Another great review of George Jones, haven't seen if did his ,,'blues man' story of life and latest song before dying. Another great hit is ' who's gonna fill their shoes' a tribute to legendary singers gone. When you get time watch the tribute to George Jones after passing, will hear hits did with Tammy too. It's truly amazing tribute.

It was big news when George & Tammy got married, had a bady, duets, divorced & anything they did after. Their marrage played out in Country Music by the songs they sang. Even when they denied it, us fans knew better. No matter where Tammy Wynette went or sang with or without George(He missed a lot of shows they were booked together in). Someone would always yell, "Tammy, where's George?" They were considered Country Royalty, the king & queen.
Tammy sang & wrote the song, "Til l can make it on my own". Every song Tammy sings, you can hear the heart brake in her voice.
Truly, there are many who were amazed he lived as long as he did. When Tammy died, a number of people commented that they never expected him to outlive her.
They didn't realize Tammy's lifestyle was just as detrimental to her health. She hid it well. George found a wonderful partner a few years after they split. Tammy found another toxic relationship. I think that says enough.

George lived EVERY thing he is singing about. Imo. Because he lost tammy. Either way. He lived a tuff life for a while. But beat it in the end. He says so in the song. But his drinking first . Is why she lft him. So that didnt help him one bit. Thank GOD he got clean and gave us many yrs of great music

You should find "Daddy Come Home" in which he sings with his young daughter, Georgette Jones, Tammy was there for that. Then years later a grown up Georgette Jones wrote a song for her and her father "You Me and Time".
I sung this song a lot, particularly in my late teens and early 20's. Sometimes when I'd drink and sit alone in my truck listening to music.
Merle had no where near the complexity nor range of which this man possessed..

His Father also was an alcoholic too. I was lucky enough to have him show at thee concert i saw him. Good recap by yourself. It was the reason he divorced so many times too.

Great, every song he wrote was actually his life. Hand picked other songs, didn't even want to sing 'he stopped loving her today' said too sad.. but most of his drinking was his love for Tammy, but she couldn't take it, so on and off whole time, she loved him the same, hard to imagine... I was a kid when hungry around them when home, neighbors
