this thing is my favorite blaster. six shots, semi auto, no rev up time, and it shoots fast.
nerfs sipping the flywheel cool aid now, but THIS (semi auto airgun) is where its at.

I LOVE the Hornet. I put some brass (and PVC, to hide the exposed brass) on the barrels to hold the whole thing, and took the overpressure stuff out. I like to run it in my CQC "Shotgunner" loadout- Sledge pistol on one leg, Roughcut on the other, and a Hornet primary.

KekilandF1nnB0mbr you could take a triad as a pistol to! Just remove the ar and put in a better spring and you have yourself a shotgun pistol
ErtyHD I've experimented with these before, they're alright if you need something compact, but I'd rather stick with my Sledgepistol.

2019 and mine (while semi-auto is broke) the shotgun mode remains my favorite backup

Seirra Moon ebay, amazon or thrift stores, this blaster was released in 2003 so good luck finding it in stores

Im guessing that mine was defective because it want powerful enough to even shoot the dart completely out of each barrel no matter how many times I pumped it up.
Yeah, the hornet is known for having production quality issues. Apparently one of the easier one to deal with is that the mechanism manage the air tanks (part of the priming mechanism) isn't always correctly attached, so you have to open up the hornet to place it back in properly.
Mine also has that problem, I’ve had it almost ten years

I got a Hornet when I bought my Titan on eBay. Sadly the Hornet did not function AT ALL, and the Titan leaks... But I only paid like $10 :P
I tried to take it apart, and couldn't find the issue, so I ended up just chucking it.

I just ordered one of these.
I'm an engineering student, so I've got access to 3D design software and various machines and whatnot.
I'm gonna take it apart and see if I can reverse engineer the components with metal rather than plastic, and replace the pump by a more efficient one. Hopefully i can increase the air pressure of operation without ruining the performance, wish me luck!

Oh, wow, you're right. Although it does have that "cardinal feature of the dart in a barrel sticking out half an inch" or whatever.

You keep making entertaining and informative videos about the exact Nerf/Boomco I am interested in, and which costs me nothing to watch. Where does this leave me? Where do I allot the time to view all this great content?
I'll tell you where my Walcoms7 viewing time comes from, I have to replace other media I enjoy less, like TV and many films. I was watching a film yesterday, and I ended up turning it off because this video was a better use of my time. So what of the millions it took to make that film? All wasted now, at least from my perspective.
Tag Back! Covers the older blasters I am interested in from a modern perspective, and particularly from the Walcoms7 perspective... Which is a mix of practical information, sound modding thoughts, and a healthy appreciation of aesthetics.... It's like crack for nerf lovers.

This is one of the most unreliable blasters out there. I might be doing something wrong but the Hornet rarely ever works for me. I fired in exactly how it was done in the video (load darts, pump fifteen times, press large orange button) and the top two darts would not fire, two would drop after moving two feet and the others would go about ten feet. Is there some sort of trick that I'm missing, is my blaster defective, or does the Hornet suck?

A03X Plays It's a weird blaster. You pump it up, then prime that slide forward, then you're good for 6 semi-auto shots.

I have one of these... But it doesn't work :( I got it for $2.50 at goodwill so I wasn't expecting it to work too well anyways
+Darth Sickler Two of mine are 3$ goodwill finds and they work. What's wrong with it? Like I said, the tanks and the pump are worthwhile. Use the Hornet Pump to make an NoM'd AT3k.
WalcomS7 It appears that the previous owner attempted to modify it by drilling out the air restrictors, and ended up drilling through the part that holds air inside each tank, rendering 4 out of the 6 barrels useless. And the two barrels that do work hold very little air, with only one barrel actually firing a dart and going only about 8 feet.
