i'm new to growing and cutting gems and I found that your video was so simple and method easy to follow. My first stone wasn't quite perfect, but my wife did tear up when i made a pendant necklace for her with blue moissanite
Wow. I can see why it's considered a great alternative to diamond. The prism effect is brilliant. Even with the imperfections, you cut a very beautiful stone. Can't wait to see what comes next. :D
Thanks Tempus. The high grade Mossanite is a good substitute for Diamond. Even the lower quality can match the low quality diamonds at a fraction of the cost. I've often seen low clarity diamonds with inclusions a similar size cost several thousands. Cheers Cliff
@@VintageTimeGems To be honest, Cliff, I've seen you get similar, stunning results from quartz. LOL What you can do with light refraction is a joy to watch. I still can't get the fire of that topaz out of my head. Simply beautiful.
Cliff after your handwork, I could barely see the inclusions like before. You truly have a magical touch with gems. Moissanite is very beautiful and you clearly brought out the beauty in this piece. Too bad it wasn't natural as I would've liked to see that faceted but like you said it's so rare it's always mostly lab created now.
@@cdeichhorn No, I was trying to find a US supplier but had no luck. Alibaba, has plenty of suppliers from China, but often 50 carats is the minimum order and that will cost a fair bit.
Nice video. The color of the finished gem is dazzling in my opinion. I also kind of like the inclusions in the gemstone, its something different. Thanks for sharing.
Wow this is Stunning now it’s cut..I think the beautiful cut you did on it has made the light bounce through it beautifully giving sparkling prisms of colourful rainbows..I think it’s a shame there was inclusions.. but I think it’s best to practice..You need not worry your stones are gorgeous ..
I find it funny how moissanite has more refraction & dispersion and is way, way rarer in the wild, but since it is lab grown, and diamonds have such strong marketing, it isn't considered on par. In reality, it is technically better (though not subjectively so, necessarily) and much less common. I have seen some beautiful DEF ones and also very pretty fancy colors, and I think it's such a versatile and cool gemstone.
Have not seen the for years, it is a great cut. Is there any way to get this pattern. It is the same cut on my Grandfathers ruby ring that I lost years age. The reason I know this is the point, I had the shank replaced and to jeweler did not reattach right. It would poke a small hole in my finger. Set back for him to fix and he broke the stone. It was replaced with a generic emerald cut. Just starting out cutting Gems and would like to recreate it. Even a name of designer would help. Thanks
@@VintageTimeGems Thank you finally have a pattern. Now just have to try a few dozen times to get it right. Hopefully not that many but sometime feels that way. Thanks again and for the videos.
Jovert Lim what you mean with “real” ones? Moissanite IS a real gemstone. And it also has hardness of 9.25 on the mohs scale... which is more than all the others gemstones, it’s second only to diamond for hardness. So yes, moissanite will last forever.
You really wound up getting some nice color out of it, maybe the fact that it was an obviously lower quality of Moissanite lent itself to some originality?
What a beautiful result. All minerals are beautiful in their own way, and it's always satisfying to see one get polished up to really highlight that.
Thank you Robert.

Another Brilliant job Cliff...Thank you for sharing. I love watching your channel.
Thanks Eric...
Even with the inclusions and imperfections it still looks amazing to me. I guess that's a testament yo your skill!

Moissanite is esentially diamond, with half of the carbon replaced with silicon
You are a very good teacher of your craft. Thanks for sharing.
You did a SPACTACULAR job... it's beautiful.... I don't even see any windowing!!!
Thanks Jim.
It’s very pretty , you did a great job!
Gorgeous work sir.
Thank you for explaining the steps. Great video as always!
Thanks William.

Thanks Imari. I believe the natural mossanite is very tiny. It would be worth a fortune if faceted. Cheers
I’ve cut a lot of different material but never moissanite . It turned out nice.
Thanks...It's worth trying out Chuck. Mossanite can get very expensive.
Vintage Time do you know if there is the a good source in the US for rough?

@@cdeichhorn I have a lot moissanite for sale
I am a big fan of moissante it looks amasing as jewlry when set........... and now the price is right as well
We love watching your videos been learning a lot on how to cut. A big thanks from us in the UK.
Amazing information. Thank you for sharing.

Thanks Scott, the members at my gem club also liked the colour. The inclusions are barely noticeable as the gem sparkles so much.
Liked and subscribed. Love your videos, very informative and seeing your highly skilled lapidary technique. Cheers!
Still a beautiful stone. Great job.
Thanks Lynn.

Thanks Christine. Moissanite is expensive, this piece was good practice. I would like to facet more of it in the future.
Wow great job,I can see why you want to cut more of it.
great video... a bit late to the party here, but I wonder if Moissanite could be used as a "poor man;s" single point diamond cutter? Any thoughts
Do the inclusions actually help with the reflective colors in the stone ? Enjoyed !
Not really, they are difficult to see under no magnification. Inclusions at time just add complications during the cutting process. Regards Cliff
Gorgeous
Wow amazing ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Emerald is one of my favorite cuts along with baguette! Could you do a video of cutting baguette please?
I've made a few video already on the baguette. Cheers
Gorgeous cut despite the inclusions. Looking forward to you cutting a better quality, clearer moissanite.
Pats to Jaws!
Thanks Jo Ann. Some inclusion free Mossanite would be my preference.
Hello Sr. What do you use to polish the moissanite what grit of diamond and what type of lap ... I thank you in advance for the information

I chose Moissanite for my replacement wedding ring (I lost mine😢) because of the cruelty free aspect. It really does sparkle like crazy!!😊
Very informative :)

Nancy Attaway is the designer of this gem. You should be able to get the design off the net. I did.

how much price for unpolished moissanite?
if I bought a block of raw moissanite, do you let dubs send it to you to facet?
Moro no Brazil, tenho garimpo de moisanite limpas e lindas não há onclusões .
Tenho interesse em fazer negócios.
There is no such thing as "moissanite mines".
@@curlyhairdudeify Sorry I made a mistake, what I have is phenakite mine
well even with inclusions the work that you make, increases the value.
Thanks Israel.
Super
💐💐💐
How long did this process take?
I usually take a week off and on to facet a gem. Probably 15-20 hours work all up.
Good jod
Thank you ...
Does moissanite lasts like the real ones?
