    That's absolutely correct! SSA representatives do give invalid information. I had to aggressively pursue my rightful benefits. I filed online and followed up with my local office and was told at my local SSA by 2 green reps that I was ineligible for survivor spouse benefits, and they sent me a letter stating that. All of this occurred after I forwarded all necessary legal documents (which they lost). I appealed the decision and only got it afterwards. Exhausted and stressed but perservered. You Tube channels like this prepared me for my filing and benefit eligibility requirements. Thank you Dr. Ed. 🎉

      Please make sure to call your two Senators and your Representative and make it known that you will not be voting for them in the future if they vote for any bills that will allow for retirement age to be raised, or benefits to be cut.
      Also make sure that they know that you want them to vote instead on a bill to get rid of the income cap on FICA taxes. By making everyone at every level of income pay their fair share, we can save the program for generations.

      I hear you!!! I worked until I could no longer do so. It took me 3 years to finally get approved for SSD. If it were not for my friend and my parent's help, I would not have made it through that 3 year dry spell. After all that time working full time jobs to support my daughter and myself, now they are going to cut my benefits. I worked really hard and often had a second job to make ends meet. This is out-and-out wrong!!!!!! It will not be long before folks will learn to vote for Democrats. This last term with Trump will teach voters to vote for Democrats because they care more about folks like me who need the Disability benefits.

      Although that did decrease the number of people collecting benefits a bit, especially in the older generations, many of the deceased might still have a surviving spouse collecting their benefit at this point.
      There were also a very significant number of middle-aged and younger people who were taken by the pandemic, reducing the number workers who were paying into the system. And many of them would have minor children who now qualify for benefits on the deceased parents records.
      And then there were the people who decided to retire early because of the pandemic, who went from being workers paying into the system to beneficiaries collecting from the system.
      So overall, it didn't end up being a significant enough drop in what is being paid out to save the program long-term

I've also seen on different platforms though that, this program is not the same, everywhere. Dr Oz maybe a proponent of Medicare Advantage for all, but AOC has said many times that she wants Medicare for all. And we all know that Medicare only covers 80% with a 20% Unlimited liability for the covered person. So it's not just Republicans who are talking about these things!

    • @TakenTook
      @TakenTook 10 часов назад +1

      It's not about liberal vs. conservative, or about Democrat vs. Republican. The key difference in the issue with Dr. Oz is the word "advantage" -- because the advantage plans are basically a very strict HMO that covers (most of) that other 20% of costs, while the "supplement" plans that people purchase separately from their Medicare part A and part B coverage in order to cover most of that other 20% of costs are more like old-fashioned point of service insurance, where you don't have to worry about whether or not the doctor is in your network, etc.
      Both advantage plans and supplement plans fall under part D in terms of the drug coverage. And supplement plans are definitely more pricey, and sometimes too expensive for many retirees who end up having no choice but to take an advantage plan.
      I don't think Dr. Ed is trying to be ultra liberal. He just wants politicians who will be looking out for the American people and helping to protect Social Security and Medicare as opposed to privatizing it and giving all the money to Wall Street.
