My daughter took me. for a surprise,to the Pasadena Center for your visit here earlier this year and I was thrilled to have my picture taken with you, and also one with Jenny from the Missouri quilt company. Have made many of your projects and love them. I am 89 years old and projects from you and Jenny keep me alive and alert. I have a Brother 4500D machine and am at it nearly every day. Most of what I make, I give to others but I have the fun of making them. Keep up the wonderful work you do, and know that your efforts are appreciated
I’m so thankful you’re doing this series. I bought my Janome 500e 2 years ago and I don’t use it very much. I would love to take classes at the shop I purchased from, but I have to take my machine. I’m 74 with bad knees, shoulder, etc. This is perfect for me, you are perfect! Thank you😃😃
My dad gave me his embroidery machine and I've been so excited to see what all it can do outside of writing names. This video series is coming at the perfect time. Thank you!
Hi Vanessa you are amazing I bought a sew/embroidery machine 5 years ago never took it out of the box . I truly hadn’t a clue what to do with it . Your video has made me want to learn all about embroidery . I am an avid quilter/sewer and thought embroidery would enhance my projects . Sooo here I am thank you for your helpful videos .Wendy from Regina Saskatchewan Canada
Thanks for this series! I still crack up about how you said that you hate embroidery and would not do it again!! Lol! And then your CGQC members easily changed your mind about that! 😂👍🏻
You are soooo cute!!! Even though I have been a sewist for many years, I love all of your tutorials! You are precise, informative and you keep instructions simple to follow. PS- I loved your "bloopers"!
I have a Babylock Spirit and have been learning as I go since March... look forward to your common sense approach to things and being a part of a whole new community of crafting!!
Perfect!!! I do have a Baby Lock Journey sewing/embroidery machine. LOVE it. One day I will sew and on another day I will embroider. I agree 100% with you on hoop size. Cant wait for your next video!!! You are AWESOME!!!
I have this machine and love it. I have had it about 3yrs. I prefer to have a stand along sewing machines and sometimes I have both machines going at the same time. Keep the videos coming.
I just got a combo machine for Christmas . Very overwhelmed. I was going to get rid of my that I have had since 1978. I’m going to really need this series. Thanks
This is going to be so informative and fun! About a year ago I started "the hunt" for information about embroidery machines and quickly realized that I was going to have to learn a good amount of computer stuff. Now you've confirmed this and I know you will teach all the info in your usual terrific way. And now I can wait and see what you present about the machines so I can better make an informed purchase. Anxious for this series!!
Thank you so much for starting this video series! I have been toying with the idea of getting an embroidery machine for years, but didn't think I had the knowledge or experience to even begin to figure out which machine fit my needs best. Based on the intro video, this is exactly what I have been looking for. Thank you for sharing your expertise in such a fun and inviting way. I am looking forward to each upcoming addition! Your hard work in putting these together is very much appreciated!
I have a 12 needle portable commercial emb. machine. It did not cost much more than some of these fancy one needle machines I see now with lasers, and scanners, and all that stuff. But here is the thing: you can load up to 12 colors at once and it goes from color to color automatically. So if you want to make 2 or more of something, you do not have to go back to square one, and change all the colors again. And if a color repeats in the design, it is already on there, and I do not have to reload the color. For me, this is the best deal, and it saves me a ton of time and work. A commercial machine is a workhorse that will last for many many years, thru hours and hours of sewing. I started out with a one needle machine and had to change the thread over and over, and it kept breaking down. Now, I can set up my colors and just go. It is another option out there for those of you who plan on doing a LOT of embroidery. I am not running a business, I just make a lot of things for family and friends, gifts, etc. My machine is a Happy Voyager, if anyone wants to look it up online. Vanessa, I LOVE your videos; they are so fun and I always learn new stuff!!
I made several of your sewing projects, you are so informative and I LOVE watching your inspiring tutorials! I have a Pfaff Creative Performance, have done many many embroidery projects, but I am looking forward to your new series!!! Thank you Crafty Gemini!!!
Hello, I am from Goa, India. I have been doing Machine embroidery since 2009 I have combo's and sewing machine too.Loved your video.Waiting for the other videos. Thank you. God bless.
Love your videos! I got my embroidery machine in Feb.... starting to finally feel really comfortable with it! So excited you are doing these videos now! Signed up for the news letter as well! Thank you!!!
I have a combo machine, and while I would love to be able to sew and embroider at the same time, we have a small space and can only have one machine out anyways so the combo works for our physical space restrictions.
Soooo excited about your upcoming embroidery machine series. Have a Viking Designer Diamond Deluxe. Got sick right after I bought it so missed out on the free embroidery classes. Loving the idea that I will learn how to transfer a design from my computer to embroidery machine and stitch it out! Thanks so much. Excited to get started!
Haha. You're cute! Loved your bloopers section. And may I just add... I can't understand why you would even have ONE thumbs down. I've been watching you for a long time and have always loved your videos. Thanks so much for your hard work! And congratulations on how far you've come with your business! ❤
I had no idea there was a special foot available when I learned to embroider on my old Singer. I learned to monogram my daughters’ clothing by chalk drawing their initials on the clothing or sports gear and simply sewing over it. This makes it so much easier. lol
Thank you Vanessa, Though I am not quite a newbie at machine embroidery, I am definitely looking forward to your video series. I know there is still a lot I can learn from you. I have enjoyed all your video series, you are a great teacher and a wonderful inspiration ! Thank you for all your hard work, keep it up. By the way I hope you had a great trip to Colorado.
Great job with the video and the wealth of information shared. I love your energy! I'm so excited for this upcoming series. I've had a combo for about 4 years that my husband bought, it's limited to a 4X4 hoop which I knew nothing about at the time of purchase and I've been scared to death of the embroidery functions so I'm looking forward to learning so much more. Thank you!
I'm excited for embroidery machine series!! I purchased an awesome combo machine over two years ago, along with the expensive software and I have no clue what I'm doing. lol I'm excited to learn how to use it and hopefully start making the projects I know I can with this machine.
Wow this is perfect timing!!! I'm now starting to do machine embroidery and need all the help I can get. This is perfect.... yeahhhh thank you so much for doing this. I love your teaching style and it will help me a greate deal.
Great info Vanessa! I started out attending an Anita Goodesign event through my dealer, before I bought an embroidery machine. Then bought a machine used at the event at a greatly reduced price. 😉
You are so right about getting a separate embroidery only machine. I got talked into buying a combo machine and after about 6 months really wished I had gotten separate machines instead. Of course now I cannot find anyone to buy my combo machine so that I can buy 2 separate machines.
So glad you are doing this. I needed you to do this a couple of years ago. Luckily I was able to stuggle through. lol. I bought a dual purpose machine, a Janome 11000se. Love it, So looking forward to future tutorials.
Hi Vanessa my son bought me Janome MC for Christmas last year but I was really scared to try it because it seemed like I needed to know so many things. I finally plucked up courage a couple of weeks ago. Disaster - we loaded some images on a flash drive and as it started to sew it was all looking good but then the thread broke, no problem I re-threaded. I then realised it was sewing the wrong design! even though I had resized a chosen one from the flash drive. I think I also made the mistake of buying cheaper thread to practice with - I lost count how many times I had to re-thread. I gave up after an hour. I will not give up, as it was an extremely generous gift, in the UK , it was around £800 but with Christmas etc there isnt the time at the moment to play. Looking forward to your videos. Have a great Christmas and happy new year.
I’m new to embroidery have a Innovis2750D - can’t figure out how to center my work where I want it... LOVE the bloopers and how you are so eloquent in your presentation... thank you!
You are so cute. Love your video's and hope my Grandaughters and Gr. Grandaughters will get interested in sewing by watching your video's. A couple of them have made quilts, but get tired of sewing before finishing a quilt because it takes so long. Your quick crafts will be just the thing to get them interested again. I have a Baby Lock Ellisimo, and love it, but have trouble selecting the right stabilizer to get the finished item look good, so I tend not to use it very much. I make my quilt labels with it, and a few other simple projects, but really want to use it more. I live 45 min. from my dealer, or I would have taken the lessons needed to use my machine, so in some respects, it is my fault for not knowing how to use it. I do watch video's hoping to get the info I need. Thanks for your fun video's and look forward to seeing more helpful and inspiring info from you.
Tried to sign up for the embroidery email, but the links did not work. Copied & pasted and was able to sign up, but never received the required confirmation email. Love what you do!!!!!
You make great videos! This one is so very informative, as are all your videos, but for a beginner like me, you explain them on a level I can understand. I will be following your embroidery videos as I would love to learn how to embellish some of the items I make. How did you get started sewing? You are so informative! Thank you.
My fingers are crossed, as you know, for a 770 under the tree but there is no big box yet.... still, I remain hopeful and I will be taking the class and saving up if Santa couldn't fit it into his sleigh. Your intro was awesome and has me so excited and hopeful that I could actually do this. Since you taught me how to sew and quilt, starting in 2012, and now I am selling a few of my creations, I have high hopes that my customers could soon be seeing their monogram or other cute design on something I make. And don't get me started about how Margaret, Henry and William will soon be having Granny designs on all kinds of things. LOL Thanks as always. This was really well done. Was it edited in the front seat of the car in Colorado?
I've had my machine for a year now and totally just learned something new about the polyester/rayon thread!!! Cant wait for more videos!!!! What software do you use for digitizing??
Thanks for all that you stand for 🙌🏽... If you don't mind answering, what software would you recommend for digitizing? I have Brother pe770... I create my own graffics using Adobe Illustrator and at this point I've become overwhelmed knowing I can't just load my files as is.
Great Video! Can you please explain how you get your design digitized.. Do you send it to a company or can you do it yourself. I sew but after seeing your video i find myself very interested in embroidery. Thank you
Hey, Vanessa, I am going to purchase my first embroidery combo machine. It's for personal use only and will be my first attempt at machine embroidery. I have my eye on the SE625, which is 4x4 and in my price range. Should I bite the bullet and step up to the SE770?
Hello Vanessa, I am new to sewing and have been using a machine from Big Lots my mother in law bought my son 8 years ago... thankfully my husband is buying me a new machine, Brother Simplicity SB3129, for Christmas. However I don't have the money to buy a combo machine. Early on in your video I think I understand that a machine that does free motion quilting can be used for embroidery is that correct? If so will your upcoming videos address that? Thank you very much, I love your videos and look forward to seeing this series.
I have a request, I'd like to make a weighted blanket for my daughter. They are astronomical in price. I'd love to make them but it looks intimidating. A friend of mine has been making hers and has gotten frustrated. A Lot! Please think about doing a tutorial for those of us who need weighted blankets for our special needs kids but are on a budget. Thank you!

That was very informative. l just love your stuff. l think you're super creative and inspiring. Can you please make a diy bag organizer?
You make great videos! This one is so very informative, as are all your videos, but for a beginner like me, you explain them on a level I can understand. Hey, Vanessa, I am going to purchase my first embroidery combo machine. It's for personal use only and will be my first attempt at machine embroidery. I have my eye on the SE625, which is 4x4 and in my price range. Should I bite the bullet and step up to the SE770?

I have a request, I'd like to make a weighted blanket for my daughter. They are astronomical in price. I'd love to make them but it looks intimidating. A friend of mine has been making hers and has gotten frustrated. A Lot! Please think about doing a tutorial for those of us who need weighted blankets for our special needs kids but are on a budget. Thank you!
