i came for the embroidery basic tips, but im staying for the BTS references!! 😄 also i could not stop staring at your hair it is so beautiful and your curls are perfect!!! 😍😍 great video and great explanation of everything!! thanks for sharing 🙂
I recently purchased an embroidery machine. I have never used one so I was desperate for information on how to use. I looked at a lot of videos and this video is the best tutorial on RUclips. It is I very informative and the instructions are clear and easily understood. Thank you.
I have gone to Harbor freight and bought some clamps to use to hold my fabric while I was embroidering. I first used them from the dollar tree but they were smaller. I also used large hair clamps/clips for this that worked.
I have found that the bigger hoops are perfect for not having to re-hoop when your machine only does the smaller size. I have a se400 and a se600 and I use for long names or whatever, 4x6 hoop. I plan on eventually going bigger but I really like sewing and embroidery machine combo. I sew as much as I embroidery. I’ve been following you for awhile because you’re so informative. Thank you .
If you can buy the water soluble laundry bags used in hospitals/ health care centers, these work as a water soluble topping. They feel like regular plastic bag. Keep it in a resealable storage bag untill you want to use it. I cut some off and let it dry out a good bit. It will then behave like the one from sulky:) i have used it for towels and sweatshirts.
I just got my Brother PE800 yesterday. I'm SO HAPPY to have found this video and your channel! Thanks for the wonderful information! Now I'm going to go watch your unboxing and overview of the PE800.
Good tips! The best advice I've gotten is test your design, needle, stabilizer before your project!!! ! Also an embroidery needle in 80/12 is usually the best for almost everything. I do like the cutaway stabilizer too! Also yes, slow down when using metallic threads. I always have good results with metallic threads. Thread stands are great for metallic threads! I do have a high end embroidery machine. After getting an entry level machine, I traded up! Love my Brother Quattro II.
I kno a few ppl that use this machine for their small business but as you start to grow I would most definitely think to up grade if it fits your budget
Now since I have some embroidery under my belt, I decided to go into the bin where I have my stabilizers, mostly in rolls. I took my tear a way and cut in into pieces to work with 5x7 and put them all under my mat and put something heavy as they curl rom being in roll. Now I will be able to just grab a piece and not have to waste time cutting, etc. Also found other stabilizer, so I read about them and organized them too in gallon bags, so all is together.
Thanks for this video!!!! I feel that I’m understanding embroidery better! I’m new to embroidery and it scares me. I went with a very fancy machine. I wish I have got something easier, at least that’s how I feel right now.
The fact that the zipper bag says daechwita D2 and the Americanos in the back 💜🫶🏼🫰🏼 yass queen Can across your video because I got inspired to do BTS designs for ARMY 🫶🏼💜🫰🏼
Thank you for sharing this. I am new and waiting to order my machine. Question. When you talked about testing your tension do I test on the material I will be using or any scrap material?
Just got my pe800 brother in yesterday. So excited I found you. Your amazing with all you tips thank you. Do you have a book with your ideas for this machine
Excellent video, once again! I’m sure you’ve said, but where do you get your extra designs for this Brother machine. If there’s a video for that, please let me know the title so I can watch it. Thank you!
You are so helpful and fun to watch! :) I am doing research into Embroidery machines to see if it is a hobby I'd be interested in and your channel really helped me!
I wish i had a machine with more decorative stitches. I'd like an embroidery machine, but all will come in due time, i suppose. Until then, i can take notes. Maybe i decide i don't really need or want another machine after all ;p Your videos are thorough, thanks for the effort you put into them. :) And you explain very well :) Have a happy new year!
My brother cs6000i has an embroidery feature! I used it on a quilt to jazz up some background fabric before quilting it. But I definitely realized I needed a stablilzer!
If you're talking about embroidering a detachable collar you bought - it's possible but would be a bit tricky for beginners, plus keep in mind that the backside would look kind of messy with whatever stabilizer you use and the underside threads would be showing. Probably easier and look better to embroider hooped fabric, then sew your own collar using a purchased or self-drafted pattern. (ie: www.tillyandthebuttons.com/2021/03/free-pattern-oversized-detachable-collar.html)
Gotta say you are the best thing on RUclips! I have the PE800 and have problems with the thread getting caught up on the thread spool. I tried to find your "Nancy's Notions thread director" online but can't find it on that website - or anywhere! Any ideas? Thanks SO much!
Thank you for this very informative video. I'm just starting out with machine embroidery and purchased the Brother Innov-is NQ1700E. Everything I've learned so far is pretty much from online videos as the store I purchased from is too far away to conveniently take offered classes. I have run into issues trying to download PES files to my computer. When I try to open the files it doesn't seem to like the format. I believe I've found a way around that, but was wondering if I need some sort of software. Everything seems so overwhelming at times and there are SO many opinions. Would you be able to enlighten me regarding the subject of software and/or if there is something I may be doing wrong regarding trying to open the PES files? Thank you for your time and I look forward to watching more of your posted videos.
just learning about embroidering so thank you for your videos! but question, are the machines able to do stump work? or if that’s not the correct term, like 3D where it comes out a little farther than the silk sticking?
Hi and thanks so much for the wealth of information! I purchased my Brother PE800 about 4 months ago and I'm so excited about starting my Embroidery business!!! You are doing an amazing job!!!
I have a Janome 9900 Embroidery/sewing. I also do free style quilting & many other jobs with it. & a 1034D; & J6600 (well built in Japan !)I do like Brother & janome machines. Only thing is the janomes take different size feet. That new serger AirFlow, sounds great due to easy changing colors normally on a serge is a pain ! Always need to up date myself with your reviews. None of my machines will not tolerate using a sticky spray. ?. tried many, just jams up all size needles. any tips?
Thank you for all your tips. I am contemplating getting an embroidery machine and I have a question about the brother pe800. I make full floor length skirts and love putting appliques like flowers on the skirts. Up to this I have been buying appliques and sewing them into the skirts. In your opinion would this machine be able to embroider flowers all over the skirts and if so does the machine come with some good flower patterns?
So for a low pile minky (1.5mm) you would suggest floating it rather than hooping it right? Sorry I just ordered my PE800 and I have 5 days till it arrives and wanted to be sure I understood what you said.
P.S. I’m using minky to make my Daughter and her friends Kpop dolls. This will be my first time with machine embroidery. Luckily I’ve made hundreds of dolls so that is the easy part, just tired of hand embroidery.
Hi I have not use embroidery before ,would you tell me what to set for density on brother sewing machine my it show - and + I am only want medium density Thank you
@@SewingReport haha thank you so much!! I just wanted to know because I like the speed of your embroidery machine because the embroidery machine speed is really fast just when you start embroidering! Thanks for your help!!
Could you help me??? I have had my machine for about 3 months and randomly it started messing up no matter what tension of thread I use. It is just doing a very loose stitch so it’s all bumpy. I can’t figure out how to fix it.
can help me. My Brother in 870 se embroidery machine arrived recently but unfortunately I encountered an obstacle. If I embroider a T-shirt with it, the thread will tangle on the back of the embroidery and grab the fabric and then punch it out. What could be the problem? Could someone help me with this? Thanks

Not every sewist needs every machine or notion on the planet. Do not get FOMO, make what you want to make with the equipment you have.

use non-stick needles, i have janome 12000 and no issues with sticky peel=off stabilizer, glue stick, spray adhesive, or 1/4 inch fusible tapes.
I would love to see you review the singer se9180.
What do you use to wash the towels or any other item before embroider? Or just plain water with no detergent.
