What a very competitive program even compared to today's standards (2024). Triple lutz-triple toe, triple toe-half loop-triple sal. Level 4 spins and spirals. Sasha totally revolutionised the sport. My only critique is I don't like the fabric of her dress here, but the design is nice.
This was an awesome performance, and that triple-half-loop-triple combo was great! In my opinion, Sasha doens't need a bunch of triples like the other ladies because all the rest of her required elements are soo strong. At max, I don't think she should be doing more than 5 triples, plus her D axel. And I love this footwork sequence. I think it fits perfectly with the program. Dick, what are you talking about?
Ok... Tarasova improved every part of Sasha's skating except that 3-flip... I think she was trying to make sure she had the correct edge going in but it doesn't quite work... otherwise... I WISH Sasha could have skated like this ALL the time!!
More likely. But with one exception. Julia Lipnitskaia from Russia. She's really good too! She is so unlike the boring skaters you made reference to. :-)
Wow, how have I not seen this performance before? One of the best I've seen from her. But how many different dresses did she have for this program? I don't think she ever had the same dress for an entire season. lol Maybe she should have focused less on the costumes....

There wasn't a short program. Just the free skates. And her skate was the best that day, which is why she won this event.

i think that is the best program she ever skated...that's the only time i've seen her do a triple toe/triple sal.
