I bought a retaliator for cheap because it was 'broken', opened it, pulled 4! mangled darts out of the mechanism and now it works fine. Hurray for diagnostics and repair!
Hurray! :D
Mine shreds darts all the time
I had a zombie strike dart in the back of my modulus and like a year later I shook it out somehow
This doesnt have anything directly to do with this video, but I wanted to thank you for all the effort you've put into your videos. They have helped me alot. Yesterday I just finished painting and modding a hammershot (first mod). Today I fixed a retaliator that had a jam in the slide and trigger that I got for 3.00. It's been a very gratifying experience and my son (7yo) thinks I'm some sort of nerf god now lol
I know this is an older video, but I saw the Vulcan so naturally I watched. It's super cool of you to help people with their repairs like this, and of course visually through videos as well. Half of the electronic stuff that I come across when it "doesn't work" luckily has to do with corroded battery connections, and it's always good to try the obvious first. Other times, parts are simply missing or otherwise defective from the get go. I found a Roughcut from Value Village that I believe was missing an air restrictor spring through its entire life. Another was a Spylight with a faulty cylinder due to the smaller rotation thing plugged into it being crooked and needing to have an alignment peg shaved down in order to sit flush and allow proper rotation. These were not difficult repairs once I figured out what was wrong, but rather unfortunate given the toys would have spent their entire life with their original owner, likely a children not working properly before eventually being given away.
At least when something is visibly broken or worn down, we can assume it was simply played with a lot while it still functioned. I'm glad that kids or parents of kids especially can find your videos and their helpful nature, and the advice can apply to just about anything.
I know I’m years late saying this, but an excellent way to get rid of battery corrosion on contacts is to brush/swab it off with Isopropyl alcohol. I’ve done it a couple times, and it’s saved a lot of electronics.
Had a friendly NERF war at my flat today, and my friend's EAT blew half of it bolt assembly out of its barrel. :-/
An hour of comparative anatomy with my own working EAT and some digging around online and I figured out it was still running like 1/2 of the sprung AR system, so it had no power when fired.
10 minutes of drilling, and padded the plunger with foam from a dead dart, and it lives! It even shoots a little harder than before.
Thanks for these (repair and CITAK26) videos Cap'n, they're great tutorials for getting a feel for what's going on inside our NERF guns.
:-)
DearCaptain Xavier, having watched some of your old monday mod tips and other videos, I noticed you said you weren't going to do any vids/a series on integrations (at least not for awhile). Which i can respect, it's a long and difficult topic to break down. However, could you at least do a video on different types of glues and adhesives, and what they are best used for? Love you content, keep up the awesome work.
I’m half a day into a double barrel nemesis mod. Thought I was the only nut up tonight. 😁 greetings humans of earth.✋
I enjoyed as always. I love all of the original and new content series that you have on your channel, and I can say that diagnostics and repair is awesome, even for those who don't send there blasters in because they can just watch one of your videos that had a similar problem to there blasters, and will potentially be able to locate and fix the problem.
Yes! Finally a new video! Kinda funny that the khaos missed its magazine cap and the owner didnt notice.nice vid! Hoping for more.
I have an Alphahawk, brand new from Toys R Us (Canada), that will not let me pull the priming handle back far enough to catch. Suspect it was already primed by some kid in the store, but it won’t fire.
It could also be a factory flaw. Those do happen.
Awesome! I have watched your channel for one year at this point. I love these videos.
Not trying to be overly toxic or anything, but define "years." I've watched from the beginning, and this channel isn't even 2 years old yet, sir or madam. Again, not trying to be a troll or anything, just wanted to point it out. We can all enjoy the videos here together. Have a good day.
When I stated that JoNesKIDD002 I meant one year thank you for your comment. I shall be editing my comment.
@@uhnji9383 Oh, no it's fine. Happy to see it.
JoNesKIDD002 well still thank you. People like you are what remove toxicity and bring happiness into a community.
For battery terminal corrosion o use vinegar... eats it up... then you just need to rinse off the terminals... even easier then files
I remember when I repaired my Recon MKII and after finished, I removed a few locks, but I thought the price that keeps the dart inside of the firing tube was a lock, so I killed the thing... Lol.
It can still work without it mine doesn't have one and it works fine
@@haydenadams8760 The darts fall right out the end for me.
Nice armband cap! I made the exact same one!
What did I do to that Firefly?...
Stuck it to the back of a revreaper
Power to the lefties cap. Viva la lefties

I had to pay £30 for a spare Khaos mag as they only sold them in the US so I had to import one, I thought it wasn't a bad deal as it came with 40 HIR's.
The Khaos is in my opinion, the best Rival blaster, Zeus being second, I can't stand gravity feed, but that's just personal preference.
I may have to email you about my Alphahawk mod, it just doesn't "sit" right.
I think all Vulcans need to be rewarded, the full auto hardly works on them since they were made in the 2000's or something
Whenever somebody says precise i think of beret saying précise

Oh that's why my stampede doesn't work
@Paul Martin corroded battery tray
I'm starting to wonder if checking the power source is as obvious of a first move as I think it should be, or if it's just my education and experience with electrical devices.
It is, but keep in mind, many of my viewers are 12 or younger and thus have neither the education nor the experience that we have.
@@CaptainXavier I actually would have looked at that when I was 12, but I also had a good amount of electrical knowledge then too...

Would removing the magazine lock in the Khaos also be a viable solution?
No. The magazine will not properly feed without the top part. So the blaster would rev and fire...but would instantly jam.
Oh captain my captain, Can you make a stryfe integration in a centurion?
Is this a rhetorical question?
I just thought it would be a cool project
I wouldn't use a stryfe. I would use a Rapidstrike. It fits better.
Captain Xavier I think Mr. Nathan is working on something similar atm
Yup, that is why I know it fits better.
Hey Captain Xavier! I was finding this Nerf N-Strike Titan AS-V.1 Repair/fixing tutorial video about a year ago when I saw your video last year, I had a similar problem with this NERF N-strike Titan AS-V.1. Because The Pressure gauge is Broken or Missing the Hose spring that i Had a lot of problems too. So If you aren't busy something, can you make a Modding guide on the NERF Titan asv.1 video?
The Khaos Mag has a 3d file for the solution you seek
...you mean like the one I print and install and test IN THIS VIDEO!?
@@CaptainXavier yeah, I may have commented while watching. Dont worry facepalm was involved.
What did we learn? ;P

Captian x that battery was backwards in the vulcan
When?
When you first pulled out the battery tray
I have rewatched the footage twice now...and near as I can tell they are all in correctly and the battery tray was in the right way so I am not sure what your are referring to.
Ooh I'm sorry for wasting your time a battery looked backwards to Me. Love your videos
I've got a Titan tank that is squeaking on the inside of the tank when i pump it up. Is there anything that i could do to get it to stop squeaking?
Lube
With one of your many Vulcans you should make the tomislov from tf2 (it’s a replacement mini gun for the heavy)
I had to look it up but you know...I kinda like it
Captain Xavier I would make it myself but I don’t have a Vulcan
has anyone ever gone into a home depot or lowes and asked one of the employees "where's the lube isle"
what 3D printer do you use ?

Dear Captain Xavier:
I bought a Nerf Titan AS-V.1 IN 2 weeks ago when I Tried to Pump the Titan Air pressure gauge and it didn't get into max gauge because its doesn't pump at very high gauge power because its is a pain in the butt of every time that I've even pump to max gauge. Does really it's a air leak that I've had to pump 20 times and its does not goes on full air max air, do have a suggestions of what is the issues that the Nerf Titan Had an air leak?
-pedroj234
I cover Titan Air leaks...in this video. You need to isolate the leak. Alternatively the issue could be the o-ring on the pump being worn out.
@@CaptainXavier Not the pump or the o-ring is been worn out, but is the pressure gauge valve that is been leaked. But I am fixing the good old NERF N-Strike Titan AS-V.1 AIR LEAK PROBLEM.
Here's is my question:
Does I can replace the air pressure gauge leak, by replacing with some of pressure gauge indicator? OR it's is by to GLUE it the air gauge leak, Its that possible?

Hello Xavier and fans, does anybody know a place where I can get Longshot springs in the UK without paying an arm and a leg for shipping?
What about 2 arms and a foot?
@@kittfoonya3476 I prefer to pay with small amounts of currency rather than body parts.
Thanks to the UK's tariffs no place in the world can ship to the UK cheaply. You would have to find a manufacturer in the UK and I don't know of any.
Try blasterparts.de
@@HindbaerSnitten Still the same price of the spring itself, maybe I'll just give in.
