The absolute best voice that ever sang Country Music
yes indeedy
Agreed
I agree 1000 percent too!!!!
💯
It would be so good if we could turn the clock back and relive those years and good times and moments we loved.
I see why my daddy liked him so much...
I had the privilege of seeing the Possum in concert in the 70's. I'll never forget it. Best concert I ever saw. I miss him a lot.
❤❤Refreshing.
His best version of "you done me wrong" is here.
This, THIS! Is "Country Music! Period!
Yes , i´ve almost forgot to play his records for year´s.... but thank youtube....found George again :)

December 27th 2021. No one will ever fill his shoes. ❤
That piano player is wearin' 'em out ain't he? This is awesome stuff
He was blessed with so much talent its simply hard to believe.
Probably the only thing in this world I’m really jealous about is that I can’t sing George Jones songs like the possum can. I don’t think anyone can, haha.
I just started reading his autobiography "I Lived To Tell It All" so I just had to come and check out his earliest performances when he first started out! ☺️ George is a legend !
Love to hear George sing from the early early days his voice great thank you gmfor sharing

God damn definitely best ever
Thanks SO MUCH for posting this. I love it. The young George - no auto tune, no drums, no electrification! Just a guitar, a microphone, the backing string band, and THAT VOICE!
Makes my Day!! George was the Best!!!
Best ever.
I just can’t believe I didn’t like the possum back then but he’s been on top of my list for 40 years now RIP

Awesome video
loved all George Jone's music....always. no voice has ever come close and and never will. REAL COUNTRY!
Merci beaucoup pour ces images !
LONG LIVE THE POSSUM!!!
I see Gordon Terry to George’s left, Harold Hensley playing fiddle, blind Jimmy Pruett ( aka Wilson) on piano, Pee Wee Adams on drums, and the emcee is Jay Stewart. You can tell George hadn’t quite gotten out of his “Thumper Jones” style yet at this time. Seasons Of My Heart, co-written by Jones & Darrell Edwards, was and still is one of my favorites. What happened to our music?
Blind Jimmy Pruett, you mena that guy rocked and couldnt even see ????
Compton, Calif
He was also an excellent actor in The Mask !
I really want to see a biopic with Jim Carrey playing him!
@@joshartall8368he’s the closest resemblance wise, but I’m not sure if Jim Carrey could convey the waywardness of George’s life. Maybe I’m wrong though 🤷♂️
Look at Jerry Carrigan on piano. Alabama Music Hall of Fame. Played also with Elvis and Jerry Lee himself.
That actually looks like Jimmy Pruett on piano. He was blind also.
wow at 5:10 - that must have been pre - White Lightnin'. I never thought of doin that - writing several songs to one melody to see what hits.. George is my Dad's and mine, all time favorite singer.
If memory serves me right, this is after white lightning, which was written by JP Richardson aka Big Bopper, and I think him and George either Co-wrote this song and/or George was riding on the coattails of white lightning. So that’s essentially a copy of White Lightning.
Harold Hensley on fiddle
Harold is from Whitetop Mountain Virginia. Are you also?
I do believe that is Hargus "Pig" Robbins on the Piano !!
Nope. It's Jimmy Pruitt...a great, great player.
You are Right ! Thanks !
Always played a Martin guitar
Harold Hensley on second fiddle
Gordon Terry switches to guitar
Would anyone here happen to know the song/titles that make up this masterpiece?
Wish I could think of the blind piano player.. He can really smoke those 88's
Jimmy Pruitt.
ide take that martin bo
GEORGE FUCK'N JONES!!!
Gordon Terry on "violin"
Alabama native!
AND Gordon also used the viola, which he called his "superfiddle", when playing with lower pitched singers. Check out the Johnny Cash version of " She's Just A Honky Tonk Girl" for a good example.
what are the titles of each song...this is awesome!
You Done Me Wrong/Life to Go/Don't Do This to Me/Seasons of My Heart.
Who Shot Sam?
You Gotta Be My Baby.
awesome thank you
Young george looks like jim Carrey
Is that the same fiddler that played with Merle Haggard????
Anybody knows whats the first song is called? thanks

You Done Me Wrong
@@colinmurphy3478 Also Ray Price, who also did ‘Don’t Do This To Me’. I think both versions of both the songs were done great by both George and Ray.
