  • Hi! Dean's Greasy Flips is back with a new intro and theme song that Dean helped me write in order to flip more junkers! Agent 8771 gets paint on his 1972 Suzuki 350 project, and we'll keep fixing the stainless trim for the 1960 Fury. More panels get hammered out for the Econoline boogie van, and I'll pull out the Newport and get her running so we can rebuild the transmission soon!
Thanks also to everyone who subscribed to our channel here, and thanks also for all of your "likes" and comments! We do appreciate that anyone would take the time to leave us a note. If you would like to help keep our channel going, you can get a sticker, hat or a coffee mug at:

Nice lines on that old Pontiac, maybe the engine can be un-seized and run again, we need more Pontiac's on the road. Good luck Dean.
Not many cars have more trim pieces than the 60 Fury, but one at a time it's getting done.
I think Franker's thinks the CWM shop is her doghouse, and she lets everybody work there.
The door sill for the sliding door on the van was very crafty, looking forward to seeing that van painted and back on the road.
Dean's LTD is looking good, it's a comfy cruiser, the ignition switch and hood ornament is very nice.
The 72 Chrysler is another fine looking automobile.

I have the great privilege of having coffee a couple times a week with some old guys in their late 80's. A couple of them are retired auto mechanics with unbelievable memories.
Today was [good natured] 50's Plymouth bashing day ........ The big laugh was back in the day, on some '57s, when one manually pushed the fins apart the trunk lid would pop open!
Scot could give that a try and give us some feedback :-) .
Those cars were also known as "Highway Vacuums". The reason being is that they weren't very well sealed and somewhat flexible, so that on the Prairie gravel roads they would fill with gravel dust. So when one was driving on a road and hit a bump large amounts of dust would fall from the head liner. So much so that one recalled that once they hit a BIG bump and actually had to stop the car get out while the dust cleared .............
When those old dudes talk I listen believe me .....

What a gem your '72 New Yorker is!!! I had no idea you had this fine piece of Mopar luxury. At least on flim, it looks nearly new. Well at least no more than a few years. I was fortunate enough to own a '67 in a forest green for a couple of years while in the Army in Europe. Unfortunately, my rotation came just about the same time as the gas crunch did here in the States so the value of the car plummeted here. So I sold it to a G.I. coming in to Germany with a passel of kids and his wife under his arm for a few thousand dollars ($6,500?) and used the money to put a down payment on a new Dodge pickup when I came back to Fort Benning. Great day to you guys. Sorry you ran over your cameras though.

@@861LJ The LeMans was the A body. The same size as the GTO, which is just a LeMans with a big engine in it, and specific GTO badging. Basically the same as the 1965 Buick Skylark coupe, and the Buick Gran Sport. The Laurentian in Canada was the same full size car as the Catalina. The Catalina came standard with the 326 but could be equipped with the 389, which is the same engine used in the Grand Prix and the Bonneville.

Another Sunday down under in the great south land, and it’s CWM time. The Newport is just waiting to go on happy drives again by the looks . I too like to rescue unloved cars from the crusher like Dean, but sadly not usually smart enough to break even on the rehoming of the said rescue. Lol. Really love watching you make patch’s straighten trim and do what ever, but am a big fan of cold starts, as coId weather is never a great worry here in the hot tropics. It’s a bit of a sad week for Aussies and Kiwis down here as General Motors just boned the last of their Right hand drive production in the world by Announcing the total closure of General Motors Holdens by the end of this year. There is to be a fire sale of the remaining new cars and then ten years of parts and warranty backup. Regards Bob the dog and Doug his pet human .

In 1977 I owned a '72 Chrysler New Yorker and drove the PISS outta that thing, til the transmission fell out in 1981(had the 440 4-barrel, what was I SUPPOSED to do?).. anyways.. seeing the dashboard and steering wheel of that Newport sure brought back some damn fine memories! thanks for the video, Scott, fantastic as usual !

We had a '72 New Yorker that my dad bought from my grandfather when I was a kid. Unfortunately, Grandpa had problems with the posi-track and had put a regular rear end in it. Also unfortunately, we got rid of it two years before I got my license.

If “Dean’s Greasy Flips” doesn’t pan out it would make a great name for a burger van/stall 😎

Repairing the trim is quite time consuming but sure worth the time . Especially when the trim is rare to find , probably super pricey . I am wanting to try repairing a piece of trim myself , after watching these episodes. Great job on the trim Scott ! Enjoy your videos as always !
