Regarding the Ultra darts being recolored; There were a few polypropelyne training swords around for a bit that weren't just black, so it's definitly possible to color them, but I don't know if those were just painted, and I don't know why I haven't seen them in a few years, so it might be that the dyes weaken the plastic.
Ultra is just Ultra weird but I like the ammo not the blaster though. But now Hasbro needs to rerelease the 95 crossbow but make it shoot ultra in the Icon line
Need to get you a big UV flashlight. It'll make the tips blaze in the grass and much easier to find. Strategy i picked up playing night games. Almost every dart has a UV reactive part.
Ok, the Crossbow shooting ultras is awesome. But consider: something modded on the level of Dracs old Crossbow, Lillith, but using the stock barrel material for ultras >:)

My Crossbow made weird noises in 1995 and that was before I put 2 bungee cords on it. Oh, the glory days. There was a little rush of adrenaline just now from the memory of a friend pointing a thumbtack dart at me. 🥰
Ultra darts can also be shoved into a Big Bad Bow if you cut out some of the plastic from the front of the barrel. Dart fit is a little tight, but it works.

The problem with the crossbow wasn't really the ammo, though. It's that-- as you say -- 25 years isn't kind to plastic. They started to crumble in the mid 2000s, which lead to designs like the plusbow--which eventually just resolved into the caliburn (effectively a bunch of old crossbow mods that uses magazines). If you have a crossbow right now, and take it to a war, its priming handle will snap in like an hour.

The Chain Blazer fires Ultra darts without modification, and it shoots them more accurately than my Ultra 2. I tested that with a Chain Blazer I found at Goodwill today. :D
Thanks for pointing this out! I would have never imagined trying this myself on my stock X-bow. My main worry is wearing down the internals of the X-bow, but once I figure out how to safely modify and upgrade the internals, I would definitely keep the barrel stock given that I could just use Ultras.
I got an expand a blast a while back simply because I liked the look of it, now I may have to crack it open and modify it. That ridiculous plunger tube should have quite the potential

I own a stock crossbow that I bought NiB about a year ago. It was barely played with until I purchased it. It doesn't work very well with my ultra darts. These results may vary between crossbows for anyone looking at this and immediately wanting to throw out the cash for a crossbow.
If you want the darts to fire well, maybe try cutting/drilling a hole down the middle of the darts so that the nerf ultra darts at least catch some air when firing.
@@Kreiser_VII Completely modify the Ultra Pharaoh to actually work like a bolt action rifle. I high-key got inspired when he said that Ultra's true potential comes from springers and not flywheelers.

I had the sharpshooter 2 as a kid. Ive been looking for the name of it. I loved that wen u moved the slide on the front it changed the barrel. At least mine did.
Thanks for taking the plunge for this video, very informative and helpful on a subject we've all wondered over the past few months once we learned Ultra is a close fit to old Mega. Shamefully I don't have any of the blasters compatible but maybe with a little breeching of the barrels I can use up to 3 of them (I can testify the Ratchet Blaster is tragically fragile - broke after my second use of a dart in it). And I dig that Ultra 95 design. Figures that the blaster named Ultra previous to the current line is compatible with Ultra darts, really makes you think 🤔

They take a really long time to get done, lots of videos and setup, moving lights, etc. I used to shoot multiple segments for Practical Nerf and edit it on my phone while I was at work waiting for customers.
Hey @Walcom S7 have you tried some electrical tape, paint, or a wrap to make the colors more visible when picking the darts off the ground? That may also help the seals with the vintage blasters. Good videos keep up the good work.
I really want to see this 100 fps dart comparison, but please include AF waffles, accufakes, worker gen 2/3, sweet oranges, and any other good 50 cal ammo types that hobbyists use

Great video but it’s just not worth it 1.) you have to have a crossbow and if u don’t there very expensive 2.) ultra ammo doesn’t have any perks at my local war and I assume many other wars so running this would be cumbersome and annoying for what it is

No, his wasn't double stacked. He used a Worker Dominator magazine, which double stacked Elite darts, but fits single stacked Ultra darts nicely.
