    Dear Dr. Ruscio, I've been wondering how often in your practice do you see patients with normal levels of TSH/Free T4 and decreased levels of Free T3? Is it once in a blue moon or not at all unusual?

    My Endocrinologist diagnosed me with Hypothyroidism and wants to put me on thyroid hormone because TSH is suppressed 0.01 and normal levels of T3 and T4. Also, normal Antibodies test and I don’t have any negative symptoms. I’m a postmen women. I will be happy to have your opinion, please.

      Hi there! Unfortunately, I can’t give specific medical advice over social media, so it’s hard to comment, especially without knowing the full picture. Do you mean that your TSH is high, signaling hypothyroidism? If your labs indicate that and your endo advises, it might not be a bad idea to try the synthroid and see if it helps. But some do better on a t3/t4 mix or porcine-derived thyroid hormone replacement

      Yes, that’s generally considered somewhat high for TSH, if that’s what you’re referring to
