My favorite part of the coaster wars is when two park chains build huge roller coaster that rival each other, but they're both built by the same manufacterer, so as the different park chains compete, the manufacterers are just like, "Ah yes... which will win: project 1 or project" lol
I am currently in a roller coaster binge. What this means is that I cannot stop watching roller coaster videos for the life of me! I've done this a couple of times, but it's never gotten this bad. Before, I would only watch the POV videos. Now I keep watching videos about the coasters and the manufacturers. Thank you for fueling this because I'm enjoying it so much!
Can't stop watching this channel, always have loved coasters but only recently wanted to actually learn more about how they work and who makes them, the info is presented so well in these videos!
Man, you teach history like some of the RUclipsrs who's entire channels are dedicated to that purpose... Thanks for adding that part about B&M--I had no clue...! Can't wait for Part 2! I'll actually be in another state for a camp the day it comes out, but that just means that I'll have to watch it either on the flight or at the airport. PS: When you said "Wollerau" (0:09), I paused the video and tried to pronounce it myself--I still can't... Haha!
@@coasterbot To be honest, if it weren't for channels like yours, I probably wouldn't be becoming a rides person. I used to be horrified of coasters after my mother made me ride one or two of them that were a 'bit' too intense for me at the time. Later in my life I had a fear of them based on fear of the ride going wrong. I only recently have ever had a ride go wrong (I was on what they told us was the "first on-ride evacuation" of the Hagrid's Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure), and because of your safety video, I wasn't the least bit afraid--and that was after having just rocked back-and-forth under a hill after a high-up stall in the ride...! [They later told us that the reason they had to shut-down the ride was because one of their computers had died in the middle of the ride] The only part I was afraid about was that they might have done what they did earlier in the ride, which was slam on the brakes, make us wait for 15-minutes for technical issues, then have the bikes shoot-off to 50-mph with no warning whatsoever. Even then--I knew I wasn't going to be put in danger. Thanks you so much for your stuff!
who cares. I don't think I've ridden any of them, who gives a shit. There's way more fun things out there to do. Whether or not you rode a coaster shouldn't make you so sad lmao. Cheer up:)
I rode this a few weeks ago, and it was my daughters (4 y/o) first roller coaster ride. What a little treat for me that her first was also a first for Intamin.
Love it. It's cool to see how the two best coaster companies started off together then split apart. I love Intamin for their relentless extremes in terms of pushing the envelope for the biggest and fastest coasters. My current favorite is Intimidator 305, closely followed by Millennium Force.
Hey *Coaster Bot.* Love the explained vids. Just got back from Kings Dominion where I watched Grizzlys track flex hard in the station turn. Then I researched more woodie flex and saw Rattler at Fiesta Texas and was shocked by how much it swayed. Have you given any thought to maybe a "Coaster Flex Explained" video? I would surely be interested in that.
Thank you very much, that's great to hear! That's a good suggestion actually. A video about how and why roller coasters flex could be quite interesting! :)
I've ridden the Rattler at Fiesta Texas. Didn't know/realize that it swayed and it wasn't till I got off the ride that the person I went to the park with told me. 😱
I am convinced that Intamin would build me a washing machine if I needed them to. It wouldn't be a cheap washing machine and it might not be the most reliable washing machine but it would be beautiful to look at and be the best in the world when running.
2:12 Wow I used to go on that ride all the time! I didn't know it was the first of its kind in the world, nor that it was made by Intamin. It was a great ride, but I remember it always having a really, really long que though.

Nice one. Being German, i noticed that you pronounced Schwarzkopf kind of "inverted", to stay with coaster terminology. You say it like "Swarschkof". Just switch your "Sch" and "z" sounds around and you should have the correct pronounciation. The "Sch" sounds like in the beginning of "should", and the "z" like in the beginning of "tsunami". Also, the A in there is like the beginning of "amusement". This is the best i can describe it.
I really thought about how to type this phonetically, but it's hard to think that way in English when you're German, if you catch my drift. But i found a better way. Make a RUclips search for "Anton Schwarzkopf Der Mann der in Amerika Wellen schlägt", you should find a video by the channel "themeparkdokus". In that video, at 0:49 for example, you can hear the 100% proper pronounciation. Plus, that channel might interest you in general ;)

Didn't Cedar Point's Wilderness Run open as Jr. Gemini? It didn't get renamed until the camp Snoopy got put there.
It did! You'd be surprised at how much longer a video can get when you state all of the previous names of rides though! ;)
@@coasterbot the historian in me always cringes with anachronism. Good video
Like how here at KI, Woodstock Express was once Beastie To the Beast

I rode it as junior Gemini! :D

I know, sorry for taking so long!
Me too. Intamin is my favourite!
Woah that only part 1 ! That’s a rich history for a relatively young company, great video Harry looking forward to part 2🎢👌🏼🧱👍🏼
