Lukewarm take: I don't like insanely high fps blasters. Anything over 120 isn't safe for hvz and wars, so it's only really good for plinking, and maybe sniping but even that can be unsafe. The blaster is still cool though
Nerf group I play with regularly uses 200 fps cap and nobody has been injured. Yes eyepro and face pro is required, but as long as you have that there's no way a nerf dart is even going to pierce skin. You need a high muzzle exit velocity, since air resistance is going to slow down the dart very fast over long distances. My caliburn is tuned to 200 because it has to hit people from across a soccer field.
Could you theoretically shoot extremely fast if they made a magazine(adapter, converter, whatever it's called) that allows normal and half darts to be shot?
Eventually we are going to get to a point where we just use springs to activate actual rifle primers to fire darts. Or start using shooting gallery loads to launch darts.
My 2 cents for a penny of your thoughts on my viewing of this beast blaster; it's not a simple foam-flinger but a "less than lethal" home-defense/CQB rifle at about half the cost of an AR. Though it is another channel's stick to post the chrono-averages, but the weakest averaged 114 fps (MEGAs usually clock in at 60, I believe), the optimal avg. was firing at 182.5 (+59% in velocity) and the heaviest spring was +18% over that (avg 216 fps & +88% over the lowest setting speed).

Also, and yes I also said this in the stream, but the price isn’t bad at all really. About the same as a high-end Caliburn or Lynx, especially “Arcane” prints
I would LOVE you testing out what this can shoot strait through with the max potential
This is the blaster every Centurion dreams it could be! what we imagined in our heads when we heard it announced but before someone tried to fire the thing...
This is nowhere near "holy crap" level airsoft velocity, but that sounds like it punches like a paintball gun, which is kinda terrifying for a foam dart
I've been waiting to hear about more large-scale 3D printed blasters and man, did this not disappoint
Hear me out... Put Pop-Its on the tips of the Mega Darts for explosive round fun
I want to see Johnny Knoxville get his hands on this thing because I think it would legitimately send Wee-man flying.
The primal urge to add sharps to end of those mega darts
0:36 That's not a Nerf blaster. That's a non lethal self defense weapon. 😳
Yup. If you see this, run for your life cause this could be lethal if someone accidentally shoots someone else in the head.
@@aidengarford3730 in the throat or spine or eye, has serious life like damage, arms and legs are leaving marks, breaking skin? probably if close enough.
That is similar to my comment, & not non-lethal but "less than lethal" referring that it can kill, but you have to be trying to do so (as per the other 2 commenters as well).
Add a single tac at the end of the dart and it’s 100% lethal
My Friend has one of them! And he built a shell that is the same size as a mega dart, but fits a half dart in there! And when I went over to his house to play around with our modded blasters We shot the half dart out of it. It hit near 476 FPS if I remember correctly.
I'll get that as some anti-drone rifle, I'm just tired of the other team getting their nerf remote control tanks in our territory. Sucks for them!
Oh, I almost forgot. This thing, combowith a Stampede MKII Is just a killer. On Range, everyone gets mega, drones are also a waste of money, and close up we'll just storm them with the Stampede MKII.....
bro gonna blow a hole through the terrascouts
You may have trouble hitting a drone with a bolt action rifle over something automatic, especially if you're dealing with an experienced drone user, unless you're dead shot accurate every time.
@@Demonanimator oh, I have skills with real steel sniper rifles to hit moving targets from 500m away (about 1500 ft or smth). And I shot down other kindd of more maneuverable or even flying drones with a nerf gun, this should make things easier though because the projectile is much heavier.
“Give that walrus a cannon, walrus loves cannons” nice kid friendly Hellsing Abridged reference 👍🏻
What if the person who made that sniper rifle designed it for mega XL darts with an even stronger spring…
Nerf Anti-tank rifle.

I see big sniper rifle, I enjoy. That being said, I'd only use it at a distance with waivers or for a deceptively friendly looking way to make unwanted visitors leave.
This is absolute madness and I love it. Now I wait for the illogical conclusion of a Mega XL sniper like this.
And here naive me thought that blasters that punched through cardboard were scary. Punching through a loose hanging fabric sheet is something else.
Dialled down to 130fps, the perfect blaster for End War.
Haven’t been around for awhile so congrats on the sponsor. 🐾
imagine actual mega darts that whirl loud, and i mean loud. i want to shell shock 5 year olds.
When the DM allows the rogue to bring in his firearm homebrew.
I imagine if this shot Short Darts it would be classified as a firearm
Bro’s bouta put Linden B Johnson into office 💀
...I don't know what's scarier for me...the power this thing has...or the price....
Why not both
@@jotarokujo4475 Yeah, let's go with that..you could buy a real steel weapon for the max price of this thing..and getting hit by it in a NERF war? Yikes..it's just a step down from a BB gun battle at that point.
It'll leave a mega sized hole in your wallet
You could theoretically also run the k25 with the k15, so, ya there is that
@@pootis6263 Amen on that..I've never ordered from Etsy so I don't know if they do shipping on top of taxes but with the best options this thing has it'll put a $525 buck hole in your wallet before taxes and shipping if that isn't included in the price already.
“Mapple Waffle: sssLLLAAAAPPSSSS!!!”
it sold me
what if somebody made this blaster but with mega XL... oh dear God, it would truly be an anti-tank rifle
oooooooooooooof
I think this would be interesting for anti-armor weaponry, if a game allowed some kind of armored vehicles/shields/bases that could be shot through with this.
Lukewarm take: I don't like insanely high fps blasters. Anything over 120 isn't safe for hvz and wars, so it's only really good for plinking, and maybe sniping but even that can be unsafe. The blaster is still cool though
Sniper=god
You seemed to have missed the point where you can easily tune it up or down depending on what you want.
@@WalcomS7 I realised that a few moments after making the comment and hoped no one would notice.
I'd love to see this re chambered for half length darts
they have the accufakes on aliexpress but i dont know if the listing is legit
Love your Hellsing Abriged reference! “Get that walrus a cannon! Walruses love cannons!”
Home defence nerf gun? Sounds like a good way to get shot mate
@@pigmentpeddler5811 It all matters with the situation and awareness of - as one (usually) doesn't bring a knife to a gun fight.
By Statistics in a worst-case scenario of a home invasion (of burglaries 15ft/>3m ranges, consistent inside most homes) if target is unarmored, the dart (with the presented here Max setting) is hitting with the same force as one would get hit with a .385cal/7mm handgun round through a ballistic vest. Likelihood of fatality is reduced, but not eliminated.
@@GGrey1975 that's a bunch of statistics and reasoning and I am not going to read it
@@pigmentpeddler5811 That is your choice on the retort I had of your opinion - TD;LR On the surface you view seems valid, until scrutinized by actual facts on the subject.
Also, if you thought that my reply that you're electing not to read had to much data - I'll inform you it is the edited down version.
TD;LR on the blaster at Max settings; head shot could cause concussion/KO & painful/severe bruising other locations if hit. So, brining one is a good way to SHOOT the other person (a majority of invaders flee when then feel they no longer have the advantage, being injured at a distance is demoralizing & often accomplishes that.).
@@GGrey1975 I did actually read and take the information on board, was interesting and I wasn't aware how effective these things could potentially be, just wanted to be obtuse on the internet ;)
So I did the force calculations, we're looking at about 5 joules of muzzle energy here. For reference most outdoor airsoft arenas set a maximum of 2.5 joules of muzzle energy.
Dear god
I want a breach-load anti-material rifle that shoots Mega XL darts like this
That's how u loose a finger
3:35 you have my eternal respect for the Hellsing ultimate abridged reference
Ah yes, been waiting for a "pro" nerf mega blaster. and this one makes sense because snipers use higher caliber ammo 👌😂
3:37 to quote Captain America. “I understood that one”
Getting some serious Fallout New Vegas anti-material rifle vibes from this one
2:25 bro, you're so lucky. must be fun to be able to buy your own stuff
How does it compare to the megaburn? Also a destruction test would be awesome.
That's an excellent question, but I think this is hitting hotter than most Megaburns. I honestly don't have one...
This could be made bigger for Mega XL with magazine.
To resume every detailed explanation in the comments for this, it will hurt cuz...You can tell by the video, but it won't kill you and it might not hurt as much as it looks because mega
If you go center mass (as one should) you're good to go with this, not like you need to use the big mean spring anyways
What does "because MEGA" mean?
In literature that is called the “hook”. 50 seconds in and hooked.
That sniper be hitten harder than that intro
"professionals have standards" -sniper tf2
Now I wanna see it fire short darts to see how hard those would go.
150 meters/second
Probably hard enough to go through a wall
"Get that walrus a cannon! Walrus love cannons." seems awfully similar to a certain abridged series by TFS
You could legitimately use this thing as a pest control device.
Yes. I have killed a mouse with a stock Atlas. I’d rather use that so I wouldn’t have to clean up lmao
