Good call. I own a number of pistols but if have to fight for my life using a handgun let it be the 1911. I also own a Benelli M4 which is the most versatile and dependable shotgun I've ever owned . I have 2 ARs
My husband says his glock 20 (10mm), a AR-10 (.308) and semi auto .22 rifle like a 10/22 or a savage a22. for me a glock 19 , kel Ted sub 2000 in 9mm in the g19 configuration and Savage axis 308
Why its low recoil, light, suppress nicely, its probably one of the most abundant calibers in the world. If I could only have 3 guns a 9mm pistol and a 9mm carbine are great choices, a carbine can be accurate out to 120yards or so the rifles that shoot them are light and share mags with my side arm but also accepts 33 round stick mags and 50 round drum mags, because of the lighter recoil I will be able to transition from target to target quickly and have fast accurate follow up shots. Plus 9mm gains quite the velocity increase from a 16 inch barrel, it can easily get it to 600 pounds of energy range which is in the realm of .357 magnum energy. Plus again ammo is light and so is rifle so if I have to I can hike long distance with them. I'm a 5'4" 100 pound female my gear has to be as light and effective as possible. Having a side arm and rifle that share ammo and is low recoil abundant light and absolutely lethal despite what ppl like to claim would be more effective for me then packing a 10pound AR a 3 pound 1911 with half as many rounds as my g19 and twice the weight plus .45 is probably close to twice the weight of 9mm and 5.56 is also much heavier. And most ppl don't need a battle rifle that reaches out 400 yards. I have a bolt gun for that.
Caylyn Melton if a home intruder broke into my home and I shot him with a 9 mm it would go right through him if I shot him with the 45 he would stay down
That's a common misconception, and is completely false. Most ppl who know ballistic know that the .45 has only a very slight edge over a .45 and with modern ammunition 9mm is very capable. And again double the capacity. So really it boils down to preference because again its been proven .45 is not much more affective holds less ammo and more recoil makinit slower so for me being a small woman I would take a 9mm over any other pistol caliber if I could only have one. 9mm also gets more of a velocity increase then .45 from a loner barrel so again if I could only have 3 gun I take a g19 a keltec sub2000 9mm glock mag configuration and a Savage axis bolt gun. Now because I can have more then 3 guns and the work isn't ending I carry a eaa witness full size sull steel chambered in 10mm which when loaded to proper pressures and not this waters down factory stuff makes .45 and 9mm both look like pussy cat rounds
Lol keep telling your self that lol I'm actually 5'3" 100 pounds and I'm a veterinary technician. And my husband is 5'10" 160 pounds and is a HVAC technician, is studying both automotive performance but physics and ballistics boil down to physics end of story. And no we don't own a gaming system. We spend our free time behind our weapons. I'm a 22 year old women who has probably worn out more rifles then most men have even broke in. But go ahead and keep being an internet troll who cradles his .45 that's been proven to not really be much better then 9mm and only holds half the capacity. Keep on handing out your false info no one asked for ! :)
Accounting for Canadian laws: Tikka T3X Varmint Beretta A300 Outlander (great for shooting clays as well as hunting) Swiss Arms PE90 If laws weren't an issue: SG 551 LB (with both the standard and aluminum STANAG lowers for it) Benelli M2 field (with a tube extension, it becomes great for 3-gun) Walther PPQ (awesome trigger)
Easy: A Glock 19 for home defense and EDC on the winter. A Glock 43X with PSA Micro 15 round mags for EDC. And a rifle IWI Zion-15 chambered in 5.56 for home defense.
Update January 2024: A Taurus TX22 in 22 LR for training. A Glock 19 (9 mm) for EDC & home defense, and a cheap PSA midlength AR-15 (5.56) for home defense.
DoxTan Also about the shotguns, I like them for their versatility and power. At distance the resembling the inside of a house the 3" buckshot has the same in energy as the .30-06 Springfield but has an over fifteen times larger area of direct damage (as in 15 ~.33 caliber holes vs. 1 ~.31 caliber hole). Also the slug can be used to bring down anything smaller than a moose or a bear, range being the only issue.

Jose O why would you prefer the 870 over the Mossberg 500 series? Remington is a trash gun manufacturer. The only gun I've had from them that I liked was the R m700
I cant decide 1911 or browning hi power or Makarov Then I would take a 870 or a k98 Old Ak74 short barrel or hk416 style ar15 ~ galil you’re getting best of both really
Browning hi power has a magazine disconnect so I wouldn’t put my life in the hands of it, Makarov’s are great guns but the cartridge just isn’t regularly available. 1911 is a good one (reliability isn’t always there though). Remington 870 is a classic and very reliable and rugged design so I would go with that. The k98 is outdated and takes longer to long to reload, but range is on your side. As for the rifles the hk416 styled AR is probably one of your more expensive options, but easily your most accurate, however it doesn’t have the reliability of an AK or a Galil. Galil’s are heavier then both AK’s and AR’s, you can’t replace their parts easily if something breaks, and mags aren’t vary reliable unless you get an IWI which is still pretty trash. All and all an AK74 is your best bet since it has the accuracy of the 223 cartridge and the durability of an AK. Also many 47 parts are interchangeable with the 74 so fixing the gun if a problem were to arise wouldn’t be a problem. Only issue is cartridge availability
I'm from Germany I would go for a 1) Sauer 101 GTI in 8*57 IS (Bolt Action) 2) Beretta 686 Silver Pidgeon GC (Shotgun) 3) H&K SFP 9 (Pistol) I already own 1 & 2 and I wouldn't give them away for anything in the world, they are just great Nr. 3 is also a good and reliable gun, very easy to use/clean

On the AR15 swap out the pistol grip with a compartment grip. Add a field repair kit and spare complete bolt. This way repairs or replace of loss parts can be done in the field.
I already know what I’d choose, it was pretty easy for me since 2 were 2 of my first guns, my Ruger 10/22 and Remington 870. Those two would cover food hunting and basic SD. Now the third was a bit tougher because I was torn between my Springfield XD 16 round 4” 9mm, and one AR15. Then I figured it out! I’ll keep the XD, and since my wife gets three as well, she’ll keep two ARs , a rifle and pistol version, and a hand gun. Also a 9mm Springfield XD for ammo continuity. That’s about as good as I can figure it. The ARs are great for defense, and where I live we have deer and hogs , so , at longer than shotgun range, the AR will cover meat hunting as well. Not an ideal medium game choice, but one proven effective many times over. It would be tough letting any of the others go, but , from a practicality standpoint point, it was the most use per gun I had to go with, not which were my favorites.
Well good luck carrying 1/4 the ammo as everyone else and at best 1/2 the internal capacity as modern firearms allow. I’m sorry to break it to you but advancements in every way have been made since 1945.
Sir Galahad capacity isn’t everything. Just because these guns don’t hold as many rounds doesn’t make them a unviable option. The 1911a1 is one of the most caried handguns. The m1 garand is a powerful high range and accurate rifle. And the m1897 compared to other shotguns isn’t really that different.
Gunmanplaza You’re right, they’re just as powerful and accurate as modern guns, however they weigh almost twice as much and hold half as any rounds (or less) as their modern counterparts in all three cases. Reliability/durability isn’t exactly the 1911 or M1As best department compared to more modern guns either... I’m not implying they’re bad guns, I’m just saying they aren’t as good as modern guns in several important aspects.
Rifle: AR-15 in 5.56 (16" free-floated barrel) with a secondary 6.5 Grendel upper (18" or 20" free-floated barrel). Also a CMMG .22LR conversion kit. Shotgun: 12g Mossberg 590 Mariner. Handgun: Still trying to figure out that one. I'd really like a quality DA to SA pistol with no manual safety, has a decocker, and is full size. Not sure what caliber, as I really like the Astra A-100 in .40S&W that I have, but more and more 9mm seems to be the better choice for if you can only have one. I hate the grips Glock has, so no friggin' Glock. The Springfield XD9 Defender has caught my eye as an used one is affordable, but I really like the Sig P22X series. While the CZ-75 isn't my favorite, it is the one I can shoot the best for some reason. Beretta 92 pistols don't jive with me, and for some reason are incredibly difficult to shoot well compared to other pistols. Could just be the one I tried, but I think the 92 is a no-go for me.
Those are legit weapons to own. Yeah they are pricey but they do what they intend perfectly well. Besides, what kind of reality would you live in if you could only own 3 weapons to begin with?
The AR10 maybe more practical to own but there is a reason the US Army has selected the HK417 as their DMR rifle over the AR10. I can see why he would settle for a MP7 rather than a pistol, it is marginally better than one. Honestly if I gave you a choice between a pistol and an MP7 which one would you pick? dont lie to yourself. Even if he isnt "military trained" to shoot in ful auto, who cares? it has a fire selector so he can shoot in singles as well. As far as the AWM .300, who could say no to that? Noone here is talking restrictions of owning, that as far as im concerned was not specified in this video. Anyhow, the MP9 is a nice replacement as someone else stated.
Glad to hear you say you would change uppers or adapt calibers. Glock 22 with a 357sig barrel and a 9mm conversion barrel and a .22lr upper adaper. AR15 in .223 wilde, with a 6.5 Grendel 18'' upper and a .22lr upper. 12ga over/under shotgun with common caliber adaptors from Shortlane.

I agree. 870, ar15, torn on a pistol. Have a devoted .22lr upper. Love commonality. .45 pistol,or .22lr pistol for myself. Thank you for this awesome video. Be safe!
Quality AR like Daniel Defense (parts readily available and a proven system) Remington 870 or FNH SLP (depending on preference between pump/semiauto - both are great) Glock 19 (boring, but utilitarian and reliable).
For most people, they are not intending on going to war. Their guns are for recreation and/or self protection. I would chose a 22 cal, for plinking (target practice), a Glock 9mm for personal protection and a 12 gauge shotgun for recreational hunting. All these could be purchased new for under $1,000. Glock 9mm $500, 22mm hand gun $250, Charles Daly 301 12 gauge $230.
Handgun: 9mm Beretta PX4. My favorite handgun so far. Comfy, and dead nuts reliable. Rifle: M1A. Either the Socom, or the Scout. I'm big and slow, so I don't need the hard charging AR to zip around laying waste. Shotgun: Same. Remington 870 Express. Great for home defense. Not a hunter, BUT... could be pressed into multiple roles as needed.

3. Mac 11 mpa or a 22 Savage
Caylyn Melton did your husband tell u to say that
Accounting for Canadian laws:
Tikka T3X Varmint
Beretta A300 Outlander (great for shooting clays as well as hunting)
Swiss Arms PE90
If laws weren't an issue:
SG 551 LB (with both the standard and aluminum STANAG lowers for it)
Benelli M2 field (with a tube extension, it becomes great for 3-gun)
Walther PPQ (awesome trigger)
why would an M2 be an issue? those are sold everywhere, its the M1 and M3 that are no-gos
1. Ruger SR1911
2. Benelli Supernova
3. IWI Galil ACE
1. A Colt Python with a 4-inch barrel.
2. A Remington Model 870 Police with an 18-inch barrel.
3. A Steyr AUG.
I kinda agree but I would switch your remmington shotgun for a remmington 700 sniper for hunting
+DoxTan Good call, but I would go further and get a Winchester Model 70 Sporter in .30-06 Springfield. Overall a bit more capable round.
+Markus FIN good idea! sadly I only own a m4 and a colt in airsoft I could have them from my cousin
Also the slug can be used to bring down anything smaller than a moose or a bear, range being the only issue.
i love augs
Rifle: AK 47. Maybe the WASR 10
Shotgun: Mossberg 590 A1
Pistol: either a Makarov or Walther PPQ.
If you want to point anything out tell me
I sense a Russian in you
iDatedMyPizza why the wasr 10?
When he said 9mm was cheap and available everywhere I broke out laughing!🤣

Edit:
(2022) From a later perspective what I would want is,
An M16a1
A Lee Enfield No4
and a Franchi Affinity 3 in wood
i would choose:
the Calico Liberty 3
the liberator
the gyrojet
All very solid choices! reliability is key. ;)

That thing looks awesome
Jose O why would you prefer the 870 over the Mossberg 500 series? Remington is a trash gun manufacturer. The only gun I've had from them that I liked was the R m700

Or, even better, a Glock? An M&P? An XD? A PPQ? Much lighter, and hold more rounds.

Too bad. You're missing out on the lightest polymer frame handgun on the market. PPQ close second.
I cant decide 1911 or browning hi power or Makarov
Then I would take a 870 or a k98
Old Ak74 short barrel or hk416 style ar15 ~ galil you’re getting best of both really
Makarov 9×18 ammo is outdated
HI POWER IS ALWAYS THE ANSWER
Videos like these are extremely useful for people like me who live in countries that have restrictions on the amount of firearms you can own.
galil ace
glock 19
870

Not my list at all, but I really like and respect your list. 😊
Galil? Nice
.44 magnum revolver
12 gauge pump
.44 lever action rifle....

that makes a lot sense
When you click on a video that you don't remember watching and finding a review you don't remember writing, 5 years later
I have my mossberg 500, ar15, and next gun I get is a cz75 clone.
DD MK18, Remington 1187, M&P9c, CT Laser grip, with full size 17 rd mags for spares.
Glock 26, Mossberg 500 Flex, M&P 15 Sport 2 AR.
Exactly
You managed to put all the least visually attractive and soulless guns readily available on the us market in on one post, that’s impressive$
1911 in .45ACP, Henry 45-70 Govt, AR10
1. XM-134
2. Barrett 50
3. Desert Eagle 50
If I could magically own anything, it’d be a 240B, m4a1, Glock 19.
Glock no what about 1911 or m9 barreta
I would take:
- .375 H&H
- PPK .380ACP
- AKM 7.62x39 [Romanian Wood Stock]
You think like me
30-30 Marlin / 10-22 Ruger / 9mm 1911 Commander Colt
I'm from Germany
I would go for a
1) Sauer 101 GTI in 8*57 IS (Bolt Action)
2) Beretta 686 Silver Pidgeon GC (Shotgun)
3) H&K SFP 9 (Pistol)
I already own 1 & 2 and I wouldn't give them away for anything in the world, they are just great
Nr. 3 is also a good and reliable gun, very easy to use/clean
thank you jack, i clkd your home page and played the "history" catagory. funny its what my father said he thought would have happened . if you get to usa and would like to shoot phesant sign me at hbpbirds@gmail .com and no need to bring anything special. its a private preserve , would be interested in what's happening on your side of the pond. r.g.wachendorf

I would go with a m1 Garand, a 1911a1, and a m1897 shotgun. I just love the ww2 American firearms
I would go for a Galil, Beretta 92fs, and an Enfield rifle. Even if these maybe aren't practical. But I love them. And they perform nicely.
“9mm because it’s cheap and available everywhere” tears down my eyes. Good thing i did a lil bit of stacking up before this bs.
My three's would be:
1. H&K MP7.
2. HK417.
3. Accuracy international AWM in .300 or .338.
Hardy Marty I don't think that there is a civilian MP7 for sale. There is an MP9 by B&T though.
What, no sidearm?
- MG34
- MG34
- 88mm KwK36 L/56
You get my point, right?
+Karl Wiesmann Panzerkampfwagen Tiger Ausf. E
I would choose
M1 Garand
HK MP5
Remmington 870 12 gauge
I love these guns
Samuel Ze Noob I was wondering if someone would mention the M1 Grande. Greatest battlefield implement ever made.
I just bought my first gun a month ago and I already have more than 3 guns😭😭
Keep your calibers to a minimum
Well things could be worse...
I would be really depressed if I could only have 3 guns 😭
It made my head hurt to think about not having certain classes of firearm. My personal take on it, there are 6 classes to cover for a basic arsenal.
Seriously
I only keep three in the truck.
I mean, black powder doesn’t legally count, so it hopefully doesn’t apply here...
.357Addict Can you elaborate on the 6 classes? Oh wise one
Awesome video I enjoyed it with that being said I made 2 lists of firearms
1. 22 TCM & 9 mm combo
2. AR15 with conversion kits
3. Blaser drillings in multiple calibers
1. Sig P229 357 Sig 40 cal
2. Survival rifle shotgun combo
3. Smith & Wesson 460 revolver
Semi-auto handgun, shotgun, carbine. And enough ammo for all 3.
Only three guns for the rest of my life...
Hmm...
-1911 (Self defense outside of home)
-1897 Winchester (Home defense)
-M1 Garand (Cause I wouldn't be American if I didn't)
Derek Skarb John garand was Canadian
welsh ie but the garand is an American made gun for an American army sooooo
1. Chauchat Mle 1918
2. Type 94 Nambu
3. And the trusty Gyrojet rocket gun
The Jam loadout
Na it is best load out nothing better! they should have melted down all the AR-15s and AKs and made them into T94s, Chauchat Mle 1918, and NASA should have fucked off the moon and not waste money on that but spend it on what really matters the Gyrojet
Alex. C. You are the main reason i follow the where have you been? Honestly 🤟 keep up the good work
A 1911 in 10mm, a arsenal sam7sf, and last but not less a mossberg 590

I agree. 870, ar15, torn on a pistol. Have a devoted .22lr upper. Love commonality. .45 pistol,or .22lr pistol for myself. Thank you for this awesome video. Be safe!
The right answer is "whatever gets me more guns".
Tf?
Quality AR like Daniel Defense (parts readily available and a proven system)
Remington 870 or FNH SLP (depending on preference between pump/semiauto - both are great)
Glock 19 (boring, but utilitarian and reliable).
Good choices.
