    Hello Frank, congrats on your video and your channel keep up the good work!. I want to share my 2 cents regarding the 1DX Mark II camera as a photographer. As a photography camera I want to tell you that this camera is great and it one of the complete photographic cameras out there alongside the Nikon D5 (which came out the same year 2016 as the 1DX Mark II). What is very important is to understand that these cameras are top of the line cameras for speed and press photography. The scope of this camera is to assure the photographer that you have the maximum possible photo quality, ISO speed and autofocus. These two types of "press" cameras will allow you take the photos and give your photos to the client or newspaper on the same day, if you set the correct settings these cameras will give you straight out of them the perfect jPEGs -> that doesn't mean you can't use the raw files, you can edit the raw files however you like. The price of these cameras new were aprox 6000 $ and at that price point you get everything you need at a camera except one factor that some photographers may need which is resolution. These "press" cameras give you outstanding battery life, robustness, world class weather sealing, world class autofocus tracking and autofocus precision and burst capabilities, ISO speed and customization of everything from the camera. The resolution of 20mpx it is something very unique to these two types of camera. It is widely regarded and known scientifically that the 35mm digital sensor produces the best optimal quality of pictures between 12 and 21Mpx -> or maybe pushed to 24Mpx. At this size of the sensor 35mm engineers can make the pixels as big enough to produce great images between 12 and 21mpx and to get great colors and the famous "3D pop". Beyond the 24mpx and this is my personal opinion and experience through the years using different resolution cameras things get "difficult" lets say. At beyond 24 Mpx, lets say 30mpx, 45mpx, 50mpx, etc you need astonishing great lenses to produce sharp images because optical engineers need to design the lenses to cope with the higher resolution, second most important issue is you need to have very sturdy hands because every tiny camera shake will be projected and captured on the high resolution sensor.
    I honestly believe that you cannot compare the Canon 1DX Mark II to the Canon R5 because of the difference in resolution and how will the images will look. You can compare the Canon 1DX Mark II with the Canon 1DX Mark III or the Canon R3, the scope of the Canon R3 is to be the next "press" camera and it has the 24.1mpx sensor.
    You can see the Canon 1DX mark II and Canon R5 as apples and pears, both great but oriented at different photo jobs. I would use and see the Canon R5 as the successor of the high resolution Canon 5DS/5DSR which I am still using the 5DS for product photography (restaurants to photo food menus and wine menus and jewelry) -> where you might need resolution. But for weddings, family portraits, sport events, and so on I am using my Canon 1DX Mark I and 1DX Mark II which produce fantastic pictures and jPEGs straight out of the cameras which are sufficient for both a printed album and also to see the pictures on a mobile phone. Thanks and let me know what are your thoughts. best regards, Rares

    Frank, greetings from Sydney! Your 1DX2 came up on my suggested vids… probably because I have owned one from new since 2018. I love mine. I am a hybrid photo/video user and it has never let me down. A couple of points…
    (a) when used for video purposes, the 1DX2 is actually a mirrorless camera;
    (b) an LP19 battery that is looked after will last all day for photography and several hours for video - you should be able to get a replacement from Canon Professional Services (CPS);
    (c) when you speak to CPS, make sure you get a replacement rubber cover for the microphone/headphone ports… without it, your camera is no longer weathersealed!
    (d) I stopped using the 1080p early on - as the DCi 4K in both 24p and 60p has amazing bitrate and quality, which means you can do far more with it in post…you just need a couple of CFast 2.0 cards;
    (e) talking post production for the DCi 4K… it has always played back perfectly without proxies, needs next to no colour correction and renders in real time in LumaFusion on an iPad Pro - which has been my workflow for documentary and stock video production.
    You have an amazing hybrid camera that should serve you very well. Good luck, enjoy it.

I a los have a nice selection of L Series EF mount lens to take full advantage of the mirrorless cameras you need the R mount lens which in my opinion are very expensive. I will recommend to anyone getting preowned flagship/professional quality bodies and lens over new entry level ones.

    I absolutely love my 1dx mark ii. i'm mainly a photographer. Don't do a lot of videos however the videos i've recorded with it has been amazing. The build was extremely strong. I dropped it once with a lenses attached and the most that happened is bent the track very little. i can still switch lenses and what not with no problem just have to turn it harder. blah. Also I got it for a hella great price since mirrorless is taking over. I got mine with less than 16k clicks for just $2k with box and memory cards and extra battery. The rise of mirrorless is making it more affordable for us to get those dream cameras we've all once wanted and it still be a great camera.

    @quazisanjeed6395 Год назад

    Thank you for the video.
    First, I’m not into videos so, exclude that from the discussion.
    As a stills camera, I’m perfectly fine with my Canon 1D Mark IV that I bought used two years ago with a shutter count of 42k. This camera fires off 10 fps, great low-light and high ISO performance, dual-card slots, 30% more reach with 1.3 crop sensor, excellent image quality and strong durable weather-sealed pro body. A hobbyist wildlife photographer like me must not ask for more.
    And it surpasses the mirrorless cameras with its OVF as I see my subjects and their fast movements at the speed of light. When I anticipate any change in the behavior of a static bird or animal; just lock focus and wait. The moment movement occurs, I fire off a burst thus, capturing the all-important initial moments of the change. As per my assumption; even R3, Z9 or A1 won’t be able to do that due to the pathetic EVF lag.
    Thanks again.

    I used to own the Canon 5D and 1D-series. Now I only have one R6 and one 5DIII. I don't regret switching to the R6. It's a small lightweight camera with excellent autofocus, high iso performance, flipscreen etc. Only downside is the battery life but I can still use my old batteries from the 5DIII. I love the 1D series but they are beasts, made for sport or nature photography, not for casual stuff. Way too heavy, definitely with a 70-200 on it.

    The great thing about the mirrorless R5 is that it has animal eye detection and a lot of other great attributes..however, it’s not established yet….that technology is new. There have been a lot of problems from numerous observations of the new stuff. Now the 1dx goes back over 10 years. The mark ii is established as it has been for 7 years…. I own the 5d mark Iv and the 1dx mark ii. I was tempted to buy the R5 but not yet.. it’s just in my opinion in the testing phase… I would rather get the shots I need from a camera I can depend on. Except for the batterylife i hate this camera. I have it since 2019. Paid a bunch for it. CANON is a shit company. U get no real firmware updates for the camera. Like blackmagic for example who give u more videorecording options time by time. The DR is horrible. Almost every time the lights are blown out. Todays smartphones make better images and videos. I know its hard to swallow. But the most part that really pisses me off, is, the things like a cable to run it out of your socket cost like fucking 500€. I mean WTF. The LP Original 219!!!€ for a fucking battery. Come on thats stupid bullshit. I wanted to stream with this cam. So i bought a China power adapter to run it out the socket. I exploded after 30 minutes. It exploded. The LP works like 2h its okay... if u want to clean the sensor u have to send it to canon and pay 80 Bucks for it. And cause of the mirror you have to do it twice a year. The camera is so fkn heavy. I cant have it in my backpack and run around moke like 1h without backpain. If i could go back in time i wouldnt buy this camera anymore. I woulndt even buy a canon anymore.
    But i was so blinded by Peter amd his beautiful videos. An then u have it and the video quality isnt good. The HD ist shit. The 4k ist okay but ist hard record because its expensive to buy c fast 2 cards and u need a very good pc to edit the footage. The slowmo ist very very good. I dont understand why the normal hd isnt that sharp like slowmo recording😅
    The autofokus is ok, but it just works good when the contrast is good. Nothing compared to the eye AF of todays cameras.
    Because of its size, its nor camera that u take all day with u an use it every time. After a couple of days i felt like an idiot running around with it. Ppl where staring, talking to you.
    But i was as excited as u for the first like 6 Months!

And good luck pairing such optic you you iPhone aha
      This is indeed not a good body for street or holidays photography, but never claimed to be... It is thought to be built like a tank, so you can use it outside no matter weather conditions.
