am thinking of buying the 6d markt II as a back up.. What do you think Daniel is it a keeper? or would you rather have a second mark iv?
You forgot to mention it's the worlds first full frame DSLR with a full articulated screen , focus points have gone from 11 in the 6D to 45 and all are cross types , better view finder coverage than the 6D , better colour Dept ..
I have no use for APC cameras. I have owned a few and then the 6d, 5d mk2 and mk3 now the 6d mk 2 and it is a great camera for my use. My favorite so far but I still kept the 5dmk3 A bit heavy so sits mostly on the shelf. Don't give a damn about 4 k if I did I would purchase a true video camera
As it looks like I'm not the only one in the opinion that a DSLR is mainly thought and build for taking pictures. Meanwhile it's really annoying that everyone reduce a FOTO camera just on creating 4K videos. Is there nothing else than blogging??? I'm personally very happy about my 6D Mark II. Lot's of tools you can use for photographs! Especially the flip monitor and the app connection to my mobile is something that beats everything on the market! Neither Sony nor Nikon have something that has only a spot to compete with that. Nevertheless thanks for your review.
You are right. That‘s what I‘ve said at the end, that the camera is mainly for taking photos. However, if all the phones and other cameras are capable of taking higher resolution videos than a camera for 2.000$, Canon does something wrong. Daniel
The 6D mkii and the (refurbished) 5D mk iii are exactly the same price right now. Can we get an in depth comparison between them? How's the 1080 quality of them both look? How about the DR? I'd love to see the high ISO in video with them shot side by side :) The Dual Pixel AF system on the 6D mkii is AMAAAAZING, and the flip out touch screen could be really beneficial. and the 60 fps is great... But, and it's a big but the 5d mkiii has access to a magic lantern hack that allows stunning 4K and 14 bit raw video recording that's right up there with the ARIA cam AND it can shoot in 60fps with this stable hack enabled. I think we need a side by side comparison. Thanks!

I already made a comparison between the new NIKON D7500 and the new CANON 6D MARK II, go to check it to my channel, I put the link of the video here! ruclips.net/video/cVnJExBp6KQ/видео.html It is a very useful video because you can see the capabilities of each camera. My major gripe with the 6D2 is that the autofocus points (from the 80D) are clustered around the center of the frame. I always seem to need to focus and move. I do love the articulating touch screen video. Didn't think I'd like it as much as I do. Dual SD slots would be nice but if there were a single slot, I wish it were a CF card....
Just another complaining reviewer who doesn't want to give any credit to the 6D Mk II because he has heard it sucks. The Dual Pixel with the 26MP and the 45 point all cross type focus points and the increase to 6.5 frames per second is just glossed over for the lack of 4K video and the harping on the lack of professional features like the two card slots. The original 6D didn't have this, so why expect it here? You also can't rag on the lack of a joystick, as the 6D didn't have that feature either. The GPS has two modes now so that the battery won't drain when the camera is turned off. That feature was totally ignored in this review. All in all I think this review was lacking in tone. It just seemed like the camera was not looked at in a good light. All in all, I just thought it was a ho-hum review that could have used a little optimism, as this is a really nice camera and has a lot of upgrades that make it a worthy competitor for the current market.
+Nunya just another complaining reviewwatcher who does not see that people can expect a tiny bit more than a fast AF system of the 80D put in a 6D2 on a full frame sensor that does give you the same speed but compared to the 80D less opportunities to place a single AF fiel across the sensor, or a joystick that would make it so much easier to control this camera and a GPS feature which is nice but not worth talking about for five minutes. Camera great for photos, crap firmware (more the moment), bad low light performance on RAW files. I expected a bit more after 5 years!!! That's it.
It shows that it takes you five minutes to read two short sentences, Were you able to comprehend them? I'm betting not. Here's one more sentence on the GPS, it works a lot better than on my 6D. The autofocus points work a lot better than the 6D, but you are going to look at the fact that it's not good enough for you, even though it is an upgrade, just like the dual pixel autofocus which you really can't say enough about as it's the best single upgrade this camera got. You want to stress the ability to share low quality images through social media on a full frame camera, and you think that is more useful than GPS on a full frame camera? I don't know many people who buy a full frame, $2,000 camera to send pictures of their cat to their friends at low resolution, but you may. DxO Mark scores this camera as I saw it in high ISO, and that was one of the best ever. I'm sorry you didn't look at this camera in the light that it needs, with your eyes open. Crap firmware is a cop out statement for trolls. Like I said, the joystick is reserved for the cameras with the professional moniker, and as much as you want to think it's for professionals because it costs a little bit more than you want to pay, that is not the case for a full frame Canon camera. They don't come cheap, just because you think they should. The thing that this camera brings to the table is the tilt/flip screen, and that is a feature that many people are wanting in the professional camera's as well, which again, this camera is not.
Nunya totally agree - I'm a hybrid shooter - this camera definitely can be used on a lot of my professional assignments. I love the video it produces - the flip screen and AF are very important to me.
@@nunya7027 hey! , I'm planning to get the 6D mark 2 by Jan 5th 2k19.. do you think I'm doing the right decision? And, my mains are Portraits, event photography and landscapes.

Hey ! Hi Daniel, I've 80D with me and Considering the Fact that 6D ii is a Full-Frame would you suggest 6D ii has a worthy replacement ? I'd shoot Videos More than Photos. Thanks a lot for the review.
Hello, get the 6D Mark II, if you require a better low light performance, a tilt-type display (you have it already) and a slight more dynamic range. As you are already a 80D user, I would not upgrade, unless for the full frame. That`s it.

opinion: I want to upgrade to full frame from my 70D, but the 6D2 seems to have too much compromise for the price difference. It has got just a slightly bigger sensor and no other real benefits for double the price. I would expect far more superior technical image quality, the shutter and flash sync speed is a drawback, and I would like to have dual sd-card slots. 4k sucks in the 5d4 too so I don't really worry about it, but the 5d4 would been more superior in built quality, resolution and speed.

Dude Could you please give some sample image of nightscene or Low light situation with it's high iso cr2 please. I think a lot of customer or canon user can't discuss more than remarkable feature of 6D for most people expected on it.
Very nice produced review. I would advice you only improve audio quality. Because it makes the most difference between a more professional review and yours.
Video samples at night look great. I shoot 1080p on my D750 and like the full frame look Im not really fussed about 4k to be honest. I'd like a 6D MKII for the AF and flip screen - also the digital stabilisation could come in handy for some situations.
Hallo Daniel . After Such a long wait I believe Canon shooters deserved a better package. What the 6D mArk II offers is what the competition has been offering for the past 3 years and that same competition is way cheaper : I can mention the Nikon D750 or D610 that all have dual SD card slot s , headphone jack and a tilt screen for the d750. Few things seriously annoys me with this camera : 1. No Headphone jack whereas the 80D (cropped sensor) has one . 2. For $2000 not even a 100% viewfinder ? is that a joke ? 3. No dual SD card card slots : at that price ? Really ? The Nikon D610 or D750 are all cheaper , as fast, and offer almost the same , and they are all 3 years old cameras and cost all less than $1500. I would recommend anyone (pro or semi pro especially ) to buy a 5D Mark III that is still a terrific camera and cost the same . The 6D mark II is so not future proof, it's a poor value. By the way : The nikon D810 now cost around $2300 !
"But if you look at canons compeditors like panasonic, you get 4k on a camera that cost 1/3 of the canon eos 6dmark II" True, but these cameras doesn't have a FULLFRAME SENSOR! There is NO entrylevel FULLFRAME camera (less than 2000€) with 4k yet!
Perhaps you also heard how many D750 has shutter issues. The camera was called back officially 3 times for the shutter and once for a reflection in the image (which they did not fix). Still consider it a reliable camera?
Hallo, I totally agree with you. I‘m selling my 6D2 because there has been no firmware update till now for the RAW files and they really suck during the night. Apart from that I hate the focus field which is to much in the center for a full frame camera. Daniel
ruffdraft I have owned a D750 for 3 years it's fantastic as a stills camera I can't praise it highly enough also the 1080p has to be the most underrated video as I love it's quality. But I want a 6D mkII for the AF and touch focus - for my work that will be do handy.
It's just a matter of how you hold it, looking good or looking bad. The way you hold the camera also has an impact on the image. The better you hold the camera, the less shake and better images. Shooting at high shutter speeds is not always possible.
+Jan Karlsson for me it's a great backup body for, as you have mentioned it, with all my lenses and photography. There are a couple things that I expected this camera to have, but Canon waits for the next version.
You do know that 6D2 performs better than 5D3 right? Basically everything is better than 5D3 except dual card slots, wider spread of focus points and more weathershield body on the 5D3
Only To Fool The People in the of Touch Screen Now There is Same Af System from old 6d There is no Af point in Side Shameless Canon camera Please don't waste Money

I would expect far more superior technical image quality, the shutter and flash sync speed is a drawback, and I would like to have dual sd-card slots. 4k sucks in the 5d4 too so I don't really worry about it, but the 5d4 would been more superior in built quality, resolution and speed.
abudaabadi Than go for 1dx mark 2.
Hey ! I already made a comparison between the new NIKON D7500 and the new CANON 6D MARK II, go to check it to my channel, I put the link of the video here! ruclips.net/video/cVnJExBp6KQ/видео.html It is a very useful video because you can see the capabilities of each camera. Dedicated to photographers! Thanks
canon 5d3 or 4
Dude Could you please give some sample image of nightscene or Low light situation with it's high iso cr2 please.
I think a lot of customer or canon user can't discuss more than remarkable feature of 6D for most people expected on it.
+Mity Turnnerbold link in the description below. Full of LOW LIGHT shots. Don't know how to make it more obvious in all my videos.
The lack of a second memory slot is kind of a deal breaker. The price has come down to $1200 which makes it attractive for photographers.
Indeed! I saw this. For 12 hundred bugs it seems to be alright. Daniel
Please make a Tight Slap on Canon
Very nice produced review. I would advice you only improve audio quality. Because it makes the most difference between a more professional review and yours.
This camera is only 1200e now.. I say its a great deal
For 12 hundred bugs yes
Video samples at night look great. I shoot 1080p on my D750 and like the full frame look Im not really fussed about 4k to be honest. I'd like a 6D MKII for the AF and flip screen - also the digital stabilisation could come in handy for some situations.
Thanks for your comment. Many greetings,
Daniel
the daniel life what do you think of the stabilisation - do you find it useful.
Few things seriously annoys me with this camera :
By the way : The nikon D810 now cost around $2300 !
good one.
Thanks, Daniel
I would also expect 'at least' 100% viewfinder coverage. If not more ;)
200% :)
i stopped on minute 2:25 .. when he said that there have been bad reviews around the internet about the camera.
Ouhhh. So sorry.
"But if you look at canons compeditors like panasonic, you get 4k on a camera that cost 1/3 of the canon eos 6dmark II"
True, but these cameras doesn't have a FULLFRAME SENSOR!
There is NO entrylevel FULLFRAME camera (less than 2000€) with 4k yet!
hopeless 6d m2 for Professional People
..entry level FF...
Canon Think Professional People Are Fool , Better Way Get Fuji Xt3 far Better than this camera
It should have been cheaper. The Nikon D750 is a bit cheaper and in some cases has more to offer
Perhaps you also heard how many D750 has shutter issues. The camera was called back officially 3 times for the shutter and once for a reflection in the image (which they did not fix). Still consider it a reliable camera?
Hallo,
I totally agree with you.
Cannot help noticing the woman does not even know how to properly hold the camera.
Is that the only concern? Do it better.
Daniel
It's just a matter of how you hold it, looking good or looking bad. The way you hold the camera also has an impact on the image. The better you hold the camera, the less shake and better images. Shooting at high shutter speeds is not always possible.
OK. We would not hold the camera in low light situations like she did, therefor we would have used a tripod.
Many greetings,
Daniel
Why buy this Camera?
If you not have many lenses look at ANY other brand.🤔
For this money you only get a good looking camera 😯😢
+Jan Karlsson for me it's a great backup body for, as you have mentioned it, with all my lenses and photography. There are a couple things that I expected this camera to have, but Canon waits for the next version.
overprice camera! should cost much less (1500$ )
+Arash Fayyaz the price is already dropping a lot. You‘ll get get it for 1.500$ soon!!!
Canon has failed with this camera, 5D3 MUCH BETTER, Time to Shift to Manufactures Who Dont give you A taste of Software.
not worth Buying,
+Michael Dande I agree. Thanks for sharing your opinion.
Daniel
Danke schon
You do know that 6D2 performs better than 5D3 right? Basically everything is better than 5D3 except dual card slots, wider spread of focus points and more weathershield body on the 5D3
Yes 6D2 Is over all a better camera. Especially if you are into video work.@@KK-ch8qi
Nothing new
+AKlaas van Dalen yes
Please don't slow down the video like this.
+Tanissotony blub
Only To Fool The People in the of Touch Screen
Now There is Same Af System from old 6d
There is no Af point in Side
Shameless Canon camera
Please don't waste Money
It's Crippled it's Not Canon
6D MK II BAD SENSOR !!
+Jerard Jackson the sensor is not to bad, it's the fact that they used the AF system of the 80D on a full frame camera
Still going to buy the 6D 2. ;)
It is clear that you never used a canon 6D or 6D2 to say that ...
