" _it looks so good_ "
It looks brand new. I can only imagine how good it looks in person.
The vinyl upholstery shrinks and hardens with time. The zig zag springs sag... there’s “helper” springs to restore the firmness. I’m sure you know that, Scott. Done this a few times!
What about the monte, doesn't that qualify?
This is my favorite car show! Ya'll are actually funny, not just crass.
Could you explain further about the voltage regulator click? My plymouth does the same thing, but I'm unsure what it is.
When Dean takes the camera in hand, it’s almost like being inside his head. Tilt left, tilt right, settle on something, no wait over here, what does a fluorescent light really look like. It’s an exhilarating ride, if you have no inner ear issues. It turns out inside Dean’s head is a busy busy place.
When I see the Fury I can’t help but think back to Scott crawling around on the gravel drilling spot welds. You can’t even call that a transformation, it’s the work of a magician, incredible.
God's honest truth there junk or bust!!! It's amazing the transformation
“Sooner or later, everything turns into a $500.00 car” should be the B-Side track on the “Jim’s Theme” 45 single.
Check out The Bottlerockets' song Thousand Dollar Car.
@@seed_drill7135 That was a great song. Thank you.
Hell yea. Only on that Wagoneer the way up into big money has already begun, they've achieved the same status as older Toyota Landcruisers and Land Rover Defenders. I would definitely keep it and restore.
Thank you for the tip. Good tune!!
@@seed_drill7135 👍 Good tune! Thank you for the tip!!
I will never tire of Dean's unbridled enthusiasm :)
Where are you going to get this gold piping?
Oh I'm going to make it buddy!
COLDWARMOTORS...that is all.
That Fury is unbelievable sitting in the twilight it's practically otherworldly... I look forward to Saturday afternoon all week!
Me too!
Same here! On Saturday afternoon when I see that notification bell lights up I know my favorite show is on!
ColdWarMotors post is like my weekly TV show that I wait for!
The Fury is phenomenal. The level of detail is incredible and the task was monumental. Those are my big words for the week, back to your regular scheduled program.
Dean's been away too much, had to get all the Deanness out in just a few minutes of screen time. Hahahahaha.
CWM: Nothing to see here, just moving some old cars around.
Everyone else: CAN WE WATCH?!?!
I wonder how many of us subscribers would pay to help with that job? I would. 👍
I used to work on these Jeep’s. A little bit of all the different auto manufacturers. Pass everything but a gas station. 10 mpg with timing set properly, 12 -14 with it spark knocking. It was the tow beast of the time. The body goes back to the early 60’s. If you remove grill and headlamps, it looks like it did in the beginning. You don’t want to get hit by one of these. It’s a master blaster.
probly the best bodyman on youtube voted number one by me how about you ? and he sews ladies
I don’t think just probably.. i think he is the best. I grew up knowing 4 or 5 older body men. They were magical. They never thought of replacing a quarter. Work it out stretch and shrink. I really think he’s better.
Hell yeah Dean, winner of the beater challenge trophy! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🤟🏻🔧🔧 Those Grand Cherokees were all over the states during the 80s and 90s-the rich folks had these while the poor had a minivan. Of course, Chrysler built a wood grain Caravan, too, and it was pricy as it at was white, had tan leather interior, and an upgraded stereo system. I actually worked in a minivan plant in Fenton, Missouri, during the summer of ‘89. Fun stuff!
When I first saw the Wagoneer I said “No, that’s way too nice to drive on salty roads!” Then....
Loved Dean's quip, "welcome back cotter" when you were disassembling the Fury's seat removing the cotter pin. Epic! And that Grand Wagoneer is an awesome Winter destroyer. I'd definitely be all over fixing the rocker and wheel well rusted areas. It would be hard not to want to restore it. Those are rare even around Southern Colorado. Should be well worth a repair effort and cost. Good to see the Fury move by its own power into Winter storage and work area, looking beautiful! One step at a time.
Dean can’t even bask in his winning for a day before Jim already has the beater trophy in his hand !
Ash is correct, that Plymouth looks awesome outside!!!
"If you get bored with it, I'll restore it!" Scott those words are music to my ears. The Wagoneer deserves a restoration. Don't admit defeat, but you guys have your work cut out for you. The Fury is awesome. I can't wait to see the final product.
Driving a T up narrow snow covered ramps in the dark...now that's the kind of stuff they should be teaching in drivers ed!
I have a 1964 Jeep Wagoneer. These things are really special. I would love to see do a full restoration.
Scott, you could get your guitar out and play a little "Secret Agent Man", for Jim's intro. It kind of fits, where does he find those cars?
those grand wagoneers are worth bank down here in lower 48.
Truth! A nice, original brought 60k at auction lately.
Y'all had better step up your winter beater game, that Grand Wagoneer is a solid hit!
Yes, the Chrysler cars upon purchase the mechanics would adjust the seats for the main driver. They did that when the got "the car Ready" after the sale. Their used to be "options that one could purchase at the dealer and those would be added at this time. I remember my Dad bought a brand new 1956 DESOTO 4 door hardtop. They adjusted the seats, added clear vinyl seat covers, and dual antennae. We waited for hours while all this was done before we drove away. What a MARVELOUS feeling! It was a great car and they sold it in 1969 and bought a new Plymouth Belvedere 4 door hardtop.
Yep, a new car every 10 years or so, always a Chrysler product.
Yes, your car seen outside-just improves everything!! Great job Scott!! Rich
Furys never looked that good when they left the factory, yours is like the ones that were prepped for the Detroit Auto Show.
60 Fury is an absolute work of art one beautiful car can't wait to see the seats completed
I think Jim has already taken the trophy for 2021! Scott, I am thinking you need to find a International Travelall or Travellette to maybe top that Wagoneer.
Or a traveler
Or maybe a pickup version of the Scout!
How about a truck?
portland.craigslist.org/clc/cto/d/lake-oswego-1963-international-4x4-33k/7211681842.html
I think you should use the 50 Plymouth as your winter beater.
The lack of a floorboard may cause issue.
@@seed_drill7135 just tack in a bunch of old road signs, it'll be good.
Another great video! You're going to have a hard time beating Jim with that Grand Wagoneer. You should try and trade him out of it and restore it. Those bring big money restored. Thanks Scott, Frankie's and Agents for making my Saturday. Ted
*JIM!*
A choice after my own heart, sir. Well played with the ultimate Winter Beater.
Like Scott, I'm a sucker for the older Grand Cherokees and Grand Wagoneers, resplendent
in all of their quirky AMC glory. AMC engines (V8 please - 360 or 401 especially), 727 Torquefiltes,
Dana axles - wonderful and unstoppable.
Does that one have the low range selector lever under the seat?
I'm also so glad to see a little love laid upon the Plodge. I've been missing her....
Also - is anyone else starting to notice subtle behavior similarities between Frankers and Stella (RIP)?
Tell ya what, y'all feel free to hang on to that frozen death from above as long as you like...
I've always hated the frosty white stuff myself (kinda comes with being a warm-blooded mammal
and all that) and we're still in the 60's-70's during days right now, although the foliage has turned
and it's gorgeous out here in the ridges.
I'd be happy to live the rest of my days in such weather, I surely would...
Anyways, as always THANKS for all your efforts Scott. It's been a grand decade + and I can only wish
you MORE success with the channel (that's a hint, all you folks not currently supporting CWM via
PATREON).
It's truly been a pleasure to be along for the ride, sir.
Y'all be safe up there, here until I can't be,
-Ed on the Ridge
The winter beater over before it begins. Bet on the Wagoneer. I bought a 74 Cherokee in 81, paid $1200 (with a plow), painted camo. Rusty as hell but always would go. Went to Brainerd MN snowmobiling at 35 below, it was the only one that would start.
Seeing the Fury outside, then hearing her run....just like heaven! Jealous of Jims "beater',and I really hope it gets some restoration work. Waiting patiently to see the Boogie Van paint finalised,it looks better every time! I liked watching the seat work, but I REALLY like seeing a piece of trim (or a hubcap) made to look new again! Until I started watching you,I had no idea that shit was even possible! 66th,by the way !!! Yippee !!!
Same here. I didn't know these trim pieces could be fixed. "Necessity is the mother of invention" springs to mind. As bits like that become harder to find, impossible in some cases, repairing sh1tty old ones will soon be the only option. Scott's talent, and patience, should be worth a fortune. 👍
Love when you straighten out those moldings 🏁👍
i dont think we know much about that yellow '59 in the garage...
Date line Alberta Canada: Strange lights were reported at night earlier this week by concerned citizens in Alberta Canada. Residents described seeing bright red lights and large tailfins followed by a whispering low rpm sound. Local authorities have told citizens there is no reason for concern. More details to follow.
The Canadian government can neither confirm nor deny the existence of the world's most beautiful 60 Plymouth seen lately.
@@biglou4559 Was mistaken by some as a pair of Avro Arrows in tight formation.
RCMP Confirms sighting!
The 60 Fury is a MASTERPIECE! I know it’s not finished yet but still a gigantic amount of beautiful work, skill and patience to get her to this point. Take a tremendous bow gentlemen! Outstanding job!!!
Congratulations to Dean for the Winter Beater challenge winner from last year and I agree that it could be a winner for Jim here .... I have to agree with Scott here too ....its worth a save .... I am not crazy about these Jeeps but they are getting super rare ......... Wow ..1973 Johnson snowmobile .... mint and factory equipped with the VDO gauges........ Johnson will shine with a tidy.... major will it run marathon..... The 1960 Fury looked pretty mirror like in the evening light ....... awesome !!!
Those jeeps were tanks thru the brush.
Jim nailed it. There is an outfit here in Texas that is buying all the Wagoneers and restoring them then selling them for big $.
I'm a complete novice when it comes to metal or trim repairs so to watch you work your magic on these is a complete treat to watch 👍
Your metalwork is outstanding I would’ve never of thought you could’ve repaired those trim pieces
Jim's Wagoneer, can not be beaten for a winter beater. In good shape it's a very desirable vehicle for any time of year and any where.
Fixing sheet metal trim, or anything sheet metal, Scott takes us all to school to learn how do it right and not just with sheet metal, but he has a lot of skill sets for other things as we all know on this channel.
The fury in moonlight, like a goddess in blue.
My parents started selling skidoo in 1968. In 69 they took on the Evinrude / Johnson line. They were like Cadillac’s. The early ones had a neutral button on the engine clutch. A nob that pulled out and locked out the dogs in the clutch. Also had stand that flipped down in the back so you could run the track out. IF you could pick that pig up lol. I remember setting those up when they were new. I remember when the Elans first hit the market. That thing was so light compared to everything else on the market and quickly became the sled to put a 399 twin on. We sold chaparrals as well. The CCW engine was a beast. A sled ahead of its time. 👍
The Boogie Van reminds me so much of my childhood growing up in the 70’s. I remember the custom van craze very well. It was a very cool era! The Boogie Van paint work is stunning! Amazing work!
So much entertaining content. First snow wow. The Plymouth looks amazing even in low light, those seats really cleaned up a treat. Interesting to see the attention to detail in the seat frames, extra springing for the driver, and the simple height adjustment. Jim's "winter beater" is a gem. I remember those and the imposing front end.
Plymouth looks amazing outside. Can't wait to see interior covers being made. Looking forward to seeing more.👍👍
I never tire of watching trim repair. Just boggles my mind. How awesome is that T! Too bad the 50 Plymouth needs alot. Maybe if you had nothing else to do. And the fury is beyond first class.
I found an ancient pair of hog ring pliers in my stash recently and showed them to a buddy. He thought I was making it up.
Deans comment: everything needs restoration around here! No truer words were ever spoken! God bless, guys! I would love to hang out with you! Better yet have you hang out with me so I can get some of my stuff fixed up!
Fury...From what ever it was...To that...Star of beauty!!!
It's good to see the '60 outside, the '67 sounds good.
Hi Scott and everyone at Cold War Motors. Jim's got a huge lead on this he winter beater club. I owned one too. Doubled my money. SNOW! The Fury looked surreal in the low lighting. I love that car! I thought you would farm out the seats. Multi-talented upholstery edition. Hi Ashley!.. Mama, let them boys Boogie Woogie!!! P.S. id love to see The Golden Ghost gliding through the drifts. Keep fighting the cold!
Awe man, a Grand Wagoneer. I had an '86 in a maroon colour with the wood. I had it for years. Flip the back seat down for camping...I installed a natural gas system in it toward the end of ownership. I had one in the yard for parts too. Had to let it go due to the frame rot just under the driver's seat I miss that truck !! Should have seen my face when I saw this one !!
Great times guys !
Ahh 👍!!!! Sat just isn't complete without Cold War Motors. Thank You sir!
Hi Scott, that Jonson sure was sweet. Gotta love those old sleds, I however am a die hard Arctic Cat fan... What about a snow mobile race this winter? Nothing newer than 1975, no more then 500 bucks, ten laps around the yard, plus points for most authentic period riding gear (that earns you a head start) winner gets all the bragging rights...
I like that idea
Me too!
Can I enter a SEA DOO
Nice job with those wheel hub covers for the Fury. I love to see the original wheels (etc.) on these classic cars because some of them were just so fancy. I'd love to see a feature on wheel-hub covers sometime, because there were seemingly endless designs, yet this is often ignored in favour of something more modern. Looking Forward (pun intended) to seeing how the Fury seats will be done. -Chairs. (..I mean, Cheers)
Love this show. Glad too see the Fury .
Everything is getting better and better. I believe if someone happened to stand still at CWM (even for just a minute) they would get their fluids and pressures checked, their dents knocked out, sanded, painted and polished. Then darts and refreshing brewed beverages would be enjoyed.
Nice to see the usual suspects this week, Ashter, Jimbo, Deanster etcetera, etcetera, etcetera. The yard is starting to take on a sophistication of sorts. P.S. The Fury and the Boogie Van are very nice vehicles.
First snow, was only ever a good thing when the Snowmobile was ready.
Dean as always is the King. All hail King Dean.
There is so much condensed awesome in this video that I’m at a want for words... I’m not even going to try... Maybe I’ll just say that your retro filling station car garage is fantastic.. Trim repair is brilliant.. Vintage seat repair speaks to what I need myself.. And, RUN-DMC probably didn’t write “It’s Tricky” about vintage salvage, but one could interpret it that way. 👍
Hey Dean who couldn't love Dean 😁😁
You guys are SO much more entertaining that anything on t.v., and right at the top of my list for eagerly awaited new videos.
How about a viewer contest- "Write the lyrics to the music for "Jim's Theme?"
"is that yours?" it's her glove now 🤣
Well it’s Sunday night in the Great South Land , was a hot summers days here and we had a nice car run in the 77 Triumph 2500 S sedan . And then I got home and I had time to catch up with CMW . Bob and I are never disappointed with what plays out. Looking forward to more Fury action and then summer to see her on the road, Ash is right, she is stunning. Jim’s Grand Wagoneer is a treasure, they were sold here in RHD form and I remember them on the showroom floor. Always loved them. Great work and keep it up boys, with Frankers as a supervisor I am sure it will.
Nailed it. Done. Next challenge. 2nd place in the winter beater challenge❗
Saturday night: a beer, a smoke, Cold War Motors. “Boys, It don’t get much better that this”
Fury is looking very very good!
Welcome to Scott's land of misfit cars, that '50 fastback Plymouth is so cool 😎
Yeah it is. Odd that it's got a clock but no radio.
@@chaosdemonwolf1 My Aussie-bodied 1940 Pontiac has a clock in the glovebox door, but no radio. It has a blanking plate over the radio hole, but it appears that the penny-pinching owner 80 years ago didn't order the radio!
@@mattaustin2128 Maybe he wasn't a music lover? lol
The thing is, 𝑒𝑣𝑒𝑟𝑦 car in that yard is cool. No-one lives long enough to restore that many vehicles but most of them run and drive, up to a point, and the lucky few will get the full treatment. I wish the limo was one of the lucky ones. 😁
I sometimes wonder what Scott's collection would be worth. Thinking about it, the batteries alone must be a few $$$s worth. 😁
@@2H80vids absolutely and they may never get a restoration but IMO they're just so bitchin' just as they are 😊
28:04, and i really had this feeling when Frankers came in..... with all that questionmarks over the head and that shocked look! WHAT HAVE YOU DOOOONE!!!! ^^
Love the Grand Wagoneer. I've always been a fan especially when my uncle bought one new in 1979. I.M.O. that was the best vehicle AMC ever made. It's a way too nice to be a winter beater! I want to restore it too. Good luck to Jim.
The Fury is pure jewelry. It looks so great outside. That's a car that'll really turn heads on cruise night!
You fellas just really, really outdid yourselves on the Fury. It looks like what I imagine the original concept car must've looked like.
As always Scott you make my week sane! Highlights of this video. 1 Deans super trophy! . 2 Jims Jeep ( holy smokes! ) 3. Johnson Snowmobile! what a beast 👍👍👍👍👍👍💪💪💪💪 Toms Impala is becoming the new star!
Fury is amazing! When you hear a car patched from 3 others you usually think about a POS junk hacked together, and not something that very mint.
I love this show. It made me the enemy agent spending days on Google maps and CWM driving footages to locate the secret HQ.
But I've got you now, imperialists!
Great to see the fury again. One beautiful car. Can't believe we're into "Winter beater challenge " time again! Best Saturday night entertainment ever. Best wishes from a fan in the UK 🇬🇧
Thee van looks awsome
Damn, the Fury is as straight as an arrow...great seeing it, outdoors! Nothing like a set of wide WW tires, as well. She's a beauty, Scott!
Cold War Motors new drinking game,....every time some one says "Woody" take a drink.
Such a cool old wagoneer!
Scott another great program by a guy who makes it all look so easy from mechanical knowledge, that you know and add more as you go by taking it apart and working with it, same goes for your body work, making those hubcaps and trim bits look proud, you have such mad skills, also very nice you're helping tom with his impala and taking time to work out his trim bit, you are exceeded in generousity only by your number of vehicles, especially all the saves of the unkown classics, KEEP IT UP
I love the ‘victory music’ after the seat spring install !
I'm with you, Scott. I'd love to see the Wagoneer saved!
Those jeeps were beautiful ,I had the pickup version with lots of parts made by other manufactures. My pickup had a Buick 350 from the factory and it went everywhere I ever wanted to go. The only problem I had was body rot. I really miss that truck!
I knew that some Jeeps had the Buick V6 but I've never seen one with a Buick V8. That's pretty cool.
Jim's got this, my 79 Cherokee is unstoppable in snow.
Jim's Grand Wagoneer is gonna be a tough act to follow! Good luck guys...
Jim's Theme is The Hokie Pokie, because That's What It's All About!
I'm with you on those grand wagoneers Scott, turns out Frankers is too,she really wants to go for a tool and give those seats a good sniff! I've always loved those bodies and the sturdiness of them, just a favorite of mine from the first time I saw one.
You guys are the best ! . . . carry on . Winter has met it's match . . . take a break, I have to get another " hydraulic sandwich " " .................
YES is the word of the day.Frankers said "Jim" nailed it on the winter Beater.CHEERS to everyone.
The 60 Plymouth fury? GEEEEZZZZUS! DAMN DUDE! LOVE LOVE MY MOPARS!
The he die vinyl actually was made on the mill with the small ribs. With dies just like texture dies. But that being said die electric heat lines were around back to at least 1956. We restore antique boats. The earliest die electric dies that I know of in a boat was in a 1956 Century Coronado. And in 1958 model year Century had a 3 layer chrome die electric emblem in the back seat.
Hell yeah, Cheers Jim! That was before Chrysler got the Jeep brand wasn’t it, Jeep was still AMC! That’s when Jeep was Jeep, my opinion!
Here’s something that I thought I’d never say but Damn that 90s wagon is awesome.
Jim's jeep is awesome. That Golden Ghost is a piece of Canadiana right there. I bought my first Sno Jet in 1974.
Jim's Grand Wagoneer is actually *worth* restoring. One of those in great condition can sell for a *bunch* of money!! Man, what an awesome find!
16:27 Much love for the quote of the 'RUN DMC - It's tricky' to you, Dean:)
I still get amazed by the stuff you guys come across. The Wagoneer has pretty much sealed the trophy for Jim. Then again? ? ?
That Grand Wagoneer almost stole the show, but for the Fury making an appearance. Yes please, that needs to be a Spring acquisition once Jim's done with it. If things look up for me by then, I'll join your Patreon and actually buy voting rights! I think it's a good enough buy that you'll probably do it anyway. The Grand Wagoneer especially in that white colour is a really hot collector item and restoring that is no doubt going to bring a LOT of eyeballs to your channel!
