- Hi everyone! This week we get to have a look at Agent 223s latest field find: a very rare 1961 Volkswagen 15 Window bus! Jim dragged this treasure out of the trees a couple of weeks ago (recovery video to come!), and we got to have a look at it before he even got it off the trailer... Jim is always up to 10 things at once, so we walked around the farm to see what else was cookin' at the same time! I've been going at the Citroen DS project pretty steady, and we'll catch up a bit on that one, too... The forklift is getting some much-needed attention, and we c=get to take the 1967 Plymouth Fury for a drive, too! Agent 0842 stopped in to show off some sweet rims, and Agent 024 knows when it is time to "take a break"!

Funny, as a long time VW bus enthusiast (30 plus years) this is the first CWM episode where I knew exactly what I was looking at, exactly what to do to fix it, and exactly why I am burned out on them.
Keep it coming!
what a great 15 window, congrads jim
Ha, I was just thinking of you Mustie. This condition is indicative of we see out west.
was just thinking of making a comment that mustie would consider this bus as mint
Mustie1 is a CWM guy??? I knew I liked Mustie!
What's 'scary' is the underside of that VW Bus looks to be in better shape than upper body.........................and the dashboard looks almost cherry.
Funny mustie
“We all make fun of Dean, then go and do the same shit” That’s life!
Thanks for the entertainment once again! My favorite channel by far! You can use the forklift scrapings for asphalting the driveway!
That Datsun..those wheels...oh momma
It couldn't look better! I want that car so much.
I was on the edge of my seat when Stephen found that silver denarius of the emperor Vespasian next to the perished rubber hose and transmission breather.
The VW bus is SO COOL. I’m a broken record, I know, but it’s all kinds of awesome that you guys have each other to share enthusiasm for this esoterica. That’s maybe a rare thing.
One of my earliest memories... riding in a VDub Bus in central America, Nicaragua, Mom's home country. Watching the road go by thru the rusty floor!!
Highlight of my weekly TV watching. Thank you all.
It’s the thing I look forward to most every Saturday!
Bacon eggs coffee and Agents
The Continental is superb
15 window deluxe wow ✌✌✌✌
Mustie1 would be proud of the kombi.
Will we be able to follow Jim's VW at venture on CWM? Would be great. Congratulations on this great find.
We'll definitely be following along when Jim tears into the bus! Cheers from here...
I've been involved in a lot of Volkswagen comedies over the years. That Bus is a gem. They are really hard to find in that kind of shape anymore.
Referring to good or not-so-good shape?
@@jeffryblackmon4846 good shape, most of them are missing the bottom four inches of van from rust.
This is probably a $75k van if he restores it. Not much less if a "patina."
@@stevevarholy2011 ~ Wow
Steve Varholy definitely. Wonder what it cost ? ( not to be nosy )
yall make great vids keep it up
That bus is awesome, I’d have bought that in a heartbeat!
That Citroen DS was one of the best car ever made....If not the best.....Thanks Guy's y'all are the best....Fun to watch video's....From hot Kentucky....!
Awesome,, thanks Scott and agents
That is a killer bus, if people say it rusty junk they definitely don’t know VWs. Great score Jim. Great find glad to see another one being saved.
Thank you for the great content, I look forward to watching this show every other day.
Thanks for this weeks video Scott lots of interesting things going on, really enjoyed it.
Another great video. Looking forward to the next.
Frankers looked so proud riding in the fury!
She's always on hand to steal a scene - right on cue, of course.:)
I've spent the last week stripping paint from Model T wheels... So It's uplifting to hear other people lie to themselves about their "not in bad shape" project... It's comforting to know your not alone in your misery..
"None of the electricals work, but it's pleasant enough". I love y'all, dammit!
ANOTHER CAT SCAN
Me three!
me 4
Go nana th og feline apprentice
Me alto
The '67 Fury would make a terrific DD
Thank you Scott!
Jim should be able to whistle that van up in a weekend.
Yeah that'll dial right in.
My uncle had a ‘68 Fury that was a drab green color. My Dad used to refer to it as “the squad car.”
Happy Father’s Day!
Wholly farfegnugen! Jim is on a roll!
Best line ''not much to none."
Dang it Jim as a VW brother myself you got a hell of a GREAT split window sir. VERY VERY VERY VERY lucky man! The fact that you Jacked it up by the jack points blows my mind as you said normally the jack would become one with the van. Really incredible since it was sitting on the ground. Congrats!!!!!! to you Sir.
Congrats Jim great Sealing wax red VW Bus Score 🤙
DAMMIT JIM , LEAVE SOME CARS FOR THE REST OF US!!!!
"Oh, yeah" -Jim
Yeaaaa ! The forklift is getting fixed ! Now it can be used for what it was intended. I think Scott will get very creative in it's use.
Massive amount of yard work finished, FINALLY.. dinner eaten.. NOW it's coldwarmotors time!! ALRIGHT! Scott, you and the agents and Frankers are always a welcome respite from the drudgery of weekend chores, thanks ONCE AGAIN for another awesome video!
I have been watching the show now for a long time and I don't think I have ever seen you get rid of a car. I am simply amazed, not that the car was worth keeping after you stripped it but that you actually got rid of it. Jim is indeed a lucky man, I am no VW fan but the Mark II, that is to die for. My mother had a 68 Fury I with a 318 and an automatic with a radio, it was a great car.
I miss my dog.Actually, all of them. Frankers is special. I loved seeing her sit in the passenger seat as you drove around.
Nice bus. As kids we had a roof off one of those that we used as a boat/canoe.
The old split window bus is a classic man. Hard to locate now a days. Jim has the lucky charms it seems.
Your vids are an absolute tonic, many thanks.
Coldwarmotors is the perfect way to enjoy a rainy day. Thank you Scott and all the other agents. It's a ton of work!
So much fun! Thanks Scott!!
Congrats to Jim! Nice 15 window bus - they are getting scarce. This is a nice starting point for a patina driver 😊 Usually these are rusted really badly. The engines appear to be 36 horse - this bus would have had a "bastard 40 horse." The original engines were problematic, and most were replaced with 40 horse engines.
Thank you for the video!
" it's a bit of a project " Jim 2020 " you think, haha ?" Scott 2020, yeeewww, I've seen some crusty VW vans before, but this one needs some love :) great find Jim !!
Opening reminded me of Stella. Miss her. I hope you kept the carb off the slant. It was still good
Another great video ! Love my Saturday Afternoons.
That Van is in great shape really once its sandblasted and a bit a patch work! and repaint it, She'll look freaking new the undercarriage is in amazing condition. You never find them this good. Not in Canada that's for sure. Jim must be stoked.
It's all happening over at Scott's place. Busy week. And a game auto skittles to finish. Excellent.
The Jim and Scott review. You guys need to take it on the road. Scott the straight man and Jim's improv is unlimited. "I guess you call this a project". Best of Best.
Awesome awesome video thank you
It is like you said before there is a big difference between surface rust and rot lol That bus is amazing there is still so much life left in it.
Thank you all very much, the yellow stationwagon is awesome, I am quite partial to some decent rust honestly, but the wagon deserves it's own CWM 'Autumn Selection' t-shirt 😀👍
Whoa! Jim's bus IS really good! You gotta keep us posted on that one.
I like little things here that keep the prospectively and solo solid grounds
Great score Jim! Lots of work to do but super score.
Thanks for another hour of coolness
congrats to Jim, a high hinge bus and a 15 window to boot.
That bus, what a find!! Hell yeah, I would have bought it too! I have learned a lot about Citron from your videos. Many people hate them, but they really are an engineering marvel. No other company paid that much attention to detail.
We grew up with a a 1963 VW microbus, just like this - 15 window in seafoam green. Nice!
My "Turn Up The Base" t-shirt arrived just in time for its inaugural wearing to be celebrated watching this installment of CWM! Felt like a Mousketeer, TBH. The quality of the fabric and the graphic went far beyond what I expected, incidentally. Really nicely done. My parents had a '59 Kingswood wagon in the same blue as the Biscayne, so I had to have that shirt! Caused so many wonderful memories of my childhood to come flooding back. Thank you. This episode was even better than your usual sterling efforts. The VW bus (an incredible find), the Luxury Car Parlor (a rare treat with a side of garlic cultivation), the Datsun 510 wheels (it don't get no better than new in box), the '67 Fury floating majestically across the Canadian prairie, Frankers frolicking fetchingly, an archaeological dig in the forklift, and the Citroen. Scott, your reverence while opening the packaging on that aluminum part spoke volumes. Epic content this week! You guys are always a pleasure to watch and I look forward to your Saturday postings enormously. My best to all y'all, Scott, Frankers, and the Agents, from Dallas, deep in the heart of Texas.
I wish mine would show up. It was due last Wednesday, and UPS has no clue where it is. They say it was transferred to the US Postal Service (for some reason) but the Post Office has no record of it. I hope it shows up one day.
Once this old split window is fully restored, it will be worth bucket loads of money. Jim may actually get a return on his investment.
The Citroën is looking and coming along quite nice if I may say enjoyed watching take care
NICE CARS I had a 196 Plymouth 4 door VIP 318 AUTO a nice car.
Love the lucky dog intros!
Nice to see some new cars coming into the show from various agents. I like to see the wrenching here and there too. Hope you show more of that Engine swaps, fork lift fixing etc. The perfect amount of dog too!
Sweet 15 window, Jim!!!!
Love the bus what a great find
Perfect Sunday morning, thanks agents
More great entertainment. Jim has found a real treasure with his VW. Hopefully he will allow for us to see progress in a future episode, maybe even make it a feature? The DS maybe a pain to work on but it surely is worth it. You and Agent 7899 sorting the rear window, really interesting, nothing built quite like it, it probably reflects some of the last of bespoke engineering in a modern mass market car. Thanks for posting
The cottonwood trees were a part of out yearly trip to Manitoulin Island. We were privileged to be able to do that fo 30 years. I really miss it.
The VW bus steering wheel style is called a batwing...the old double cabs stored the spare tire behind the front seat. The wheels are rarely intact. The expectation with those busses is the foot will go thru the floor panels. Seriously great find Jim!
Love the paint of the VW Jim! Looks like it crashed the gate at Checkpoint Charlie and driven to freedom! Glad it went to a good home and not flattened by a Russian tank.😉
THIS IS A FINE COLDWARMOTORS PRODUCTION. THANKS FOR SHARING THE ACTIVITIES. The Citroen is a pretty color blue.
That 15 window is gorgeous! I've had several busses but never one of those. Love it!
Love Jim’s VW bus and his zlincoln. Very cool
Love these videos!!
Wow, Jim is in "high Cotton" with his new additions! Forklift is getting high-sorry Dean-you missed the fun.
Glad to see all the guys out and about, Frankers really loves to run, jump and sniff.
Glad everyone is well!
Thanks for the pleasant hour Scott!
Rich
Typ II VW, man that is sweet!! So many projects, but hey life is good.
Great hour of merriment goes by so quick, can not wait for the next one
Another great find! I had a 1958 VW convertible in sealing wax red, faded to more of salmon color.
Love that color on the DS. Those panels already look "perfect" in the video !! These cars appear to be a lot like working on a "Kit" aren't they?? A huge "puzzle" !! Every inch comes apart into infinitely smaller pieces !!! And -------- you guys appear to have "all the pieces" !!! 👍👍👍
Hi Ron! Yeah, they are a completely different animal for sure! All the best as always from me and Frankers and the Agents!
Great content guys!.
"You had to get the bus" @24:04
How many of us have spoken that phrase and justified a purchase. :)
Great find.
Fantastic upload....as always!
Love those wheels on that Datson. Omg Franker sure look like he enjoyed that ride with the Fury
I think that I would make the 67 Fury my daily driver. I just love it........sorry, I channeled Dean for a minute there. But it would be a nice daily driver.
Jim's VW got a cat scan, Jonathan W would approve.
Far from home and my family traveling for work, CWM was just what I needed to feel less homesick. Thank you
Join the club.
15 window deluxe. Got to say I'm a little jealous. What a find. We need updates on this one. Love it. There's a fair few company's that do parts for these in the UK
I love the van and the Lincoln looks amazing!
Great show!
great find on the bus! love it! I have a 67 vw double cab and a 58 vw pressed bumper panel for the busses then we have a 55 oval beetle and 62 standard beetle! LOVE THEM ALL!
I wrote down so many comments, observations and other poop, I decided I was getting bored with them and won’t subject you all to them also.
That DS. Takes a special person and his tolerant friends to do a great job of restoring without going even more crazy.
Thanks for a channel worth watching.
I received my “Turn up the BASE shirt yesterday. Can’t wait for the questions. (Evil laugh).
CA blonde.
We had a 67 fury III station wagon three row seating.
Can't believe the nice stuff that people send you so so cool you guys do great work
That DS is SO cool!
And I'm really glad you decided to save the '67 Plymouth!
I always look forward to your videos. That DS is fantastic. So now the Kaiser is going to get jealous of the 67 Plymouth. Don't park them near each other. Go Canada!
Yeah...people don't get that old cars that look like that in untouched condition are usually better than some with shiny paint and chrome hiding a 1000 lbs of bondo and holes stuffed with newspaper as backing for said bondo.... I'd rather know what I'm starting with.... good score Jim!!!!
Had to do a roof today, heat went away and so did the Sun...my guys rocked it.Then I came home and had alerts from Cold War Motors and project Binky...BEST DAY EVER!
