Philadelphia is right next to it, and whenever I go to the sixers games I see ads for it. I don’t know why cedar fair doesn’t care much about the park. I would like to see more reasons why they don’t, and how they can turn around the park.
@@why533 well they have a lot of parks such as valley fair cedar fair cedar point and much more this is one of the smaller parks but in the future i do imagine that they add like 2-3 roller coasters
The acquisition of the Paramount Parks really did screw over the mid-sized Cedar Fair parks. I mean just look at Worlds of Fun, Valleyfair, and Dorney Park in the years leading up to or right after. Between 1996 and 2007, Valleyfair opened four brand-new coasters. Between 1998 and 2009, Worlds of Fun added FIVE new coasters. Between 1997 and 2008, Dorney Park added six new coasters, thought one of them was used. It is, however, important to note that two of those coasters were B&M coasters. Those three parks have not seen a brand-new coaster since the late 2000's, and now we are into the second year of the 2020's.

Thanks for your review and honest thoughts on Dorney, I was a ride op for the first 3 years of Talon and still in love with it. But the park needs some love and a new coaster to be the face of the park. It is in dire need of it. My kids enjoy Dorney since it is our home park, but need some love badly.
That slow down on that one airtime hill scared me on Thunderhawk I forgot that existed on the coaster. I went in 2020 since 2014 so it’s been a long time
Cedar Fair purchased Dorney in 1992 and was on a winning streak of expansion until 2008. Yes, Possessed came in 2008 but it started the whole "hand-me-down" trend with Dorney and focusing more expansions with the Waterpark instead.
I grew up going to this park and I gotta agree, it is lacking a few roller coasters, if they invest some more into the park I’d definitely wanna go more often . After years of going it’s just not as fun
As my home park, I really enjoy Dorney. It was nice watching your video on your thoughts of the park. I agree we need a big ticket attraction and a new roller coaster will help a lot! I think Cedar Fair knows that our park is just not set up to be extremely busy. Things usually run efficiently, but there can be issues on the busiest of days.
I think cedar fair hasn't added anything because the I've heard that the town is pretty strict about coasters and it has a height limit. They also don't have a lot of land. I think that they should do what elitch gardens did and move to a different location. Currently, Dorney is further from Philadelphia and NYC than great adventure, and Hersheypark is also close to philadelphia and is about 3 and a half hours from NYC. I don't know if those first two thing are true, but there's a reason why they haven't gotten anything. I don't see them getting a raptor or an S&S freespin since great adventure already has those, and I don't see them getting a real hyper since great adventure has nitro and hershey has candymonium, and I think steel force does well enough with the GP. I think a ground up rmc ibox coaster or a mack extreme spinner could work well here, I think those would definitely get more press attention than a wooden coaster, but they're more expensive.
The main thing with Dorney is that it’s so much bigger the EG and has been a historic landmark in the Lehigh valley for over 120 years so I doubt they would also the Lehigh valley itself is over double the size of Pittsburgh in population
IMHO a RMC Raptor where Stinger used to be with a GCI or Gravity Group small woody where Dinosaurs alive used to be would make DP relevant again. Dorney has very strict building codes with height so they need to be creative. As someone who has been going to the park since 1978, and was there when the Flying Dutchman was the largest Zyklon in North America, and when Hercules was announced it was to be the fastest woody with the longest drop in the world. They used to be a trend setting coaster park.

Steel force needs new trains it’s ruff and old they need to smooth that coasters out. I get it’s a smaller park but we need some new coasters. Most people who come to the park go to the water park and the park gives the water park new rides and leaves the dry side with all hand me downs . I hope the new coaster is coming to the park it really needs it and would give some new love to the dry side.
dorney should add 2 coasters add stuff to the water side add some improvements like seating new trains and yeah they should also do more planet snoopy things like a small roller coaster and this park would be set cedar point hasnt gave a coaster to this park since 2012 so it is in dire need of some but besides that this park is really good this is also my home park
batman the ride is my favorite invert just cuz of how compact it is, which makes the pacing, intensity and whip just insane and u just constantly get flung around everywhere and the ride is just such an endurance test, and talon seems to be a very similar ride in that it shares lots of great elements with the batman clones and the style of B&M invert it is is similar so i think it would be one of my favorite B&M inverts personally

@K Fox Coasters i agree i like batman more, great bear is just weird which makes it kinda cool, but great bear also has probably the whippiest corkscrew on any coaster and all of the other elements on great bear just seem to be above average, talon i havent ridden so i cant speak for that, but even though great bear is an upper tier invert for me and talon probably would be, batman clones are just so intense that it puts every other invert ive ridden to shame, when u get off batman the ride ur vision is blurry and u feel like jello cuz its such an intense ride
