There are 24,000 "thumbs up on this video"; 680 (now 681 with mine) comments and not one "thumbs down". Now in the world we live in this is testimony to the love of one man!
Hallo 🆘 Mother and Father of all creation are here in physical flesh showing the way to healing it's been an ardous journey reaching you with a message, please phone home today 🎉
The news about John has absolutely killed me. I've listened to John Prine literally all my life. He's not just a musician, he's one of our greatest poets and I take solace in many of his words of wisdom. I'm praying for John's recovery. John Prine is one of the greatest story tellers of all time and I'm so grateful I know his music.
You're not alone. There is crying all around. But he's a fighter. I'm praying that he fights this virus and gets better to write another song . Peace, love and health be with you Brother. ✌💞🎶🙏 KEH 🇨🇦
What I love about this video is how happy all of these other artists seem to be in his presence. Folks who have earned their keep just seem so honored to share this space with him.
This video shows how much John was loved by his fellow musicians from a younger generation. Margo Price , Sturgill Simpson, Amanda Shires, Dave Cobb, Jason Isbell Jerry Pentecost on drums are just a few of the Nashville musicians seen in this video. I'm so glad Fiona Prine go him into the studio and we are now blessed with one more John Prine album to enjoy, listen and cry to. The loss of this one person made me feel the pain of all who have lost someone in this pandemic tragedy. They better have that cocktail ready because John Prine is going to heaven and it has nothing to do with a flag decal but the love he gave us all.
Hello 👋 I really like your profile picture and if you let me, I would make such an amazing mural out of it! If you don’t mind one of your pictures could be my inspiring muse for an art project i’m working on for a client. You will totally get paid for it as well as a bonus also get credits.
John Prine was the Studs Terkel of Country Music...whether main street or back street, he had a song for us all...from the beginning to the end his songs drew from the well of the human heart with a simple but profound view of the realities of life.
Can’t say this enough, the world is so much less of a place without this man in it. Don’t know if there’s a heaven but John was an angel when he was here
This will always be the song I come to when I’m feeling down and out… there is nothing more hopeful to me than knocking on a screen door in the summertime… and I cannot wait for my next screen door! Thank you, John Prine!
I told god, this one is just too much. I've been writing and crying and then laughing at John's lyrics, which I know is how he would deal with this sadness if he were doing it for us. His words are as down and real as it gets, which is why people across the spectrum have identified with him. I'm keeping a little diary of these times, and the last few days entries are titled, John Prine and Corona. I think he'd like that he was matched up with a wo-man with such a pretty name. Thanks, John. See you again.
I've said it before and I will continue to Tell anyone who will listen, that John prine is and has all ways been a musical genius, love this man's music down to my deepest part of my soul, he saved my life on a few different occasions and he doesn't even know it. Thank you and God bless you Mr. Prine
I see many of us still get what John Prine has to say. All my albums are in storage right now. It's nice to listen online. Thanks to everyone who posts videos so I can still hear truth. Wonderful!
Just a thought I had when watching this video--John is surrounded by some truly phenomenal musicians here, who all appear to be having the time of their lives. Still John shines through as the star and the happiest of them all. I miss you JP
I can’t tell you how much this mans music has meant to me over the years. I have laughed with him and cried with him. God bless you John and thank you for a lifetime of memories.
Grew up listening to JP when my dad played his music, I was just a kid but grew up to love the man and his music. You can see from the comments of this and other videos that the man was loved and is missed so much. Nice to see the stars of modern country come out in this video and show appreciation for him. RIP Mr Prine, much love from Northern Ireland.
Can't even begin to say how much I miss John Prine, but his music and humor will be with us forever. Does anyone know the musicians here --- I just recognize a few. Sturgill Simpson looks like the happiest man on the planet in this :) I am so glad those 2 got to make music together ! Obviously John was a master at whatever he put his mind to --- at 2:18 he banks the 13 ball cross-side like it was nothing :)
I saw Manhattan Transfer in the early 1970s at the Fillmore East. They were an opening act for another band I was seeing that evening. I had never heard of them before but I became a lifelong fan that night. Everything they sang was done impeccably.
I watch this video today a tear after his death and still feel the loss of John, John always said "most everyone wants to go to heaven, just not right now." A great American songwriter and singer. Like others, many of his songs will live on as well recognized as songs from artists like Stephen Foster, Woodie Guthrie, Hank Williams, Merle Haggard, Tom Petty, Brian Wilson. Beethovens of our time. Sure glad he left us a treasure chest of tunes crafted with words to rhyme, define, sing, and experience our being. Thanks for being among us John as long as you could...........
His lyrics are simple genius. I don't know if the beating our hearts experience gets any easier as more & more of these icons of vinyl & the background music of our lives slip away. But by God, they help me love the life I live. Thanks for your gift to us all John. Rest now, say hello to Pete for me!
In the name of Jesus this great man needs to be healed . We need him on this corrupt, devastated planet more than you need him God! You have many great ones please leave the legend right here where he is loved and loves! Thank you Lord Amen
I can hear the train track thru the laundry on the line. Growing up right beside the train tracks for 47 years I can truly relate to this song as well as so many of John's other songs. I miss this guy and his music. One of the best singer songwriter ever. Thanks man you can bring a tear to my eye and make laugh all in the same song. Great music.
John Prine is the best of the best, up there with Woodie Guthrie; the treasures he left us will continue to be discovered for decades to come. May eternal light shine upon him and may he smoke that cigarette that’s 9 miles long. We miss you.
Never got to see John and his band live, but have had,and continue to take great pleasure listening to,and watching his concerts etc.a very humble man who shares his gift and talent for future.god bless John and his family.peace from scotland🙏🥁🙊
Prine is one of the most humorous musical commentary artists alive. Listen to what he says. I channel him in some of my original comps. Long live John.
I miss you John. I only discovered your music in 2017, at 28 years old, but I'm sure it'll be with me for the rest of my life. I wish I could have gotten to see you perform in this life, but it's just one of those things.. his death from covid is still the one which has personally affected me the most.
My dad always listened to John Prine. I went to a concert with him at the Palace Theater here in Louisville to see him. A Great memory of hanging with dad.
It is very hard to find the right words of solace to express the loss of John Prine. He is the rarest of artists who's life's work was so full of songs, stories , jokes and warmness . And wonderful words that we could wrap around us like our best family quilt to keep out the cold nights.
Almost always wish his songs were longer, but as he says, makes a million of them to make up for it. You go John and friends! Another vote for "National treasure".
RIP John Prine. It's been a tad over a year now since you passed. And you're still sorely missed by all. Thank You for leaving us all of your wonderful tunes. I'll be seeing ya up there before too long John....until then, keep 'em all singing.
Beautiful. This is PURE "Snapshot"/Poetic/Kodachrome/N.Rockwell/ American Gothic with a joint and a shot of liquor, or just come as you are type Folk Americana badassery that is John Prine, as Great as it's ALWAYS Been! Love you John!

He does, and it is. His songs will always be with us .
John Prine has always put a smile on my face.
in his songs when he is feeling good he reachs under the dash for that sweet potato wine lol

Both from Chicago. Both champions for the common folk.
