In the mid-1990's Cedar Fair hired D.H. Morgan to install three massive roller coasters at each of their three parks not named Cedar Point - Wild Thing at Valleyfair in 1996, Steel Force at Dorney Park in 1997 and Mamba at Worlds of Fun in 1998. While these rides are great in size and spectacle, they are very good roller coasters. In today's video, find out why the Morgan hypercoasters suck.

I rode Steel Force a few years ago and really liked it actually. I can’t speak for any others, but I think Steel Force is underrated honestly.
I agree! I had a really good day I think on Steel Force because no brakes hit, it was warm as hell out, and it turned everything into ejector. Even the turnaround helix was forceful. I got tons of room on the lap bar and marathoned it. Really affected how I felt about it.
Steel force slaps! This video is nonsense.
When I rode steel force with my young and skinny son I had to hold on to him since he seemed to be at risk of being ejected from the car. So it is my impression that Steel Force has plenty of airtime.
yep. This review, while I respect anyone's opinion, seems like it's trying too hard. I had zero expectations going in and found myself surprised with how fun it was for everyone. 5 rides later the feeling was the same. Oh well. To each their own eh? 🤷🏼♂️
I agree, steel force is a magnificent ride!
"i really dont like magnum".... okay im out.
Magnum Doesn't really hold up either, don't get me wrong I LOVE the ride, Grew up with it and love the views, trains, experience. But I can see why younger people might now
beause magnum actually does suck
@@NickyD Which is why its the only older coaster in the park that still gets long lines on the busy days.
hey magnum is not bad
Tbh idc if people don't like Magnum, that's they opinion. Some people like it some people don't, and that's that :) For me, I love Arrow coasters, and Magnum is a bucket list Arrow coaster I'd want to ride.
Wild Things first airtime hill has some amazing airtime. Morgan hypers are just fun, they don’t have to be intense to be a good ride. I do agree on the harsh trim brakes ruining the second half, but you have to understand that these trio of coasters are inconsistent with their airtime. If you ride them later in the season there’s a chance of getting some airtime.
Yeah wild thing is an alright coaster... only wish the brakes would lessen up a tad on the final bunny hop run. I remember 1996 when it opened
Yeah wild thing is the best coaster steel force and mamba kinda sucks
FYI, the "Morgan" part of Phantom's Revenge was designed by Allan Shilke and was originally supposed to be built by Arrow, for almost no charge because Arrow delivered a faulty product in 1991 as the inversions had developed stress fractures that something had to be done about. Then they ran into their financial problems with X2 so Morgan was hired to produce the track, being that their track is compatible with Arrow track (and in a technical sence matches the track in the design which resembles the track found on Tennessee Tornado better than Vekoma's mimic of old Arrow track could). So Morgan technically could design a ride that good but that's not what their designers did.
Wouldn’t it be great if every ride with bad restraints got B&M trains? Imagine Skyrush with clamshells.
That sounds literally insane but I'm not sure if the restraints would rip yo body apart with how intense skyrush is, the thigh crushers are meant to prevent you from lifting out of your seat at all, but still it would be amazing
@@dhubxudxdgvshdvsd6845 I said every ride with *bad* restraints
I think they would benefit more from new-generation Intamin restraints, the ones that you find on rides such as Taron etc…
@@CoasterEverythingwell your in luck because, skyrush has gotten the restraints you see on pantheon, toutatis, velocicoaster and more, so no more thighcrush
You told me not to do this but I have to. Steel Eel is amazing.
I'll let you know what I think next year.
I concur. The air time on Steel Eel is amazing
It’s my favorite in SA...even with Iron Rattler and Wonder Woman. I know that isn’t a popular opinion.
Any. Lol. Some people just don’t like it. I’m a back row rider. But always enjoy any seat. The brake run entry is always.....sudden.
@TrainCrazyPlayz In my opinion, it's the front row on any Morgan. The airtime is a bit painful in the back especially on the last few bunny hills.
I totally agreed with your review of Mamba at the time you wrote it.
I'm a Prowler guy as well. I will marathon and nothing beats a night ride when it is going bonkers.
Mamba used to bore me. In 2022, they upgraded the system and eased way off the trim brakes. It's a completely different experience because it now rides like it did when it first opened.
I get floater airtime on the camel back; coming out of my seat from the moment it crests until bracing myself when the train lands back on the track at the bottom of the hill. I'm 245lbs and feel light as air.
You get airtime going into the midcourse brake run, coming out of it, floater airtime on the bunny hills, and ejector the last hop before you haul butt into the final brake run. That final stretch is now a lot of fun.
I like the seats. I ride row 3 when I can. I'm 6'6 and have never had a problem fitting. I actually love the fact that there is just a loose seat belt and a lap bar that doesn't staple me keeping me inside the train. My butt is constantly out of that seat.
I've been to multiple parks: Cedar Fair, Kings Island, Islands of Adventure, Universal Studios, Adventureland, Six Flags St Louis, Silver Dollar City, Kentucky Kingdom, Holiday World. Certainly not as many as you have, but I've been to enough of the major players to have an idea of what's out there.
I probably have a different take than most. Each time I return, I love and appreciate Worlds of Fun that much more. No, they don't have the best of everything. They don't have an elite coaster. But in a market that doesn't warrant it, I have some great rollercoasters in my backyard with many memories that I can visit multiple times in a season.
Anywho...I just recently stumbled upon your blog and appreciate your videos. So, thought I would contribute a comment to your algorithm.
It’s like if Morgan asked Arrow if they could copy their homework, but change it up a little bit so the teacher wouldn’t know. Somehow they got a worse grade than arrow...
LMAO 😂
Then for some reason they went sicko mode on Phantom’s Revenge. How does that make sense??
@@coasterkeychain6852 That’s Kennywood for you😂
@@ParkPros I’m Morgan and a boy
More like somehow it was a way better grade than arrow because magnum is TERRIBLE!
I wish Cedar Point would contract with Morgan to adapt the altered-Arrow trains from Phantom's Revenge for Magnum. I have to imagine it being possible, as Phantom's Revenge just uses Arrow looper chassis with new bodies and seat configurations.
That would be amazing. Phantom's Revenge's trains are so good.
Ha you don’t like Magnum, so of course you don’t like these. Saying Morgan sucks while complimenting Phantom’s Revenge is called contradicting yourself. Also, it’s not the rides you don’t like, it’s the park’s choice of a super slow mid-course brake run. They weren’t always this slow.
I know you said not to bring up Steel Eel, but it’s so great that I had to. The airtime on that thing is INSANE! I think the weird double camelback at the beginning is an upgrade over the standard hills on the others. Also the mid course break run is really high and early on, so you pick up a ton of momentum before the final stretch of airtime hills!
You need to get a trimless ride on Mamba. I did on my last trip and it slapped more than my ride on Magnum, the supposed "king of ejector."
How do you get a trimless ride
@@aussiecoasterenthusiast7561 Get lucky?
Idk, I just know I got some really good floater on those last hills when I went.
I can’t say I agree, as you are literally saying you prefer floater over ejector. But I’m fine with it.
@@charliegriswold1445 Notice the supposed before I gave its title. I didn't even get floater on Magnum. At least it wasn't rough though. I would have to be stupid to prefer floater to ejector.
Now, all that being said, I will be giving Magnum another try next year. Going for the magic seat should raise it in my ranks.
Mine trains on steroids as they say
Basically.
This made me laugh too hard
Just one thing: THEY DONT
@eabstergaming - roblox phantoms revenge if you ever get a chance
@eabstergaming - roblox Having ridden most of the Morgans Stateside, I like them from time to time. But Phantom blows away all otheres
I agree with you based on my steel force rides. Youll enjoy steel eel tho, the airtime in the first half of the ride is nuts
How is a comment from Airtime Thrills not the top comment??
how did you not get airtime on steel force?????? its powerfull floajecter with about 5 inches of airtine room
When I rode Steel Force last year, I thought it was a great ride. I will agree the big camelback is pointless because I only got weak floater. But the mid course didn’t hit that hard and I actually got good airtime on the final hills. But hey, we’re all allowed to have our own opinions and I respect yours.
When did you ride? I sat in the front and back and got at least strong floater in both positions, backroad gave great floater on the downward part and the front row gave floater the entire ride over
With Valleyfair as my home park, ill ride Wild Thing once, for the view. I find North Star, their starflyer, much more fun to ride and of course Renegade is my favorite!
When did you visit Valleyfair?
How to fix morgan hypres:
1. Make lifthills a bit steeper and therefore taller.
2. Turn off the Trim Brakes
Make them elite:
3. Give them the same restraint as Phantoms Revenge
Or the alternate option:
1. Demolish them
2. Get Vekoma to build 3 Skydash Models (Vekoma's Hypercoaster that was a competitor for Energylandia)
3. Vekoma's are cheap and Coaster Enthusiasts lofe them, Win Win situation.
The first option was better. Demolishing the Morgan hypers is a huge waste of money. Sure most of them were built in the late 90’s but the Morgan hyper coasters are pretty reliable so there is no reason to demolish them.
Just tone down the trim brakes, replace the restraints with the ones Phantom’s Revenge has, and you’re good. The steeper lift-hills are optional.
The editing on this video is amazing 😂
Morgan has a claim to maybe the second or third best giga in the world to their name though. Steel Dragon 2000 should be on everyone's bucket list.
Ive heard nothing but good things, and Phantom is awesome
Dude steel dragon is probably the worst giga
Shame you don’t really like Morgan’s hyper coasters. I think they’re pretty unique. The trains were the main inspiration for the Hyper Coaster for RollerCoaster Tycoons 2 & 3.
It’s fine if you’re not a big fan of them. I’m sure that one day, Morgan (now part of Chance Rides) can build a great hyper coaster at some point in the future. They just have to wait for the opportunity to do so.
Exactly
T- t- t- TODAY JUNIA!!! Lmfao best part of that movie. I love this editing!!!
I think their are enough good ones to just call them inconsistent instead of bad
Random fun fact: Apparently Wild Thing has the most sustained moment of airtime on a coaster with it able to hit 7 seconds. I mean sure its probably weak floater but its kinda interesting
I don’t think that’s a fact....or accurate
@@scottyjbd Not saying its true, just what ive heard
Back in the day when Mamba didn’t trim to death, those hills were amazing.
I believe you. I wish Cedar Fair could find a happy medium between ride upkeep and airtime with these rides.
Agreed. I remember riding it the year after it opened and loving it. When it ran fast, it really threw you out of your seat. Can't forget about the head choppers in that helix either.
@@ParkPros perhaps one day when you get a chance to ride Superman El Ultimó Escape, would you consider making an apology video to the Morgan Hypers?
I mean I respect your opinion and all, but I think you’ll fall in love with Superman and maybe find it better than the Cedar Fair Morgan Hypers.
Here's how to fix them:
- Hire Chance Rides
- Steepen the first drop and increase lift speed
- Lower the first camelback and turnaround
- Use weak magnetic brakes on MCBR while keeping calipers for E-stop
- Use the same vehicle type as Lightning Run
In fact, give this treatment to aging Arrow coasters like Corkscrew as well.
The drop and camel back on mamba is fine if you ride in the back
Honestly as someone who grew up with wild thing and is 6’2” I do see your point with the b&m upgrade and come to think of it as I gotten older I haven’t really enjoyed wild thing anymore as I used to when I was younger, honestly I think these rides are good for the younger crowd and those who aren’t really into intense coasters. So I do think they have they’re place, but yeah if I am setting aside blind nostalgia for a minute, I really do see your point and now that cedar fair is under new management who has already promised to pay attention to the smaller parks more for the 2021 and beyond seasons. I do hope at the very minimum they do give the old ride a much needed b&m trains and though it won’t happen I would love for intamin to take a crack at redoing these rides. (The guys who did millennium force). I did all three rides in the style of intamin in planet coaster and I think they would be a hell of an improvement and since valleyfair is rumored to get a b&m inverted hyper coaster. Might as well go all out and make them giga coasters. It would definitely give these ride and the parks they are in much needed life. And you can reference the older roller coasters as well by keeping the names and logos of the old rides. Again don’t think it will happen so if I am realistic they probably won’t changed but I would love to at the very least like you said see an upgrade to the trains to b&m ones.
Seems like the solution is to tweak the mid course break runs. MCBR
Loved your video, and I loved how you explained how you thought the Morgan Hypers were boring (minus Phantoms Revenge of course) I've never ridden a Morgan Hyper however I have ridden a B&M Hyper so I know how comfortable the trains are on the B&M hypers, great video once again!!!
Valley fair is my home Park and I noticed that wild thing does have air time but the time you went to valley fair wild thing was probably running slow. The b&m trains do sound good and could help with the rides roughness.
Phantom's Revenge is very small for a hyper coaster, yet its faster than most of them. It goes over those small airtime hills at such speed that you get crazy ejector airtime, bigger is not always better.
Disclaimer: I've never been on a Morgan coaster (I live in the UK) but Morgan's hypers are typically bigger than B&M hypers and Intamin megas yet I never hear people talking about them except for Phantom's Revenge and Steel Dragon (which people only talk about because of its giga status)
I agree Mamba and Wild Thing have pitifully slow return runs. But I've never had an issue on Steel Force and gotten plenty of airtime on that coaster's return.
Intamin & B&M are not losing sleep 😴
So I just rode Mamba again two days ago and holy crap. Two train ops and the trims didn't hit at all. I mean I could hear them but I didn't feel them and in turn the airtime on the return trip was actually pretty strong!!
Steel Force features an aspect of Steel Eel towards the end that I call the Steel Eel effect. When a ride picks you up with airtime and slams you down aggressively
(for contacts to my home park is worlds of fun) I agree with a lot of things you said in this video though I do have a couple grievances. First I have never found any of the Morgan hyper coaster trains uncomfortable then again I am only 5/7 leaving me ample leg and airtime room. Second staying on the topic of air time it might be an issue with your height/ leg room situation that is causing the lack of air time on the large camel backs as even on days when Mamba runs slow I’ve never failed to get amazing floater/borderline ejector on the first Camelback, the hill before the helix, and the hill into the mid course. Basically what I’m boiling it down to is that at least on mamba I personally find everything up until the midcourse is pretty good. Then again I respect your opinion but I recommend you try to get at least a couple more rides on Mamba considering you’re basing your opinion off of it on one ride.
Dude! Thank you so much! I thought I was the only one that felt this way. Those coasters are so boring. And the rolling stock is the worse. It’s like riding in a refrigerator box. 😂
Dorney is my home park, steel force is hit or miss. You know what’s coming, it’s not too intense but if you don’t staple yourself you’re gonna come out of your seat a lot
The airtime on Steel Force in front row is awesome, especially on the return trip. I'm always out of my seat when riding Steel Force on the return trip!!!!! I also love the helix on Steel Force.
Amazing coaster! Always loved it growing up.
I’ve only ridden Mamba. I think would be just as good as the B&Ms if they turned off the trims. I actually really like the first half, but it needs more speed to get airtime at the end
If I may play Devil’s advocate for Steel Force, what it may lack in intensity, I think it makes up for in visual spectacle! Not only do you use those couple seconds at the top to get a nice view of the whole park, as you are speeding down the rest of the track, you fly past a whole slew of other attractions, such as Thunderhawk, Hydra, White Water Landing, as well as the nearby pond. It’s as if the ride is taking you on a crash course tour, giving you exciting glimpses at what Dorney Park has to offer. I’ve been on a few roller coasters where the layout is alright, but there is just nothing interesting to look at, like a crowded parking lot or a highway. Sometimes it’s not always about the amount of airtime you get, but instead it’s alright to just enjoy the view.
You gotta do Steel Force in the back row at night, I did it yesterday and they were the best rides I’ve had on it
Worlds of fun is one of my home parks and when I got on mamba it was amazing I can see why the GP and eanthusiasts love it!
The 3 Cedar Fair Morgans have all been now updated to turn down the mid-course trims. This year I've ridden all three, and I can say these coasters are far more intense and wild than any B&M hyper, the airtime on the return runs are wild. Well, Wild Thing is the tamest of them, but still has better airtime than any B&M, and the final run of Mamba felt out of control, like almost at Magnum levels of wild. They're fantastic coasters!
Steel force on a hot summer day flies through the layout. If it’s hauling the last hills can give borderline ejector. It helps that the mid course doesn’t hit as hard on that ride compared to the other 2.
yeah like 4 seconds of sustained powerfull floajecter on each of the last hills for steel force with a restraint thats gives 6 inches
Marathon any B&M hyper you say? Try Silver Star, even the familycoasters in the same parks are more forcefull
Agreed
I have only ridden Steel Force. The MCBR didn't activate much and the last airtime hills were great.
What row did you ride steel force in?
I rode it in the front and got strong flojector but the back did nothing for me other than the first drop.
I was really surprised when I rode Superman at Six Flags Mexico, really good ride. It wasn't great or nothing special, but it has got some forces I didn't expect.
This needs to be a series. Maybe not why rides suck but more of an analysis of ride types. What makes them good/bad.
Why GCIs are Overrated
@@djsugarc1075 stop right there.
the lack of forces is why i hate the B&M hypers, especially nitro cuz that has literally zero airtime or force whatsoever
Oof I prefer nitro over el toro in the same park... it's better than every intamin I've been on (15 of them)
All right, I have not been on any of these with exception to steel force. And I have to disagree with you on steel Force, I went on yesterday. Got four to five solid rides, The mid course does hit more than I wish it would, but from my experience it's never slowed the ride down, actually in the front row. Back row is really great for the pullover all of the hills, The first drop the midcourse everything with the most powerful moments being mid-course and the first drop, however, the front row on every single hill, every single ride I've gotten on it has given so much air time it's unbelievable. I got flo-jecter, really strong floater, on every single hill and decent ejector going into the mid course and the double up. I cannot say if it's just been running really well. Every single time I've written it but the ride is easily in my top 10 and I cannot get enough of it.
I went to Dorney and got on Steel Force, currently the only Morgan Hyper I've ridden. I found it to be very underwhelming and not well designed. The spaghetti bowl turn-a-round needs WAY more banking, I thought it would have been the coolest part of the ride with a fun banked turn, but all that happened was me being sent to the left of the car uncomfortably as I lazily took a long right turn. Also, the restraints were very loose, I mean VERY loose, in the front I spent most of my time holding myself back in the seat with my legs because the restraints almost had me falling off my seat, keep in mind, I'm 6ft 1in and was around 200lbs at that time, that's also cause of how slow the front was. I rode it in the back and I got some more air, but it still wasn't good...
Just popped in to say you're wrong. Most Morgans have really good floater. You just define "forces" as "ejector".
I may be biased because WOF is my home park, but mamba has a lot of floater on the bunny hills and on the second hill after the first drop
Well I’m glad to hear that you didn’t despise Steel Force’s ending 😂 I haven’t ridden the other two, but they don’t sound much better. If you had to rank them, what would it be?
The phantoms revenge is a different breed
I’ve enjoyed rides on all of them, with the exception of Wild Thing. It did have that mine train feel. Have had amazing experiences on Black Mamba (night), Steel Eel (in the rain), and Superman El Último Escape (night) though.
I thought Mamba was pretty fun, but I definitely agree that the trim absolutely kills what could be a GREAT ending. But the speed is really good, and it’s nice and smooth!
Also, I really love Magnum.
Have you seen Mamba running almost trimless in 2022? They also changed the lift speed so that it doesn’t slow down at the lift apex.
it is a great ending
@@armandconiglio9620 I did!!! It’s SO much better now!!
The problem with the b&m trains is their weight. Morgan trains are around 15-20,000 pounds versus a b&m train is about 70,000. Mako at seaworld Orlando weights about 68 and that only has 7 rows. The momentum would help the second haft but the risk or valleying would be way to high due to the train being 18 rows long. Why did sd2000 get these trains? I honestly don’t know but it does have the benefit of being in a warm part of Japan. The other 3 you mentioned in this video are in relatively colder environments. The other big issue with the trains weighting more is the added stress on the break. Sd2000 benefits from having a really long final break run. These sf and mamba don’t have that luxury. Wild thing is probably the only one that might be able to benefit. And finally the biggest problem it financially it makes no sense to buy an expensive train and to Modify the breaks and maintenance bay at some of the loses performing parks on their most popular rides. The ride is already performing well. Why would they waste that money if it isn’t guaranteed to be this massive improvement. A better option would be to get a train like phantom’s. Cause it was chance Morgan that built these rides. (Not trying to sound like I’m talking you down. It’s just isn’t the best idea logistically.)
Just look at the shaping of the airtime hills on these Morgan Hypers and B&M Hypers and you immediately understand why the latter ones have actual airtime.
I never got forces nor airtime on a B&M but ok
I was actually a big fan of Steel Force. I got alot of room with the lapbar and got some really good floater airtime
Ridden Magnum twice. First time, went in with no expectations and it was the first ride of the night. Great ride, really fun finale. Second time around the next day... those final airtime hills do not deliver until it's warmed up. It's an alright ride, just so janky. The turn around helices are a bit rough for sure
YOU DON'T LIKE MAGNUM?????????

Omg the music at 6:55 😂😂😂😂😂
cole : there a bunch of boring b & m hyper .... * shows RAGING BULL
@Patrick Cadiz what i’m saying
Raging Bull has a really unique layout but the first half suffers from a lot of the same pacing issues that these Morgans do.
Raging Bull has two instances of great ejector (first drop and off the MCBR), and I agree on the laterals at the end. But the middle of the ride just absolutely craaaaawls.
@@ParkPros what’s your favorite hyper ?
Great video, but DUDE. How do you not like Magnum?!?
Wild thing was my first true roller coaster I’ve ever risen so it will always have a special place in my heart
Steel Dragon 2000 looks like a perfect coaster to me and seems like the perfected Morgan coaster
I have not been on the 3 coasters you have discussed. I also have not been on Phantom's. I have been on Desperado, Magnum, and Steel Eel. I think Desperado is really rough but the elements were good at one time. The only Hypers I prefer it to is Titan (SFFT) and Goliath (SFMM). Magnum for me is an elite coaster and is boaderline Top 10 in my current rankings, ahead of Millennium Force and ahead of all B&M Hypers I have been on. Steel Eel, which I just rode within the past 2 months really impressed me and is a quality coaster and was the best in that park. It would be in the middle of the B&M Hypers I have been on. Phantom's looks like a better version of Magnum for me so I agree with you about how good it is. As far as the other 3 are concerned this is what I have heard. Wild Thing is the worse of the 3. I rarely ever hear anything positive about it and in the videos it appears to have the worst pacing of the 3. Mamba gets mixed reviews. Some like it and some don't. Steel Force on the other hand has got positive reviews, maybe not to the level of the B&M Hypers but it is worth move than a one and done rating from what I have heard.
Maybe those sucks but Superman el último escape in six flags México is incredible
So I've heard! Seems like a bucket list coaster to me.
With some reprofiling of the first sections, new trains and reduced trimming, these could be great rides. Might be a decent investment for Cedar Fair if they branded it like a new coaster
The trains are lame, but I don’t think cedar fair would invest in updated trains for these coasters. That would only fix a portion of the problem.
In my opinion, I think I would love Magnum better than the Morgan hypers (with the exception of Superman: El Ultimo Escape at Six Flags Mexico, which I've heard is actually a really good Morgan hyper, since the track profiling is different and Chance Rides that bought Morgan in 2001 actually built the ride). I think they look decent and definitely smoother than Magnum, and the public won't even notice really any flaws of the ride. But yeah, they are definitely what you said: they are just solid hypers for this park, and they didn't cost too much for Cedar Fair: Wild Thing was $9.5 million, Steel Force was $10 million, and Mamba was $10 million, so yeah almost $30 million overall, which isn't too much. But those mid course brake runs, bruh....... why trim them so hard? Now idk if they trim that hard if it's colder, but still.
My first time riding Steel Force I didn’t like it but I rode it again this year and it’s amazing and that ejector and laterals oh yes
To be honest it’s really just the ride operator who’s running steel force that determine how hard the midway brake run hits.
I'd love to hear your opinion on this year's Mamba.
I’m going this week so I’ll let you know!
@@ParkPros opinion I have forgotten if you have talked dvaiut mamba this year yet

Enthusiasts are weird. We all have that one model that we don't like that many people enjoy
Steel Force's trims hit much lighter and I usually get solid air on the return.
Mild Thing and Mamba have that awesome second hill, if I'm in row 3, I get launched. The rest is hot garbage.
You need to get on Steel Eel, the ejector slams you back into your seat.
Eh, look at it this way, lower thrill coasters are good for younger riders who might not reach the height requirements yet for the real monsters.
Alternately, maybe us coaster lovers are all so used to big thrills that anything less doesn't seem as fun anymore. *shrugs* I still maintain a love of both types.
Hey don't worry. Steel Eel is a win in my book. If I can marathon it 70 times in one day in 2003, it's doing something right. :)
I found Steel Force to be Steel Forceless as I experienced no airtime on it. Meanwhile Candymonium has excellent floater airtime
I have no idea on which day you went on. when I went on steel force, the midway brakes weren’t even activated. I got a ton of ejector airtime to say the least. Candymonium is to overrated.
Personally, I got a lot of airtime on steel force when I rode it. I have to agree with you on how the trains suck. The restraints are bad and the seats are really uncomfortable.
The real reason why they’re all Arrow clones is because “Morgan” comes from the name Dana Morgan, the son of Arrow Co-Founder Ed Morgan. I didn’t know if you realized or knew that, or just figured it was a waste of time to say it, but yea.
the only reason the gp has such a high opinion of wild thing is because it's the fastest and tallest ride at valleyfair, I think that's part of the reason they have neglected giving that park a solid coaster in forever because they know it will bring ridership down even though it's in the parks top 3
Wild thing, Steel force, and Mamba had to walk so that Phantoms Revenge could run
Magnum is my #2 at the Cheddar Point(I have not gotten on Steel Vengeance or Dragster) But it has some super intense air time.
Yeah but thats not a morgan hyper haha.

I Love The Wild Thing, Especially The First Hill You Climb After The Big Drop Gives You So Much Airtime! But People Have Different Opinions!
I absolutely agree with what you say about the stupid, boring layouts of these 3 and the airtimeless final hills. I wouldn't say that I dislike them though. They're comfortable rides to me. They're just dull. I do remember Mamba having a couple decent airtime moments in the front row, not on the drop, but some on the first hill and especially the entry into the mid-course.
i work at Dorney and ride steal force after my shift but i can say that it mid course break run it flies through now more than it did a couple of years ago also the morgens are really dependent on were u sit also Dorney would probably have a bigger and better version if they were not placed next to a air port limiting it to only 200 feet for the max Hight because of it
They just reworked the lift hill and brake run on Mamba. It’s running almost trimless and launching you out of your seat on those second-half airtime hills. Much better, but still not great compared to more modern hypers.
Some people are ranking mamba in their top 20 coasters now that it’s trimless
I kinda agree, if I go to Dorney, get there early on a slow day, of it its a slow day in general, I will ride Steel Force if its one train operating ) that does happen, its pretty wild without that trim. But thats a rare thing to find. I don't think Morgan made bad rides, heard great things about Steel Eel and Dragon 2000, and I love Phantom. I think CF wanted big fast rides that weren't intense and kinda cookie cutter to bring in the GP. And thats what they are
I’ve heard the magic seat on Magnum give world class airtime
Kinda reductive video, there’s no real criticism here beyond the trim brake and “I’m bored”. Morgans rock. These rides were impressive for their time and they’re impressive now. They’ve fixed that trim issue that you were correct on, there’s no pacing issues anymore. The trains are great (6’1” btw) apart from the lack of padding, which I need due to the seconds of floater I get on each hill. The airtime is plentiful. Steel Eel is the best of the bunch but they’re all great. No such thing as a boring roller coaster, you’re doing yourself a disservice thinking that way.
Ever hear the interview where a bitter Dana Morgan talks about Millenium Force and intamin underbidding Morgan on the CP giga?
Thank God a morgan giga was never built at CP, as clearly what they had in mind was essentially a 90 mph railroad journey that wouldve taken up even more space and completely changed the trajectory of CP and the industry as a whole.
He was so upset about intamin "scrubbing off all the energy" at the end of the ride with brakes. Uh, that crowd interaction as trains fly by you in line is incredible. D.H. Morgan is a great example of how having the industry knowledge but none of the passion will put you out of the loop while companies with more passion get the opportunity.
I wouldn’t say they SUCK but I haven’t ridden any yet. The main complaints I’ve heard are that the hills are too tall so they give only some floater and are slow at times and that the mid courses kill it
Aside from Mamba and Phantom’s Revenge, I see no reason in re-riding any of the Morgan Hypers.
The second half of steel force is actually amazing and you cant change my mind. You get legit ejector. I dont know what day you went on but when I went the midcourse barely slowed the train down at all.
The drop and first half are pretty ass tho ngl.
Also what do you mean horrible restraints? The lap bars don't come all the way down so you get so much air.
PS: I've only ridden steel force so idk about the others
I can’t believe when he put bad b&m’s he put raging bull that ride in the back row beats out so many coasters
Morgan Hypers will always hold a place in my heart. I prefer Mamba to Steel Eel. However, all of the layouts just feel out of date with drawn out elements and reduced banking.
I think they simultaneously look really ugly and really cool and fun at the same time. Maybe a repaint would do these coasters good. After all, in my opinion, a repaint can make any rollercoaster (at least most of them) Fresh and clean looking, and has an extra new looking effect
I can’t say anything about Steel Force or Mamba, but I didn’t think Wild Thing wasn’t that bad. It wasn’t the best hyper I’ve been on but it was a solid ride.
