Hey! Thanks for checking out the final installment of our series on the Model A pickup truck! This week we'll take it for a spin and then see how she does off road! Then, Agent 303 stops in and we put together a set of sweet classic tires for the 1959 Chrysler we salvaged a few weeks ago. Many thanks to Agent 0826 for letting us drive his sweet "A" and for getting it extra muddy so we could get some sweet shots of it out in the field! **Please hit the ol' "like" button if you want more "My Classic Tire" vids, ( It really helps the vids get seen) cheers!**** If you'd like to support our show, please visit our website at: www.coldwarmotors.com for Coffee Mugs, Dealership Decals, and Hats... Hi scott, agents. Nice job making these videos. Cinamatography is getting better and better. Anticipating all the great projects. Rev. P.S. lots of joules in CWMC personel, lots of jewels in CWMC yard!
You're probably right about that, Mr. Danforth. But buying a car with solid floors and rockers will cost precious points from the judges in the Waste of Time Olympics.
“ Dozens of good miles”. Reminds me of the old days when my high school friends and I would go dumpster diving behind the tire stores for our “new tires”. We would be especially stoked if we found a matching pair of white letter or red-line tires that had “dozens of good miles left on them”. 👍👍☮️
Luke Becker Luke, that was our Sunday afternoon entertainment. Saturday was junk yard day. One of us always had something that he needed to make it through the next week. New parts were for cowards. ☮️
The Model A is wonderful, what a rare treat. My grandfather never drove his Model A over 40MPH. The Chrysler is another story. With the simple addition of nice tyres and hubcaps, it is transformed. The dash is fab and the shape is great. Does any extensive restoration make economic sense if you added it all up? You do it for love. I think the Chrysler is worthy of love. Oh dear, I have gone all serious again but I couldn't help it. Thank you again for your videos. Cheers.
@@ricklucia7033 it's a great Channel on RUclips thumbs up these guys put the heart and soul into these vintage automobiles land keeps them alive I respect that classic cars are better than the automobiles that we have nowadays
That Ford Model A pickup is absolutely perfect. Fine job making it road worthy. Thanks for taking us along for the ride...a real treat! Those aerial shots really make your videos "over the top."
The Chrysler is magnificent. So glad to see Dean back in many of your videos it seems that he was missing for a while. Dear Frankers playing with her toy. How majestic she looked next to the classic tire♥️♥️
Just in from a long day at work in Ireland, standing in my garage and wondered if there had been an instalment of sanity from Canada and there it was, some classic tyre action:) Thanks lads, love your work.
Yay!! A Cold War Motors notification of a new video! Makes my weekend, best to you all Scott! Thanks for providing my "old car fix" for the week, loving the Model A truck and ANY classic tire features!!
You had me rolling with the tire "showcase" segment. Making that old tire look like a museum piece with the sweet cinematography action. Nothing like a little elbow grease to bring something back to life.
Dean has a hankering for that 4 door Chrysler. I think that car has his name all over it. Maybe a side channel , Deans rebuild. Great video. Love the model A.
Great A footage and commentary. I have to figure out how to get a ride along in one day for 2cv comparison purposes, and to meet another owner who is so happy to hit 40 mph. Liking the soundtracks lately too
Being a 4 door Windsor, I would think it pretty rare, as not a lot of them were saved, and exist now in any condition. Even brought back to running and driving would be a major accomplishment. Good goin' Scott!!
You guys have changed my whole outlook in what I’m doing with my classic 71 Falcon Wagon. I’m just going to give a level 2 tidy and apart from some small paint touch ups I’m keeping the car bone stock and original. Complete with patina paint , 6cyl & 3on the tree.
I could be wrong but I don’t think jay Leno has scrubbed a tire and hubcap on his knees while stoned. Once again great video and content. The opening drone footage at the beginning was particularly good.
Lots of weekend days were spent washing cars and cleaning white wall tires. Comet work nice for just cleaning the white wall with SOS if somebody mis-judged a curb and the tire had the black scuffs.
Is that a Mercury Marauder I see parked in the drive? Thanks for all your hard work production wise, and with the model A!! I wish they still made car interiors like they did in that Windsor! Don't want to rain on your parade, but once one of the two "new" tires on a abused car I just bought and suggested they replace because 2 tires had no tread, they said fine and gave me re-caps. One went flat on the way home. That line looks a lot like a re-cap line around it ??? The 31 is just amazing, great job !
What a joy these episode bring to me/us. The opening is spectacular and really highlights another one of your abilities. I am sure if I lived closer I would become one of your agents, knocking out some little project that needed attention. Enjoy the warm weather , this will come to an end all to soon Thumbs up and ^5's
The bed floor of that model A reminds me of a Hacker-Craft speed boat. The finish is beautiful! You guys have nerves of steel inflating some of those classic tires. At least you don't go for rusty split rims! As they used to say on Hill Street Blues "Hey, let's be careful out there."
JC Penny seat covers or JC Whitney? :) We used to always use that Westley's "Bleech-White" on those whitewall tires. It was like, no matter how many times you wiped, you were still gonna pick up black and get it on the white, LOL! Meanwhile today on "My Classic Hubcap"... One of your electronics agents should be put to work on the radio. Usually the vibrator on those things is shot, but they can be replaced...heck, some folks even rebuild them. Then you can really freak folks out. Yeah, my car is good for more than just looking at, listen to this! Put a little AM transmitter in the glove box crankin out some classic 50's tunes while the rest of the car is rusting into the ground :) but cleanly!
Great video, I could watch you clean old tires and display them all day long. When the tire rolled out with the hubcap on it......Oh baby. I collected hubcaps since I was about 10 so it's borderline unhealthy how much I love collecting vintage wheel/ tire combos.
I love the way things mesh together using what you have. The Chrysler looks great and the pickup, awesome. Very nice, especially leaving the patina that was salvageable. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for another great video. Scott. That model A is one sweet old girl. What and amazing difference the right wheels and tires make on a car. That Windsor is now begging to be a driver ( insert hundreds of labor hours here). presto! She lives again!
That Model A pick up looks great rolling around on the road. I remember when you was working on the fenders on that. The classic tires on the '59 are looking pretty spiffy too, I can see why Dean is all lusty for that Windsor.
hey Scott and the Agents, the Model A was the first show of yours that i watched, really happy to see the ol' boy back on the road ! :) It even lays down rubber going down the road just after you backed it out of the driveway ! :)
That A would really be blast to drive where I live. It's seven miles of gravel to a black top. The top speed on that old girl exactly matches the conditions.
You look adorable driving that Model A Scott! ☺️ I love Dean's enthusiasm for the cars! And how clean those classic tires cleaned up! Frankers loves showing off her toys!
Really digging the coverage of the Chrysler. It is cleaning up well. Just to get it to a running driveable status would be awesome. Maybe sometime or another huh?! The classic tires and hub caps set it off! Very enjoyable video of the Model A pickup as well. How sweet she is! It makes my mind wander back to the Model T you recently acquired. Great to see your post today!
A signature CWM production that somehow escaped my view. The footage of the A pickup tooling across the landscape is dream sequence stuff. The Classic Tire segment is a real pleaser too with all of the rich anecdotal narrative: the scrap tire “shitments,” Leno’s mechanical shortcomings, and certainly Franker’s continuing supporting role. Thanks, gentlemen!
another great installment. glad you finally got done joy-riding. pa walton was calling all over the county for jim-bob and john-boy to get the truck back to the mill. windsor looks much better with those maypop (may pop at any time) tires. i also used to pick from the local tire pile for my willys pu. size and type (grips) were the only discriminators. i distinctly recall atlas 42s were some of the best for keeping a bonfire going. also great for smoking venison sausage. the flavors were exquisite. also glad to see the list of subscribers continues to grow.
Hi Scott and agents, and Frankers pretty girl she is! Bias plys for the Windsor,SWEET! That A is something beautiful.Grampa had two when I was real young. One pickup factory worm gear rear, one sedan chopped off shortened, wood bed, homemade pickup. My uncle sold them both for 75$😂😅 in 1975. They both still ran. I can remember riding in one when i was 3 yrs old. I cant wait till you work on the T. My dad told me he learned how to drive in a model T with the foot pedal reverse when he was 9 yrs old. Old Henry would be proud of CWMC. Im stunned you said the A was your favorite! True Chrysler Men dont tell little white lies! If anything can take my mind off the Fury, its the A, or that T. That Model A is as close to perfect as you could get. You should start selling a shirt that just says "same old shirt" but print the "r" in "shirt" red.
I love the intro and end scene that's the (green) canadian prairie that reminds me to 2 stays in Shilo Manitoba Army training camp in '88 + '89 whith an extra of John Boy Walton cruising the plains (he did not in tv ?! ). Cool roadmovie - scenes whith super cool music - whow🙋 .
Yay - its Saturday night here in Ontario - I spent the day in the heat but now I'm in my cool basement with a drink and some fine legal Canadian canabis - and as a bonus, a new Cold War Motors video - Cheers!
That '59 Windsor looks like something Ward Cleaver drove in the old TV show "Leave it to Beaver" since he was supposed to be some sort of successful businessman.
I would have pulled the right tail lamp on that Windsor and put a big iron bar in through the hole and started prying that big dent out of the quarter panel! Plus I would be looking at the stash of old Mopars in your yard like the four door Fury you're stripping and pull the engine and trans out of it and put it in this one, Or go see your buddy at the junkyard and get an engine and trans. from him! Also I would use old car hoods ,roof's and deck lids to make patches for the floor where needed! Down and dirty! Just make it safe! Take rocker mouldings from any car you can find, cut and trim to make it hide the rusty rockers, plus find some quarter mouldings to cover the rust on this one and go! I do that with cars I find and make them safe to drive and go with it! I'm kind of the American version of you guys but without the cameras! I only have 40 cars though! I'm still that kid building model cars but now the cars are bigger!
I laughed at the Jay Leno reference... I flew into Burbank on Thursday and saw him out driving around not 5 minutes from the airport. Some kinda early-mid 50’s convertible. You guys still look like you’re having more fun, though... love that Model A and the ‘59 Chrysler!
I've done the same so I could move a car on a trailer and move it around a yard when i got there. I had 3 different sizes, all were perished and 2 were bald. The guy said "You know they are no good" I said "they're ok, they will hold air, there's nothing wrong with them" I explained and he said "I"ve never fitted tyres this bad before and laughed" I did a tune up on a model A 20 yrs ago . I couldn't find a TDC mark so I had to look it up and found you take it up to where you think TDC is and unscrew a pointer from the crank pulley and turn it around and screw it back into the crank pulley and it locks into a hole in the block then you set up the distributor as normal. Then unscrew the pointer and turn it around and screw it back into the pulley.. The water pump was leaking out of the shaft. it has a castellated nut with a lead washer behind it . You tighten it up a little, make sure it still turns and it stops leaking. So simple. LOL

Somewhere in central Canada lurks a 361 engine and a cast iron Torqueflite waiting to make Dean's dream come true.
He might better go to BC and buy a rust free 59 Chrysler. Lots easier and cheaper than trying to fix that heap.
Yeah and a full set of rust free floor pans o heck get a new one anyways!

Those hub caps are insanely badass.
That Jay Leno impression was priceless! It gave me a good laugh!
You guys should do an update on each car you've shown in the past I'm quite curious. Cheers from Florida.
I remember when you guys video that truck when you were working on the 30 truck pretty cool to see it again sounds like a sowing machine.
Another great Saturday!
that littleford t ute is amazing and simple and goes well
Wow,what a dynamic intro!Terrific job all around,Frankers too.
Definitely a step up in video quality with music and drone shots - awesome
Great drone shots. thank you
I laughed at the Jay Leno reference... I flew into Burbank on Thursday and saw him out driving around not 5 minutes from the airport. Some kinda early-mid 50’s convertible. You guys still look like you’re having more fun, though... love that Model A and the ‘59 Chrysler!
I love the 59 Chrysler! I hope you restore like new! Fingers crossed!
So simple. LOL
Dean is to old cars what I am to riding mowers lol. he's my hero
Francine is always on hand to steal a scene.:)
