Her layback is just so perfect. No one can top her layback spins or her spirals. This program is so beautiful!!!

She should have won this event.

Um she's talking about skating not ballet...Unless somebody could bring those "ballet artistry" on ice like Sasha, then Sasha is still the most ballet and artistic oriented on ICE...and if you watch early videos of Sasha skating she already has artistic lines and moves even before John Nicks became her coach...all that developed moves and artistry mostly came from her own will to develop them, talent and skills

The great thing about her skating is that most of her moves just blends with the music. Like her skating is meant for that particular music she's using. That's why she's so entertaining to watch no matter how flawed the performance will be.

I love this beautiful layback spin and how it goes with the music...she's the best skater EVER...I don't care if the competitive aspects betray her or if she falls and crosses all the way through the ice with her face on it...her moves are as polished as they can be, no japanese girl could even dream of skating as she does.

She never should have left Tarasova... Although, tatiana looked like she as going to eat her in the kiss & Cry. lol.

Cup of Russia was so bad with politcs. This was Sasha's best performance in the GP that season, and she lost to Viktoria Volchkova (from Russia). Like seriously, there's no comparison between the two.

This competition was complete BS. Volchkova was a decent skater but there's no way on this planet she should have beaten Sahsa here, and if it were anywhere other than Russia she wouldn't have!

@YaelBerman Sadly she did not. But she fought like a champion out there and was still named an Olympic alternate. She also won the pewter medal so now she has the whole set. :)

Well little shaky on double axel but that's nitpicking. Thanks! Such a rarity for Cohen to do a clean LP, if she would do a triple triple, then she could very well win the olympics, if she skates cleanly!!!

@cooldude8412 I agree. Well she won the GPF in Russia so that was a bittersweet victory. :)

I know this is an old post. But if you've ever watched an international ballet competition, you'd know that a Japanese girl is entirely capable of meeting this standard of artistry. And if she had a coach like Mr. John Nicks who focuses on the skater's lines and finish in their moves, it would be a surprise if she didn't come up to this standard. Sasha has magnificent lines, but she won't be the last to show them.
