I just ordered a Pocket 3 yesterday (here in Toronto) and hope to bring it to England perhaps in Autumn, around London. I was originally going to bring my Sony a7C which I would have mounted on my Weebill S gimbal, and which would have made for a sore forearm fairly quickly! Obviously, it's going to be the Pocket 3 instead. If they keep advancing cameras like this, it may be time to quickly sell our bigger, more expensive cameras, before they quickly lose their resale value!
Some how, you have out lived all the other camera channels, same vibe, new year, new camera... and we are all the better for it. Defo an impressive camera.
I've been going down a rabbit hole on this DJI Pocket 3 after a coworker got one. It really is well suited for vlogging purposes and capturing solid quality video footage. For the majority of users its probably a good fit for their needs.
Finally the review I was waiting for. Good to see a small pocket camera compete with the bigger more expensive stuff, but a lot of people who travel places will switch to it from their Go Pro's and Action 4's, and the Pocket 3 blurs the background where you can no longer read street signs and see details from the background that you'd normally enjoy seeing as they walk and talk with their older action cam or phone. The same extremely blurring the background was also on the new iPhone15, I hope the travelers don't pickup these cameras and walk around in a blurry background making travel vidoes, I prefer sacrifing the quality of focus on the mites having a party on the vloggers face to get a clearer background. Thanks for the late review ;)

(5.4 vs 8.2 equivalent aperture) i remember most people here in the comments of this channel have considered the pocket 2 to have a sharp background, but not the 3 of course. people usually try going the other way to blurry backgrounds, so it's difficult to think of a video where someone tries to make it sharper
Your review is the best among the thousands of pocket three videos I have watched, after this detailed review I’m so convinced to go ahead and buy pocket three.Thank you and have a good day and night
Pretty impressed with the Pocket 3. I didn't think it would hold its ground so well against the big boys. It would be even closer If DJI didn't use such an aggresive oversharpening but pretty impressive overall.
My wife works at a university, managing some of the conference rooms. They had been using cameras and ipads to film lectures and discussions, but it was messy and confusing. Then this came out just when they were about to order new Apple stuff, and they went all in on DJI. Not all the lecturers or assistants are computer or camera savvy, but they found this very easy to use.
Agree for vlogging the OA4 (or GP) much easier if any significant movement or of course anything that might be considered action (biking, packrafting etc), but casual recording for just about anything else the OP3 tops it. Great actually. Not the best for studio work but it can still work well enough. So your cameras might be needed for studio work, certainly any zoom stuff and if you decide you want to be a photographer some days. It looks like a great tool for a lot of uses. Btw R8 does still look nice!
Curious to know whether you used the low light mode for the low light shooting on the Pocket 3 for those low light shots you showed? IME the low light mode on the Pocket 3 is complete arse. On the other hand, if you put it into normal mode, turn the noise reduction off and the sharpening to zero, and run in max 1600 ISO, I've found the low light performance of the Pocket 3 to be pretty incredible!
What is the scenario when 1600 is enough? In bright indoors? Not for my cases. Up to iso 3200 you don't need to use the low light mode. If you go into even darker places, then the low light mode is very useful.
Yes I agree with you w from what I’ve seen on reviews. I think it looks better when not in low light mode. I even asked on reviewer which he thought was better and he got all mad for some reason 😂.
I think the background separation of the Pocket 3 is perfect for vlogging, where the viewer actually want to see the environment, just not as sharp as the foreground.
Such a great video and your personality is is just fun, the video is of course based in video quality, so is the best video a saw until now, thanks you man
I couldn't agree more. Prefer the full frame image, but the stabilisation is so good and it is so small and easy to use that it is now our main vlogging camera!
That video is incredible👍 the effort you have gone to show the comparisons is the first one I’ve seen done. I purchased one a few weeks ago and have to say I love it. Keep up the great work from a new subscriber 👌👌👌
First time seeing your channel. You are awesome lol so sp funny and the way you narrate it keeps you watching. Amazing functional video pocket camera for sure. One thing I noticed is the background was way clearer than the other cameras. I don't know about the focus settings and modes in each (never used any of those models) but even the more expensive ones had the blurry background. And also in slow motion. So I don't know how, but the DJI Pocket 3 managed to have a clear shot of your head and you could see what was in the background. Not so subtle difference. Also the stabilization of the small gimbal I think is superior to practically any other camera without gimbal, not comparing it to professional gimbals of course. And the face tracking or rotation of the camera is something you can't phisiically do with other cameras if you don't move it manually. Cheers
No, the Nikon Z30 is horrible. It loses focus all the time, the stabilisation makes the image more jerky and the exposure flickers a lot. It is a horrible little camera.
Being so full of humour throughout your video, you was in the end so serious in your judgements. Love it, great! And I totally agree with you. Dji has put magic in our hands. Till today I have not seen any RUclipsr who was courageous enough to do this comparison. And to be so honest to give the pocket the 1st prize overall. Most other RUclipsrs are probably afraid that they would no longer be taken seriously if they simply communicated the results of such an experiment. Many people probably think that anyone who holds up such a small camera like that cannot be a professional. And in doing so, they ignore the truth. Thank you for not caring and being a fighter for the truth. Victory!
I am quite literally waiting for Best Buy to open this morning to run and finally buy the Pocket 3 today. LOL I loved my Pocket 2 and they improved this so much!!
It’s pretty rugged, I just took it on a two month overland / camping trip and it’s pretty banged up, but still working great. Even got a little light rain on it a few times and it didn’t bat an eye.
funny thing is watching in 720, which most ofthe planet does, there is almost no difference. At 1080 you can see a difference but it does make me rethink all the cameras i thought i needed. All of these sonys, canons, panasonics that i've not been able to buy,- not a single one- are not the most relevant thing anymore. This also explains why some yourube channels i have been watching have improved their quality lately. They didn't get a clue about production values, they just got a newer camera.
You're awesome :) I've been watching your videos for years and it's nice to see you grow your audience! Keep them coming, and keep the cool personality, you're gonna go far! :)
Would love to get your views on the HLG on the pocket 3 as your findings on the lack of dynamic range on D log compared to normal mode has really thrown me. I’m going to test that out.
I love your vlogging humor and the attention to detail. Your personality draws the viewers in and I found that I was compelled to keep watching because of your interesting and very humorous take on everything. I feel that you are fair in your reviews but there is certain things I love/dislike about all of the cameras. I feel that the vlogging footage from Action 4 is a better all rounder, while the DSLR is better for studio setting. The other DJI pocket 3 is way too fragile on the gymbal head and could break easier. The Insta360 Ace Pro I'm not sure.
Your white hat was a perfect choice. The dynamic range, that white was nice on DJI pocket 3. Wow, even 3 x times more expensive Sony was beaten, with only one exception, i don t remember which one was it. Too bad I can not wait for DJI 4 to be release.
As someone who has been shopping to buy a new camera for months. That was hands-down, one of the most entertaining videos I’ve ever seen. I laughed out, loud many times. Thoroughly enjoyed that. Thank you kindly sir. I still need to decide if I want to get the camera that beat all the cameras. I’m still just looking for something to do Head, what would you recommend for that? I was thinking Sony Zv e1 w/ 16-35 ?
14:46 This presents it perfectly and it's why I leave my P3 in Normal color. CLOG is so easy to grade as well.....saving a few more pennies for that R8.
What microphone were you using for the DJI outside and inside? Did you have to do any post work for the audio? It sounded great. What about any Bokeh for the DJI?
This was fun :) I also dread using Catalyst browse, not only was it slow but my testing showed it softened the image upon export, and it wasn't just the 5% crop, their rendering engine is slow and bad. I switched to Gyroflow and haven't looked back, the OFX plugin for Resolve means I can stabilize right in timelines as well without going to an external application.
So what about the fact that the Dji osmo pocket 3, not being waterproof ? That is a big disadvantage , especially with the amount of rain we have had in the UK
The craziest thing is that I remember when I watched your first video about the DJI POCKET 3, you were talking about the hype and specifically remember you saying you would hate a camera gimbal because of the drifting it does lol you even mimicked the way it does with your head hahahah. Now we are here watching you going through exactly what you’ve said you would have a hard time with 😅
Is there a way to make it act like a point and shoot camera? The camera should always be looking forward in one direction without the gimbal engaging in slow panning when physically panning the camera towards something.
fast follow mode with first person video (fpv) mode will do that. why though? in slow follow and horizon lock it's like having a rather good tripod with a fluid head in your pocket
Hey Kasey, I lost my job so I had to sell my Sony A7 iv and pro lenses but needed a camera to continue filming for this channel. I kinda guessed it would do ok filming RC cars but was worried about it coping with my studio product shots. I mean, I can tell the difference, but this is all I need for now until I can afford a full frame "pro" set up again. Check out my last few reviews and see this in action on a motion control slider 😊
The DJI Pocket 3 does very well in exposure and nice colour in good lighting outside compared to the rest. Not so sure in low lighting though. Indoors in studio light the DJI should be mostly fine also (yet a little noisier), but the bigger cameras really excel indoors by comparison. Excellent demo review with side by side comparisons. Much appreciated video. I am impressed with Pocket 3.

Please show us how you got that color in your video with the Osmo Pocket 3. I would love to see a mini tutorial of it. I bought it and want to learn how to make my videos look like yours. Thank you so much for your content.
Thanks for the great video 😊 I’m a beginner creator and I’m currently having an I phone 13 plus pro (might update to the 16 plus pro later this year) and a go pro hero 10. So I was actually only looking for a decent mic and thought of getting the DJI wireless mic 2 system. However after coming across the Osmo Pocket 3 I’m wondering if it would be worth buying it with the creator combo. It would be 300 dollars more expensive than the mic system alone. Obviously the mic system comes with 2 mics a charging case and a receiver which allows to use it on several devices. Would it be worth to get the Osmo pocket 3 with my current set up and is a bluetooth mic reliable enough to use it also later with an I phone or any other devices? Or would it make more sense to save the money, get the dji mic 2 set with 2 mics, charging box and receiver?

Casey you are the best! Made me laugh so many times through this... You're like a good friend I never met :'D
Wow, it's the ideal camera for outdoor vlogging-compact and straightforward! Thank you for taking the time to review it👍👍
If they release a full frame version we're all dead lol😂
It's called Ronin 4D
😅@@trym2121
that's a bit big though @@trym2121
S35 sensor would do the job too imho
Actually, even a crop sensor with good software, would already destroy the majority of all the other competitors IMO 😅
Pretty impressed with the Pocket 3. I didn't think it would hold its ground so well against the big boys. It would be even closer If DJI didn't use such an aggresive oversharpening but pretty impressive overall.
You can reduce the sharpening in the settings
and better zoom
My wife works at a university, managing some of the conference rooms. They had been using cameras and ipads to film lectures and discussions, but it was messy and confusing.
Then this came out just when they were about to order new Apple stuff, and they went all in on DJI. Not all the lecturers or assistants are computer or camera savvy, but they found this very easy to use.
The Canon R8 image is jawdroppingly good.
One of your best videos 😊 very enjoyable
Awesome comparison video, the best I've seen on RUclips, thanks CC!
Totally agree!
What is the scenario when 1600 is enough? In bright indoors? Not for my cases. Up to iso 3200 you don't need to use the low light mode. If you go into even darker places, then the low light mode is very useful.
They should have called it "no light mode".
It's so much more convenient for streaming. Good quality. So much easier to set up than a regular camera and takes up way less space.
@@PensivePixelsbut it is fragile too..
@@saurabh-techie Hardly an issue for my uses. It's always just sitting on a desk, tripod, or held in the hand.
Above all this video is a master class in camera comparisons. I think the Canon R8 had the best slow motion that day.
Such a great video and your personality is is just fun, the video is of course based in video quality, so is the best video a saw until now, thanks you man
Sony A7SIII shrunken into a witches stick? LOL :)
Literally just ordered the pocket 3 creator combo about half hour ago. Your awesome video confirms I made the right choice :-)
Man what a video finally a real world review! I gave up on log D and now film on normal thanks 🙏
I couldn't agree more. Prefer the full frame image, but the stabilisation is so good and it is so small and easy to use that it is now our main vlogging camera!
Hands down the most informative, real-ass, entertaining reviewer in the solar system.... "Focused fifteen years into my past..." lol.
I love my DJi Pocket 3 ... been using it at weddings and it's just fantastic.
0:03 Best opening ever 🤣
What a great (and hilarious) review of the Pocket 3! Best one I’ve seen!
Best comparison video😂 very informative n super fun to watch😂 Thanks for making this video!
Cheers
also unrelated but your running form is IMPECCABLE!
Absolutely Great In-depth Review and Comparisons.
it's almost always a treat to get a notification of your next video. enjoying this PO3 series too especially.
I like the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 + Nikon Z30 the most 👍🏻 At least for vlogging there is no need to spend the extra money!
No, the Nikon Z30 is horrible. It loses focus all the time, the stabilisation makes the image more jerky and the exposure flickers a lot. It is a horrible little camera.
So, if i wanna start vlogging, should i get the action 4 or pocket 3?
Nikon Z30
I'm really having fun with the slow-mo footage
LOL
I loved my Pocket 2 and they improved this so much!!
And acquired!! :D
I think I'll be buying the Pocket 3 for travel later this year. I really wish it was a bit more rugged and weather sealed...
It’s pretty rugged, I just took it on a two month overland / camping trip and it’s pretty banged up, but still working great. Even got a little light rain on it a few times and it didn’t bat an eye.
I've dropped mine twice from waist height, still good.
They have this screen rotation issue though...
wrist straps, wrist straps. came in the box mah man!@@cameraconspiracies
It's fallen off my car window (inside) a fair few times and it's been fine. It has an gimbal protect mode that engages if it detects a violent fall.
I got the action 4, I was shocked how nice it looks. It doesn’t have that action cam look. I have a a7c, g7x iii and others.
funny thing is watching in 720, which most ofthe planet does, there is almost no difference.
The best and funniest review of dji p3 👍👏 thanks
how is your action 4 footage so good? mine is always grainy and noise even in daylight. a lot of artefacts too even in normal conditions
Yet the Canadians have more beautiful people, eh?
Let's just appreciate that he crossed back to the same side of the street each time he starts the slow-mo test.
First time watching, I like this guy, subscribed. Thank you for an amazing review
All time banger of a video, this one
"If you catalyst browse your way through life" lmaoooooo I died
This guy is informative and hilarious. Subscribed!
Best review ! Thanks !
17:45 what's up with the colors in your clouds on the a7siii footage?
Too bad I can not wait for DJI 4 to be release.
your videos are always lay back and chill and fun.
I wish this comment provided more feedback about the video
Slow mo by the Slow Down sign.. just genius! 👍😂
Mantis pod footage was excellent. Huge leap for DJI since my Omso 3 which only came into focus when you could no longer make out any detail 😆.
The slo mo shots are the best.
What you get from the pocket 3 for the weight and price is so much value...
14:46 This presents it perfectly and it's why I leave my P3 in Normal color. CLOG is so easy to grade as well.....saving a few more pennies for that R8.
Feeling like a better Hobo video dude, now my Spongy mic Cover Pocket Camera protector type cover thingy has arrived. Thank you Casey.
I heard TAPs being played in the background for this channel That DJI Pocket 3 is "KING" the Z30 looks good too. Pack up time to go home! 😉
lol bravo my friend you managed to make laugh so many times nothing would kill your humour and channel. Awesome!!
You’re one of my favorite people now.
"An A7s III shrunken down into a witch's stick" 😂 Love it!
What microphone were you using for the DJI outside and inside? Did you have to do any post work for the audio? It sounded great. What about any Bokeh for the DJI?
This was fun :)
I also dread using Catalyst browse, not only was it slow but my testing showed it softened the image upon export, and it wasn't just the 5% crop, their rendering engine is slow and bad. I switched to Gyroflow and haven't looked back, the OFX plugin for Resolve means I can stabilize right in timelines as well without going to an external application.
My dude look cozy af. Not gonna lie. Im jealous, envious of the comfort you seem to on be in.
You finally got it!!!
This is such great fun. I just enjoyed watching you talk to yourself.
Thank you, nice video, entertaining. You're the funniest vlogger I think you're funny. 😂
11:08" you seeing any of that " LMFAO it had me laughing ...
Why don't you have a music channel? I'm constantly impressed by your music. How about an episode of your music?
I do, it just never took off ruclips.net/channel/UCtZqpJDgfWkCOJR70ou674w
@@cameraconspiracies Dude, you're genius. I love that let me fly song.. it came in a dream?
subbed.. Sucks that it hasn't taken off. I have a guitar making channel, the music channels are really hard to get going. , you really do inspire me in alot of ways
Now I have even more content to bing...
Actually crazy good yes as soon as the price comes down
the previous version's price only ever went up until the 3 got released so i wouldn't hold my breath
My DJI make a pocket 4 PRO wishlist:
- full frame
- zoom lens
You had me sold on the nikon but main can't deny how well that OP3 performs.
Please show us how you got that color in your video with the Osmo Pocket 3. I would love to see a mini tutorial of it. I bought it and want to learn how to make my videos look like yours. Thank you so much for your content.
14:44 "D-Log-M": this doesn't look like log... have you graded the footage?
Every time you do Insta360 Ace Pro AI clips it cracks me up 😂
@11:59 why is there less dynamic range in DLOG M ?
Thanks for the great video 😊
I’m a beginner creator and I’m currently having an I phone 13 plus pro (might update to the 16 plus pro later this year) and a go pro hero 10.
One of the best comparison reviews ever. Ure so chill
