I mean...a lot of her deaths weren't because of crits. It was complete disrespect of matchups and the opponent buffing themselves and just trying to brute force.
In other words, less of that one chatter saying "play around the crit" and more the other saying "skill issue." lol

@@Miss_LadyAplomb To be fair, Jan also embraces "It's your nuzlocke, do what you find fun." And that particular rule has been widely adopted ESPECIALLY in randomized runs where starter choices can be invalidated from the get go based on the rival matchup and learnsets.

So, why did that happen?
@@rad_rex the mode you unlock after beating Iris depends on the version you're playing. Jacob got Challenge, Vulpixie got Easy. And you can use the "exchange keys" function to share your keys with the other version, unlocking both extra modes.

I think it’s funny that at the end jacob got challenge mode and Vulpixie got easy mode, the modes are version exclusive for whatever reason 😭
you can obtain a copy of the difficulty option by connecting to a game that has unlocked it.
I believe they didn't want these difficulty options in the first place at all, so they didn't make it easy to unlock both to indirectly say f u to whoever insisted they needed to do it. Does everyone else suffer for this? Unfortunately.
But speaking of which, in the extra content added in crono trigger on the ds, there is a reused area you traverse through and the path is shaped as F U. It's hilarious. _somebody_ was disgruntled in having to add in all that stuff, probably last minute to boot, especially since it was tedious and kinda boring in its linearity.
The legendary clause graphic at 2:56 is killing me. Not only does the title spell it as "legandary," but the text box says "legandery," a completely different way to misspell it lmao

Also I love the tension that that low heath jingle added in these games. Don't even have to use edits, it was just built in, and in a Nuzlock, all the more clench worthy.

26:52 Honestly, I loved that everything old was locked for the main story. Made everything else feel even more new even if the parallels were obvious. Not being able to run a gyarados for the umpteenth time was a non-issue for me.

Ive never heard of Vulpixie, but she is now my favorite youtuber! Vulpix has been my favorite pokemon since Blue first released.
Hyped for the new Neon White vid coming out soon! Watching that video inspired me to play through it and I got platinum (and some Aces) on all of the levels (that I've played so far) so definitely looking forward to it! I liked the limited pokemon, people just gotta let themselves find new favorites
I've tried to nuzlocke B2/W2 before, absolutely brutal generation. Most of the gyms have type advantages against the starters, especially for tepig and snivy
yeah with a randomizer it takes the sting out of b2w2 but i think those are the most upfront challenging nuzs in the franchise. Those first four gyms will reck your shit so fast if you don't get the right encouters or get okod along the way. I still think plat e4 and cynthia are the hardest endgame but man over all challenge is b2w2 for sure
I feel like gold/silver victory road is even easier. If I remember right, there isn’t a single trainer until the rival battle at the end.
I love that Vulpixie started with essentially her namesake, and Alpharad had to choose between a bomb, a bomb and a bug that can maybe survive a bomb
