A lot of people interpret this as being more than just a dream he was having. Like he was dying and what he was seeing was the afterlife. Had he been left alone he would have passed and been Home in Heaven. Either way it's a beautiful song!
This!
That’s the way I’ve always interpreted it. He was dying.
i always thought of it that way he was tired and ready to go home amazing song i can never listen without tearing up
I've been a fan of this song for years, and always thought this too!
Bingo!
I’ve always believed in this song that the “home” the homeless man is talking about is Heaven. If they would have left him alone, he would have died and gone home to Heaven to be with his parents again.
Exactly
I think most people interpret this song that way, but to me it seems like he was hallucinating due to being hungry, Cold, and he was remembering old times with his family. Either way this song is sad lol
Poor homeless old man was about 3 breaths from dying and Craig had to bring him back.
Y'all really need to listen to his The Father, My son, and the Holy Ghost. he wrote the song after loosing his 19 year old son in a boating accident. Listen to the Live Opry version and make sure you have tissues readily available.
Must listen!!!
I definitely agree!!
100% agree. I'm not a Craig Morgan expert but another one of his songs that I really enjoy is This Ain't Nothing - at least I believe that's the title.
This man pours his heart out in that song. He said he’d never sing it again live because it takes so much out of him. Another artist Travis Tritt told him he must sing it again because of how much it would help others as well, or the story goes something like that. It is true though the it’s about his son being gone and he and his wife struggle daily because of it.
The old man was on the verge of freezing to death when he was saved by the concerned gentleman. His soul was going back to his favorite time in his life. I can relate. I would give just about anything to be 5 again
I've told my family that I want this played at my funeral if I have one.
Same...I only told my son that just last week.
He was almost home, home meaning heaven
That was (and is) an awesome song. I always thought about it as he was almost home (heaven) if he had just been left alone.
That’s how I always interpreted this song…the old man was dying.
Craig is an Army Veteran that wound up where we needed him most.
this song is so special, it was when it first came out, but more recently we hear in his Testimony that Jelly Roll credited this song as the one that helped bring him back from the edge and helped him find his savior. there's a video of him and Craig doing this song at the Opry. even if you dont do a reaction to it , please look it up! its lovely.
This song will always remind me of my father. It was popular at the end of his life as dementia took him away. I used to wonder what thoughts might be going through his mind when he was sleeping, napping, or just staring off into space. He was born the year of the great depression and grew up on a small South Carolina farm in the 30s and 40s. I could imagine him thinking back to some of his childhood memories during moments of clarity...memories similar to those of the old man in the song.
I'm sorry for your father passing, but the way you describe what's going through his mind was chilling. What nice thoughts. Bless you! Peace from Northern Michigan!
Craig Morgan has some great music. 'Tough" is a must hear along with "what i love about sunday" "this aint nothing" " wake up loving you" and "this ole boy"
His version of this with Jelly Roll is fire.
This song makes me cry every time. Reminds me of my childhood and how long ago it was. Things were so much simpler then. Since then ive lost my parents, grandparents and a couple uncles. Its been so long since ive seen my parent home it almost seems like a dream.
If you guys haven't reacted to it i highly recommend his song This Ain't Nothing.
Craig is an Army veteran and recently reenlisted at a ceremony at the Grand Old Opry.
Yall....thanks...I love your two's reactions..when I had a hard day at work..1st thing I do..is come home..put my blind ..deaf dog..grand dog...on her leash..let her run in the yard..sit on the porch with a cold beer..and watch these reactions..hoping yall got some new ones..it brings me back down to a peaceful level..and a smile on my face..thank yall for that...62 year old former marine from south carolina
My take is he was almost home, meaning heaven.❤
That’s what I love about Sunday by Craig Morgan is one of his best songs!
My interpretation is that when the homeless man states "I was almost home" is that he means he was hoping to die and go to heaven and that his dream that he was reciting is what he sees heaven as being for him.
The old man was dieing, going home. Some say heaven is that place and time when you were the happiest in life.
"God Must Really Love Me" is another awesome song by Craig Morgan....
I play drums in a local cover band most weekends, this song is still requested a lot and the people always get up to slow dance. It's one of my favorites in our repertoire.
Great song! Asia, my son & I (when he was little) would belt this one out…you can’t help but sing along on that chorus. I think Craig Morgan is a great human, he had a tragedy occur in his life a few years back that I’m not sure I could survive and he wrote a beautiful song about it - “The Father, my son & The Holy Ghost”.
first time I heard this song, I was driving, the imagery painted a picture that I could see, heck I had lived it before, this old man had given up on life here and was on his way home to happier times and better days.... just opened my heart and cut me to the bone and still brings me to tears for all those that are where that old man was, and is now...
I have always took this song as this man was freezing to death in his sleep and was on his way home (to Heaven) to see his family that he had not seen since 1955. Love this and you two.
Love this song so much but it tugs on my heart so hard! Cry every time.
No disrespect, but BJ, your one lucky man to get to see that smile evrryday!
And Asia is one lucky woman to have BJ by her side.
I love this beautiful song just a beautiful story teller I cried all the way through ❤
the two writers were wittness to a man the nashville pd were helping . one of the officers said "once they realized the scenario, he said he was almost home! its a good story by the writer . really appreciate you reviewing this. This is the good stuff and comes from a true event!.
Asia loved watching you smile thru this. 😊
Agreed!!!
They are both sweethearts. Great couple.
when he says he was almost home he meant he was almost dead from the cold and he did not want to be saved..
The smile on your face Asia says it all. Thank you!
This song makes me so emotional. I love this song...
This is a good song. One of my favorites by Craig. My son and I like to sing it really loud in the truck.
Beautiful song. This song always squeezes my heart. Some of my favorite people in Birmingham Alabama is several of the homeless I have gotten to know over the years.
Wish I could do more to help them.
LOVE CRAIG AND HIS MUSIC. THIS SONG IS ONE OF THE BEST I HAVE EVER HEARD AND NOT JUST BY HIM. THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST OF ALL TIME.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
That’s a goodie, bobber blowin in the wind gets me every time. Nice work y’all
Thanks yall. This is one of my favorite songs. Need to listen to "A Lot of Things Different" by Kenny Chesney. Another story.
This is one of my favorite songs! You never know who you might be saving
The smile on Asia's face during the whole song warms my heart.
One of my all time favs.
It doesn't matter what type of music you're into, you just can't deny this song.
Makes me cry thinking about all the old people who were once some one’s baby. Especially the ones at the end.
Heaven must be calling...
All of his music is beautiful! God bless guys❤
Craig himself said this can be interpreted two ways, one being the man almost passed away, or he was remembering Old times, either way it’s a sad song and very moving! I’m so glad you reacted for this! Could you guys possibly react to this Live with Jelly roll?
My favorite song. Reminds me of my dad❤❤❤❤❤
I loved your reactions and comments to Craig Morgan (Almost Home)!❤❤❤❤
I love Craig's song 'This Ain't Nothin'. I think you both will, too.
The father my son and the Holy Ghost
What an amazing song ❤❤❤❤❤
“That’s What I Love About Sunday” and “I Got You” are some more Craig Morgan tunes. He has a lot of good ones but that’s two off the top of my head. Much love❤️
It’s implied heavily when he sings that the guy is going to freeze to death when the guy responds that he would’ve been fishing already if he didn’t wake him up. He was ready to go to heaven to be with his family.
Craig Morgan is imo the greatest story teller musically of our time. You my check out "This ain't nothing" and " The father my son and the holy Ghost" guaranteed you will love them.
Craig Morgan is definitely great.
Please react to his songs "That's What I Love About Sunday's" & "This Ain't Nothin' ".
I really think you'll like them too.
Been a minute since I checked y’all out. Asia still wearin’ Sunshine on her face, and BJ sportin’ that grown-man beard…Props. Nice reaction to some wholesome music. Appreciate your content.
Had not heard this one.... Great tune.
Always makes me cry.
No wanted to die so he would be home below zero spitting rain hypothermia. There’s a video of this song which shows everything he is singing about beautiful song love Craig morgan
If you like storytelling in country music listen to Marty Robins. El Paso, El Paso City, and the third one in the series is Felina(hope i spelled that right.
You guys really need to listen to The Father, My Son, And The Holy Ghost by Craig Morgan he lost his teenage son in a drowning and he left music for awhile and came back with a song for his son. Really hits the heart espically the live version at the grand ole Opera.
I love Craig Morgan and I love youguys,as well.every time I watch one of your reactions feel like I'm just chilling with good.friends.god bless you Asia and BJ and keep am comin.
Boy i love this song
I love you all. You are good people.
I loved it too❤❤❤❤.
Thank you both for all the great songs you have played.
This is such beautiful song……all of his are…😊❤
Hey Asia and BJ. Beautiful reaction, but I believe this Beautiful song carried a much stronger message. I think "home" for the old man means Heaven. As as relived these special moments in his life, he was at peace, dying and ready to go home to be with God. In tears the first time I heard this song.
I love Craig Morgan's music. Please check out "Father, Son and the Holy Ghost. He wrote this after losing his son. "This Ain't Nothing ". "What I Like About Sunday". Masterful storyteller ❤
Craig is so good.
Should see him sing this live with Jelly Roll
jelly roll just sang this song with him on stage and he gave jelly roll a handwritten copy of the song
and they both was crying vary good video to see
The song My wish from Raschall Flats is a great song along these lines.. Love yall's reactions
This song 💘💘 about the saddest song ever!! I love it though, provoking!! Real country music 🥹 remembering how simple life used to be!😢
Great Song, Craig Morgan pretty underrated.
I always interpreted this song as the old man was in the process of dying, from the cold temps, and he wanted to go on. The man who woke him was trying to g to save him, but the homeless man just wanted to go on home. I’m sure we all interpret songs differently.
Another good Craig Morgan song that tells a story I believe you both would appreciate is "This Ain't Nothin'"
Craig Morgan rips your heart out, in the best possible way.
You will love....This Ain't Nothing.....That's What I love About Sundays
Great story teller
Great song
Story telling at its best .Glad yall let it play, thanks.
Like several others have suggested watch "This aint nothin" make sure you watch the music video version. The lyrics tell the story, but that video put it on a whole new level!!!!
I believe he thought he was almost home, as in heaven❤
Awesome reaction
Beautiful song, Craig Morgan is incredible and not heard near enough!
Been checking y'all out for awhile. Finally subscribed
The song did its job!
I can smell that fresh mowed hay everytime I hear that song
He was on his way to heaven
Asia, you looked like you were reminiscing............love it.
The homeless man was freezing to death out in the cold and he just wanted to go home, back to a time when this wasn't his reality, and never have to wake up again to what had become his life. I left home at an early age and sometimes I would get into the tightest jams and I would at these times call my mom. She would hear the pain and sorrow in my voice and would always say, "honey, can't you just come home," which would always steal my heart, because I knew that home wasn't a place---it was where she was at.
One of my favorites.
If you liked this one, I'd recommend the George Jones classic, Wild Irish Rose. It may hit a little harder, I think, but it's on a similar theme.
Please do sing this like you did "I hope you dance". I bet it's going to great.
It is an awesome song. You should listen to "This ain't nothing" from him, if you haven't reacted to it yet.
He was almost home he was on his way to heaven
LOVE this one y’all!! ❤☺️
Please check out Chris Melanson from Canada the song is called Room's For Rent it is the best REAL country song I have heard in a long time it was released in the fall of 2022
great reaction as usual ! His song This Ain't Nothin is even better
He wasn't dreamimg. He was having a near death experiemce. As the Saying goes you see your life passing by as you make the transition to the other side.
we will all go home
