I dont have a capture card, single pc setup. However, I got a C920 used for 25€, got a thomann t.bone sc400 condenser mic for 30€, and an umc22 for 38€. less than 100€, solid quality. People, there's also mics like the xm8500, xlr dynamic mics for 15€ that sound decent ,especially when streaming with the game sounds etc.
I got a Behringer UMC22 [35€, +5€ XLR cable] with a 32€ Dynamic mic (you could easily go for the xm8500 which is like 12€, also works perfectly fine. Better than most usb things sub 70), a C920 that was used only ONCE for 25€. I dont need a capture card, so that isnt really in my equation , but you can get a basic audio and webcam setup for 77€ ish, if you take some time to look for a used thing or two. Add 2 12€ lamps for lighting, and bam. If youre streaming with one pc, you're set.
@@Redsebt Well, if you get the drivers to work as intended, which sometimes they kinda dont. I luckily didn't have any driver problems and yeah, for the price it's unbeatable. Running a dynamic mic w/ 75% gain and no audible hissing at all

Do you NEED a capture card? Been streaming for like 4 months now going pretty well streams looking nice own designs and all but im missing an good mic but my budget is pretty tight 50/80eu but I dont need an capture card if I use an usb mic right?
Your microphone choice and capture cards are completely separate from one another... a capture card records your game, a mic covers your talking audio. To answer if you NEED one, if you are playing pc games and have an nvidia gpu, i'd say no, as the nvenc encoder in them can work just fine
I have a MacBook pro, do I have to invest in a windows pc to get started? Because even the video cards that you have discussed , I think are for windows operating system.
Hello Harris can you make a video showing which is the cheapest dslr to stream? i think the sony a5100 is a bit expensive to start with, maybe there are cheap alternatives. thanks for the many great videos! greets from Zurich
Hello, what kind of software do you use for live microphone sound. I tried SoundMeter and Equilizer AOS... hard to tune up for a decent sound. Please respond...
Thank you for all the amazing videos! I've recently found you and I've watched a whole bunch in the last days as I've been in the market for a quality camera. I'm an art streamer, so I'm pointing the camera straight at whatever I'm painting. Any recommendations for us artists out there? All the camera videos are really geared for outdoor/irl streamers or face cameras. Thanks so much and have a great day!!
the capture card actually dropped 2 or 3 times more frames than you counted. before the "many frames later" i was noticing several that you didnt count. It moved a smidge, but not enough to be counted as a new frame.
I personally use NDI with a 2nd setup, you can get a low budget PC with a quad core CPU that will do as well as a Capture card, could even be a 2nd hand Laptop from craigslist. (I like it better because it provides better monitoring and a handy monitor for Notifications and such). P.S: Mark my words, one day people will be using their Phone as a capture card. Logitech C920 is so good and HyperX Microphone is most likely the best 110$ you are gonna spend, it comes with amazing built in buttons specially made for streaming or even studio recording with instruments. I think it's a step up to one of my all time favorites AT2020 (which goes for like ~90$). I also really like 'Fifine' as a brand, they really hit the sweet spot for price/quality, as low as 30$ you are gonna get top quality material that only distorts if you are literally screaming at it. So a good Kit could set you back as low as 35$ microphone, 50$ C920 is best quality/price, 2nd hand Laptop for like 85$-100$ for NDI + extra monitor to operate.
I have a trick that I use to see exact and minute differences between images or videos, and I can say, if you aren't moving much, there isn't any difference between the two capture cards. They are the same in colors and even quality. The dropped frames is an issue, though.
Got my C920 for $39 (only paid $19 thanks to a $20 credit I had from Amazon), my HD 60S for $75 (used in great condition) and I have option of either my HyperX Cloud II headset or my Shure SM57 or SM58 (I have both from when I used to play in a band, only paid $50 each) connected to my one of my audio interfaces (focusrite scarlett 2i4 or zoom h4n pro that I bought a couple years ago for recording music). I technically only paid $95 for my streaming setup, since I had all the other stuff prior for other uses.
I've just bought a Streamdeck, an Elgato Green Screen, a Logitech Brio, 2 x Elgato Key Lights and have a decent mic (I write music for Film so audio stuff is no coercer here) running into a Universal Audio Apollo Twin X. I really want to get into streaming live tutorials. I'm very interested in using a dedicated streaming computer as my main computer is running a DAW (with 3 slave computers connected) with thousands of tracks so I would like to take any strain the video side of things will bring by using a dedicated Streaming computer. Could you possibly make a video showing how this side of things work? How does someone stream games consoles as well? I'm planning on using OBS. Loving your channel man, just found it a few days ago and any help would be greatly received! Thanks
i know its not about the video but I know you have back problems and so I respect ur opinion on chair, and i dont see any branding on yours. Was just wondering what brand your was and if youd reccomend it
Between the mics I think the $60 mic sounds better because when you talked loud into the hyper x I could hear the echo of your voice bouncing off your walls. So impressive that the cheaper one sounds better 💯💯
i know this was released before this came out but you can get into streaming(assuming you have a decently ok gaming setup already), but i have the fifine usb mic and i just started using the rtx voice app(which you can use without a rtx card just have to edit a line of code) and it gives a xlr setup a run for its money, actually if i told you i had a mixer, and some fancy mic you probably would believe me. really doesnt take much to get a decent streaming setup going these days, 2 monitors, decent gaming pc, and you dont really need a webcam. I dont stream but i am looking into it for when i move.
Hey Harris. Great video buddy, Shane in the camera, really expected more. The mic seems to exceed expectations, but as you know, I like my Rode. Capture card, I personally use the AVerMedia LGX2, USB3, 4K passthrough, problem free and still far cheaper than the HD60S, You really should check that one out.
Question, im streaming. Im going between sony a5100 and a6000. The a5100 with retractable lens $449.99 16-55mm. a6000 with 2 lens 16-50mm and 55-210 649.99. Which one should i get. Streaming only. What you think?
I used an Avermedia capture card when I started. Lagged a fair bit and required a lot of restarts of software during daily boot ups. Be aware of that. Elgato HD60S Has foibles, but not nearly as many
This video has just sold me on the c920! Probably my next purchase now lol. So far I've been using Droidcam (recommending for starting out btw) on my phone, but I do need an actual cam tbf.
Hey AG, I know this is an oldie but they (Avermedia) did fix the plug n play issues with the webcam t least on the newer stock 313 models.. I tried without any software and it picked it up in obs. I decided to download camengine to control some thing (completely unneccasary), and the only drivers available now are to fix a weird mic issue in skype.. If your using skype or if ur using the a webcams mic your already doing it wrong xD.
My issue isn't equipment. My biggest issue is knowing how to USE said equipment. More in the realm of the capture card than anything else. A cam and a mic are pretty simple pieces to use. Trying to figure out how to use the capture card, how to connect everything properly, and how to use things like overlays, alerts, and the million and one other things needed to make a stream look professional is the problem I have. And, sure, there are lots of videos on how to use overlays...but they never show you where they're stored on your PC, they never show you how to set them up, and they never show you how to arrange them so they look the way you want them to. Yes, I'm asking for a bit of hand holding. A walk through, if you will. But, once I figure out one thing it should lead me to how to figure out the rest. THOSE are the things, I think, that keep people from streaming as much as they could. Not so much equipment. However, I DO still enjoy your videos. And, they've been helpful in a lot of ways. So, thank you for taking the time to do what you do.
Can you complain about USB mic companies like blue, hyper, audiotech for not having on n off button because I'm tried of having to mute it every time I turn on pc
I bought all my stuff of Facebook Marketplace. I got a Logitech C920 for $30. Elgato HD60S for $90, and a Tonor mic bundle off Amazon for $30. Everything works great and sounds great. I don't know why so many reviewers don't talk about these. If you're just starting, buy used.
mxl99 $39 your phone camera and a tripod plus tripod phone adapter $19 lgv30 used broken glass $40 has 4k capture card software built in wires cost $10 total $109 you can use the lgv30 as a power supply for the mic provides up to 40v phantom power and the lg v30 has a setting to use ext mic for capture you could also use it for the webcam but you don't want to strain the device
It all depends how you look for stuff because I have the ezcap 261m capture card but I have a LogiTech c920 and the blue snowball for only like a hundred seventy bucks so
Hey Harris I use an app called Geek and i see mics for 28-34 dollars all the time and was wondering if you've ever used the app yourself and thought about testing those?

It sounds like the C920, a blue snowball mic, an elgato hd60s would be a better buy with the mic being like $10 cheaper, the camera being $30 cheaper and the capture card $60 more, evens it all back out pretty much?
My issue is I need to stream at 48 K for 2 hours for a show. I am a musician who does 2 hour gigs. 1080p. Can I still use this device or not? Capture card wise. Just need one of those. Cheapest that works well. Any ideas?
i got a capture card and hooked my video card on my desktop to the capture card the output to my monitor. I got a washed out screen and big huge icons on my normally 1920x1080 screen. any ideas what went wrong?
Hi, i have question about Avermedia Live Gamer Mini. Im trying to connect my phone Huawei P20 with this capture card. Video and sounds are working great. the problem is whenever i turned on the mic in game PUBGM, it will auto disconnect. I tried a lot of way to make it possible to talk in game with my teammates but failed. Do you have any idea how to solve this problem?
Could you make video how to audio treat a room for condenser mic .. My room walls are made of brick not wood like most houses typically in USA .. There are many types of audio panels wedge bass foam i just dont get the difference

Blue Snowball
Streamdeck mini
GoXLR mini + BM-800 mic, the mic is cheap but works well enough for streaming
C920 webcam

Looks like I'll be sticking w/ the gear I have, other than I still want to upgrade my 1080Ti to the upcoming Ampere line-up from NVIDIA.
You are the number one guy I come to, to watch and learn stuff that I need to learn.
Elgato cards seem really high priced right now compared to 1-2 months ago. They were $100-130 when I looked late 2019.
That Behringer is a work of art for its price
@@Redsebt Well, if you get the drivers to work as intended, which sometimes they kinda dont. I luckily didn't have any driver problems and yeah, for the price it's unbeatable. Running a dynamic mic w/ 75% gain and no audible hissing at all
Am just starting of the only thing I need help with it editing I know simple things but love to know what you use and help doing the extra effects that you use on your videos
New to the channel and so glad I found it! I’m binging all your videos 🐣❤️
My streaming starter pack
1- fifine k669b 25$
2- two boom arms 9$*2=18$ (one for mic, another one for my phone live cam as webcam via iVCam 6$
3- obs free.
4- led strip behind the desk and monitor bouncing at the walll 5m 13$
Plan to get 2 softbox and rgb leds bounce at the background.
Would be good enough to enjoy the game.
Please keep doing more videos like this. I love you Harris and much love to you, your content and your family
Ah! That's cheap!!!!🤟 Btw love how you say 60% off on the last day and vid posted at 22;30ish on the 31st 😂
I really appreciate your channel and all the honest reviews. Thanks!
I appreciate all your help man, I really appreciate all your videos! I’m building a Ryzen 7 3700x & Rtx 2080 Super Build right now!!🦾🥰
Do you NEED a capture card?
Hello Harris
can you make a video showing which is the cheapest dslr to stream? i think the sony a5100 is a bit expensive to start with, maybe there are cheap alternatives.
thanks for the many great videos!
greets from Zurich
Hello, what kind of software do you use for live microphone sound. I tried SoundMeter and Equilizer AOS... hard to tune up for a decent sound. Please respond...
Your videos have helped me so much, thank you!
Wow this is like exactly what I’m looking for right now!!
the capture card actually dropped 2 or 3 times more frames than you counted. before the "many frames later" i was noticing several that you didnt count.
Hello Harris, can you recommend a mic best for singing? and equipment needed to record a music cover?
Any Blue Yeti Pro and above would do.
Wow. This was a really in-depth review. 🤔💪
Was just wondering what brand your was and if youd reccomend it
I have a question. I bought the HyperX Quadcast. And wanted to buy another pair of headphones . Which would you recommend?
Between the mics I think the $60 mic sounds better because when you talked loud into the hyper x I could hear the echo of your voice bouncing off your walls. So impressive that the cheaper one sounds better 💯💯
Hey you’ve got the Hyperx Quadcast microphone!! Is it good??😃 I think I wanna buy that one. Nice vid!!
i know this was released before this came out but you can get into streaming(assuming you have a decently ok gaming setup already), but i have the fifine usb mic and i just started using the rtx voice app(which you can use without a rtx card just have to edit a line of code) and it gives a xlr setup a run for its money, actually if i told you i had a mixer, and some fancy mic you probably would believe me. really doesnt take much to get a decent streaming setup going these days, 2 monitors, decent gaming pc, and you dont really need a webcam. I dont stream but i am looking into it for when i move.
@Alpha Gaming - what about how to hook all this up? Do you have to have multiple pcs to stream?
Hey Harris.
Great video buddy,
Shane in the camera, really expected more.
The mic seems to exceed expectations, but as you know, I like my Rode.
Capture card, I personally use the AVerMedia LGX2,
USB3, 4K passthrough, problem free and still far cheaper than the HD60S,
You really should check that one out.
Would adjusting the lighting help with the webcam at all?
Can you complain about USB mic companies like blue, hyper, audiotech for not having on n off button because I'm tried of having to mute it every time I turn on pc
I bought all my stuff of Facebook Marketplace. I got a Logitech C920 for $30. Elgato HD60S for $90, and a Tonor mic bundle off Amazon for $30. Everything works great and sounds great. I don't know why so many reviewers don't talk about these. If you're just starting, buy used.
serious question, where did you find a c920 for 50 bucks? i can only find them for like 100+ anywhere.
Can you use just for making videos or does it have to be live videos
Would you ever do a video on Voicemeter Banana/Potato at all for us USB mic users on a budget?
mxl99 $39 your phone camera and a tripod plus tripod phone adapter $19 lgv30 used broken glass $40 has 4k capture card software built in wires cost $10 total $109 you can use the lgv30 as a power supply for the mic provides up to 40v phantom power and the lg v30 has a setting to use ext mic for capture you could also use it for the webcam but you don't want to strain the device
It all depends how you look for stuff because I have the ezcap 261m capture card but I have a LogiTech c920 and the blue snowball for only like a hundred seventy bucks so
An awesome video as per usual, Harris. 😁 👌
Cheers mate! 🍻
Harris, your advice has helped my streams out tremendously. Thank you so much! One day I hope to be able to go to TwitchCon and buy you a beer. 😎
I watched one of your videos. Then another. Then another. Thank you so much for your info you have helped me a lot. (I subscribed)
why didnt you use the razer seiren to compare against the mic?
Hey Harris I use an app called Geek and i see mics for 28-34 dollars all the time and was wondering if you've ever used the app yourself and thought about testing those?
sir,im new at live streaming,my setup now is just a Dell all in one computer 24 inch touch screen,im looking to buy a secondary monitor to hookup my ps4 to,its annoying if i want to play on my ps4 i go over to my television to play,i rather have another monitor on my computer desk,question...how come gaming monitors dont have eithernet ports? to use it as a computer,
It sounds like the C920, a blue snowball mic, an elgato hd60s would be a better buy with the mic being like $10 cheaper, the camera being $30 cheaper and the capture card $60 more, evens it all back out pretty much?
What software do you use to edit your videos and why?
If you activate buffering in obs (thus adding a bit more delay) can you reduce the frameskip on the capture card ?
I have been using the NIX capture card by pluggable. It is about $100 and is usb 3.0. works pretty good, although i have nothing to compare it to lol
Dang, this is Gamer nexux Level Break downs. GJ mate!
Do you think the avermedia webcam will work on xbox one s?
My issue is I need to stream at 48 K for 2 hours for a show. I am a musician who does 2 hour gigs. 1080p. Can I still use this device or not? Capture card wise. Just need one of those. Cheapest that works well. Any ideas?
i got a capture card and hooked my video card on my desktop to the capture card the output to my monitor. I got a washed out screen and big huge icons on my normally 1920x1080 screen. any ideas what went wrong?
I just had to buy both bc everything’s sold out for quarantine and I have to hook up my camera AND console
Harris you may never see this but I need your help my G. Track Pro the LED light on their keeps blinking red inside of OBS according to the manual this is because it says it’s clipping my audio however if I plug in my blue snowball or blue yeti those are just plug and play do you have any advice as to what I need to do
How did you get the c920 for $50 when I looked it up and it was $80 at cheapest?
Question, if I have a two pc streaming setup and I want to add a sony a6000 do I need two capture cards? PS love your content in super helpfull.
