Holy cow! That was so satisfying to watch. I am a jeweler and getting ready to dive into faceting all this quartz in a bucket for the first time. Thank you for posting this!
Technically Feldspar would probably outnumber quartz. But that doesn't really change anything, both Feldspar (especially potassium) and quartz are beautiful
Awesome job on the video, great explanation without annoying voices, love the way you use the camera and close ups for explanations! The only thing you didn't do was explain the equipment you used to beginners, but A+ job!
For some reason this is more beautiful and spectacular than a diamond. Something so simple is so beautiful in side. Magnificent crystal , touching video.
it is very good indeed!! not only when you're starting, but also when you want to perform some new cuts or when you still have trouble with micro scratches. If you master the basics, you master the advanced!!
watching this you have really changed your cutting style i watched some of your more recent ones where you cut and polish facets before moving on to the next step seems to me to be the way to go. Lovely stone you ended up with.
You are correct, I am adapting my style. There are different methods to faceting. Cutting and polishing in sequence is more accurate in my opinion, but more time consuming. Cheers
@@VintageTimeGems thank you my friend, Time spent Faceting is never wastedi find less 'cheating' is needed when you cut - polish then move on to the next cut. you are a real inspiration Thank you for all the great videos
+Ian Jennings Stick with it Ian. Messing up is all part of the learning process. I remember that the first couple of months I didn't have clue what was going on (especially with polishing). Joining a gem club and having a experienced faceter teaching you is well worth it. Cheers
I’m teaching myself. Also been needing to build most of my faceting machine. Luckily I’m a machinist and it comes naturally. Thank you for the kind words!
Please forgive a fellow cutter for making an observation. I think some corner facets may have added a bit more sparkle. Of course I probably would have done the same if I had been cutting that stone. It's easier to suggest when you have nothing to loose. Very nice job. Every facet met at the proper point. The polish is perfect. I always found quartz one of the most difficult to polish.
Imagine doing this with a tiniest diamond. How on earth can they cut all the sides in something as small as a grain? It was so educational to watch and it turned out beautiful!
your skills are amazing! (you make it look easy) its not anything like i imagined the process to be. is this how all crystals are cut? thank you for keeping this vid up until i finally found it. i much appreciate seeing how you do this. perfect!
He definetely takes it to that artistic level. Has patience. Nature made it, man perfected it. Wondering what a " Blaze " cut would look like on a quartz? Let me know if you ever do. But with your skills more than likely another work of art a masterpiece gem :)
Well done mate ...im a new Sub...of yours and planning to learn how 2 ....from Canada best wishes for 2020 and hope to watch more of your amazing work...Thank you
I am very new to making cabochons and faceting. Is that an optimal cut for use with quartz? It's a cushion cut, yes? You do beautiful work, but it looks like a lot of light is escaping the stone. I'm just curious if a different cut that has facets of optimal angles, designed for quartz, would result in a finished stone with more brilliance. Thank you!
Holy cow! That was so satisfying to watch. I am a jeweler and getting ready to dive into faceting all this quartz in a bucket for the first time. Thank you for posting this!
So that's how it's done
What's the name of all the equipment you used?
Wonderful ❤
The guy I had cutting my stones would never let me watch. Thanks. Far as I can see, that was a perfect job.
Ooh, shiny
The tumbled stone looks like a delicious piece of ice.
Yep!

Astonishingly detailed. I have wondered how this was done my whole life. Thank you!!
its called a crystal, they are made naturally not by people who cut them
@@-hw- You don’t say.
Same here! @Excelsion
I am very impressed by your talent, dexterity and patience
JeanMarck .Lefebvre Thank you.
To think that the most abundant mineral on earth could look so beautiful, is completely amazing well done it looks incredible
Technically Feldspar would probably outnumber quartz. But that doesn't really change anything, both Feldspar (especially potassium) and quartz are beautiful
Well, I've no idea how I got here, but that was amazing to watch! What a skill!
Thank you. Yeah it takes some time to learn this art form. I will be making future vids watch this space. Cheers.
Plentisaki ditto, you just kinda end up here one day, and have zero regrets about it.
Same here 😅
I love stumbling on random shit on youtube
This months random hahaha, so skillful loved it
OH!..... I've never seen quartz crystal cut that way.
Just beautiful !!
Thank you. Quartz comes out almost like a diamond finish if cut and polished correctly....
Never thought quartz could look like diamonds, brilliant work 👍👌
I love the clarity of quartz

Fantastic job!

This is very very interesting, I'm glad I ran across this channel, Thank you for sharing! Looking forward to seeing more what you've got.
Extremely nice job! I would wear that in a wedding ring in leu of a diamond!
just a person Diamonds are overrated!
For some reason this is more beautiful and spectacular than a diamond. Something so simple is so beautiful in side. Magnificent crystal , touching video.
Nah diamonds have rainbow luster and sparkle more
Yeah if he did a diamond this size it would be other-worldly
But simple is appealing as well
@@TheUrantiaBook it would certainly look more impressive but other-worldly nah, a zircon or cubic zirconia has almost the same sparkle as a diamond
How wonderful! So much time and effort put in by you to make such a beautiful stone! I love gemstones! 😊
Quartz seems like a good stone to practice on when you're just starting out
it is very good indeed!! not only when you're starting, but also when you want to perform some new cuts or when you still have trouble with micro scratches. If you master the basics, you master the advanced!!
Wow, awesome sir, no wonder royals and rich crave for gemstones

Beautiful. Perfect music. I would have loved to see the setting you chose.
It was almost a perfect teaching video. It needed the type of glue he used & each grit used on each step.

This particular design had no corner facets. I agree, corner facets look better and are a better option to have set.

I believe the diamonds of that size are cut by machine, while the bigger ones are by hand 👌
every stone has a life of its own .... as a stone setter i can see some wonderful settings in store for this :) ... even if it is quartz :))

Not sure what lap you use to polish, you should try a Darkside with Cerium Oxide.
