Hi man i hope you see this comment ive been subscribed to you for about 2 years now and ive learned everything about acoustic guitars from you and im really struggling to learn one song and alot of people want to learn this song but there is no tutorial on youtube for it only one and the guy is charging 5$ which i and many others dont have
The songs name is: thats the way it is
Its a song from red dead redemption 2 can you please make a tutorial on it. If you do it will really make my life its the one song im really passionate about learning but its unbelievably difficult for me to execute and i know you always simplify the difficult in all songs to master it faster over time
That song has one of the coolest intros!
No doubt, it's the first intro I learned when starting to play.
Yep!
@@gtsipejr you went straight for a tuff one for a beginner
@@Dex8357 well if you look at my other reply(below), it was about two years ago. I started in spring '17, so I had almost 2 years in by then, but still a beginner.
@@gtsipejr don’t ever stop and pass it on..I was probably playing for 10 years when I learned this one. over 25 years now for me and I still feel like a beginner..
Marty, just let me tell you old friend, you have been absolutely indispensable in advancing my guitar playing abilities! Your skills in “breaking it down” is the key!
I totally agree. I have been playing since 1978 but I have grown so much in the past 2 years since discovering Marty. Everyone who knows me is amazed how I have improved. Now I love playing again. Any song I want to learn is now coming together. I have been recommending Marty to everyone who plays.
Marty definitely breaks it down in pieces that even I can understand. Thanks Marty!
i can see that you really love this kind of music sadly im just 15 years old who can ride only 50cc
Everybody probably thought it was CCR at one point.
This guy has helped me learn so much. Only 16, and grew up on all these songs, and now I can play them. Thank you so much!!!!🎸
I'm an older guy and have loved this song forever. Never ever even hoped to play that intro and now I can. Cheers man.
i remember watching your sweet home Alabama tutorial on GuitarJamz in 2009. I'm 16 now getting university entrance for guitar and it's crazy to think this wouldn't be possible without you. thank you
congratulations, that's quite the accomplishment.
That's pretty dope man, congratulations even tho I'm late
Marty has gotten to big to respond to incredible praise’s like this
You know what Marty, sometimes I ask myself if I’m self thaught, my answer is always the same…. Nope I learn from Marty, whenever I’ve been at my lowest I’ve always come to one of your videos cause they always connect me with music and positivity, thank you so much for making such amazing content and please never stop!!! Kinda weird to hear this from someone who you’ve never herd or seen but love you Marty, thx.
I’m sure he gets it a lot. We all love Marty!
This song and the band Hollies used to be my favourite band back when I was ten years old! I listened to it all the time and even performed it in school with a band...
He was a long cool Marty with a black Strat.....
One of my favourite songs by The Hollies. Used to listen to my mum & dad's vinyl of this on repeat when I was growing up.
MARTY! I am FINALLY “getting IT!”. I have to again, say THANK YOU!
I LOVE YOUR STYLE OF TEACHING. (I only can do free lessons, fixed income old lady,) but YOUR free lessons are TRULY THE BEST.
NO ONE ELSES COMPARE. Not even CLOSE.
YOU play just enough in the beginning, and then don’t BULLSHIT about how “you hear it being played,” or “why it has to be this way to be correct.” You dumb it down just enough so we don’t feel DUMB. HONESTLY, I freaking love you man.
Forget dreaming of meeting Alice Cooper or any other “rockstar “. YOU are my rockstar!
And I’d be happy to meet you before I die!
Keep them coming man…I’ve got 100x further with your lessons, in 3 months; than I have in literally 44 years of “trying “.
***Hot Blooded…someday, please and ty!
This is the BEST lesson on this song intro I've ever seen. Thanks Marty. You're a treasure.
Lifetime favourite . Thank you .
Yes Marty! My guitar instructor made me learn this song last lesson but I can’t find a decent lesson and now here’s Marty on time
I've been wanting to learn this song for eions and Marty just helped me learn the whole song in just one hour. So much fun and a great opportunity to do some arpeggio. Marty ....I love how you move slowly and repeating a couple times really helped me. Thanks so much!
After a good few years playing now you are still my go to guy. Great instruction, lots of good players out there but they can't or don't teach in the simple to understand way that you do. Thanks Marty!
Thank you Marty,I am learning songs I never thought I could learn and finding out they aren't as hard to learn as I thought. It boils down to a damn good teacher!
I've been wanting to learn this for the longest time,THANK YOU for breaking it down. May the Schwartz be with you😉!
Marty, you always teach in a very understanding easy way. I've learned a lot from your videos. Thanks
Cheers Marty, a classic song by the Hollies. One of my favourite groups growing up. 👍👍🇬🇧🇬🇧
Marty,
Always when I like found a cool sounding song, I search It up on youtube what the cords are. And even with some “unknown” songs you always have an explanation for it. I really like how you explain the cords and rhythms. Keep up the good work!
Mike
Back in the day when this first came out I always loved watching guys play this, now I can, it was worth the wait. THANKS MARTY!

The best tutorial yet for this song !!!! TY Marty !!!! What an epic piece of string work !!!! 😁✌
Dude, by far you are my instructor of choice, and I have followed you from before you got your own channel. . . you've helped me immensely. Thank you for what you do.
Marty, Marty, Marty, you absolutely astonish me over and over. You are the guitar student's go-to for anything and everything. Just when I think to myself "there's no way he's ever covered this song in a lesson, there you go." You are the hands down best. My guru. I hope someday I can shake your hand and tell you to your face how incredibly valuable you are to me.
I always loved this song and now I can play it. Thanks for breaking it down Marty.
Marty been a fan for years! Great approach to learning songs every guitar player wants to know.
Another Killer Riff to check off my " must learn list".... Thx to your video's Sir, Richie
Literally every song I search up to learn, Marty has a video. Love this page
Great tutorial. Needed to learn this song fast for rehearsal. Thanks a million!!!
Man, thank you so MUCH!!! I've beat my head against that intro for years! Now, I got it!
I've been having a go and this for years and now see how it's done. Incidentally none of my past band members could figure this out either, but my excuse is I'm a drummer first , they were guitar players lol.
Cheers Marty👍👍
Thanks for the help on this one Marty! Especially that epic intro! 🙏🏻
Thank you so much for putting this up Marty!! Always great stuff
I'm in a garage band and we wanted to do this one. Your video was just what I needed to break the code on the cool rif at the beginning of the song. Thanks! You da man!
This entire channel has brought me everything i know about guitar right now, and i would love to learn JJ72 - Serpent Sky
Marty you are the best! I've learnt so many songs on your channel, thank you so much... You are a legend
You know I have been trying for years to figure this out and Marty put it all in order for me. He is patient. And you can yell at him and he still smiles
Ha ha. Makes it simple. Love him
Excellent lesson Marty. TY ! One of my favorite guitar pieces !!! 😊🖒💕
Great song. Cover band staple. Almost everyone hits the dance floor.
You are the man Marty or Marty the man. Keeping the classics alive and making it easy to learn intricate patterns. Thanks
Marty....I'm 58 years old. Been "playing" guitar since I was 5. Wasn't until I ran into you on RUclips a year ago, that I actually became a "guitar player"! Bless you Brother!
one of my all time favorites thanks for teaching
One of if not the best guitar instructors on youtube. Keep up the great work.
Excellent version. I'm a bit younger but I played all over the north of England in the same clubs and pubs as these guys before they went onto much deserved fame and fortune. Tony Hicks is one of the truly underrated guitar players and drummer Bobby Elliott was one of the absolute best of the era.
Dude, one of my favorites. Saw the Hollies live in the early nineties (yeah I'm old). Great song live for sure. They were great
Thank you for the clear lesson on this "long cool" intro. So much fun to figure this one out
Thank you Marty! On of the best jammin songs out there
I fall in love with that Intro Riff, thx for the tuturial💯
great guitar tutoring, especially this one. Thanks for this upload, I have work to do but that's tomorrows task. Thanks again.
Your lessons are always outstanding. Thank you!
Best guitar teacher on RUclips (and Instagram). You always pick such great songs.
Thanks!
Imagine disliking the video give the guy a break he works hard for all of us to be happy also this is a good song so I don’t know why you would dislike in the first place that’s pretty messed up
A very beautiful song and a great guitar lesson. Thanks
Oh dang, I grew up with this song. Dad used to play this Hollies compilation all the time, and this was always one of my faves. Great vocals by Allan Clarke.
Time to get that Ibanez out of the case, and tune up. Awesome stuff, Marty, love your channel. It's finally fun to play acoustic, since I'm learning actual songs. :p
Love the riffs out of that scale. Im fairly new but sure seems like a lot good riffs right there in lots of songs.
By far the best lesson!
Tremendous tutorial Marty. I will revive the Hollies now.👏👏😀😀😀👍👍
Best guitar teacher on RUclips! I’ve been looking all over for video tutorials on “Come Tomorrow” by Dave Matthews Band and there are none!! I would love a tutorial on that song!
Great stuff Marty! All time classic..!!
Feel like I am progressing thanks to Marty. I actually got this one down all the way thru, intro and all. I have a Taylor also so maybe that's it haha. Thank you Marty.
Love it man. Haven't played this for donkeys years, and the 3 starts playing together is fantastic. Nice one Martyr man. 🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸

I just want to say thanks Marty you have made me the gutarist I am today I learned almost everything I know about guitar from u so just wanna say thanks for giving me something that I can keep with me the rest of my life
I found you doing this classic 🤣 that’s awesome! You can go up to the 7th fret on the intro riff & do the shuffle start barring A string down to D string but anyway I know you know how but it changes from a folky sound to a driving rock kinda vibe. Thanks for this one!
Excellent maestro !
Oh yeah! Brilliant track. Thanks Marty!! 😎
I remember buying this 45 when I was younger and I had to return it to the store about 3-4 times because it kept skipping that’s when you put pennies on the arm to keep it on the record. I finally got one that worked . Great song great lesson Marty thanks again.
Cool. You make it look easy and sound awesome. Thanks Marty!
