Love this video.❤ Who else had all of the triggering events? Mono-☑️ Divorce ☑️ Death of a loved one☑️ Tramatic accident ☑️ STRESS ☑️ Honestly though think it was heavy periods and years of chronic anemia not being diagnosed. "You need iron to convert t4 to t3". No wonder my poor thyroid was a dumpster fire. Makes me wonder how in the world all women don't have hashi's?! 🤯 Thank you! I'll be using this information to keeo moving forwarding to recovery.
We're happy the video could help :) If you loved how Dr. E explained this topic, you might also love her course series that you can get for free :) Let us know if you want the link. This may also be useful information in your health journey 👍🏻
I'm not a woman, but I've had way more events and stress then those things you mentioned, and I'm sure there's some that have experienced worse than me. But I want to thank you for posting that because it validates what I have been through, I need to give myself a break and give the abuse that I've received the credit for a lot if not most all of the health problems that have been a consequence of it
I started seeing a functional doctor 6 months ago. I went gluten free the day I met with her after having blood work. She put me on all the supplements you recommended. Except the iron . I have HH. Life changing for me. I have had hbp for almost 25 years and took meds 7 times a day that keeps my bp down but not good. I am still seeing my functional doctor and am off all my blood pressure meds. I got to the point where I knew I would be in a nursing home if I didn’t get some help. God gave me the courage to seek treatment from her. I feel better now at 67 than I have in over 30 years and in no medication. I was treated for hashimotos about 15 years.
I am very happy for you but believe me when I say there is NOONE here to help I tried IF for over a year didn't help fat and cholesterol just hung on and I did"t eat sweats did very strict KETO for over a YEAR and HALF in last 3 months have gained 6 more pounds@@em945
I had to force my Dr to order the antibody test for Hashimoto’s. When I went back in to go over the results she glazed over it quickly, saying “we don’t treat it” but eventually my thyroid will become fully hypo. And that was it. Didn’t discuss diet. Didn’t go into root cause. This is why people are turning away from western medicine.
Is that in the UK? Because I am treated by my GP in the same poor way. He never asks for symptoms, doesn't advice any different diet and so so so. It's like you have to be your own doctor
I went to my state's best endocrinologist. He told me that they treat hashimoto's the same as any other hypothyroid case.... They give Synthriod... That is the "Western Medicines" treatment protocol. I asked him why he was not concerned about my autoimmune disease, still attacking my body, and getting down to the root of the problem to fix it..... He again said western medicine protocol is that we give you synthroid. I asked him why I am coming to see him as a specialist, when my primary care doctor could test my thyroid function. I also told him that perhaps he should go back to school and do some C.E.U's for "Functional Medicine" protocols to treat Hashimoto's. He didn't think that was funny
Exactly I hear you I love doctors and they help very much but I hate the fact that they never mention foods and holistic stuff that could help us. It’s not just about medication like Dr E said.
My whole body hates me: chronic inflammation, Hashimoto, Grave’s, Rheumatoid Arthritis, pre-diabetes… all autoimmune disorders. Very high anti-TPO numbers. My whole body is dysfunctional and I do not know why. I never smoke, do not drink, do not over eat, I eat very healthy… gluten, sugar and dairy-free (except goat milk for coffee) grass-fed, pastured-raised, organic, no processed foods, no corn, no junk food, no can food… what else can I do? 😮
Going carnivore is healing all your issues. What do you considor eating healthy, plants are trying to kill you. Research Sally Norton and Dr Chaffie and Dr Paul Mason.
Found a functional medicine Dr and found I have Lyme's & Epstein-Barr. Researching Lyme's I found the thyroid thing can really be Lyme.( I suspect this in my case since the meds don't work consistently)good luck finding a Dr. Look for someone who knows Lyme's and does alternative and complementary treatments, ie: herbs, IV vitamin C, infrared sauna,
I finally went gluten free/low dairy after being told for 18 months by my GP and rheumatologist that it wasn’t necessary. Saw an improvement in symptoms after a few weeks. Suffice to say I found new doctors.
Same here. Functional medicine doc told me to stop eating gluten and cut dairy as much as possible, and once I did I saw rapid improvement. I see decline when I cheated on this diet(ah pizza and ziti😢) but I am now back on track, WFPB.
"Someone hacked your home security system and now your security system thinks that your thermostat is a threat and it starts to attack your thermostat. Your immune system mistakenly attacks your thyroid making it underactive and effecting the entire body." You can mop the floor all day but if you dont fix the hole in the ceiling, you're gonna be mopping all day and that hole is gonna get bigger and bigger, more water is gonna keep coming down and you aint gonna keep up with the mopping. Hashimotos is the end result of a systemic problem thats been happening for a long time. Triggers: Stress - trauma, chronic stress, viruses, high cortisol, heavy metal toxins, all these things chemically effects and causes havoc to your immune system If you have hashimotos you have leaky gut and gluten intolerance. Your thyroid keeps being assaulted because your security system is still malfunctioning. T4 conversion to T3 happens in yhe gut and liver. The type of bacteria in your gut determines this conversion process. Until you check under the hood you aint gonna block up the hole in the ceiling. Iodine - need it but not too much Selenium - bodyguard for thyroid Zinc Iron Vitamin D B12 Omega 3 Probiotics Ashwaghanda Anti viral support Lysine Whole body issue - requires a whole systemic approach.
I always thought doctors were there to help you , not just give a diagnosis and a pill, if the doctors handed you a pamphlet explaining a whole baseline of causes and get you on a programme of balancing your body out with ,supplements and the right whole foods the human race would be less sick oh but wait that won’t sit with the drug companies as there’s no profit in healthy people !
Agree, thank you Dr E for the best and most concise and yet comprehensive explanation of Hashimotos. Thank you for sharing the analogies and showing the linkages to root causes...that helps clarify a lot, I look forward to exploring more of your chapters or courses on this. I have a question (apologies if you may have already answered, I just may not have come across it as yet), what are the signs of leaky gut? How can you tell if you have it? I am looking forward to making some time and space to understand this and make some changes for the better. Thank you 🙏🏽🌷
Sigh….. I am 51. I’ve had symptoms since I was 19. I could SEE it in my face. I would have a fat face…. Then thin face… then fat face. Back and forth felt awful. All over pain. Got married. Husband saw it all. When I was 28 I saw a DO. The DO told me something is off with your thyroid. Then I got pregnant. A miracle. EVERYTHING worked again so I didn’t deal with the thyroid issue. After the baby I wanted to address it. That DO was now gone. All of my MDS said “your numbers are fine. Your thyroids a bit swollen. We’ll watch. This happened for 15 years. Every pregnancy I got better. I swear o went from overactive thyroid to underactive thyorid… back and forth. I had doctor after doctor tell me your numbers are fine. Let’s do an ultrasound. Thyroid looks fine. Large by fine. Not growing. I got worse and worse. Sicker and sicker. I got to the point that I sounded croupy when breathing. It was scary. It scared my husband. I couldn’t breathe. On top of complete systemic failure. One day I was laying on the couch. Croupy breathing. Blueish skin. I had JUST had an ENT tell me to give it six more months and she would biopsy it. My husband saw me and said ENOUGH. we are going to the ER. I walk in and the doctor on duty hears my breathing. He says get her in here now. This isn’t normal. My blood oxygen was 85. They run text. They do a PET scan. Turns out my thyroid was growing INWARD. It had wrapped around my esophagus and artery. I couldn’t breathe. It was literally choking me. The ultrasound only picks up a certain depth, so that’s why it wasn’t seeing growth. They order immediate emergency thyroidectomy. The next morning. I wake up… BREATHING! I could tell the difference immediately. The surgeon walks in. Quite disturbed. He tells my husband and I that it was definitely cancer. My this was all cancer. It fell apart in his hands. He also tells me my numbers indicated hashi. THEY NEVER SAW THOSE NUMBERS… for years they never checked those numbers. It was in the 40’s. Turns out I had hashi the entire time and somehow it was definitely cancer. Complete removal followed by a few forms of radiation. This wasn’t “the good cancer” as my doctor always said that thyroid cancer is. It was poorly differentiated insular carcinoma of the thyroid stage four. A very rare cancer that is isually only found around Chernobyl. I have lived in Houston my entire life. Its now been seven years after and I still have high numbers that indicate hashi. (Is this normal? With no thyroid) I take armour now and vitamins (most mentioned) but I’ve never been told about the gut connection. Although I have also always had serious gut issues. IBS… Even a hiatal hernia. Women aren’t listened too.
I'm really sorry to hear that you had the bad cancer. I hope you are doing better now. I complained for years and was tested repeatedly for thyroid issues. They kept telling me my numbers were fine. Then they found Hashi's, but still no hypo. Still normal functioning. Then I find a lump - cancer. And my whole thyroid is removed. So - how does it go from no hypo to cancer, just like that?
I just discovered the gut connection. I got the thyroid problem when I was pregnant. So, 40 years later, I'm eating the carnivore lifestyle, and my gut issues have gone from diarrhea all the time to regular poops. Unbelievable! So, I need the new tests for thyroid done, but I have to wait 2 more months for the time frame the insurance likes 😊

I just got diagnosed with Hashimoto's today at 32 years old... this video is just what I needed to hear. I knew it all wasn't just in my head. I knew my body's check engine light had been on for quite some time...
@@aislynndraconisart8427 Hi, this is Dr. E’s team here! 🧑⚕️ We’re so glad this resonated with you, and trusting your body is so powerful. Sending you lots of support!🙌
I’ve had thyroid issues for years and have never been told any of this. I see and endocrinologist because I was told to see one and honestly I don’t feel they are doing anything for me. Very disappointed with my medical care!! I learned more in this one video than all the years with my doctors.
And what did you do? Did you help yourself? Welcome to the reality. A have been having abnormal blood work for 3 years. Now PCP prescribed hormones for me and told we will until your thyroid will shutdown.
I have Kaiser but I paid for a naturopathic doctor who diagnosed hypothyroidism. I don’t have another $5,500 to pay for another year. Went to my regular doctor and showed her the medicine I was on and my labs from the other doctor. She said she talk to an endocrinologist to see if I could have a consultation. Well, they came back saying my labs look fine or medical system is so messed up.
@@happy_kathy4911 , 😲! Thank you so much for your response. It's so helpful for me! What did you do? Did GF and diary free diet help you for treatment, or anything else? Kaiser didn't cover your tests, labwork?
Same. They don't do much for anyone do they. Mine has been ignored for years and now I have nodules on my thyroid that causing swallowing and breathing issues. Current medicine is a joke. Dr Brownstien out of Michigan and Dr Elizabeth Bright are a couple of great Dr's to listen to on this subject as well.
Yep this is true I found out I had hoshimotos then a year later my legs swelled up . They found out I had no calcium or vitamin d in my body. Later they suspected I could have celiac disease so i ate alot of gluten for a month they did an endoscopy and colonoscopy . They found pre cancerous polyps and my villia were destroyed. So since then I haven't eaten gluten wheat rye and barley. Later my mom and two sisters my nieces and daughter all diagnosed also. We feel so much better now .

I started with chronic headaches at around age nine. Then debilitating cramps and migraines. Once I hit my late thirties, I started having thyroid issues. In my mid forties I was hospitalized because my liver was in distress. No one could understand why my liver and kidney function was off, despite seeing specialists! Just before having half of my thyroid removed, I finally made the connection between gluten and migraines. One year later of being gluten-free, all of the symptoms I have mentioned here have been resolved and my liver is much improved and kidneys are functioning beautifully. I'm so grateful.
Hello, this is Dr. E's team! Thank you for sharing your journey. It’s incredible how going gluten-free has resolved so many of your symptoms and improved your liver and kidney function. It’s amazing what dietary changes can do. Wishing you continued good health and relief from your symptoms!

Do you know, I was already showing some of these signs in my late teens, 1970s. Have asked a million people. In 1980s the only endocrinologist in Cape Town even found out my thyroid "was a little bit low but nothing to do about it yet, it's not bad enough"... Eventually had a partial diagnosis and started to get sorted in 2012, by my late mother's doctor, by which time I had significant CFS and IBS, but most of the specifics you've spelled out, I had to work out between what she said (and lots she didn't say), and what my vet said about a beloved pet dog with food sensitivity issues post early vaccine. (He was a rescue). It's a rum world. Thank you for the truth. Seeing a brilliant integrative doctor in Johannesburg, South Africa now. Yes, gluten AND dairy. Do you know how many people told me I was imagining things? Could have saved DECADES of being under-par and confused about things I KNEW were a reality, if doctors had known, or maybe, had been allowed to say this back then. I just want to add, the fact that they are insisting on inoculating kids against chicken pox now - a herpes virus - I think it's criminal, and they are almost certain to get thyroid issues down the line. Sorry. I'm not a doctor. I'm only a retired nurse. But I think it's criminal. Very glad you've popped up in my feed, Dr. E. Congratulations!
I do agree. Lipid viruses are a major body assault and the drs never distinguish between lipid viruses and other viruses. Lipid viruses never leave the body, it is stuck in the lymph system. And no one’s addresses how to rid a virus in the lymph system. Epstein Barr Virus is attached to the BCell Follicle and what is one of the major blood cancers? B Cell follicular lymphoma and they see no correlation, it’s crazy.

The book Metabolical details the importance of a healthy gut microbiome. It's written by pediatric endocrinologist Dr. Robert Lustig...the take away, in 6 words, from the book is: protect the liver, feed the gut...best thing I ever did was 'fix' my gut...no more IBS, no more constipation, or irregularity...it took me 7 decades to get here...how I wish I'd understood the importance of the gut microbiome in my youth...maybe it's not too late for you...

I've been on thyroid meds for over 20 years, I've never heard of the root causes, this is a game changer for me. I'm in my mid 50s but I'm doing more research. I don't like the fact, that most doctors want to give you a pill, send you on your way and not discuss any if this.
They are literally trained to get you to never call back and only return when they say. That’s the teaching model. This started around the millennium when a stupid pol lit tic cal decision was made causing doctors and hospitals to treat quantities not quality just to recoup. It destroyed conventional medicine and the teaching structure too. I watched it happen. Many ppl now spend more than they ever would have and are still falling through the cracks of the system.
On meds for over 20 years and now in early 60s, in my 50s I became an 'amateur' runner, starting lifting weights, yoga, organic non-GMO food, no wine and each year it goes down but still NOT enough. This is the 2nd time withing a week I learned about heavy metals test. I will make an appointment first thing tomorrow morning! PTL for this great video. And Kelly, thank you for your sharing with your comment. Let's hope for success for all of us! More PTL to come.

✨After a million hours of videos, articles and research, I finally found the video that convinces me to stop eating gluten. According to lab tests, I am not “allergic or intolerant”, but my body says otherwise. ✨✨I went to see a doctor in South America, he told me I’m definitely Type 2 Diabetic and Hypo. I came back to Canada and told them to retest me and of course, “all was good”, “labs look good, except your Iron”. And also, “You just have anxiety”. A yr later, I found out I had colon cancer. So, yes!! I believe you when you say Hashimoto is a symptom of underlying issues. I definitely need to stop the gluten or my cancer will come back. ✨Also, gluten makes me feel anxious and irritable and messes with my physical, mental, emotional and psychological health. This stops now! ✋ Thanks, Doc! 💞
Hello, this is Dr. E's team! We are sorry to hear about what you've been through. We're glad you've found information that resonates with you and helps you take control. How have you been feeling since you decided to eliminate gluten from your diet?
I've read a lot about the thyroid, and all the conclusions were that no one knows the answer to this complicated disease. But you do. And you presented it so clearly. Thank you for that. 😊
Thyroid hormones are converted mostly in the liver, only about 20% in the gut. Hashimotos can be related to liver function, insulin resistance as well as some of the other things speaks of..... But the liver is the main point of conversion. Everything here is important, but don't forget the impact of liver function on thyroid issues.
Stress does kill us, I had a very traumatic childhood, teenage years, Chronic stress my entire life, what aggravated my thyroid issues was the lost of a family member back in 2012, my husbands health issues, my daughters, the struggle never ends, add to it that I live on the other side of the world, far away from my loved ones... This is what caused my Hashimotos, I am seeing a great homeopath and it seems to help, I do have leaky gut, food allergies etc. Now, I am not hyper or Hypo, just very high antibodies with thyroid nodules, I see my endocrinologist three times per year, I had Graves disease for many years. You are spot on this issue and our explanation is just perfect. Thanks for caring.

@@DrEfratLaMandre I have a question so my niece is type 1 diabetes & Hashimoto's. I have insulin resistance, endo. Am a big lady but via my 6 pregnancy's I have always lost weight while pregnant & breastfeeding but then when I finish breastfeeding I pile the weight back on ridiculously then my body adjusts and drops a little weight but only back to the obese weight before falling pregnant. Not dibectic or pre-eclampsia. But the weight drop happened everytime I was pregnant and breastfeeding. Are these signs of Hashimoto's? Also always had problems with low iron & b12 have had to have transfusions and injections supplements.
Amazing!!! Excellent presentation for Hashimotos Disease!! I have had Myalgic Encephalomyolitis Chronic Fatigue Syndrome MECFS for many years now. I have corrected many things: my diet, supplements to take, sleep practice and mindset. This has led me to realize that my MECFS goes to the root cause of hypothyroidism and hypoglycemia. Most probably all this was caused by the Tetanus shot that I didn't want back in 2017. Or perhaps further back to my fainting spell which was caused by hypoglycemia in 2013. SAME. STORY HERE> well very similar. In 2005, before moving overseas my Dr at the time, highly encouraged me to re-do all the childhood vaccines in addition to HEPb 3-jab series. After my 2nd jab or the HEPb series, I’d had vertigo, pin prickling sensations in random roaming locations, new allergies, severe head-pain, and weird skin sensations such as a sudden felling of cold wet on a small localized location. Oh,I also had severe upper left side stomach pain and constipation. I also had anxiety and panicle attacks from the move overseas…..fast forward I ended up diagnosed with hashimotos, gluten Intolerance, plus allergies. Fast forward to 2015 when I’d gotten a rare strain of salmonella food poisoning & was hospitalized then diagnosed with a syndrome from that. In 2014, was diagnosed with Lyme disease and Idid heavy metals treatment, then Lyme treatment using herbalsand supplemts. then spent one year treating all the reactivated viruses….THEN I got covid, bad, in March 2020, and now have MECFS, fibromyalgia, long covid. Knowing what you are allergic to also complicates diets. ANYTHING with sulfur in it will hurt you if you have issues with it - foods and drinks, vitamins, supplements & medications. Ashwaganda (sp?) is chock full of sulfur; you’re really Not doing your body any good taking it if you have sulfur issues. ALWAYS be extremely cautious when reading informational clips like these and apply them properly to how they fit you in your life instead of blindly following along!!
Groups that support iodine supplementation suggest 'cofactors' being important. Selenium was mentioned by Dr E but also vit b2 and vit b3. B3 - niacin can cause flushing for 30 minutes or so. This is dilation of blood vessels. I turn a little red on my face and chest and it can be itchy but it lowers blood pressure. And its been beneficial for me. The different flush free form of b3 is not so good for you!! Ref: Dr brownstein iodine protocol
My thyroid started acting up when I went through a bad divorce. Then I had to be on a very strong antibiotic. Gave me C-diff. Then a systemic yeast infection then my thyroid went south even more. Had all the symptoms. Started doing research. I have leaky gut. I have had hashimoto's for years, been faithfully seeming doctors for it the whole time. I finally went to a nutritionalist today, and she was the one to tell me to immediately remove gluten from my diet because I have Hashimotos. I really wish someone had told me this 10 years ago. Thanks for this video going more in-depth in what's going on!
That's incredible! Removing gluten from your diet can be a game-changer for many people with Hashimoto's, so we are hopeful that this change will bring you some relief and improved health.

@@boxerblvd3514 more than wheat has gluten. Rice, corn, rye, grains all have types of gluten. Try removing all grains! Once I removed it , I saw a difference. I replaced those with sweet potato, yucca, tapioca, arrowroot. AIP diet changed my hashi’s and adhd symptoms after about 1.5 months strictly following.
I have Graves - opposite to Hashimoto - Graves is hyperthyroidism and autoimmune. Give up gluten and dairy and don't need medication anymore 😊. But if I consume any gluten or dairy,I can feel straight away my eyes bulging and other symptoms! The sad part is that doctors know what I did to cure myself , they can see my blood results and I don't need to have my thyroid poisoned with radioactive iodine to be on the medication for the rest of my life. Still, they don't believe what people are trying to tell them, cause I am not the only one who cured thyroid after removing gluten and dairy. It is working!!!!!
How strictly are you eliminating gluten and dairy? What if a product says "make contain traces of wheat" for example. Is that already enough to notice symptoms?
@@AnnikaBergmannArt Hi, I am strict ,but when it says may contain it is not a bother. What sometimes happens is that the product should be gluten or milk free, but I get the symptoms, and later this particular product is removed from the shelf. During my journey I met a girl who had similar symptoms so I shared my tips with her, she said, she can't give up gluten, she later found out she is Coeliac, after removing gluten, she's ok :) I really hope this can help someone, and don't get me wrong, I LOVE the taste of gluten and dairy products - miss them so, so, so much! But unfortunately and fortunately this works for me.
Thank you for this video I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism 24 years ago… never told anything but to take levothyroxine. I have in the last 5 years figured out on my own that I am sensitive to wheat so I cut that out. Only thanks to RUclips videos like this have i also learned about gluten and dairy being so detrimental to my hashimoto … so I’ve recently cut that out of my diet. For the first time in a decade my neck is not sore near my lymph nodes, which can only make me think that my body was constantly fighting something and the pain in my neck ( no pun intended) was from the reaction of gluten and dairy. All my doctors ever told me was I’ll be on meds the rest of my life. No advice, no guidance… additionally, I’ve done my own research thanks to Google and RUclips, and I take many vitamins to support immunity and my thyroid all the ones that you mentioned in this video except for iodine. I don’t play around with things I’m not certain about. My thyroid is shot as one endocrinologist told me and again did not offer anything except for pharmaceutical drugs, I’m in perimenopause so now I have a host of other problems lol!!! But I appreciate this video and your advice! Maybe you can delve into menopausal remedies!

@maureentrovato7493,There's a documentary on RUclips about Lyme disease and how it's a CHRONIC condition/disease because it's transmitted by a spirochete shaped virus. Were you treated with antibiotics, and for how long?? I only ask this because in that documentary, a doctor proved that the virus travels to ALL CELLS/SYSTEMS in the body, including the brain/heart. He unfortunately died before he could finish his research into staining a person's blood and being able to scan for the disease inside a patient suspected of having Lyme disease. The traditional blood test was DELIBERATELY ALTERED to NOT FIND Lyme disease.
It happened to me after having the the really bad COVID19, delta. It was like I never recovered from it. I was in bed 20 hours a day, severe bloating and stomach pain, insomnia, swollen lymph nodes and a sore throat with moderate dysphagia. It was over a year before my PCP ordered thyroid bloodwork. I turned out that I had Hashimoto's and hypothyroidism. My fingernails were were rigid and my skin on my lower arms and legs got very thin and wrinkled.
This is the best explanation about thyroid issues. I believe that this information could be valid and for other auto immune deseases or health issues. Among all this information I would like to add insuline resistance which is a big problem due to our way of living.

When I was 9 I was a healthy kid that my mom was dragging to doctors to see if they could prevent me from being tall (I was 5’2” & I wanted to be 6’ like my aunt). I had all my childhood vaccines and the diseases that there weren’t vaccines for. And that summer I was in a pool accident where chlorine was forced into my lungs and gut. There were 2 of us and we couldn’t breathe on our own. In the hospital in that era docs talked in front of kids. We had chlorine in our blood. The next morning we could breathe on our own but we still had chlorine in our blood. Then the 2 docs argued over whether we’d make it to 20 or 30. Within 3 years I had the 2 week measles again. I got strep throat every year of college and a bit after. I got mono in college. My cold sores got a bit more aggressive. Eating was a challenge so I cut out meat and became a vegetarian. In college I learned from an older person (25 to my 18) that I had chronic constipation. I was fighting depression. I learned to eat a healthy diet. I’d already started boycotting McDonalds and Coca-Cola/pepsi for political reasons (climate change). I learned taking liquid calcium in gel caps helped with my nighttime “bicycling”. I made it past 30. I did have mysterious weight gain/loss that was sometimes related to stress but sometimes not so no doctor ever thought to test my thyroid. Then I got a very stressful job and I started to lose my hair, including my eyebrow tips. My therapist told me to see an endocrinologist. He gave me a panel and put me on synthroid. I immediately put on a huge amount of weight, so much hair shedding that others commented on it. All my muscles ached and I had weird headaches. I went on disability. The doc added cytomel. I got slightly better and went back to work but started looking for a new job. I ended up being put on all sorts of thyroid meds and all caused extreme problems. I started seeing a very old Chinese Accupuncturist who was a surgeon in Taiwan but due to racism was an accupuncturist in Chinatown (some of those years the practice was illegal in the US). After a month or so she told me the drugs I was taking were killing me. I told her I didn’t take drugs. She tapped her thyroid. She told me not to stop it suddenly as that would probably kill me. Over the next 8 painful months we slowly cut the dose. She’d give me treatments that would help my whole body, including the severe muscle pain. When I was down to the smallest amount I started to feel so much better! When I was completely off of it I did a thyroid panel. My doctor was like yay! We are down to the correct dose! This is great news. I told her I’d been med free for 6 weeks and I felt better than I had in years. My elderly acupuncturist retired and I found a new one (American) who knew what I did and suggested that I give up wheat for 30 days and after 30days have a meal of pasta or pizza. After 30 days I was at a job class in another city and forgot to bring my wheat free protein bar to our free breakfast so I started to eat a bran muffin. I immediately started sneezing and my eyes got swollen after 2 bites. I was permanently wheat free. The following year my chiropractor told me to go atkins as low carb supports thyroid disease. I went back to eating meat. I felt great. My body to this day (24 years low carb, wheat, rice, sugar free) does not play well with pharmaceuticals. I get all the weird side effects for most of them, including antibiotics. I have been taking supplements since I was 1st diagnosed with hashimotos (30+ years ago). As I’ve aged I’ve added more to support aging. I did try iodine and other natural remedies for thyroid and my body always had an extreme reaction to them so iodine is off the table. From the beginning I’ve taken: liquid gel caps calcium complex, vit d3, MSM, primrose gelcaps (cause thyroid helps female hormones, unfortunately not testosterone so I’ve been low on that since my org diagnosis), olive leaf and quercetin (for immune support and lung support), and CoQ10. Now I take a vision supplement (it has selenium in it), hair, skin, nails supplement, 3 supplements for blood pressure, 5 supplements for chronic constipation, niacin. Whew. I also take collagen but more to up my protein intake at 69 I need to pay more attention to it. Most doctors do not realize I ALMOST DIED FROM CHLORINE POISONING! It wiped out my gut and while I have tried almost every probiotic in the stores (many online) they don’t really help (I have taken some of them for years…). One of my colon supplements has probiotics in it. I follow the research on gut transfusions. I am an extreme outliner but I have been able to have an active, happy life even if my growth stopped immediately after my poisoning (and my restrictive eating has caused problems for my bones). Low carb and daily exercise has worked for me!

Just got diagnosed Hashimoto's last week at 48, FINALLY everything health related in my whole life falls in place. Now I need to find my way in this and your video is a great start for that. Thank you!
At 54 I was diagnosed by a new Dr. I went to to get on bio identical hormones. He did a TPO test where my primary never had in 15 years of being on synthroid. I never knew of Armour Thyroid which is natural I found that out on my own and the Doctor Who did the Hashimoto's test told me all about leaky gut which I never knew about. Thank God for doctors like this and for doctors who care to find out the root cause. Today I was told it's an autoimmune disorder and you just got the gene! Then is it was easily dismissed.
We're just happy the video could help! Do you want more helpful explanations from Dr. E about health? You can get her course series for free! Tell us if you'd like the link so you can download :)
There is more I could have been doing all of these years? I can’t believe that this video was more informative than all of my years being treated for Hashimoto’s! My doctor told me to eat healthier and exercise. Never once has this been explained this clearly. I could have really been working on myself so much better. Thank you so much. This is the first time I’ve come across your videos. I am grateful to say the least!
I was dx with hypothyroid 38 years ago, looked everywhere for information and there was none years ago, very little later on and now this. Thank you, hopefully I will feel good for a few years of my life.
All I can say is everything you have talked about is true! My husband has been on a thyroid pill for years and was never getting better. The doctor didn't say anything about his diet. He had a leaky gut, always cold, stomach upset consistently. He had a colonoscopy and determined there wasn't anything wrong and he was told he had IBS. I knew that wasn't the answer so I looked for a doctor who specialized in stomach issues. We found a doctor who is wonderful. After an extensive blood work and stool sample, the doctor told him everything you said. Stay off gluten, soy, seed oils, etc. and that he had Hashimoto's. We didn't know he had an autoimmune disease. That was the first time that he was told that! He was put on a strict diet and takes supplements. He is so much better. I make his gluten free bread and snacks and he is so much better. Thank you for making this video!!
Thank you for writing your story here - it's encouraging 🙂 Maybe you'd be interested in Dr. E's cookbook as you prepare gluten-free meals for you husband and family. It's free so you can just download it anytime. Want the link?
Hands down, the best, most informative, educated, easy to follow, video on Hashimoto's I've ever watched! I will be sharing this with everyone I know. Thank you!🙏🏻
I also understand if you cover your neck area in the morning hours on a regular basis the basal temperature gets better so does thyroid issues. So many researchers and so many findings!
If true, this is great! I love simple solutions. I imagine a scarf would suffice. Heat increases circulation, makes sense it could improve function if the thyroid is impaired.
OMG🧐 my mom had thyroid remove and she passed 4 years ago, after a year of stress taking care of her. Also 1 1/2 year ago I gave blood but came back I had antibodies in my blood. Then had a bout of stomach issues and now after my hair problems I had blood test, thyroid ultrasound & then biopsy for lumps found. Wow it all makes sense and I love cookies, cake and other bad things. Thank you for breaking this issue down so we can understand our bodies instead of pushing pills. I will address the gluten issues going forward♥️
So sorry for your loss and what you went through. It's good to know that this video could help you in any way for your health. If you want more health info from Dr. E, you can download her course series for free. We can send the link if you'd like. Good luck on your health journey!
Very, very useful information is provided in this video on the thyroid. It is extremely important to get to the root causes And this video provided info that can be applied and used as source material.
Thank you, as your message was very informative. Unfortunately I now have no thyroid in my body, and still experience issues. My daughter just had surgery with removal of her right side thyroid. I just pray that people watch you and other informative people get a hold of their health. In this age, it's pills over healing or pills over the root cause. Again, thank you!
Wow! What an eye opener! Thanks for this very important explanation on the why of Hashimoto's, as well as why specific supplements support the whole system. Grateful!! ❤

Because of so many different aspects of my life I've recently, thanks to my therapist, I've come to the conclusion that I've been in fight or flight for possibly decades. Blood works the past couple of years have detected crazy high cortisol and tsh. The way I questioned my doctor was along the lines of "is there any way my cortisol being so high for so long that my thyroid has finally started to pack up? *, his reaction was" that's not really how it works ". Well, thank YOU for confirming my suspicions. I've been put on medication BUT I'm also addressing stress and general health. Because of disabili and other stuff I'll probably always be stressed but I can try to help it
Hello, this is Dr. E's team! It sounds like you've been through a lot, and it's commendable that you're taking steps to address your health comprehensively. Managing stress and supporting your general health can indeed make a significant difference, even with ongoing challenges. Have you found any particular strategies or approaches that are helping you manage stress effectively?
I have this, I also have acromegaly..which is now under control. I have been gluten free for years, because I started choking on my bread and other wheat products. I went to a doctor, who took me off of several foods, come to find out, wheat was causing my stomach issues. It has made a world of difference! Oh, I’ve learned so much from you! You’re such a blessing!
Wow ! That’s amazing I had H pi 25 years ago and that’s when I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and sadly I was going through A LOT OF STRESS back then as well. I’m new to your channel greetings from Palm Coast. I’m 56 years old. I will start a gluten free diet by tomorrow. Thank you ! Yvette
Hello, this is Dr. E's team! We are glad you found the video helpful and are taking steps to improve your diet. Going gluten-free can make a big difference. Wishing you all the best on your health journey!
My endocrinologist told me that my Hashimoto's is 100% resolved after having my thyroid removed and even marked it as a resolved condition in my medical history. lol "There's nothing in there for your body's immune system to fight anymore" verbatim.
@@Silver0426 I had to. I had multifocal papillary carcinoma (cancer) in the thyroid so it had to be removed. 100% Hormone replacement is awful. 0/10 would not recommend
I tried a MD. She put me on 50 levo...I felt like my old self. Next visit she drops me to 25 levo because she said my numbers were in the acceptable range. I felt like shizz. Went back and she basically said she wasn't concerned with how I felt as long my number was within range. It was barely over the lowest level considered 'normal'. I never went back. It's been 20 years. Maybe I will try again. Your video is interesting.
Hello, this is Dr. E's team! We are sorry to hear about your frustrating experience. We're glad you found the video interesting! If there's anything else you'd like to discuss or if you have more questions, feel free to ask.
Doctors are so dependent on MRI, CT, X-RAY, & bloodwork now. I started nursing in 1983 when docs actually LISTENED to their patients. 40 years later and retired, I struggled for 2 years with Hashimoto's after having COVID19 delta variant. This past August I'm finally feeling normal again taking levothyroxine 50 mcg daily and L- Thyrosine 1000mg & selenium 200mg per day.
How many times have I said, "it all started with nursing school"? Thanks to a doc I saw years ago, I have been gf for @ 20 years, but still cannot seem to get weaned off levothyroxine (the only med I take). You presented the best "in a nutshell" take on hypothyroidism I have ever seen--it actually made me cry with appreciation. I was in the process of tweaking my nutritional intake, and thanks to you, I have added a couple of things I was missing. I am so excited, thank you from the bottom of my heart!
@@ravenasher3985 Hi, this is Dr.E’s team here! 🧑⚕️ thank you so much for your kind words and we’re glad all this content has been helpful for you! 🙌❤️
To say this was eye opening is an understatement. So many of the things mentioned I have tried to relay to my doctors, friends anyone who might listen were contributors to my Hashi's. I had Scarlet Fever when I was 6 years old - my fever was so high I had delirium. After that I got strep multiple times. Then I developed a heart murmur and JVRA. I would randomly pass out and they never figured out why. This went on for a couple of years. With the JVA couldn't walk sometime. I am also 5'11 so the JVRA during my huge growth spurts ended up with me suffering through HORRIBLE pain. Then my mother signed me up for experimental JVRA medication testing and the medication had horrible side effects. I begged her to stop it and I was removed from the program, but at that point I was psychological and physically traumatized. Then I developed an eating disorder that lasted until my mid to late 20s. The heart murmur finally went away and the JVRA as well. Then in my mid to late I had a pretty traumatic break up with my Fiancé I was in relationship for 10 years and that is when I noticed the signs of Hashi's, but didn't know that is what it was or could be. I suffered for years trying to tell my providers I knew something was wrong and was dismissed that it was because I was fat/overwight or dismissed that is what happens when you have auto immune issues. That I needed to accept it and prepare myself for a lifetime of auto immune related issues. Now I am 52, menopausal , not on any medication after so many side effects from the medications and frustration with my care and issues with insurance. I am emotionally and physically exhausted from all the above and other events in my life that were pretty traumatizing. After my mothers death 3 years ago my weight has spiraled and I have very limited mobility. Crawling out of the depression and being overwhelmed by all the hormonal changes I am looking for a different provider that can assist with the multiple issues I have going on. My body with each year is less and less able to cope with the constant stress it is under.
Hello, this is Dr. E's team! Thank you for sharing your story. It’s truly eye-opening and highlights just how complex and challenging it can be to manage multiple health issues over time. We're sorry to hear about everything you’ve been through, and I can understand how exhausting and discouraging it must be to deal with so many layers of difficulty. Have you been able to find any support groups or resources that could offer guidance or emotional support during this time?
After years of dealing with allergies and chronic tonsillitis as a child, I then was diagnosed with asthma and food allergies in my late 20’s. An elimination diet and allergy shots helped yet it seemed I was allergic to everything. I developed Hashimoto’s in my late 30’s, then RA, then psoriasis. I also developed osteoarthritis and degenerative disc disease. In my late 60’s I was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s again as I began getting thyroid nodules. Exhausted most of the time yet I push myself to be active. At age 66, my PCP added T3 and for the first time in years I felt like I had the energy to do things. After watching your video, I wish someone had suggested a gluten free diet. A friend’s husband has celiac disease that was diagnosed as a child and I knew that I didn’t have his symptoms. I make meals and bread from scratch so my diet is healthy by most standards but apparently it is contributing to my health issues. I am hoping that some of the autoimmune diseases will subside. Thank you for your information. I will be eliminating even more from my diet starting now.
I have cut out all breads, boxed or canned foods over the past several years. I have cut out most carbs now too. I don't bake anymore either. I was a total insomniac which developed over years and came to a head this winter. Long story short, the day I added Iodine/Selenium (I now take 25 mg Tri Iodine) , was the day I found my whole sleep again! I've since upped to 20,000 iu of Vit D3 and several other vits/minerals. I cook from scratch. Flours in NA have Bromine added so that robs iodine from the body too, so purchase Bromine-free flour. My husband is generally on the same No-Added sugar diet and his psoriasis cleared up COMPLETELY as well as a teeth-plaque problem. Everything's healing because our immune system is being regenerated. KNOW that the American diet is meant to harm you. The big PHARMA and "FOOD" conglomerates are in lock-step to rob you of your very health- most don't believe this though, to their own detriment :( NO more doctors, "medications" and no more vaxxes! I and didn't take any Covid ones!). I'm 63 years healthy and my husband is 65- he referees circles around others in three sports. I do try to teach others but its like walking IN water- slomo! Thank you for sharing your journey with us. It sounds like you've been through so much, and your resilience is truly inspiring. Taking steps to explore new dietary approaches can be a game-changer. We are here for you!
You explain it wonderful. I needed 10 years to find all this out by my own, because my doctors said:"take the pills more is not possible to do". I found out:enough Vitamin D and no Gluten was the game changer= no thyroid antibodies no more!!!
Hello, this is Dr. E's team! Thank you so much for the kind words. We are happy that the information could help. I will make sure to let Dr. E know about this.
I like the way you think; everything starts in the gut! Also, listening to another doctor, he believes the liver may also be responsible. Many people not only have leaky gut’s, but they have fatty livers too. Either from alcohol abuse, or not eating the right foods through their lives.
We're happy the info could help! Liver is super important to look into as well 👍🏻 Would you like more health info from Dr. E? You can get a free access to her course series - let us know if you want the link to download :)
Thank you for creating such a clear video about Hashimoto's. I was first diagnosed with Hashimoto's while trying to figure out why my system was causing me to collapse into a myoclonic seizures (muscle twitching) followed by paralysis that would last for hours, while I was completely conscious. It took me years, even decades, to recognize the triggers... I discovered if I drank a pop (Pepsi or coke particularly) I would collapse into an episode. If I drank caffeine drinks... down I would go into an episode. My menstraul system tripped my system and I would have to lay down so I didn't collapse. If I exercised, exerted myself physically too much, walked too far, or anything that blew out my energy physically, I would collapse. Once I ended up in the hospital for just about a full week coming in and out of paralysis and eventually it got so bad my breathing was stopping for short periods while in this paralyzed state.. The doctors were puzzled. Eventually decided it had to be psychological. it was not! I kept telling the doctors they needed to look at the cellular level. I finally, after three decades, got a diagnosis from a doctor in San Francisco who just pulled it off the top of her head. I couldn't believe she figured it out that quickly! I live in Canada and there is no way the doctors there would have ever discovered what it was. It is a rare disease called hypokalemic periodic paralysis. Today I eat a very clean diet... no sugar, no carbohydrates, no caffeine, low sodium, no dairy, no wheat, no processed foods, all natural foods with lots of raw foods added. I avoid sugar, however, my system can handle honey. Honey is natural and my body can accept it without a backlash. In the last couple of years I went off of the thyroid medication because I wanted to get off of it and go natural. In the last few months my system has been heaving (also in menopause now) so I figure my hormones are out. It may have triggered since I've been sliding off track with my diet... I know better but I was allowing some indulgences like wine, sourdough bread (since it was fermented and organic), and a few junk foods I know I shouldn't eat like cheezies and chips. Well... bingo, my system started falling apart again. So now I'm pulling my diet back into order again. It kicked me hard enough so I'm back on track. Question: What would be good supporting foods for hasimoto's to put my hormones back into balance? I have never been able to take B12 or B6 vitamins because they give me a reaction in any brand. I've tried many times but my system won't take it. I can eat raw foods and accept it that way no problem. I would like to know why I can't take those vitamins and what I might need to do to fix that?
Thank you for this. I appreciate how you broke everything down and explained things very clearly and easily. I have Hashimoto’s and it’s been a ride. Thank God for my Naturopathic Medical Doctor and practitioners like you who care about educating and treating the whole person.
I’m thankful for you…I have hashis and try to be gluten free, but the dietician I met with yesterday was quick to tell me it’s not necessary, and that whole wheat/grains and dairy are important 🤦🏽♀️
We're just happy the video could help! :) So sorry that you had to be dismissed that way by a medical provider. If you want to do more digging, Dr. E has a course series that you can get for free. Let us know if you'd like the link to it.

Why can’t this be taught in General Medicine. We are all getting bad advice and direction from our GPDs still.. and because of this our system and symptoms get worse and worse.. it’s slowly killing us! And the Drs are telling us it’s us we just need to do better with our diet, giving us the wrong diet recommendations, and that we don’t exercise enough we need to do more. I can do more and my metabolism is dead! So I feel like a failure to my own body.. because I’m not being taught how to properly heal myself. I’m thankful that Drs like you are getting the word out through these various medias .. so that we that have dealt with this disease for so long and have not been properly advised can actually have some hope and tools to tackle this. So thank you.
I was diagnosed with Hashimotos in my 20s I’m 57 now. In my 40s I was diagnosed through biopsy with Vulva Lichen Sclerosis which is incredibly painful also linked to autoimmune diseases, then in my 50s I became allergic to everything and couldn’t breathe Severe Asthma, I now have a multitude of inhalers and meds to help me breathe I also have Anosmia (can’t smell a thing) sinus degeneration. Osteoarthritis in both hips etc etc. oh and diverticulitis. All related I guess. I’ve been under considerable stress really for most of my life from childhood to adulthood. So this makes sense. GP has me on 150mg of thyroxine daily, that’s it. He says my blood tests are fine, but I feel like crap and ache all over I’m also overweight and have a problem with bing eating disorder.
Hi, this is Dr. E's team. Thank you for sharing your journey. It’s tough to deal with so many health issues, especially when they seem interconnected. Chronic stress can indeed impact various aspects of health. We wish you better health and relief.
Oh my Gosh! This is the best explanation I have heard since my diagnosis. Especially for my loved ones who are so confused as to why I am still not well after being on meds for 3 years. I was recently diagnosed with spinal Arthritis as well which has made me even more immobile. My bloodwork is abnormal and they still can't figure out what else is going on, so for those of you just starting on the autoimmune journey, pay attention to the whole system verses focusing exclusively on the Thyroid. You NEED to stop the ceiling from leaking rather than just mopping the floor. Dr. E, thank you!
OMG! This is incredible and totally supports everything I've been doing to treat myself. I have always said "Ever since I had the Flu in 1996, my gut has NEVER been the same!" Doctors just looked at me with blank stares and made me feel like I was nuts. Finally in 2010, I went gluten-free and my gut felt much better. Again, doctors would just pooh-pooh the whole gluten insensitivity. (Pardon the pun) They made me feel like I was crazy. One even said there really is no reason to be gluten free unless you test positive for celiac. But I knew how much better I feel without the gluten. As you stated, unless you address the cause, the symptoms will get worse. So after things felt off again, I added probiotics daily. I see my doctor again soon, so I will be pushing for more tests. I also recently went through swollen glands and esophageal issues and am now on Omeprazole for GERD. I also have a Schatzki's ring in my esophagus. But that ENT also made me feel like I was imagining the swollen throat gland issues. Seriously these doctors make me feel like I'm imagining things. I wish I had someone who would listen to me truly!
Wow, what a journey you've been on! Kudos to you for being your own advocate and finding what works for you, like going gluten-free and adding probiotics.

Great information. It’s really frustrating that I have fought with my doctors for years. No one ever talks about diet. I’m now gluten free for 90 days and feel better. Adding the recommended supplements. Thank you so much you have made a difference.❤
Thank you for that wonderful explanation! I was sure there was more to the story about Hosimotos than my doctors were saying. I take both T4 & T3 "bc I don't convert well." No one ever said the conversion is in the gut. I have been gluten-free for 15 years for CFS & and Fibro. I can't say it made a positive change for me, but one doctor said it would make a difference. It was easy for me to do since I cared for my Mom, who had Celiac disease. (I have had the blood test & don't have Celiac.) I also had EBV (mono) in college. I had a very stressful job for 30 years. I think I have a lot to work on. Thank you for your wonderful way of explaining the inter-relationships! I am so glad I found your channel on RUclips!

Why is sulfur not mentioned? It crosslinks proteins making stronger tissues. It also is the key to insulin. NAC helps process vitamin D. Thanks very much!

Ive heard quite a few talk about this. Instantly subscribed, you gave so much cohesive information. Im so grateful because I swear I argue and advocate that why don’t we figure out what the actual problem is!!!

Thank you for explaining this the best way I ever heard. I have been suffering from hypothyroidism for over a decade and nobody not even my doctor have a explained the Hashimoto and all the causes
I was diagnosed with Hashi about 15 years ago. I also have had digestive problems (diarrhea) almost my whole life. I also have MTHFR gene mutation. I have never thought that it was all connected, but I guess it is.
This is gold, thank you so much. Ive just been diagnosed with Underactive thyroid and Dr immediately wants me to go on Thyroxine for the rest of my life. As someone who never takes paracetamol for a migraine. this is NOT something Ill even consider. So this has come at the perfect time. God is watching over me for sure. I tried all of the remedies you suggested for 2 weeks, thinking it would bring my TSH down - instead it skyrocketed it 3x up! Not sure how that happened.. But Im going to keep going with it, and do some serious detoxing, fasting, and zeolite to get the toxins out of me Thank you so much.

Same here too.... it took 12 years of complaining, the last 3 years of that asking for an antibody test... my dr would say, "lets see what your blood work looks like" meaning, all my labs were ALWAYS "normal" so he saw no reason to do an extra test. (I swear these drs act like they have to pay for the test themselves!) It wasn't until I went to see my dr and I was scared because my thyroid actually hurt! He sent me for an ultrasound, and AGAIN said we would wait and see what my results were before doing an antibody test! Ultrasound showed nodules and I think that is the only reason he did the antibody test, because surprise surprise! My labs were NORMAL! But the antibodies were over 1,000. They really do not care.

State medical boards are typically made up of volunteer physicians and members of the public who are, in most cases, appointed by the governor. Basically, government-run healthcare is our problem.
I'm right there with you my primary has me on drugs for 15 years and decides to retire so I see a new doctor and he tests me for TPO never even knew anything about it and sure enough it came back completely elevated and my primary was surprised he was ordering that test.

Honestly though think it was heavy periods and years of chronic anemia not being diagnosed. "You need iron to convert t4 to t3". No wonder my poor thyroid was a dumpster fire.

Congratulations, Jill! Wishing you the very best future.
I am very happy for you but believe me when I say there is NOONE here to help I tried IF for over a year didn't help fat and cholesterol just hung on and I did"t eat sweats did very strict KETO for over a YEAR and HALF in last 3 months have gained 6 more pounds@@em945

Btw, who is that doctor?? Can we have off shore consultation
Hi, this is Dr. E's team. Sorry to hear about what you're going through. How are you feeling now?
I also told him that perhaps he should go back to school and do some C.E.U's for "Functional Medicine" protocols to treat
Hashimoto's. He didn't think that was funny
10000000% my VA doctor said something similar, like it didn’t matter

Selinium, iron and B vitamins. That's what I've heard at least. Good luck.
Found a functional medicine Dr and found I have Lyme's & Epstein-Barr. Researching Lyme's I found the thyroid thing can really be Lyme.( I suspect this in my case since the meds don't work consistently)good luck finding a Dr. Look for someone who knows Lyme's and does alternative and complementary treatments, ie: herbs, IV vitamin C, infrared sauna,
Address the stress in your life. Stress causes more problems and impacts your health in more ways than you would have ever thought possible.
I finally went gluten free/low dairy after being told for 18 months by my GP and rheumatologist that it wasn’t necessary. Saw an improvement in symptoms after a few weeks. Suffice to say I found new doctors.
Kudos for taking control of your health! 💪🏻

Your immune system mistakenly attacks your thyroid making it underactive and effecting the entire body."
You can mop the floor all day but if you dont fix the hole in the ceiling, you're gonna be mopping all day and that hole is gonna get bigger and bigger, more water is gonna keep coming down and you aint gonna keep up with the mopping.
Hashimotos is the end result of a systemic problem thats been happening for a long time.
Triggers: Stress - trauma, chronic stress, viruses, high cortisol, heavy metal toxins, all these things chemically effects and causes havoc to your immune system
If you have hashimotos you have leaky gut and gluten intolerance.
Your thyroid keeps being assaulted because your security system is still malfunctioning.
T4 conversion to T3 happens in yhe gut and liver. The type of bacteria in your gut determines this conversion process.
Until you check under the hood you aint gonna block up the hole in the ceiling.
Iodine - need it but not too much
Selenium - bodyguard for thyroid
Zinc
Iron
Vitamin D
B12
Omega 3
Probiotics
Ashwaghanda
Anti viral support
Lysine
Whole body issue - requires a whole systemic approach.
What a takeaway! Amazing. :)
Awesome analogy and advice all in one spot thank you so so much you are so awesome
Thank you so much for your effort, this is a great summery - particularly for a not native speaker like me...!!! 🙂

Sigh…..
I'm praying for you, for the right help, the right people to be in your life, for healing. Go to Lakewood Church and they will pray for you. ♥️🫂
No, they're not
I just discovered the gut connection.
I'm glad you are doing better!
Thank you for this. Too many people are stilling completely dependent on what their doctors says, which is always pharma or surgery and pharma.

Doctor, I heard this autoimmune disease is due to the Epstein Barr Virus (aka mono) what is your take on this?

❤❤❤. Thank you so much for all of that. Yes, I ve heard a lot that migraines connected to gluten.

This has led me to realize that my MECFS goes to the root cause of hypothyroidism and hypoglycemia. Most probably all this was caused by the Tetanus shot that I didn't want back in 2017. Or perhaps further back to my fainting spell which was caused by hypoglycemia in 2013.

My thyroid started acting up when I went through a bad divorce. Then I had to be on a very strong antibiotic. Gave me C-diff. Then a systemic yeast infection then my thyroid went south even more.
I have had hoshimotoes since 2015. I tried going gluten-free and didn't feel anything. Did I not do it long enough.
@@boxerblvd3514 Hello, this is Dr. E's team! Sorry to hear about that! Would you like to book a consultation with Dr. E so she can answer all of your questions?
@@boxerblvd3514 more than wheat has gluten. Rice, corn, rye, grains all have types of gluten. Try removing all grains! Once I removed it , I saw a difference. I replaced those with sweet potato, yucca, tapioca, arrowroot. AIP diet changed my hashi’s and adhd symptoms after about 1.5 months strictly following.
@@boxerblvd3514 ...Some people have to remove gluten and dairy from their diet. And sugar too.
It is working!!!!!
this give me so much hope, thanks for sharing. God bless u.
thank u, this give me solid hope, blessings
How strictly are you eliminating gluten and dairy? What if a product says "make contain traces of wheat" for example. Is that already enough to notice symptoms?
@@AnnikaBergmannArt Hi, I am strict ,but when it says may contain it is not a bother. What sometimes happens is that the product should be gluten or milk free, but I get the symptoms, and later this particular product is removed from the shelf.
During my journey I met a girl who had similar symptoms so I shared my tips with her, she said, she can't give up gluten, she later found out she is Coeliac, after removing gluten, she's ok :)
I really hope this can help someone, and don't get me wrong, I LOVE the taste of gluten and dairy products - miss them so, so, so much! But unfortunately and fortunately this works for me.
Make sure that your Iodine level is ok! Your thyroid can't function without it.
What a systematic depict of this desease. Only highly professional can fully look into every aspects of it.

I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism 24 years ago… never told anything but to take levothyroxine.

I always thought it wasn’t a coincidence that my thyroid went hypo after I got Lyme disease
I had Lyme Disease and that's when I got Hashimoto's . Lot of antibiotics and lots of stress on the body. I did take Diflucan to prevent yeast.
Lyme in 2006, Hashimotos in 2008.
Thank you for your feedback! We're glad you resonated with Dr. E's explanation about this topic :) Would you like to get free course series from Dr. E?

Doctors are so dependent on MRI, CT, X-RAY, & bloodwork now.

Liver is super important to look into as well 👍🏻

Thank you! Happy to know the information could help! ❤❤

Can the use of LDN replace the gf diet?
Being gluten free is very important with hashimoto thyroiditis. You should get tested for gluten sensitivity and celiac
Because pharmaceutical companies and insurance companies don't want that. They make money from drugs.
Come through! That was one of @ 10:53 the most user friendly explanations. Keep keeping on you are doing the real work 🙏🏽
@@ASherosJourney Hi, this is Dr.E’s team here! Thank you for your feedback🙌❤️
Hello, this is Dr. E's team! We're glad the information resonated with you. If you have any more questions or need further guidance, feel free to ask!
You might have eosinophilic esophagitis. My husband has this and it is due to a dairy allergy.
Wow, what a journey you've been on! Kudos to you for being your own advocate and finding what works for you, like going gluten-free and adding probiotics.
So well described! I've known most of this but it was all in pieces in a heap on the floor. Thanks for putting the puzzle together.

Yep...3 years into a Hashimotos roller coaster I was diagnosed with Celiac which was the underlying nightmare stressing my thyroid
Hi, this is Dr. E's team. Sorry to hear about what you're going through. How are you feeling now?
Great information. It’s really frustrating that I have fought with my doctors for years. No one ever talks about diet. I’m now gluten free for 90 days and feel better. Adding the recommended supplements. Thank you so much you have made a difference.❤

Hi, this is Dr. E’s team here! 🧑⚕️ We’re so glad to know you’re feeling better after going gluten-free!🙌🙌
This is by far the best introduction discussion/lecture I've seen on this subject. Subbed!

Please note blood test is not accurate for celiac, the only 100% true test is endoscopy with biopsy of intestine.
I was 14 yrs old when I was told by the endocrinologist
I was Hypothyroid and Hashimotos

Hello, this is Dr. E's team! Unfortunately, Dr. E doesn't manage these comments, but I will make sure to ask Dr. E about this. Thank you!
It would be helpful to talk about menopause and thyroid
I asked my Rheumatologist about that and she said she didn't know if there was a connection between the two. Not sure how good of a Rheumatologist she is?
Why is sulfur not mentioned? It crosslinks proteins making stronger tissues. It also is the key to insulin. NAC helps process vitamin D. Thanks very much!
So does vit. K2
Great comment yes sulfur I had a naturopath subscribe that it did wonders

Im researching everything possible about my conditions and Ive had many testing done that I demanded from my PCP but the way you speak about this… IS everything. Ive heard quite a few talk about this. Instantly subscribed, you gave so much cohesive information. Im so grateful because I swear I argue and advocate that why don’t we figure out what the actual problem is!!!

I was diagnosed with Hashi about 15 years ago. I also have had digestive problems (diarrhea) almost my whole life. I also have MTHFR gene mutation. I have never thought that it was all connected, but I guess it is.
Excellent communication!

But Im going to keep going with it, and do some serious detoxing, fasting, and zeolite to get the toxins out of me
Thank you so much.

So, why aren't doctors "checking under the hood?" I've been hypothyroid for 30 years and never once has a doctor checked for Hashimoto's.
I was checked my first year, but I had to press the Dr
Same! They don’t care
@@mickimc2883 They are told what the "standard of care" is and if it isn't the standard of care to do something, they don't want to do it. This was made much worse when the government stuck its nose into the business of healthcare. Healthcare professionals are not allowed to think outside the box. Members of state medical boards typically assess and determine whether care rendered by licensees is comparable to care provided by similarly qualified and reasonable physicians under the same or similar circumstances.
Thank you very much for this very clear and helpful explanation
