Dang, can't believe that you brought up Sonny Crockett and his guns without also mentioning his backup - the Detonics Combat Master. Very rad for the time.
Ecto coolers and GI Joe after school was awesome, I never watched Jem but my sister did. Really surprised the producers did give Crockett a Glock, they were brand new at the time and technologically ahead of everything.
In "Cuba Libre" Crockett only takes the Glock 17 off a rebel soldier since his Smith &Wesson 645 was taken from him earlier. Two years later the movie Johnny Handsome (1989) was the first major movie to feature a Glock 17. Speaking of 1980's handguns, I am a little surprised that the Sig Sauer P226 did not make the list since production on it began in 1984 and it quickly become popular with both the military (the Navy SEALS choose it over the Beretta M9 since it held up better under the rigorous testing they subjected it to) and law enforcement community. Additionally, it has many civilian fans as well. Rambo: First Blood Part II (1985) marked its first media appearance and Robocop (1987) marked the first time it was seen firing on camera.
My old man was a Detroit cop in the 80's; he carried a 4" Smith 686 "Distinguished Combat Magnum" which came out in 1981. Give the 80's the revolver love it deserves!
Fun story; he got a call for a dude at a McDonald's with a knife. He showed up to find a black dude at a table, drunk off his ass, trying to open his cigarette pack with a pocket knife. My dad opened it for him and gave him a ride home. The 80's were indeed better times. When he dropped him off at his apartment, they smoked a cigarette and my dad listened to him tell his troubles.

You forgot how Arnold used an Uzi in the original Terminator! I was totally expecting that club scene when I saw the Uzi on your list! I wish we could still buy full auto at your local FFL!!
That and the Phased Plasma Rifle in the 40 watt range.
I was a little disappointed that we didn't hear "oosee nein millehmeetah".
i loved my brother's .44 Eagle. The magazine might have been small, but at that weight when you're outta ammo you just beat them to death with that monster
I miss the 80's. Girls looked hot, cars were cool, new wave music and dance clubs. Must not forget about those great aerobic shows like the 20 minute workout, those girls looked good while having your morning coffee. 😁
Those were the days. Instead of leftist commentators in the morning, ESPN had blondes stretching in thong leotards. They definitely helped you “get up”!
You misspelled "morning wank."
@@rickc2102 morning “jerk sesh”
Wished I was born in the 80s instead of 2000. I love all the tech we have these days, but I feel like I missed out on so much. My parents were born in 77 and 78 respectively so it's always fun hearing their childhood stories, bur they were just kids back then so I don't get to hear too many crazy stories as adults/teenagers who grew up in the 80s.
@@JacksonWalter735 1977 and 1978 were some good years too. I remember seeing Star Wars in the theater back then and the theater didn't have an empty seat at any showing. Roller skating at the roller rinks was damn fun also during those days.
I for one am thankful we didn't have today's technology and being attached to phones and computers as kids are now.
Reeves doesn't actually think we think he is playing dress up right?
The Desert Eagle was also in Harley Davidson and The Marlboro Man.....another cool movie!
First gun channel I see where the jokes actualy hit, and damn they hit good :D
Even filled your pants extra when shooting the deagle, truly amazing attention to detail
Uzi's were also featured in one of my favorite 80's movies, Running Scared. Excellent vid!
I grew up in the 80s and it was a great time to be alive! Guns we're made out of steel and big!!!
I miss the 80's. Michael Mann was doing something no one had ever done before with Miami Vice, music kicked ass and people didn't hate each other. The 90's were great, too.
The 90s brought upon us Brittney Spears, N’ Sync, the Backstreet Boys, Milli Vanilli, and the rise of Pauly Shore, Carson Daily, Jar Jar Binks...the 90s sucked
@@MrShredtilldead but the 2000s were good
Sorry but 80's music is horrible. I'd rather listen to cats being torturefucked to death.
@@salazam Andrew Lloyd Webbers musical "CATS" was first preformed in 1981. Cheers.
@@PerfectionHunter That's gay that you know that.
one of those "mythical" gun of the 80's (and/or 90's) would be Pancor Jackhammer, almost every 80's & 90's kids may knew it but never seen it in flesh and only 1 single youtube video of that original gun.
Forgotten Weapons episode right?
You have great taste.
The Living Daylights was amazing.
Miami Vice will always be the greatest tv show ever.
Fantastic dope video man. Glad the Bren 10 was on the list. IMO it’s the definitive gun of the 80s.
Me and my BFF love referencing 1999 Hulk Hogan fashion whenever we can, so I appreciated the hell out of that JNCO pic.
I love the music you guys use. Can we get a "James Reeves best music to wear short shorts in" Playlist? No joke dig the tune.
Man when I was a stupid kid I thought that the desert eagle wasn’t just the coolest handgun but also a practical one
Me too until I shot one. On the upside it will teach you not to ride your thumbs on the slide.
The early 80s were so much fun. You can order select fire trigger groups right from Shotgun News for HKs. Select fire kits for all kinds of firearms including open bolt are 7 fire 25 rounds before the first empty shell hits the ground. Sounds like a air tool. Found 6 stamped steal 25rd magazines back then. Dont know anyone thats into guns anymore. So they sit.
Those 80's character impersonations were hilarious. This is one of your better videos. Great job.
Don’t forget the Desert Eagle in a modified form was in Red Heat with Arnold Schwarzenegger
And the greatest homage to action movies ever, The Last Action Hero.
@@indiedavecomix3882 shoot I forgot about that one
@@indiedavecomix3882 That's a 90's movie though...
His regular big ass russian gun was sick too. I forget what it was but it was huuuuuuuuge. Also the main badguy in that movie has a arm sling single shot derringer style shotgun. Another sick gun.
@@mkII. the Podbyrin 9.2mm is what they called it....what it was is a 357 Desert Eagle modified to look more “Soviet”
The “Sleeve pistol” was a DA38 O/U daringer that was modified to a 12G

Only James can TEC-9 while looking at the camera and give me both chills and chub...

Funny, I was born in late 1995 and watched all 80s films when I was 4.
@@TheHitman644 I really like "Pale Rider" with Clint Eastwood. Think that movie came on to the screens in 1987.

Iconic 1980's Guns How could You not include the Beretta 92
Wrong decade
I think the 92 line was started around 1973/75 because it was the same year that CZ started the 75 series. I might be off by a yr. because I'm going by memory.
He said guns that didn’t suck lol
@@tfbtv Original Beretta Yes Beretta 92F was 1980's. Die Hard, Lethal Weapon both used the same model 92F. Fun topic and Great list regardless.
I fuckin love when James hosts videos. Makes me laugh and forget about the poop stained world for a few. Thank you sir
Maybe you should move if you live in poop. That's not good for you, bro.
I was born in the 80's so.. Yes they were awesome.
Growing up in the 80s at ages 14 - 24 were even better....lol
awesome. definitely deserves a sequel, or a series that goes over the '60s, '70s, etc.
I have a chubby for ghetto blasters, HeMan, and Ecto Coolers as well.
As well as pre-polymer Smiths, which look like the love child of a Sig and a 1911.
I remember the day the wife and I saw The Living Daylights in the theater. It was a very good day we had, damn I miss the 80's.
Going to high school in the 80s was the best. Femininity and masculinity were both embraced.
I would add the AUG to the mix
now THIS is the TFB content I subscribe for!
Remember the Desert Eagle in "Snatch" carried by Vinne Jones? Little later than 89 but a classic cameo, none the less.
The slow mo of the desert eagle being shot was amazing. Lol
Good video I really liked this one a lot!
"Just remember what ol' Jack Burton does when the earth quakes, the poison arrows fall from the sky, and the pillars of Heaven shake. Yeah, Jack Burton just looks that big old storm right in the eye and says, "Give me your best shot. I can take it."
Big Trouble in Little China- Jack Burton
It's all in the reflexes
“Who is Jack Burton?” One of the bad Chinese dudes 😎
It amazes me how they call a movie with only two white actors racist these days..
They claim only white people can be racist and every other actor in that movie was Asian..
The double standards of the SJWs..
@@zakofrx the other thing people forget is that Jack Burton was basically a sidekick who THOUGHT he was the hero.
I can't find the clip of that line on RUclips, does anyone have a link?
btw the living daylights is not only the best bond film of the 80s, it's the best bond film, and also the best bond opening song.
I choose License To Kill as my favorite. Dalton was a great Bond.
"If you hit anything, it's a bonus". That's one hell of an endorsement!

Love those 80's guns. I grew up in the 80's so I wasn't old enough to buy all these gems then.
I was born in the 90's and I don't think I have ever seen anyone with a tank top tucked in irl
James, you forgot Sonny Crocket's backup gun. The Detonics Combat Master in .45ACP. He carried it in an ankle holster.
Excellent video. The shooting clips in costumes were simply amazing.
I count myself lucky to have grown up in the 80’s
Just came across your channel, awesome!!!! One '80s reference you missed for the Uzi was the attempted assassination of President Reagan in '81. One of his Secret Service guys pulled one from under his jacket as his team mates wrestled John Hinckley to the ground.
Love the subtle random VCR tracking effect. Kudos to your editor!
