After my visit in August of 2021 I’d say Michigan’s Adventure is a good park. Shivering Timbers is elite, and the rest of the lineup is just fine. The atmosphere is solid, and I love the lake in middle of the place. I’d say this park isn’t terrible, but isn’t great either, and definitely a super solid park and if Cedar Fair can give them Wicked Twister and another new coaster, such as a new age Vekoma it could be a fantastic theme park.
As someone who has lived in Muskegon my whole life I am so sad that they didn't include the Waterpark in their judgments That is one of the best things about the park is, for no extra charge, you get a whole other park experience! Two parks for the price of one has been their slogan since I was a child and the fact that a whole half the park is ignored seem incomplete

Only one problem: this isn’t a small park. It’s 250 acres, around the same size as Six Flags Magic Mountain. The park does very little with that massive amount of land, less so than much smaller parks (which are praised) such as California’s Great America (100 acres), Knott’s Berry Farm (57 acres) and Holiday World (121 acres). People don’t criticize this park because it’s small. They criticize it because of its operations, poor ride lineup and lack of atmosphere.
@@triple7marc We can actually blame Cedar Fair for that, apparently Shivering timbers was part of a Phased expansion of the park before Cedar Fair bought it, Shivering Timbers was Phase one, and Phase two would have included a Morgan Hyper, but Cedar Fair bought the park and canceled those plans, presumably to remove competition with Cedar Point, since they did the same with Geauga Lake
It’s so crazy how similar it is to geauga lake too (the layout that is) and the water park being connected with the park (prior to geauga lake buying seaworld and moving it to other side of lake). You nailed it on the head though with the keeping it a smaller regional park so it doesn’t compete with their crown jewel park. Once they bought out geauga lake I knew it was going to be a matter or time before they dismantled it. It’s unfortunate too because it was a great regional park with a ton of room to grow (I believe it was one of the biggest theme parks in the world once they bought out sea world and expanded 700+ acres). It was just a matter of time before it got dismantled though considering how close it was to CP and knew they wouldn’t want the extra competition within a 2 hour drive 🤷♂️ all I know is I surely miss the park and wish my children would’ve gotten to experience it the way I did as a kid
Thank you for this video. Living in Grand Rapids, I come here a few times a year with friends and it may not have the best coaster lineup, but it's still a really enjoyable park to have a fun day at. The waterpark is also great and has some solid water slides. Not to mention it's included with park admission. I'm glad you had a good time here and I hope this visit will make you want to come back someday
Great video! I’m definitely itching to go here someday because of you and Ryan. I think Taylor may have caught the park at a bad time because like every park was really understaffed until the End of June, but he definitely wasn’t looking for positives

As someone who's lived in West Michigan for 7 years now I'm really glad you've reviewed this park. I've never been Michigan's Adventure but after watching this I definitely will be!
This is a comment about Taylor as I seen him at Kings Dominion on August 29th getting off I 305( which in my opinion is the best coaster on the planet, yes better than Steel Vengence) and I yelled to him how much I enjoyed his videos and was totally blown off twice as it happened outside the Que again. Keep up the great work
There's an argument that could be made about him not noticing you but at the same time something about him has always just felt off to me. When I saw his Mi Adventure video it really saddened me. Its my home park and I don't expect people to love it like I do but his video just felt so mean spirited.
To be fair, he doesn't exactly strike me as a sociable person, even for a coaster enthusiast. Maybe he didn't hear you or whatever. I don't know. Not a big fan of his stuff anyway.
Ten rides that would make MIA a destination park: 10. Zamperla Disk'o 9. Soaring Eagle Zipline 8. Zamperla Discovery (not a Mega or Giga) 7. Vekoma Family Boomerang 6. S&S Combo Tower 5. RES Swing (I don't know the full name) 4. Intamin Surfrider 3. FunTime Starflyer 2. Gerstlauer Eurofighter replacing Corkscrew 1. Chance Hyper-GTX
A few points to make Cedar Fair's lack attention look silly: 1a.) The population of Muskegon County is 173,000 and growing. You cited just the city of Muskegon ;) 1b.) People from Holland and Grand Rapids make day trips to Muskegon/Grand Haven all the time, especially for MI Adventure. 1c.) Kent County were Grand Rapids is located has 656,000 residents, with Newago, Ottawa, and Oceana counties (directly connected to Muskegon) having an additional 366,000 people. 1d.) If it's not clear from above, there's 1.1 Million people within a 45 minute drive of the park. Technically more than Cedar Point... But CP is also between Toledo and Cleveland, and 2 hours from Detroit. 2.) Cedar Fair owns about 152 Acres with about 42 Acres unused. The Park 41.20 Acres (Rides, Waterpark, Walk ways, food areas, etc) Operations 17.25 Acres (Employee Areas) Parking 28.15 Acres Main Pond 9.00 Acres & Other Water 14.88 Acres There's 550+ Acres of undeveloped land that could be purchased that's contiguous to the existing property. (Could be 2x the size of Cedar Point)
You forgot to mention, Michigan's Adventure is by far the most profitable park in the chain. It doesn't need to be bigger. It doesn't need to be a Cedar Point competitor. The park serves a purpose, and it serves that purpose well.
@@supersanic1254 Cedar Points Profits the last Decade Obliterate All of there parks..... Wtf are you talking about, its one of the Least Visited Cedar Fair Parks, Top 3 are Cedar Point, Kings Landing, Great America.... math hard.
@@PhatRobsOils I think he's referring to profit margin, not total profit. MA is a cash cow, they don't put much money in, but it makes them a lot of money year in and year out. I definitely believe that if MA was either independent or owned by a 3rd party outside of CF/6F (I know they're merged now), They could be a much bigger contender to Great America and at least compete somewhat with CP. Another small fact, Grand Rapids metro has recently entered into the top 50 largest metros in the country, as well as one of the quickest growing cities as well.
Your video alongside ElToroRyans review of shivering timbers has changed my outlook on this park and has convince me to put this on my list parks to visit. It's too bad cedar fair doesn't invest into more attractions for this park as its setting is very unique. Sick video dude
I went after seeing ETR's review but I really couldn't see what he saw in that ride. The Airtime was SO weak, it was a little better in the back but it was so rough that I couldn't enjoy it, also that turn and helix needs more banking, like a lot more, I hate excessive laterals, actually, I hate laterals in general
I love Michigan’s Adventure, it’s one of my favorite parks! Honestly, I don’t think it needs more coasters. It’s a nice, small family park. It’s a nice change of pace from the bigger parks.
I grew up in the area and this was always my families go to amusement park. Now we live near holiday world. Both parks are fun and have their own things going for them. I defined love both of them.they are great foe day trips. I feel like bigger parks such as Kings Island are for those who have the two day passes. Though you can get that at holiday world too. All in all, Michigan's Adventures is where I have a lot of memories. And I love that they have all the attractions you want from a small place. Carousel, ferris wheel, Dwan rides, train rides. And that's without talking about the water park attached to it.
I went to this park since I was a kid till I left Michigan at 30. It's the best, went before it was a Ceder park too. Shivering timbers is great. You only reviewed half the park, the water park is the best part. I like the water park best but my best friend likes the coasters. Iv never waited in a long lines.
I have a Cedar Fair platinum pass and I have family in Holland Michigan, about 45min south of the park. I had a few extra hours to use on my commute back home to Indianapolis on a Friday back in July so I made a little detour to this Jem! I Road the big 3 coasters plus the Arrow looping in a little over an hour with no fast pass! I ended up only staying in the park for about 2 hours, but I left feeling very satisfied! Definitely worth the visit if you’re within 2-3 hours of the park!!
I think what a lot of people miss about these small parks is that the familiarity of the place can be really crucial and if you expand too much you can ruin the things your main customer base love about their home parks. I loved geauga lake as a kid, but my last visit was after the park had been mutated and what was once a beautiful park had a sky line of these monstrous coasters that did not fit the park at all. Every ounce of heart and integrity just seemed completely suffocated and before too long everyone in town just stopped going. We didn't want an s tier level park that catered to enthusiasts, we just wanted our regular park.
I’m glad you had a good time. It seems like it’s just hit or miss this year. You had fun, Airtime Thrills had fun, then Coaster Studios didn’t. And I’ve heard bad stories on Facebook. So you obviously went on a good day.
I grew up with this place, and I really do love it. It does have a lot of potential though and if love to see rides like wicked twister, or a new gen vekoma, or even anything from S&S at this point
Haven't been there in years and I live in Michigan. Never had a bad experience. It's fun. Last time I rode Timbers it had the Trick Track. Now that was fun! Great Video!
Aweosme video! Yeah, the line up apart from Shivering Timbers doesn’t look half that bad! I definitely got to get out here especially when you pointed out those attractions that aren’t even an up charge… almost seems like a steal
Great video!!!! It’s very nice to see more positivity given to Michigan’s adventure. I haven’t been there yet and I wouldn’t go out of the way to visit but if I was vacationing near by, I would try to make the visit. I don’t think it would be the greatest park in the world but it is definitely overhated and I say this as a die hard coaster enthusiast. While I think the best amusement parks are the ones with the best coaster line up’s, a great environment, friendly employees and convenience are nothing to downplay. That being said, Shivering Timbers looks incredible!!!!
I felt the same way about Dorney Park. Everyone craps all over it & I expected it to be awful. We had a blast there & it was probably the most pleasant surprise of the 28 parks we've been to in the last 18 months. Even Six Flags Darien Lake was much better than I expected.
I also really enjoyed my time at Dorney. I think Cedar Fair nails a lot of the little stuff, like cleanliness, guest experience and overall park ambiance.
i guess some of the hardcore coaster enthusiasts are like the Gordon Ramsays of amusement parks! 🤣 I been to Darien Lake before I wasnt too bad. Of course Cedar Point is my favorite park but places like Darien Lake or even Indiana Beach or Mt Olympus is still fun!
I went to Dorney on the 11th last month, and boy oh boy, it was scorching hot. On the plus side, at least they had the classic Demon Drop that was originally at my home park.
That's why I'm here. My home park Worlds of Fun is getting a new roller coaster after 14 years of the last ride being built and I keep seeing comments about "what about Dorney Park, Valley Fair and Michigan Adventures." I came here to see what these parks look like.
I think enthusiasts as a community should try to put more emphasis on the parks as a whole, rather than just solely the coasters. I'm Australian, so even the bottom tier chain parks in the USA would be really cool.
Being a Michigan resident, I've visited this park even before Cedar Fair owned it. Before that, it was called Deer Park Fun Land, and that's the reason it's in the middle of nowhere. Since Cedar Fair has bought it, it has grown a lot and has become a really nice park. As some other people commented already, it does have a top-notch water park that is included with the general admission, which makes this park a complete whole day activity in family fun park. I think if Cedar Fair would invest in a camp ground and then advertise it then I think it would only increase the park atendance even more as so many people love to find a gread place to camp and have activities for the family to do. Maybe then after a few years of increased attendance Cedar Fair would start making some more great investment and everybody would win.
I was out there July 10-11, had fast pass and rode Shivering Timbers 19 times over two days. I was pleasantly surprised about the park. Last time I rode Thunderhawk was at Geauga Lake in 97 or 98
The Corkscrew here is the 2nd roller I've been on. This was back when it was the only roller-coaster here and the park was still called Deer Park. It's awesome that the ride is still there!
Always love seeing my home park get the praise it deserves I’ve always loved going there for years and it was the only park I had ever been to for like my first 13 years before I got to great America
it was really funny to me watching coaster studios video about the park & then seeing airtime thrills video pop up in my recommendations and checking it out, where he had much more objective outlook on the park and it’s coaster haul, and it became very apparent to me that coaster studios video had a bitter taste to it because of shivering timbers being closed. and now this video being in my recommended is even funnier. i enjoyed this video!
This park would be so much better if Cedar Fair had never bought it. Knowing the plans the former owner had it would have been a legitimate Cedar Point compeditor.
8:50 Last time I checked Michigan's Adventure/Cedar Fair owns about 75% of that area. They don't own the campground, but they own the area next to the campground, all the area to the end of Shiviring Timbers, and even across the trail from there.
Loved seeing a positive video of Michigan's Adventure. Gem of a little park. Only thing I will say is the gr muskegon metro is 1.3 million. Muskegons suburbs are larger then the city. Muskegons metro is around 150k. Gr Holland and muskegon is well over a million
Im from Northeastern NY and the 6 flags near me has a wooden coaster called The Comet. It is a family favorite an excited to go to Michigan Adventures while were on vacation in Michigan. Were lravimg i 5days, an going there this Sunday. Me an my 14yr old cant wait to ride this.
@@ParkPros That probably has more to do with history than anything. Experiences with old rides are likely driving the drought - it's a bit easier to correct those reputations in your home region. Intamin hasn't been able to sell a ride to Six Flags or Cedar Fair in a long while either. If not for Universal and Sea World Parks taking a chance we wouldn't have many new Intamins either.
appreciate this! i live 40 mins away from Michigan’s adventure and while it’s not an amazing park by any means, it really scratches that adrenaline itch with the coasters and water rides. my family and I have platinum passes, but that’s due to it making our cedar point trips cheaper. but regardless, it’s not bad at all for a free trip every week during the summer.
hi, i agree with you on so many points. i visited mi 4 years ago and had a great time. i live with cp in my back yard so i dont get to the other parks as much as i want, but i did take a 2 day visit to the area and loved it. for anyone else reading this, go if you can and have a great time.
Michigan’s Adventure is no Cedar Point, that obvious, but I do agree with your assessment. As a Michigander on the east side of the state, it’s hard to get excited going to the west side to visit when CP is less of a drive. I found my one time going there to be a pleasant experience. Yes the coaster lineup sucks but a great water park does help the park’s reputation. Maybe Cedar Fair would put Wicked Twister to “upgrade” the park. Definitely planning on going again maybe next year.
You are right..I agree..Someone can have a bad day at a park and diss it..I had a bad day at knotts berry farm, and at cedar point..But had so much fun at worlds of fun,and at kings island...So there you go..It's also how you take on the park..You can make it fun anywhere. This park is no exception...I will go one day and make it a fun day..I have more fun at the smaller parks for some reason 😊
What you arent considering is how close Cedar Point is for most of the people who would want to go to Michigans adventure. 3hr drive to cedar point vs 3hr drive to michigans adventure and you see why Cedar Fair doesnt want to invest a ton into Michigan Adventure. Ive been going there since before Cedar Fair bought them (2001) and it was my favorite park back then. It was so much less overwhelming than Cedar Point as a kid and you felt good actually being able to hit every single ride and get to the water park to cool off (Which is free unlike cedar points water park).
8:19 I might have to disagree, personally I dont think kings island is a 'Lower Tier' cedar fair park, its their 2nd/3rd most popular park and has a decent ride lineup and its very well kept
I think he said for wooden coasters ,, SHIVERING TIMBERS is better than the BEAST , MYSTIC TIMBERS , SCOOBY DOO -- FAIRLY ODD COASTER -- BEASTIE ,, what ever the call it now .... And I would have to agree with him , SHIVERING TIMBERS IS BETTER THAN ANY WOODEN COASTERS AT KINGS ISLAND AND CEDAR POINT ,, BLUE STREAK is the only one at Cedar Point now ....
@@robertswickard8355 Frankly best woodie at a Cedar Fair park wasn't a particularly high bar to clear. At least until recently. And the only reason that situation has improved is GCI is good at what they do - delivering good rides even if you decide to build small.
I live about 5-10 minutes from Michigan adventure, i grew up riding those rides (i rode shivering timbers once and peed myself, i was 8). I love this park and its a great place to go with friends.
As a Michigander who grew up with MI's Adventure, it is most certainly the most underrated park in the chain ngl. Shivering Timbers is a great standout, and if they just took advantage of the other undeveloped half of the park and make a few investments into new rides it could be pretty nice

The trains were not running at Michigan's Adventure in 2022. Loved to go with my Michigan love, Marissa, from 2017-2022. Obviously was closed in 2020. Love the water park. It's a great area to hang out with your special partner and enjoy West Michigan life. Also note to the OP, don't underestimate Grand Rapids. The city proper might not have a huge population but it is a very suburbanized metro and the Grand Rapids metro area has 1.3 million people, and that doesn't even include Muskegon County, where the park is located.
I’m from traverse city, and been going to Michigans adventure since I was kid. It’s a nice park for the area, and for tourist, but for the enthusiasts we obviously have so many parks within a 6 hour radius. I have great America, Indiana beach, holiday world, cedar point, and kings island all within 8 hours of me so I drive there instead!
So I went here when I was a kid back in 1999. I recall liking it. Want to take my son here because the water park looks great and the snoopy kids area also looks fun. Would you recommend this for mainly kids fun ?
You also totally forgot the free addition of the Waterpark section. The food is affordable, the slides are pretty decent, and by the evening the lines are so short you can basically go on shivering timbers multiple times, at least if you do it before the school year gets out for the summer.
So i will be taking my family to the park this year, and my question is. are the rides included in park admission? and fast lane is a separate thing right?
I live near grand rapids and I think most of the water park is the best part especially summertime. They do random water testing thruout the day. They do have a pretty good kids zone water area that my boy really likes
I do agree because I have been here around 2022 for the separate waterpark called WildWater Adventure from this theme park and I gotta say the rides are awesome having Funnel Of Fear the popular slide at Michigan Adventures, I never went on that slide because I felt scared. But yeah thank you for correcting Coaster Studios for his wronging.
I visited this park back in July 2019, and I must say, it is amazing. Took 4 hours to get there from Sandusky, Ohio, where Cedar Point is. This is one of the only videos of Taylor's that I disagree with. Regardless, there are a few rides I didn't like: The Wolverine Wildcat (Too rough in my opinion) Swan Boats (We got caught on the rope, and we had to be pulled off of it by a boat by the employees running it) Corkscrew (Eh...while it was cool, it seemed way too short compared to the Corkscrew at Cedar Point).
I really enjoyed this video! I have been to Michigan Adventures once and am takeing my younger two kids this summer. I think that this is a very fair review and have subscribed to your channel since watching because you give a fair review. So next time I am thinking where to take my kids I will just check out your reviews
I kinda wish Michigan's Adventure stayed a family owned amusement park. They were actually planning on adding a Morgan Hyper Coaster and connecting hotel before Cedar Fair took over.
MA is my home park and I love it. Shivering Timbers is one of my favorite coasters. That being said, if I want big thrills I go to Cedar Point which isn't much farther for me.
Cedar Fair needs to give this park a “Wind Seeker” high ride, a “Skyhawk” swing ride or a “MaxAir” . And a another good coaster like you said……a looper or a “Magnum XL” type coaster.
RMC Wolverine Wildcat (and extend it a bit), and add one of the neglected Intamin giga's like I305 or build a ground-up Intamin like Maverick to Michigan's Adventure, add more hours, add a few good restaurants with good options (not just burgers/fries/pizza/fried tenders) and you'd have a great top tier park.
I went on opening weekend this year. Shivering Timbers and Thunderhawk we're both down. It wasn't busy, and I was able to get multiple rides on all the coasters. But I went back after ST and Thunderhawk we're open, and it definitely makes a difference having those 2 open. So I think some of Taylor's opinions are valid. It Shivering Timbers is elite. Actually planning my 3rd trip this week.
your video was super helpful, im currently recreating this park in planet coaster, and the footage was super helpful (Michigans adventure is one of the highest grossing former cedar fair parks, so until attendance drops there not going to put any investments in
Thanks for this video! We are planning a trip to that area next summer and my kids love amusement parks, so i was looking into it. We live between holiday world and kings island, so we’re a bit biased, but I really appreciate videos like this!
While it is true that Michigan's Adventure may not have the best coaster line-up, especially for coaster fans, but what works for them is that it a park that focus more on the family friendly experience. I do think adding another coaster in next few years can help it out more, as well as more family-friendly improvement.
Michigan adventures is a local fav and that's about it and that's why Cedar Fair bought it and has absolutely no new plans for anything. It's 4 hours from Cedar Point and 4 hours from 6 flags great America. Couldn't buy 6 flags to kill the competition, but can get Michigan adventures.
I've been to Cedar Point on really bad days from overcrowding and understaffing, and those kinds of days can ruin the view of a park that is otherwise phenomenal. With that said, I'm glad you gave the only big amusement park in my state a fighting chance.
Being in the uk I have been watching videos about theme parks and rides in the US and I can’t wait until I can fly over and actually ride some. This park is definitely on my list of parks I want to visit.
I’ve been a few times and love it, you forgot the water park is included in the ticket. I went once when shivering was down so I rode the other ones a few times and my neck hurt for a week. I can see the ride lineup hate. It’s never going to see much investment because it’s a 400 mile round trip to anywhere else with a coaster. The majority of Michigans population are closer to cedar point, I’m all for seeing some investment and spreading the crowds. My daughter loves the place and we live close enough to go all the time now so I’ll already be spending half my summer at the water park. I sure would dig some variety.
Nice review. I liked a lot of what you pointed out. I have to disagree with Shivering Timbers being better than anything at Knott's or King's Island lol. I also have to admit as of two days ago, all of their top three coaster are among the roughest I've ever experienced keeping Timbers FAR from my top three list. I can see it's a great ride, but not in the condition it's in as of June 2024. Front seat is just manageable, but back of the train is a hard no thanks lol. Curious if you have been to Waldameer or Knoebles - both had fantastic wooden coasters with NO potholes. Timers has at least three and the infamous Mean Streak was never anywhere near this rough. The atmosphere was pleasant and nice, but beautiful would be a bit of a stretch of the imagination. Park also lacked interesting/unique food options -- not even fresh cut fries or cheese on a stick! - and had zero live shows and/or attractions. No fun house, haunted house or dark rides?!?!?! It's saving grace is the waterpark and lack of crowds. It's a fun day for sure but falls short of an actual amusement park experience. Cedar Fair (or Six Flags?) doesn't need to build a huge roller coaster or anything but they need to take far better care and pride in those coasters and get REALLY CREATIVE with the rest of the park and whatever budget they have. A great park has to offer something you can not find anywhere else or it falls into the "meh" category. Waldameer and Knoebles are of similar size but somehow pull off a top tier visit Michigan's Adventure can't quite deliver.
I feel like Michigans adventure is my favorite place ever and all the rides are amazing 🤩
Yeah it's lineup would be at least comparable to the other parks with one or two more solid additions.

Ten rides that would make MIA a destination park:
10. Zamperla Disk'o
9. Soaring Eagle Zipline
8. Zamperla Discovery (not a Mega or Giga)
7. Vekoma Family Boomerang
6. S&S Combo Tower
5. RES Swing (I don't know the full name)
4. Intamin Surfrider
3. FunTime Starflyer
2. Gerstlauer Eurofighter replacing Corkscrew
1. Chance Hyper-GTX
a chance hyper-GTX would fit in so well at this park
They need a launch coaster
A few points to make Cedar Fair's lack attention look silly:
1a.) The population of Muskegon County is 173,000 and growing. You cited just the city of Muskegon ;)
1b.) People from Holland and Grand Rapids make day trips to Muskegon/Grand Haven all the time, especially for MI Adventure.
The Park 41.20 Acres (Rides, Waterpark, Walk ways, food areas, etc)
Operations 17.25 Acres (Employee Areas)
Parking 28.15 Acres
Main Pond 9.00 Acres & Other Water 14.88 Acres
There's 550+ Acres of undeveloped land that could be purchased that's contiguous to the existing property.
Thanks for the kind words!
What about airtime thrill's review on shivering timbers??
I've gone to Michigan's adventure for years since I live so close, it's a small park but it's a fun time.
I went after seeing ETR's review but I really couldn't see what he saw in that ride. The Airtime was SO weak, it was a little better in the back but it was so rough that I couldn't enjoy it, also that turn and helix needs more banking, like a lot more, I hate excessive laterals, actually, I hate laterals in general
dont waste your time
I love Michigan’s Adventure, it’s one of my favorite parks!
I live in Muskegon for 31 years (upto to 2021) I enjoy the park.
They also have a great water park, both included.....
You didn't mention the water park that's included in the price. I think that adds so much to the experience.
I had a great visit. Timbers is elite and cracked my top 10. I need to get back there immediately.
Same here! It’s top tier.
Many birthdays, youth group outings, and school events were held here. Michigan's Adventure is a huge staple of my childhood.
Haven't been there in years and I live in Michigan. Never had a bad experience. It's fun. Last time I rode Timbers it had the Trick Track. Now that was fun! Great Video!
It’s a great park to spend a day with your kids without exhausting yourself. Great rides for kids, fun waterpark. I love it.
It’s good to see that this is the first video that pops up when you search “Michigan’s Adventure” on RUclips. Keep up the good work!
I LOVE this park, it’s always so clean and family friendly. Shivering Timbers is my favorite wood coaster.
You're telling me that whiny, overly-critical Taylor and Sarah were wrong about a perfectly good regional park? Boy am I shocked.
I couldn’t have said it better myself!!
It could be better.
Aweosme video! Yeah, the line up apart from Shivering Timbers doesn’t look half that bad! I definitely got to get out here especially when you pointed out those attractions that aren’t even an up charge… almost seems like a steal
Im not sure about daily tickets. They aren't an up charge with the platinum pass
Last time I rode Thunderhawk was at Geauga Lake in 97 or 98
Thunderhawk was surprisingly good. And I agree, fast lane is the way to go.
@@ParkPros Agreed. Best SLC I've ridden.
This is my home park. Although I prefer kennywood, thanks for blowing off some of the hate this area has been getting.
Loved seeing a positive video of Michigan's Adventure. Gem of a little park. Only thing I will say is the gr muskegon metro is 1.3 million. Muskegons suburbs are larger then the city. Muskegons metro is around 150k. Gr Holland and muskegon is well over a million
I'm from Michigan an let me tell you it's the the best park ever.
Cedar Fair, please just give this park a new coaster.
Vekoma Space Warp, it's not that expensive.
Vekoma seems to be operating exclusively overseas but hell, give them Wicked Twister or even a 4D Freespin.
They may get Wicked Twister from Cedar point but who knows really. Just a solid speculation
I’m pretty sure Wicked Twister is going to CGA. It’s too tall for local ordinances, anyway.
I lived in Michigan my whole life and this is one of the best Parks I've ever been to
appreciate this! i live 40 mins away from Michigan’s adventure and while it’s not an amazing park by any means, it really scratches that adrenaline itch with the coasters and water rides. my family and I have platinum passes, but that’s due to it making our cedar point trips cheaper. but regardless, it’s not bad at all for a free trip every week during the summer.
Michigan’s Adventure is my local theme park & I never realized it was so hated. It’s so much fun, I always have a great day when I go!
MA has a great water park included in the price which I'm surprised you didn't talk about.
hi, i agree with you on so many points. i visited mi 4 years ago and had a great time. i live with cp in my back yard so i dont get to the other parks as much as i want, but i did take a 2 day visit to the area and loved it. for anyone else reading this, go if you can and have a great time.
Well said!
Thanks for showing love to the little park near my hometown ❤️
I think he said for wooden coasters ,,
SHIVERING TIMBERS is better than the BEAST , MYSTIC TIMBERS , SCOOBY DOO -- FAIRLY ODD COASTER -- BEASTIE ,, what ever the call it now ....
And I would have to agree with him ,
SHIVERING TIMBERS IS BETTER THAN ANY WOODEN COASTERS AT KINGS ISLAND AND CEDAR POINT ,,
BLUE STREAK is the only one at Cedar Point now ....
@@robertswickard8355 Frankly best woodie at a Cedar Fair park wasn't a particularly high bar to clear. At least until recently. And the only reason that situation has improved is GCI is good at what they do - delivering good rides even if you decide to build small.
Loved this video man. Sounds like a good day!
I live about 5-10 minutes from Michigan adventure, i grew up riding those rides (i rode shivering timbers once and peed myself, i was 8). I love this park and its a great place to go with friends.
I live about 15 mins from my home park.
Last time i was there was 1988... im glad its still open....
As a Michigander who grew up with MI's Adventure, it is most certainly the most underrated park in the chain ngl. Shivering Timbers is a great standout, and if they just took advantage of the other undeveloped half of the park and make a few investments into new rides it could be pretty nice
they have nothing....one okay wood coaster. one alright thunderhawk. rest is the lake and trash
@@DreamofThrills false, they have 2 pretty good woodies for their age, they have 1 good thunderhawk, the best wild mouse in the midwest, and a great waterpark.
@@a3sth3tical ww is so ass. dont be so biased. no amount of titan track can fix that layout. and lol the wild mouse is okay. not worth the line youwill wait for it to run one train at a time....waterpark is outdated 15 years ago

Excellent video as always. Love the breakdown. Will try to get out there next year.
Regardless, there are a few rides I didn't like:
The Wolverine Wildcat (Too rough in my opinion)
Swan Boats (We got caught on the rope, and we had to be pulled off of it by a boat by the employees running it)
Corkscrew (Eh...while it was cool, it seemed way too short compared to the Corkscrew at Cedar Point).
Didn’t you die two centuries ago?
Here before Coaster Studios comments on this video
💀💀💀
I really enjoyed this video! I have been to Michigan Adventures once and am takeing my younger two kids this summer. I think that this is a very fair review and have subscribed to your channel since watching because you give a fair review. So next time I am thinking where to take my kids I will just check out your reviews
I’ve gone here for many years abut I have not gone in 4 years and I have a field trip here and can t wait to be back
I kinda wish Michigan's Adventure stayed a family owned amusement park. They were actually planning on adding a Morgan Hyper Coaster and connecting hotel before Cedar Fair took over.
Very Classy Cole! Great Job!
Thank you! Cheers!
Fun fact- the swan boats were originally at Cedar Point in the pond where Maverick is now!
MA is my home park and I love it. Shivering Timbers is one of my favorite coasters. That being said, if I want big thrills I go to Cedar Point which isn't much farther for me.
Bro, thank you for this video. I pretty much grew up at Michigan adventure. It peeves me off seeing people saying negative stuff about it.
Cedar Fair needs to give this park a “Wind Seeker” high ride, a “Skyhawk” swing ride or a “MaxAir” . And a another good coaster like you said……a looper or a “Magnum XL” type coaster.
i'm greatfull to have it as my home park!
I live in muskegon and i go here often. It isn’t great but does the job for a fun summer day and is kinda the only good thing we got around here
I went on opening weekend this year.
I'm going to Michigan adventures and it's the best I went last year also🎉😊❤
your video was super helpful, im currently recreating this park in planet coaster, and the footage was super helpful
(Michigans adventure is one of the highest grossing former cedar fair parks, so until attendance drops there not going to put any investments in
Thanks for this video! We are planning a trip to that area next summer and my kids love amusement parks, so i was looking into it. We live between holiday world and kings island, so we’re a bit biased, but I really appreciate videos like this!
I go here all the time I love this place!
He’s never been on ripe cord
I love Michigan adventure!!!
And you didn’t even talk about all the water rides I got
While it is true that Michigan's Adventure may not have the best coaster line-up, especially for coaster fans, but what works for them is that it a park that focus more on the family friendly experience. I do think adding another coaster in next few years can help it out more, as well as more family-friendly improvement.
Deer Park!
Shivering Timbers above Ghostrider, Beast, and Mystic Timbers?!? 😳
Yes to all three
Michigan adventures is a local fav and that's about it and that's why Cedar Fair bought it and has absolutely no new plans for anything.
With that said, I'm glad you gave the only big amusement park in my state a fighting chance.
for your top 3 you should include Outlaw Run in Silver Dollar City! Really fun ride!
This park needs a B&M hyper that duals and interacts with Shivering Timbers
That would be so sick. They definitely have the space for it.
@@ParkPros but sadly, not the budget
@@NorthEasternMotionProductions Not only that but Michigan adventure has a height limit of less than 200 feet. This is my home park.
@@latoyamcdonald4444 also a coaster that big would make Shivering Timbers look less appealing
@@NorthEasternMotionProductions that's a very good point. The 70th anniversary is in like 2 or 3 years. Hopefully we get something good for it.
Being in the uk I have been watching videos about theme parks and rides in the US and I can’t wait until I can fly over and actually ride some. This park is definitely on my list of parks I want to visit.
May I ask why? It only has one stand-out attraction.
Michigan aventurine the best place I've ever been
Nice review.
