This hits hard, too darn relatable for me back in the day even when mixer was still around 😅 I think this is why it’s important to post consistently on other social media platforms like RUclips/TikTok promoting your streams where content can live forever rather than hoping someone will scroll down for 40 min to your stream if it happens to be a popular game. You actually can get more viewers/followers streaming A LOT less if you’re constantly making clips/content catered towards your streams. The only time it makes sense to stream 8 hours a day plus is if your already partnered or your getting a ton of traction.

    • @CubeInspector

Yeah it's way easier to get views on a 15 - 20 minute video than on a twitch stream. Most people aren't going into random peoples streams they're just watching someone they saw a video on youtube of that got recommend to them

Some people get popular for being really good at video games while other people manage to get lucky. Luck however is nothing if you can’t keep viewers entertained and engaged. Route I’ve seen some people take is to become popular on RUclips or TikTok to increase your potential audience while also advertising your streams. That’s what I think, I may be wrong but this is what I have gathered. Also of course you can appeal to the algorithm for the platforms you produce content on.

You have 1 person watching, you have no idea what they're like, and if they're not chatting, it's really hard to engage them, but you get this nervous urge to do whatever possible to entertain them, and when it drops back down to 0, it's SOOOOOO SAD!

I checked out your RUclips channel I have to say it's a great channel. Only feedback I have is to be a bit more confident when talking in the camera I feel like your holding back a little. the reason why no one is watching is because you have to up your marketing and networking game. When you don't have a team working for you in the background, you have to be your biggest promoter. I'm talking using everything word of mouth, all social media platforms, business cards, QR stickers, Collabs w/ people on your level or a bit higher etc. Get your name out there how ever you can, keep making great content and they won't be able to ignore you. I hope this helped I love when the underdogs win.

Thank you for your advice & I'm so glad you said it because I'm going to take your advice and improve in other areas. As a new streamer who started nearly a year ago on Twitch, there’s a lot I can relate too in this video.
The way you’re trying to think of things to say but it feels like it’s pointless at times when there’s no one watching. Being funny and silly on stream to realise that there’s no one here, but you do it in hopes that someone stops by at that specific time. Long periods of not talking as it’s difficult to keep talking, essentially to yourself in some cases. And the way you get up after the stream ends, shutting off all your lighting and feeling very un-motivated when you look back at your setup.
For me, I do it for fun & knowing that I have a small community of people who enjoy my content and me as a person, as well as some of the most meaningful compliments I never would’ve gotten normally, means the world to me; it keeps me going
I think this video really encapsulates this experience and I related to a lot of it.
Keep going. Enjoy the process. And most importantly, have fun and do your best. That’s all you can do ❤️

I use to stream with 3 viewers back in my days. I ended up getting an average of of 250 views after 2-3 years. It's not easy. You have to commit so much to get what you want. I was happy that I did it here on RUclips then other platforms it's because most of my videos stuck around to see growth.

Absolutely loved the video dude. Choreography, quality and heart strings were being pulled. Def deserve the 7k views and more. Only thing I wished for was a redemption from the streamer to continue streaming after the donation, watching that flame re-ignite in himself. Would have been sick, but regardless awesome video, it was a well spent 6 minute watch you deserve more than 295 subs

The small laughs at the end are so contagious. I’m going through the same thing as a small RUclipsr. Sometimes I have a few hundred views and other times I barely hit 70. I remember posting and not getting a single view and now I’m at 700+ subscribers. You just have to keep going

I feel you mate. I've been making videos for 2 odd years now? Most of them are private now. And the ones that aren't, aren't exactly the best, pulled low views. But I'm happy with them. It's a damn painful thing to look and see the things your passionate about don't get the recognition you hope. It drives you insane, all we can hope is that small community will stick around, that they will keep coming back for some odd reason. Just gotta have hope. Even when it gets especially difficult.
Also that ending through me for a loop, stellar video you have right here

This really hit home for me, I streamed for two years straight, always sat at 0 viewers. Seeing other channels grow so fast and me not making progress in the whole two years I streamed just demotivated me so much, never even knew my last stream would be the last one. I just decided I preferred playing games alone than sharing it with an audience that didn't exist. I'm glad for all the people who we're able to make it out of this, though. it really is a sucky phase and I respect the people that pulled through and kept streaming, I just couldn't do it after so long.

Seeing the bloopers at the was great hahaha
The slow ZOOM into the 0 views with the most non engaging commentary during a game really said it all
I've been streaming for now 5 years, but the first 4 years was really really on and off, with jobs changing, so time zones changed or extremely long breaks in between trying to figure things out. I feel for anyone who struggles with low view count. The one thing I would tell myself back then is, slow down on streaming, find like minded communities to engage with, always try to think outside the box, be okay with being a little uncomfortable and remember there is more to content creating than just streaming on twitch. Find your unique advantages that will make you stand out more than the next person, not in a way of you are better than the next person but the more you want to search for what you are good at or what makes you unique, the closer you will get to becoming the content creator you WANT to be.
Edit: Great video I really enjoyed the song you chose that really set the mood for how it feels getting off & feeling that confusion & frustration of, "What am I doing wrong?" when of course it should be, "What can I do differently?" excited to see other videos like this!

Beautifully made man. I fell victim to the Mixer trap, but had an average of 80 viewers on there at one point. Built a solid community and even had some merch sells. I loved it so much man, but then when I swapped over to twitch, the following didn’t transfer. I tried for a while, but it never picked back up to the height that it once was. I think about going back to content creation often, but with such a saturated space and real life obligations, it’s just not worth it for me. Hope the success of this video can get you somewhere in the creator space!

I can relate to this so hard, I've been streaming regularly for 5 years on twitch, and if I try new games outside of what I normally stream I get 0 interaction, it really makes it challenging sometimes when all you want is someone to chat with, and you feel burned out with the normal games. I know one thing tho, even though I've streamed to 0 people more times then I can count, the moments where things happen just makes it all worth it, and the reason I haven't stopped is due to the people I've had fun meeting over the years. and it's due to that which is why I don't intend to stop my streaming career anytime soon. Keep up the streams and never give up, enjoy streams the way you want too, do what makes you happy

I streamed consistently for 3 months and then I decided to stop. I think the main things that gets people views, even if its just 5-10 per stream, is hard work, endurance, personality, and most of all, friendships. Streaming while playing with friends is a great way to not feel lonely even if you're not getting any views. But I realized that soon my life would get just too busy to keep up the streaming endurance, and hard work. I have no personality, and little to no online friends.
It took me a little big to get out of the hole that I dug, but I was right when I stopped, my life did get busy. I have no time to stream anymore, no energy, I have a couple friends but I just let them do their own thing when they're streaming their games or just playing games for fun.
Streaming for 3 months was alright, but it was time for me to let that ship sail and cross a different bridge in my life. If you really want to stream, then keep at it. People will watch eventually, it just takes time.

Thing about places like Twitch is that for new people it's extremely hard to stand out from behind already well established figures. You have to get really creative in what to do, cause if you try to do what many people already do, you wont get far. Try to be different, try out new things/games. Because if you hop on trends, don't matter how quick you are to do so, bigger streamers will always hog the spotlight.

To be Honest, Twitch has the worst algorithm, thats why you shouldnt start on it, start on RUclips, it usally exposes smaller creators more than Twitch does
