If I started over on twitch, I would gear my livestream content to be used as youtube content. Meaning, I would come up with ideas for compelling youtube videos beforehand, prep whatever I need to do it live, then do it live. Which then that stream would be chopped up into the said video ideas. I'd then further edit them and create shorts.
Hey it’s my plan! lol I just did my first stream last night. Today after work ima chop it up and try atleast 1 RUclips video outta it and some shorts for RUclips and TikTok.
The bit about not being a degenerate was much appreciated. Shouldn't have to be said, but unfortunately it does. Great video, keep killin' it and enjoy Hawaii.
That ending message is the reason why I watch your RUclips videos. Thank you so much for encouraging and empowering others to be positive in today's troubled world. Godspeed to you, Harris.
I've been fortunate with me streaming as a "bonus" on twitch, to my normal long form content on youtube. Might only average 40-50 viewers per stream, but the conversations we have are so much fun. And I make a little side-money doing it. I don't even know how to "plan" something that could turn into a clip or short. Wouldn't even know where to begin to think about that. Sometimes funny things happen. I clip them, turn them into vertical format and share them on all the other platforms. But I don't put a priority into it. Hope my strategy continues to work for a while :)
As a fairly new RUclipsr/ Streamer I will wholeheartedly say that your videos give the best advice. When I first started back in March of this year I binged almost all of your suggestions, streaming, lighting etc. videos and it opened my eyes to the complexity of it all. I started with just an Xbox and with the help of friends and small sponsorships I have a pc. Thank you for all of the tips that got me where I am now :)
I started streaming about a year ago. Affiliated after 4 months, and just got over 200 followers. I still wait for videos like these so i can learn more on what i can do better
Thank you for always trying to help the smaller creator Harris, I’ve already put into action some of what you’ve said in this video which makes me now think I’m on the right path :) I use to stream 3x times a week and try to be live for 4 hours each time on twitch but truth be told that wasn’t good for me, it just wasn’t possible with my daily routine sadly but since I moved over to RUclips I’ve started streaming once a week for about 2 hours and have already noticed a positive difference + I have the time to create 3x long form videos each week on top of that. I’m going to see what 2x streams a week is like for me next on this platform and then start getting back into YT Shorts and recycle that content into TikToks :)
you make anime reaction content lol the easiest thing on the planet harris has done nothing but fail as a live streamer, why would you take his advice? All your youtube videos have outrageously low views lol you need to do something else with actual creative integrity besides watching anime.
This is very useful, I stop streaming after college and lately i've been trying to get back into it, but it harder now when my music career has taking a big spike!
For the clip automation, the Twitch plugin has a clip function that will take a 30 second clip of your stream. I've usually been able to clip the moment I wanted to clip and even if the clip wasn't quite correct, I have the the ability to go from the clip right to the spot in my stream the moment happened and clip what I wanted from there.
FOR MAKING TWITCH CLIPS: No stream deck or similar periph? Dont want to download software onto your device? Can’t/don’t want to physically write down timestamps? Do this instead (tho I def recommend the stream deck): Bring up the alarm on your phone and open the Stopwatch option. Hit start the same time you go live. Every time you want to mark a “Clip Later” spot, hit the “Lap” button in the app. Voila! A list of all the timestamps you want to look at after stream. I’m pretty sure on the iPhone you can even make it a widget that will show on your Lock Screen, but I could be mistaken. Oh, and no need to worry about closing the app. The Stopwatch will continue running until you hit “Stop.”
Harris saying that bit at the end wins 2023. Something I have said while live, and in other content too many times to count and I love that someone with an actual platform finally said it. So thank you, because more people need to stop basing content on "If I get a million views who cares who gets hurt?" Love it, if we are ever in LA at the same time I'll buy you some Trejo's tacos, best food ever.
The ending was amazing in much needed in todays world where everything is a problem. Keep up your amazing videos i have been watching your videos for years!!
i effin love this Harris.. your the true goat for continuing to provide us with better tactics and formulas' to better increase our brand awareness and growth.. honestly this is coming from a small content creator aka an artist trying to grow on large scale your knowledge is what keeps me still grinding even when i have under 100 followers across all platforms. i did the exact thing you said not to do which is post on every platform(facebook, instagram, tik tok, rarely on twitter but yes i was posting on all of them and that didnt do anything but make me feel like im going backwards rather than forward. keep up with the amazing work you do. but side note can you make a vod on how to grow with each platform or at least your suggestions.. i believe this type of vod will do alot of ppl justice and really give them a foundation to start off of..
As an indivdual that streams to literal no one and too lazy to try and make an effort to expand whatever it is I'm doing is honestly gonna stay that way cause of the way I am. But I'll take these tips with some salt, consideration and hopefully I'll attempt to apply them in the future. Much love & much respect to the streaming daddy!
I don't stream to anybody either no matter what tips I apply nothing works, but I do because it's fun. Somedays a little less fun than others because I feel crazy talking to myself but, the internet/streaming is like high school...a popularity contest so oh well.
Dude, I've been watching your content for years now, and I have to say - nothing has made me value you and your content more than hearing Tip #5 today. Thanks for being awesome. In a world of click bait and bad behavior attention grabs, hearing #5 expressed verbally, directly, and with visuals identifying the problematic behavior you're speaking against, it makes me glad I've be been a fan of yours for so long. Keep crushing it.
This is the best Twitch on the internet. Especially the part of "Focus on Two Platforms". I used to try and put the same love into Twitch, TikTok, RUclips, and Instagram but it quickly led to burn out and each platform suffering. Great video!
Thanks for using your platform and voice to spread positivity. This was heartfelt, additive, much needed, and highly appreciated. Good karma returns too!
Good message. Solid video. I don't think I have it in me for streaming anymore these days but there's still opportunities out there for those that go about it the right way.
That last point has been mentioned in the comments a lot already. But yeah, that's one that I totally resonate with. In a world filled with content that hurts others, in any way, being the light in someone's day is incredibly valuable. Thanks for the tips man!
Dude. Your last words of advice here are AMAZING. I loved the tips but just the notion of reminding people to bring value to those around them is really special and I couldn't agree more. My motivation as a streamer is to move people emotionally with music or comedy and I am happy that it matches your instruction.
Yeah I've been thinking about going "stuff it" and multistreaming. It just seems too limiting staying just on Twitch now ayway. Gotta figure all that stuff out and working on doing clips better than I have since as it is, the only clips I do have are just old stream stuff thrown up that friends have clipped for me
Just started streaming last month, after knowing that I’m no longer fit to work as per normal coz my spine got severely fractured. I spent almost $1k for streaming equipments. The reason I stream; I love gaming and I hope by streaming, I able to earn some money. I did those tips mentioned in this vid; Tips #1 ,#2 and , #4 but I still have 0 viewers everytime I stream in both Twitch and TikTok. I’m still learning how to improve myself on streaming. Gaining followers and viewers takes some time. I’ve read a guy streaming for more than 5 years but still with 0 viewers everytime he streams. I have finally know that making money by streaming ain’t that easy. PS: That last message almost got me teared up bruhh. Appreciate the advice :’)
Watching this in jan 2025 and started streaming on twitch 4 months ago! I’m at 320 followers and my small community means the world to me and people come to me because they feel it’s a safe space. I love the message at the end about being a light, great video mate
I watched this specifically to see if he would mention the tactic i chose lol which is ofcourse multistreaming. i was very against it as well for a long time and i will admit not all viewers love the idea but it helps in growth . I am a content creator that technically has 2 communities and i was always stressing myself out on how much to do where and would feel bad when id leave people out cause i would be on the opposite platform. i made the change to multistreaming 2 years ago and its honestly really beneficial for a creator. especially if your like myself and do edited content plus stream content.
I've only been on the streaming scene a couple of months but from the start i made a key promise that my content would not just be gaming so its not - brought in my own creative stuff + hoping for more podcasts. @@krazielplays dope! 😊 I appreciate that! I currently stream simulation games every Monday nights at 9pm AEST (Sydney Australia time) I’m looking to add another day and time for my USA audience very soon 😊

While I think there's a lot of value in this video, there's a line in here that really rubs me the wrong way. "...and you're not going to be making any money. You might as well not be live at all." I think this statement is all dependent on the person's end goal of making money. However, for someone like me, who has never prioritized that, it feels like this statement is saying "if you're not making money, you don't belong." I have a feeling it wasn't meant to sound like that, but it's how it comes off. There are people on every platform who don't necessarily prioritize making money or seeing their follower count grow. Some just do it for the fun of it, even to an empty stream
You’re totally right, and that’s an awesome reason to stream. I make videos for streamers who want to grow and this video is for streamers who want to grow. This video just isn’t made for you, and that’s ok 👍🏼
Solid advice here! I've been very sporadic with trying to stream (not trying to become super popular but just create a space for people who are interested in watching me). I especially like the advice about focusing on TWO specific platforms only and the rest being automated and multi-streaming.
Tip No. 5 is absolutely correct! THANK YOU for bringing that to our attention. Those kinds of insights are SO import, yet SO lacking. Thank you Harris.
I find myself in a strange sort of limbo between streams on Twitch (where I get gifted subs, donation and tips) and RUclips where I get views and steadier (albeit slow) growth. I still feel like discoverability on Twitch is the devil's dog's flea's butthole, but there is no denying the "kick your shoes off, and chill however" attitude the place has for content. On RUclips I feel that everything, from community posts, to shorts, to streams has to be this deliberate marketing campaign geared for the sole purpose of panning for gold. There are times when I just want to do on YT what i do on Twitch... be relaxed.
4:50 wow ok, this was easily the best advice I could have ever gotten. I... wow. I feel like a weight has been lifted from my shoulders. Thank you. This is the advice I needed.
Tip 3 is probably the most important I think. If you care about money success makes total sense, but if you don't it does the same for your mental health. I mean, I don't think there is a problem with an occasional "go live" and enjoy the stream kind of mindset, but if you have a project (or other things going on in life), it is really important to prioritize when you go live, so you can be doing the other things you need and enjoy.
If I weren't already subscribed, I'd have definitely hit that subscribe button after that final tip. Love the positivity. Keep spreading that. Thank you for being awesome.
Wait you’re a genius I never thought of using my stream as content on RUclips. I focus on RUclips, Twitch and Twitter and recording with OBS while streaming then editing a hype clip afterwards with Davinci Resolve and using Affinity Photo 2 to make the thumbnail then share it on Twitter is a fantastic idea. Your advice is straight forward and fantastic man keep it up!
I love how Harris in Tip#5 indirectly addressed how Ramsey Khalid Ismael's recent toxicity landed him in Japan's jail, without actually referring to him by name and even mentioning the incident, but instead made it a "By a Kind Streamer" PSA 😂
Sizzle looks to only be for shooters, which is unfortunate, since I have a variety to content I play or stream. Would have been great to have a way to upload a YT playthrough video and find highlights this way. Oh well.
Thanks for all of this, especially that last part. Darkness is prevalent in the universe, light is special and finite. Be the light, we need more light.
I realized the whole streaming less thing and that’s been my biggest thing this year. I used to stream 3-4 times a week, but now it’s more like 1-2 so I can work in content. I think it’s overall helped my channel but I still have a long way to go

The 'Ludwig Method', it's worked great for him. And he still does it, and it still works, and he's still growing.

Your advice is straight forward and fantastic man keep it up!
"You don't get discovered while you're LIVE!" Yo! You can't just brush past that big of revelation right there, bruh!
BROS TOES IN THE FIRST SECOND???? SAVE MEEEEEEEEE
All great points. Thanks as always harris
"...Choose to be a light..." Wise words my friend.
That last part speaks volumes especially with the shenanigans that happen over in Japan.
Tip 3 was something I realised recently but when you said it, I felt so good ❤❤
I especially loved the message at the end! Stay blessed man! 🙌
Nice how you posted a clip of one of the reasons I morally object to streaming on kick.
That last bit of advice is the realest thing I've heard someone say on RUclips. Thanks for the tips. 👍🏾👍🏾
That last tip just made me like the video and subscribe. Amazing content!
I will cherish the 5th and last advice as my most precious treasure.
I realized the whole streaming less thing and that’s been my biggest thing this year. I used to stream 3-4 times a week, but now it’s more like 1-2 so I can work in content.
I think it’s overall helped my channel but I still have a long way to go
Hey I know you. 😉
@@Ducain_Plays hi!

I love the tips on this video. I’m excited to implement some of these tips. Thank you making this 🙏
Happy to call you stream daddy any day 😂 That last point is so crucial, thank you for all that you do!
Love the message at the end!
love the "break TOS" followed by "dont do wrong" message
Nice vid. Some great pointers!
I'm always glad I make it to the end.ty for everything homie
