I doubt if Sasha reads these comments, but in the unlikely event she is reading... Sasha, I'm a lot older than you, not an Olympian, but I also trained and competed in my youth. Because of you, I started skating again as an adult. For the past few years, I've fallen away from skating too (lost a job, had to care for my father who had Cancer), but I always intend I'll go back, not to be anything great, but just because it's awesome. Your skating was an inspiration to so many, probably even the latest greats of this Olympics, neither of whom are from this country. Certainly you were an inspiration to me, even with this great age difference. You're the name-sake of my parrot too, but that's not my point. (She loves her name, btw.) My point is, enjoy the restaurants and plays and things you are doing in New York, but remember anyone can do that; anyone can go to a play, a restaurant. You have a gift, a once in a lifetime gift. If you don't want to skate anymore, I can understand that. But don't be "regular" like everyone else. I can tell you I've been to a thousand nice restaurants, and now all I can think about is doing something that makes a difference. Nice restaurants, trendy plays? Been there, don'e that, and it doesn't compare to the feeling of adrenaline of which you speak. And skating? Gymnastics? Ballet? All of those things; I have a vision that it doesn't have to truly end. Who cares if we get older? I remember a performance of yours for Breast Cancer, I think it was, where you did no jumps at all, just moves in the field, spins, and your one-of-a-kind spirals, and it was one of the best skates I'v ever seen. I believe you'll have that grace and skill until your 80, forget 80, 90, the age of my Cancer-survivor father. Please skate, even if it's only for yourself. Please don't lose that. And please don't lose yourself in the world of corporate America, in the world of people with college degrees who could only dream of doing what you've done, who got those degrees only because that is the next logical step in that type of person's life. I can't tell you what to do with your life for the next 20 years (as you mention), and I won't, but "normal life" isn't all it's cracked up to be. Go be you. Go be what you are. Go be extraordinary. Find a path that lets you do that. I'm rooting for you, Sasha!

for my money, to this day, Sasha's talents on the ice remain unmatched . When she was on she was unbeatable. The perfect combination of technical skill with supreme artistry. Her positions, line, stretch, posture, and of course, her spiral sequence are still the gold standard in ladies figure skating. It's regrettable that her 2006 Olympics LP was flawed but the judges still recognized how she rallied back which, coupled with her amazing SP warranted a silver medal. Its great to see her years later, embracing a new and exciting chapter in her life. She is poised, articulate and serves as an inspiration to young girls and women alike.

  • @beecnul8r

One of the, if not THE, best figure skater of all time. Her gymnastics really shows thru on her skates. Only flaw was a short attention span that let her mind wander during routines. Beautiful outfits (really loved the deep blue) extra nice routines, short and long, and a winning smile and personality. Having taken off 4 years really caused so many issues. Had she perhaps taken off one year she might have scored a Gold in more than one events. At least one was a perfect routine and skate yet the judges, for some reason, put her in 2nd.
Sasha is the ONLY skater of all time that put both boots ABOVE the line on her splits. Awesome, and very athletic.
Hmm. Sasha, I will NEVER forget you and the wonderful skating you blessed us with.

Amazing example of how to be versatile in life. I find the advantage of not planning and being more in the moment and following the flow of your energy allows your motivation to get deeper and more engaged so it tends to carry you further once you get that thing that clicks in with your authentic self.

Lauren Thompson mainly things between 2014 and 2016. It was the focal point of many connections clashing. I went to the skating thing to actually tell Trump of his life to be. I also wanted to tell her of her own life but didn't have the chance. But I'm glad I didn't because it happened the same.
