The reason that you would never see a show like CWM on a current cable channel is that a) there is no random, arbitrary interpersonal drama, b) there is no manufactured drama caused by the rush to meet arbitrary/unrealistic deadlines (the only deadline I can recall was the Citroen one), and c) no way to monetize the program through tie-ins and product placements. Could you imagine an alternate universe version of CWM where, say, Mr. T just happens to drop by to ask Scott to build him a Boogie Van?

They sold Skodas in Canada for a short time in the late fifties and then again in the early 80s. They were rare when new and I haven't seen one in twenty years. A friend of mine drove an 80s model, he remembers what a pain in the neck it was to bleed the air out of the heater because the heater was in the front of the car and the engine in the back, it took a couple of hours to get all the air out but after that the heater worked fine.

Additionally, Scott and the agents have caused me to rethink and gain an appreciation for the sometimes woeful designs of the late fifties and early sixties. A feat I had once considered impossible. So much so that there may be a Dublin Green 1960 Buick LeSabre coming to join the herd at my place. Fingers crossed. Keep up the great work!

Your videos are a bit more impressive though because you show even the nitty gritty details of building these cars for no budget! It’s easy to do when you have sponsors and you have people basically give you everything you need to put a car together.

Nice seeing the Meteor. My grandparents had a '54 Monarch. They took that to Expo '67 and came back with two cars, haha. They bought a new '67 Chrysler Newport. That was one vehicle I wish I had kept but my body skills were none-existent then so I sold it off to a fella that wanted to restore it. The Monarch ended up scrapped but the engine ended up living on in a '53 F-600. The old flathead would run on anything. The only thing we ever had ongoing issues with was the water pumps. They have a left and right water pump and it always seemed like one of them was going. Suffice to say, we got new ones instead of remanufactured ones, from Ford Obsolete in California and never had issues with anymore. A great engine to start working on when I was young since it was pretty forgiving and would just work.

Not even an Alberta winter seems to slow down the CWM warriors. Great episode. Steve's Savoy model is a reverse art tour de force. Dean's carefree bucolic outlook is ever enjoyable. Scott's skill at making a silk purse from a sow's ear that has been dead for 30 years. Tom's Nietzscheian interjections. Franker's, "You talkin' to me" cameos. And then there's Jim. We've all known highly intelligent people. Rare is it to find it in someone who is so unimposing about it- listening to and flowing with the ideas and comments of others. What a great school teacher he would have made. Amazing group of people assembled is such a small, rural town. Look forward to every new segment.

About that ad with Dean: In a GM car you could order about any color combo you wanted into the early 70's and some of them were pretty wonky.

The opening segment had my believing there was another Batman sequel coming out co-starring the Joker(with Dean laughing in the background)! Another great episode and the reason why Saturday night is the best night of the week!

You should have him do up a model for every car you restore for a VERY accurate depiction of the original vehicle before restoration. I think that would be awesome. Congrats on 50K, should be 5Million.

Another great video, thanks. I really liked how you repaired the door panel, you are talented. Don't let anyone tell you any different. I thoroughly enjoyed the segment on Jim's 1953 Ford.
I remember an Uncle that had one, back in the mid 60's. He had rebuilt the flathead in my Grandpa's blacksmith shop. I also drove it many times. It was a real joy driving it. Quiet and powerful to a young driver as I was then,
Keep on doing what you do. Congratulations on 50,000. Be Safe.

Holy mackerel fish! He deserves a platinum medal for the W.O.T. Olympics!!!! Initially I thought it was the real thing until you picked it up! Unbelievable! He is as much a master of the minutia as you are to the real cars!!! Wow! Fantastic!
What a beautiful original score Jim got! I initially thought it was a chev because of the side moldings that seems reminiscent of the side chev moldings like the 59/60 impalas have. Until Jim broke out the ferd book i didn't know it was a ferd. Regardless, it's in pristine condition! And Scott score, you got the jeep!!!
Thank you for everything you do to keep this incredibly awesome channel going! You rightfully should have 5,000,000 subscribers with the spectacular content you insanely provide, you, the agents at large, and we can't forget the 4 leggers too!!! More milk bones please!

Scott, I appreciate all you do. It was interesting to hear your mission statement there. Congrats on the 50K. People don't realise how much work it takes to put up a real good quality video every week. I do the same on a smaller, simpler scale and even that is a lot of work editing etc. You have amazing talents and we the audience are privileged to be able to see the results. Thanks for keeping us entertained for an hour every Saturday night (here in the UK). Mart.

I learned how to drive on my grandfather's 1953 meteor with the thunderbird engine, and his 1948 ford 1/2 ton. In 2012 I bought a 1952 ford Crestline victoria, it was a full restoration, it was ready to put back on the frame, and the place where it was at burnt down, there was nothing left of the car and the person did not have insurance. I was pissed. It was my dream car as I was born in 52, I was keeping it stock the roof was going to be sun gate ivory and body mellow brook green.

That is a beautiful little '53 Ford. I am a huge fan of the old grocery getters like these sedans were. I like the glamour queens too, but everyman cars like these are always going to be my favorites.
