This is a blaster I would have never dreamed I would get my hands on. I mentioned it multiple times over the year, in fact my entire Tag Back on the N-Strike Barrel Break IX-2 was made just to show off the Panther Barrel Break... and here we are. Bobololo sold this beauty to me, and I couldn't be happier. It's still one of the most powerful, effective blasters we have in the hobby. Versatile both as a long-range tagger, or a mid-range deleter: the Panther Barrel Break shows just what can be done if you work with a blaster you absolutely hate.

Ok, I say this on everyone's video that I am subscribed to that posts a Raid sponsorship. First off people don't blame the creator for this. If he believes he needs the money and this is how he wants to do it then it's fine. I must say though for those who don't know or never touched this game. It is everything wrong with the mobile gaming industry and RUclips sponsorships as a whole. Almost all of the advertising is lawsuit worthy false advertising. Their amazing next-gen graphics are ps2 era. Their "most ambitious MMORPG of the year" is a turn-based hero brawler that allows you to press a button and have the game play for you. Of the hundreds of characters, most of them are reskins of the base characters with better stats. And that amazing relics and loot they talk about mainly come from loot boxes that you can buy. To actually compete with people in pvp you must buy the loot boxes and hope you get good loot. It is an abhorrent dumpster fire of a game that is genuinely trying to trick kids into buying loot boxes when they have no concept of what's right and not in the gaming sphere. Please never support these developers or their games. This is the worst of the worst in videogames.

I say open it up and give it a proper upgrade. I hate those line couplers and there are smaller options available for cheaper than we could find back in the day. The tanks could possibly use a lubricant flush, better pump for sure or new lube, better breeches, etc etc. Buuut to beware- it could be a disaster inside after all these years. Up to you!

really thats cool u say to freshen it up man that is a part of mod history ment to inspire now to hang that on wall and it inspire him to due and place on wall next too yours. would be 100x better in my eyes... wont ruin a part of nerf history (for modder to start with and learn from) and also show where we are in ner now and what we can do different/better.... by the way respect bobo and welcom both i love that cali mods and ive leard so much from both of you... up to over 50 different blaster modded at different stages in 5 months so thank you both

I personally wouldn’t change much about the aesthetics of the blaster: the functionalist, “hacked together” look gives it A LOT of charm imo. I would add the brass breaches and stuff though

No kidding. NOM was my gateway into nerf modding. I used to check his channel every couple months to see if he had uploaded and maybe I just missed it. After I while I stopped doing that, and even now I'm pretty sure im not even subbed to him. I understand moving on from a hobby, but going from so prevalent to nothing so suddenly was very jarring.
He has a job, wife, and kids now. He doesn't have time for the hobby anymore.

I’d say brass barrels and dual-stage pump, but leave the rest of it alone. Those fittings are iconic and one of a kind.

Bobo has/had some awesome air blasters. I was tempted by it, but I settled for a different air blaster an I'm glad you got it. You'll definitely enjoy it more than I ever could.
Regarding modding it, I'd fix the air leak, but wouldn't change much else. As you said, it was a blaster that you envied for years and it inspired you greatly. I think it's be neat to see your take on the thing. You obviously have a barrel break and a couple panthers, why no make your own?
Of course, the blaster belongs to you now and it's your free will to do with it as you please. I just think it'd be nice to leave the piece of history as is.

Hey i remember seeing this thing when they finished the build. That thing is still a monster. I really think you should breath some new life into it. I get the whole putting it on the shield and admiring it but really its a cool blaster that should see some action on the field once again. Mod it!!!

I remember absolutely loathing this thing because I freaking adored the barrel break and in the first 2 minutes of the video he like screams at the top of his lungs how much of a piece of shit it is and throws it against the wall with the freaking might of thor.

Personally, if it were me, I would open it up to look how they did it, take all the pictures imaginable, and put it back together for display. Then reverse engineer a new one out of fresh components with all the improvements you mentioned, as well as any other fixes or upgrades you can come up with on the way. Start from scratch to make something tailored to be exactly what you want without compromises.

Part of me agrees that you should upgrade it, but also, I think this blaster is iconic. It's history. It belongs in a museum.
I say, make a Mk II. Even Iron Man keeps his old armors around, and starts from scratch with his upgraded suits.

If you could keep the old girl looking roughly the same (in silhouette) with brass, new pump, a good clean etc etc, that would be the best possible outcome.

Go for the Brass Barrels, make the adjustments to pump and maybe give a bit of paint. Fix the airvleak, but otherwise keep the internals buttoned up. It's a piece of a history that just needs minor tweaks.

tbh i think the fastest way to reload that would be to make extra inner barrels and keep them preloaded, since those appear to just be lengths of cpvc with a piece of larger pvc on the end

You can easily modify the marshmallow blaster with a 3 barrel absolver, mine shoots 3 elite darts 100 feet, or you can shoot 9 ear plugs out of it.

That should be a collectable, you should shelve it and put it in a glass case. Either that, or only change it to a brassed breach and keep the original look.
With the pvc pipe barrels, you could make a ton of them and use them as magazines, effectively making you one of the fastest manual air pump shotgunners in Nerf
Leave it as it is, respect the men who made it what it is, because it's fuckin awesome. The Panther is a labour of love, leave it be.
That being said, go all out and build something new: air tank on the back, pump mechanisms on the soles of your shoes. Sounds nuts, but it is effortless pumping. Blowoff valve on the tank inlet from the pumps to prevent overpressurizing. Use snap connectors on the hose and blaster, you can literally have a whole set of air powered blasters.
Want a shotgun? Use one that has like 20 darts on the face of it. You can rig the fire patterns however you want. 20 at once? 2x10? 4x5? 5x4? 10x2?
You can rig a PVC air tank to hold insane amounts of pressure. Have fun! 🤣
brass breach, angled grip, its golden, i think the exposed pipes look cool
if it was up to me I would have redone the internals to where they could fit rival rounds because then you can get a whole hell of a lot more rounds in the chamber and with the strength of it it sounds like it would be so awesome
double barreled shotguns are one of the few weapons that will be there even lng after we are gone ! when i served in africa with the french army, even tho i had access to a FA-MAS worth more than my house i still carried a sawed off double barreled in my pistol holster. those things are awesome in real combat and so are they in nerf apparently
Great video Walcom, glad that you got your unicorn. I would recommend mounting it on the wall for occasional usage. If you had the option, I would leave it as is and see about modding another one in a similar fashion.
I would suggest the farthest you go is maybe make a hotswappable breach to the first ones. because that doesn't have a chance of breaking it. its far too valuable, from a bygone era to risk breaking it.
The tubing is awesome! Gives it a mad scientist feel which is very on brand for this blaster. Keep 'em. Besides that I think a new breach and pump is all it needs.
Don’t touch it! Make a better separate version! You can do it, Walcom!!! Extended brass, auto-pump with an index finger button, connect the breech with the foregrip, and make it pretty. Hellsender 2.
giving it a rework would be fun I think. but Shooting Luchathor shouldn't even be discussed as a nonoption, he has the best getting shot reactions :D

I don't know how much I would touch it, NoMs work is legendary I personally would feel bad about messing with it, although I could see changing the breeches as those can be swapped without opening it up.
…the original barrel break can dual shot, you just need to hold it down really tight.

You love this blaster, and it deserves to receive the love and care that you are more than willing to provide it. My vote is to open it up, but ultimately - it's up to you. Just ... if you _do_ open it up, make sure you don't get discouraged halfway through, yeah? Leaving a project unfinished ... it's sad. too sad for me to comment more on since I'm quite the sinner as regards that subject ._.

Personally I would keep it as is. I have one of the OG Panty Raiders (or so I've been told) that I could do plenty of updating on. But then it's no longer the original. I would see what I can learn from it and build my own. But that is me.

I think that you should try to replicate it with another barrel break. Then dual shotgun snipers load out. Maybe you would need to make a barrel swappable so you can have an in-line tube mag for it.
I think you should make a brand new one based on the original so you can keep the original in a special place on your wall
If you can comfortably refurbish it, I'd say go for it.
Keep the original and build your own version looking at bobo's for inspiration. I remember when he made that... Soopa cool blaster.
Best nerf shotgun is the roughcut. Its pump action and carries 8 shots. Double barreled shotguns are cool but the size is the same and you get less capacity.
I guess you could replace all the internals with metal parts and then install a tougher spring with brass barrels.
I really hope the barrel break is brought back in elite 2.0 but with better internals and at least screws

I'm not suprised by the range of nerfs barrel break, because traditional double barrel shotguns work best at closer ranges anyway.
IF (and that's a big IF) you can get it apart, I would clone Nerfomania's interior setup. Then put the original back together and build your own.
Make hot swappable breeches for MEGA, Rival, and rockets to increase versatility.
the rocket one would probably have to draw from both tanks and shoot one.... but you know, #allthingsmadular

leave it as a shelf-piece you plink with when you need inspiration, and start fresh with another barrel-break or roughcut? just seeing it has inspired a new shotgun project for me since i've been looking to rebuild one of my butchered roughcuts and air-tanks sounds like the way to go. maybe a Black-Ops 2 Pak-A-Punch theme? i could see you duel-wielding air-tanked roughcuts with inline-mag setups, gold-and-bronze paint sceme? every time I see a video showing a mob I have like five new projects to choose from haha!
Now all we need is a Titan shotgun
