Gerstlauer: Explained
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 26 сен 2024
- Gerstlauer is a relatively young German amusement ride manufacturer, famous for their compact, yet thrilling, roller coaster models. The company was founded in 1981, and has successfully installed over 80 roller coasters worldwide, the majority of which were constructed within the last 5 years. In this video, we explore the amusement ride models produced by Gerstlauer, such as the iconic Eurofighter and relatively new Infinity coaster, as well as dive into the manufacturers history and recent popularity.

We need more Gerstlauers in the US!
Definitely! :)
Seriously.
yes and the best one is Monster at Adventureland in my opinion.
Now we're getting an infinity at cp
@@bobthegoat17 i sure hope so
Manufacturers: Explained is the greatest thing that has happened to this channel. Thank you for the fabulous content, and I'm excited for the future!
I'm glad you enjoy the series! No problem, thank you for watching :)
How about Mack explained
any idea when you will be covering Intamin?
The fact that Gerstlauer actually managed to pull off building The Smiler is incredible. It just shows the influence John Wardley can have on ride manufacturers.
It is an incredible ride for sure - a masterpiece of engineering! :)
I can see why Harry loves Gerstlauer so much. After all, he keeps leaving me hanging.
This is a good one, you did well. ;)
Karacho: Gerstlauer: 7 Mio. €
Blue Fire: Mack: 20 Mio. €
These things make gerstlauer awesome
I couldn't agree more! :)
and Karacho might even be the better ride, especially the launch.
@@stonedfinn3649 Yes! It’s short but soo good and smooth.
Gerstlauer the king of roller coasters!
Gerstlauer is fast becoming one of my favorite modern designers. I can't wait to get on my first Infinity Coaster!
I just rode The Monster at Adventureland 7 times yesterday! Infinity coasters are amazing!
I'd never have expected to see the "Hansapark" in Germany on here.
A small park that also has one of the oldest Roller Coasters in Europe, the "Nessie" made by Schwarzkopf.
As Niklas said, Hansa Park is an important one for Gerstlauer, with many of their interesting creations! :)
Great job! Your voice is perfect for these.
Thank you! :)
It is great to see more parks buying gerstlauer's quality attractions. With rides such as Kärnan, Gerstlauer have really proven themselves to be a great manufacturer.
I agree! I do hope to see even more large scale Gerstlauers in the future :)
I never knew the G‘sengte Sau was the first coaster they made!
It’s soooo good.
Also Fun Fact:
Gesengte Sau is a pig that’s about to be butchered. The ride is "themed" to a pig running from the butcher.
In quotation marks because there’s nothing in the queue line hinting to this. Maybe it was too dark.
That is a fun fact!
Thank you for watching, and don’t forget to smile. Always.
6:57 Not all hero's wear capes. You are able to tell how courteous this man is SOLEY off his immediate instinct to open the seat next to him.
My dad and I always open and close restraints for the employees at Disney and Universal.
I really love this series.
Still waiting for zierer, pinfari and golden horse explained
Christian Moss personally I wanna see Arrow first
Gerstlauer just builds awesome ride. I am surprised Phantasialand didnt put up with them yet since they are so good in building very special rides
They do build awesome rides, I agree! :)
I love gerstlauer ❤️! They created kärnan no other company could have done it as well as they did it!
I love Gerstlauer too. No other company could have created Kärnan, period.
COASTER BOT Yeah:D.
First off, those Infinity coasters look like the coolest. I've never wanted to ride a coaster as bad as one of those now. Something about the triangular track and how smooth it seems to glide along it is mesmerizing.
Secondly, just found these videos this morning as I was awoken early by a car that was stuck in the snow. They are so informative and well made, I can't wait to continue the dig.
Infinity Coasters are awesome! Thanks for watching and stumbling across my stuff. I am glad you like it! :)
Surprised you didn't mention the dive coaster they are opening at knott's next year! It looks class.
Yeah, I forgot to mention Hangtime, but at the end of the day it isn't much different from the other infinity coasters on offer.
It's great that Gerstlauer is becoming a lot more innovative :) I think for some people, including myself, we usually forget Gerstlauer in the list of roller coaster manufacturers from those of B&M, Intamin, Rocky Mountain Construction, GCI, all those really big names manufacturers, but now they are becoming a lot more popular from their innovation and can't wait what they come up with next.
I agree, Gerstlauer is often overshadowed, but they are producing a lot more rides nowadays. As you said, I do hope they continue to innovate and make their way up in the amusement ride world. :)
An amazing video as always. I love the additon of music to the video, and the back story of the manufacturer made me appreciate it more.
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoy the music, that's great to hear. I'll take these on board for the next video :)
I am drinking tea out of my smiler mug as I watch this.
Awesome! ;)
Dollywood removed the flat curve this season.
It was a bit rough but
IMO
That's The best thing about the ride.
I seriously doubt I'll ever ride Mystery Mine again.
Infinity Coaster is Thanos's favorite model.
Whey!
*Infinity*
Lol imagine the smiler logo on his face
I love Gerstlauer Launches , so much better than the weakness of Mack launches
Most definitely! :)
Excellent comprehensive 'explained' video! The balance between Gerstlauer's backstory, and product line-up is well arranged, and your narration is easy to listen to - I appreciate in particular your efforts to pronounciate foreign names haha. On top of that, your montage skills get really impressive... cool transitions dude!
I suggest for the next Manufacturer video to go a little more in-depth about the ride experience and what makes the company's design philosophy different. For instance, I really like Gerstlauer's creative approach with layouts, as they often add 'surprises' before the first lift hill or launch (Kärnan is the most striking example of that). Gerstlauer has also created unique elements such as Takabisha's 'banana roll', and made breakthroughs in the industry with Gekion Live at Tokyo Joypolis, a Spinning coaster with an inversion, well before Time Traveler at SDC!
I feel illustrating a manufacturer's work with some genuine comments about their ride experience would further cement the quality of these videos. It would make the piece even more valuable for enthusiasts, and give the general audience a more concrete feel of what the company can achieve ;)
Again, well done Harry for this excellent informative work! I'm glad I was able to help with some footage, even though it wasn't the best quality. Looking forward to the next video! :D
Thank you man, I appreciate the kind words. You are totally right about the feedback. I will aim to mention more about the general manufacturers practises in the next episode, and I am kind of annoyed I forgot to talk about Gerstlauer's pre-lift hill sections in this video. Nevertheless, you live and learn. Thank you for the consistent feedback and for providing great footage. :)
5:02 ANUBIS!!!! MY FAV ROLLERCOASTER!!
Great video as always Harry! :) I liked the subtle music in the background.
Thank you, and that's great to hear, I need feedback on that. :)
I love this video I love Gerstlauer and you!

CHECK IT OUT!
You got me... I've been exposed.
This is my favorite video yet. Brilliant. I’d be interested to see more content focused on manufacturers. Great job!
That's really great to hear! Thank you. There will be more of these, don't worry :)
Im glad you chose Gerstlauer, its history is short but interesting, and its ties to schwartzkopf explains its look and style.
I agree, it's a very interesting company. :)
The also made my 5th favorite coaster (smiler) so i might be biased
I haven't been to a park in 10 years, but wow there are some awesome looking concepts on these coasters. Video was fantastically done as well. Nice Work!
You'll have to head out to a park this year then! Roller coasters have certainly progressed during that time span. I'm glad you enjoyed the video, thank you! :)
I love gerstlauer the smiler is my favourite coaster :)
The Smiler is my favourite roller coaster as of now also! :)
COASTER BOT yay :)
My dad likes smiler
Same
I love these videos! Nice job Harry
Thank you! :)
"theme parks worldwide"
Cheeky.
That one was purely accidental, but I did notice it myself. :)
Now this is why I'm subscribed🙌
Understandable ;)
Thank you for your awesome content, Coaster Bot! after a hard week of work it's so relaxing to come home and learn a bunch of roller coaster history and facts! Your narration is top-notch.
No problem! Thank you for watching and the kind words :)
Great vid! Tripsdrill is the experimental park from Gerstlauer! It's great to see the evolution from G'sengte Sau to Karacho.
Thank you! It really is interesting to see Gerstlauer's development. :)
I love this channel I can’t wait to see more rollercoasters explained
Awesome, that's fantastic to hear! Thanks for watching. :)
Yay! the music is here!
Indeed it is!
can you make a video about the Efteling?
btw a very nice vid keep it up!
I do hope to at some point in the future. Thank you :)
I'd love to see an Arrow Corkscrew explained. There were so many of them when I was young. Seemed like every park had to have one.
Great suggestion, I'll note it down :)
There's a lot of information out there about B&M, Intamin, and Arrow, so I'm glad that you're raising awareness of the smaller manufacturers first. Great video!
We'll probably get to some of the larger manufactures soon. Before we did this, we wanted to perfect the scripting and editing of the series. :)
Amazing video! Do more of these
There will be more, don't worry! :)
Interesting that Mr. Gerstlauer used to work for Schwarzkopf (I'm sure in the great beyond, Anton would be liking the Gerstlauer rides)
Yoooooos! :D great vid. So happy and great vid :D.
That disliker is retarded
Thank you very much! :)
This is such a good vid 👍 about 2 years ago this video made me interested in roller coasters
Good job!
Thank you! :)
Amazing video.
of all the gerstlauer's I have done, Gold Rush is my favorite.
Thank you! Gold Rush does look awesome, I'm jealous :)
@@coasterbot it's better then star Trek
Great Video Harry! Keep bringing out these manufacturer explained videos. Their really interesting
Thank you, I do plan to create more! :)
This guy’s content is phenomenal I just gotta say. Keep it up 👍
You're too kind!
@@coasterbotagree
I knew it would be Gerstlauer! Great Video!
Awesome, thanks! :)
Personally, I somewhat disagree with the fact that Gerst rides are easy to distinguish...they use similar track to a lot of other manufacturers. Fantastic video through.
That's very true to be fair. I was more going along the lines of they have a consistent track design, unlike other companies, Intamin for example, who seemingly have 100 different designs for their track. Nevertheless, thank you :)
Yes, sometimes for me I think it’s intamin but I know it’s definitely not B&M lol
So Mack Rides isn't the only manufacturer that makes similar track?
These videos are great.my vote for the next video Mack rides explained.
I'm glad you enjoy them! :)
Amazing work! This is quality Theme Park content! :)
Thanks Tibor, I really appreciate it! :)
The man at 8:35 has no shirt on.
Drue Garrett I saw this, then instantly scrolled down to the comments cause I knew someone would say something
Garrett so
It’s funny because I didn’t even notice, I was too busy being shocked at the fact S&S made a wooden coaster (I didn’t know they did that)
Yay New Vid Hi Coaster Bot!
Hello!
Great video!
Thanks! :)
Wow great video!
Thank you :)
Great video.
Thank you :)
Really great video and series. I'm truly loving your easily digestible information on the coaster manufacturing companies. Thank you. I Subscribed!
Thank you very much for watching and subscribing :)
Your videos are so unique and informative. Thank you
Thank you for the kind words! :)
Great video about Gerstlauer!
Thank you! :)
BryceFourn 2001 Why are you here?
YES!!
The monster over here at Adventureland is a surprise gem among gerstlaurs and is a must ride if your a fan of the model.
Best channel in RUclips
You are too kind, thank you :)
Great vid + love gerstlauer
As good as always !
Thanks! :)
Aaaah yeeees!! I saw the mystery mine and firechaser express. I work at Dollywood on the wild eagle. Although wild eagle is a B&M coaster I can work on fire chaser and mystery mine which are both gerstlauers.
That's awesome to hear :)
The troublesome trucks roller coaster made it in a coaster bot video. Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It was inevitable really! :)
Lattice, thank you, I now know what my favourite track is actually called
Cant wait for hangtime at knotts it will be my first infinity coaster
That looks to be an awesome coaster! :)
Didn’t even realize this was uploaded. These videos are great. I’d love one for Arrow
I'm glad you enjoyed it. Arrow is on the list :)
3:47 finally my home park
"gsengte sau" is located in my home park, didnt thought you knew about such things nice research!
Mammut and karacho are also located there
I know a bit about Tripsdrill and do hope to visit that park at some point in the future, it looks fantastic! :)
COASTER BOT i wish they would add more coasters and i didnt even know that nearly all rides in this Park are from gerstlauer
I love these explained vids great job like always
That's fantastic to hear. Thank you. :)
You are almost at the 1000 likes man keep it going
Thanks! :)
Can't wait for Hangtime! California's first Gerst
Hangtime is going to be awesome! I'm glad to see more Gerstlauer's in the USA.
8:58 I've been to Duinrell, The Netherlands, Wassenar. I went on a miniature coaster although there is a eurofighter located at the same theme park
The only roller coaster that I've ever ridden was the Gerstlauer Infinity Coaster called HangTime at Knott's Berry Farm in May 2018. I know that the first Infinity coaster by Gerstlauer in U.S. is Monster at Adventureland. There's already enough Eurofighter rides, I hope that they put more Infinity coasters in the near future.
Hangtime and Monster both look great!
I've had many a very long day being the operator on Speed at Oawkood during the quiet season /sigh. My mis-spent youth.
I can imagine. Speed is a great ride though!
Can’t wait ‘till BangTime opens
Me either! :)
Quality as always.
Thanks Alex! :)
Since you provided names and manufacturers for non-Gerstlauer coasters in this video, you should probably also add captions for all the Gerstlauer coasters too so we know what coasters they are.
It took me a good 15 minutes to provide name tags for only 3 coasters. Multiply that by 10 minutes of video and that's a huge chunk of time. Unfortunately it's just not time effective to do that.
Was lucky enough to finally get back to Alton Towers last month after many years last and tried out the Smiler. It has to be the most exhilarating coaster I've ridden, amazing considering its small footprint. Proves I'm getting old though, I loved it but my brain tried to shut down on one of the dips.
It is a fantastic ride, I agree! :)
it would be cool to see a high-capacity thrill-ride coaster model from Gerstlauer-they seem to stick to going small with their infinitys still only having 4 carriages maximum
Infinity coasters can feature trains of up to 8 cars long. The 4 car train models can have good capacities, for example, the Smiler has a capacity of 1200pph. :)
ok, thanks for putting that out there as 8 carriages is a fair amount (I'm kinda excited as this is the first time the you tuber has replied to my comment)
Sure they may not me B&M, or Mack Rides, but they’re rides pack a punch. I personally enjoy these rides and I fee, like even though it’s basically only euro fighters (with a few others) but I think they are amazing.
BTW Coaster Bot, keep the good work up, your videos are always creating high quality videos and I love watching them!
I definitely agree, Gerstlauer produce some incredibly unique and enjoyable roller coasters. Thank you also, it means a lot :)
I am Danish and i love how you say "Vildsvinet" BTW i have ridden the coaster at 5:40 and the one at 8:34
I hope I didn't completely mess up the pronunciation of it! :)
COASTER BOT it was okay 😂 but you are for sure better then Logan and Tayler at European coaster names
Pronunciation is 10/10
It's probably more like a 5/10, but I do try my best to get it right by contacting various people for the correct pronunciations :)
Could you do an Alton Towers Explained? I’m from the US and would love to know more about it in your fantastic video style. What you do is so useful to your audience and helps preserve theme park history.
I do hope to make that video at some point in the future. I appreciate the kind words about the content I make, thank you. :)
YAAAAASSSSSSSSSS a vid on my second fav manufacturer
So you prefer Gerstlauer over B&M, Intamin or Mack Rides?
I wouldn't agree on that, but everybody has it's opinion :)
Filipolis *second* favourite
My fav is b&m
I said *or*. I meant that if Gerstlauer is your favourite, you have to put at least two of these three below it. And so you find Gerstlauer better than Intamin or Mack Rides? I'm wondering which Gerstlauers you've been on then, beacause the one's I've ridden weren't that good.
Filipolis my count is only 11 lol
The gerst ride I've ridden is smiler. So good
Mine is 5 times that, but it's not that I've really ridden many more rides. And if you're stuck in the UK, then getting to theme parks probably isn't that easy (Merlin's almost monopoly -> high prices, and it's time consuming to get to the rest Europe), so getting that counter up isn't probably easy either. But the main Gerstlauer's for me were Anubis The Ride at Plopsaland and Typhoon at Bobbejaanland, both acceptable rides, but they felt quite cheap for me (weird transitions and quite unbalanced layouts in terms of forces and intensity). But I can understand that after riding The Smiler you liked that company, it seems like a wicked ride (I'd probably vomit during those final two heartline rolls/corkscrews with my weak stomach, so it's not a coaster for me) :D
that boy in the gerstlauer spinning coaster with the dark t shirt is from a Vekoma boomerang parody
Love that Infinity ride! So smooth compared to the EuroFighter. Also, I always forget just how incredible The Smiler looks. All those inversions packed into that tiny space. Makes me glad I got a season pass for 2018!!
EuroFighters are that rough generally, but I agree that Infinity coasters are smoother. The smiler is an engineering masterpiece, enjoy riding it in 2018! :)
@@coasterbot can agree on that.
In my opinion, I think Gerstlauer is the best roller coaster manufacturer. I know they don't only do coasters, but I think their coasters are really special. Especially their Eurofighter and Infinity coasters.
I definitely agree. Gerstlauer create roller coasters unlike any other company! :)
COASTER BOT For sure
I really love your videos.
Thank you, I really appreciate it :)
Great video after great video. Keep it up man
Thank you! :)
i rode the hydrus at seaside heights nj. its quite fun 👍👍👍
Awesome to hear! :)
Got one of the 2 only launch Models at a 20min drive from me. Anubis is a great coaster with a very intense Launch. Probably the best coaster in Belgium. And that for a Gerstlauer 🤣
I'd love to ride Anubis, it looks like a lot of fun! :)
We need a world class gerstlauer in the UK. The Smiler, saw, speed a cobra are good but not fantastic We need something like Anubis or goldrush
The Gerstlauer's we do have are pretty great to be honest. The Smiler, being the best of the bunch, is close to world class in my opinion. Honestly I would love to see another Infinity coaster in the UK at some point in the future. :)
COASTER BOT
speed- badly maintained, rough and they operate it badly
Cobra- it's a family coaster. Good but nothing special
Saw- fantastic theming but it HURTS
rage- the best of the eurofighters but it's quite short
Smiler- the best of the lot, has a fantastic soundtrack and theming but it's rough. Also I don't enjoy inversion after inversion because it needs to be a good all round ride. You don't have time to enjoy the inversion before boom, another inversion. It's great but I don't see how inversions after inversions are world class this is just my opinion though
COASTER BOT I agree, I wouldn't mind an infinity at lightwater valley
Every time I go on a vid it always says blah explained lol XD
next time maybe specific what park has what rides because i thought that the Mammut you was speaking about was the one in Gardaland but I know that it wasn't produced by them but by Vekoma
