The main problem I have with ammo commonality is the fact that if you were to run out of ammo, there's only one ammo caliber that will work for you, whereas if you have two of the most common calibers such as 5.56 and 9mm, you've now doubled your chances of finding ammo that will work for at least one of your firearms.

I also have a stock of about 30k 22lr as I always like a sale. I NEVER buy guns or ammo during panic or ban scares. Have a collection in the low 3 digits but maybe only 25% I actually shoot all can be suppressed, lasers, lights and I SBR all my shorty's no braces.

I like the idea of a 308 gun like a Fal or G3 and with the secondary as a short 12 gauge shotgun for the easy finding ammo, and the 308 for when the shotgun falls short to range.
I like the argument for a 10-22, but also don't forget that there are magazines that hold way more than the 10 rounds, I was kind of surprised none had a 12 gauge shotgun on them, in my opinion that's the most versatile weapon around, though a 22LR and 9mm combo might be best for survivalist situation
HAHAHAHA. That was literally my collection when i was in highschool. A dirt cheap norinco sks and a used s&w model 10 .38 special. The only thing missing is the 50 dollar mauser. Those guns got it done for quite some time. 8mm mauser put the pain on some hogs. Traded the sks for a shotgun. Dont miss it.
I like the "commonality" aspect. Ammo commonality AND magazine commonality. A 9mm PCC that uses Glock mags and then a Glock 17 or 19, and 9mm through a PCC is powerful "enough".
What I really dislike about that aspect is that you're going through one type of ammo and magazine twice as quickly. Whats nice about having two different ammo types is you can go through your stash quite slower then if you ran two guns that took out of one pile.

Marlin 336, Winchester 94. Either in 30/30. Granted alot of extra moving parts and a bit harder to clean but extreamly reliable. And pistol wise its hard to say. It all depends on where you live.

Glock 22 or 23 would be my choice over the 17 or 19. Conversion barrels and some 9mm mags make them a 3 caliber system and still very reliable. Also parts from 17/19 will work in the 22/23. If the end of the world come best to be left with options in the long haul.

You hit the nail on the head when it comes to commonality. With that though, the AK is an outstanding rifle but has no place on this list. In this scenario your resupply is based on whatever you can loot from an abandoned police station or barter for after the military dissolves. That means AR platforms (.223/5.56) and 9mm Glocks (preferably an early generation 19).
Lets be honest the best Boogaloadout group is, what you have on hand. Personally I think the Glock is an over rated POS, and I have used and carried the 19. A machete is excellent. The rifles in my locker are the M-1 Carbine, Mini-14, SKS/AK. A good pump 12 with a slug barrel. Pistols are a 1911, Colt MkV in .357.

Since Federal came out with the 22LR Punch, I have converted to 22LR and 12 gauge shotgun totally. When I was a grunt in Vietnam I saw what a .223 (just a hair bigger than a 22LR) could do. Since then I have done a lot of research on 22LR and what they do. From my research, the 22 and the 12 gauge have killed more people than all the other cartridges combined (mafioso from what I understand) because even if you don't get a head shot the 22 will travel to different parts of the body using FMJ. Using a hollowpoint they don't travel because they expand and impede their own progress. Not good if you are meaning to be lethal IMHO. I am getting ready to sell: Glock 26 9MM, Ruger LCP 380, Walther P380 (380 caliber), Walther P22 which has never been fired. The Walther P380 has had 7 rounds fired in total.

The FAL is also a very nice firing gun because it is a little heavier. My DSA FAL even shoots nicer than my FN SCAR 17s due to the added weight.

I like the idea of a 308 gun like a Fal or G3 and with the secondary as a short 12 gauge shotgun for the easy finding ammo, and the 308 for when the shotgun falls short to range.
308 isn't all that common though so I would just go for a 5.56 since you can probably find that in most police stations

I like the argument for a 10-22, but also don't forget that there are magazines that hold way more than the 10 rounds, I was kind of surprised none had a 12 gauge shotgun on them, in my opinion that's the most versatile weapon around, though a 22LR and 9mm combo might be best for survivalist situation

I like the "commonality" aspect. Ammo commonality AND magazine commonality. A 9mm PCC that uses Glock mags and then a Glock 17 or 19, and 9mm through a PCC is powerful "enough".

What I really dislike about that aspect is that you're going through one type of ammo and magazine twice as quickly. Whats nice about having two different ammo types is you can go through your stash quite slower then if you ran two guns that took out of one pile.

6:48 I would modify that slightly to a Ruger 10/22 takedown model with the Magpul backpacker stock. It will fit in your backpack and works great as a concealed carry rifle when bugging out on your bicycle.
You hit the nail on the head when it comes to commonality. With that though, the AK is an outstanding rifle but has no place on this list. In this scenario your resupply is based on whatever you can loot from an abandoned police station or barter for after the military dissolves. That means AR platforms (.223/5.56) and 9mm Glocks (preferably an early generation 19).

Since Federal came out with the 22LR Punch, I have converted to 22LR and 12 gauge shotgun totally. When I was a grunt in Vietnam I saw what a .223 (just a hair bigger than a 22LR) could do. Since then I have done a lot of research on 22LR and what they do. From my research, the 22 and the 12 gauge have killed more people than all the other cartridges combined (mafioso from what I understand) because even if you don't get a head shot the 22 will travel to different parts of the body using FMJ. Using a hollowpoint they don't travel because they expand and impede their own progress. Not good if you are meaning to be lethal IMHO. I am getting ready to sell: Glock 26 9MM, Ruger LCP 380, Walther P380 (380 caliber), Walther P22 which has never been fired. The Walther P380 has had 7 rounds fired in total.

A Rock River Arms Elite Operator was my choice when I bought an AR-15. It's a robust firearm that shoots very well. It's accurate, breaks down easily, takes lots of accessories, and I love it. Now, for the crux choice. My handgun choice is going to be controversial. A Ruger P-85. I got one of these in 1987 as my sidearm when I was a private investigator and bodyguard. It's reliable and accurate; in fact, I shoot more accurately with it than any other handgun.
