LOUDDEERRR!!!! always! god I much prefer the edited version of my videos, but i hope you enjoy an uncut version! if you would like more uncut reactions there's heaps more up on my patreon right now - link in desc!! :)
edit: i've never received so many views on a video within the first hour! thank you for all the support!!
fear of the dark and phantom of the opera are good songs from iron maiden I recommend listening to them next time. also I prefer the cut reactions no need for uncut reactions in my opinion its better for your patreon but that's my honest opinion
@@wow8255 yep i plan for majority of my videos on YT to be cut versions because i prefer them too. just wanted to test the waters and see how the algorithm responds to this one
@@kirawasareactor I hope the algorithm shows you mercy
Weird that anyone would prefer the cut versions but hey, we’re all different. I like uncut because it is more of a mix of your behaviour :-). When you cut the videos it’s all hyper all the time;-)
I'm a huge fan of the first Maiden albums up to (but not including) Fear Of The Dark. I can't wait for you to get to Metallica and Megadeth!
Their whole 80s is pure gold! Try The Rime of the Ancient Mariner.
Came here just to suggest Rime of The Ancient Mariner!
RIP Samuel Taylor Coleridge. He would have loved the Powerslave album.
agreed. my two most favorite Maiden albums are Somewhere in Time (86) and seventh son of a seventh son (88). When I was younger I had this idea that all 80s music was garbage, but oh boy was I way wrong.
I always expect to hear Rime of the Ancient Mariner right after hearing Powerslave
13 minutes of power and beauty. One of my favourite Maiden tracks.
I don't get the hype around The Rime of the Ancient Mariner. Its so weird and probably the only song from them that I personally don't really like. But its all subjective :)
I appreciate so much that you’re honest about whether you actually like stuff, like your difficulties with Bruce’s voice at first. A lot of reactors pretend they think everything is amazing right away for the cameras and it makes the whole thing feel fake!
oh yea I can't fake liking things really... might sound cheesy but music is too precious to me lol
@@kirawasareactor Aces High and Wasted Years should be added to a list for a future video.
Bruce's voice does often take a bit of getting used to. His voice is amazing, but atypical of most metal singers, so it is a grower. By the same token, Asami from Lovebites (who is often compared to Bruce in terms of style) similarly takes a few listens to get into, but once you do, her voice is incredible!
Bruce's voice is a hit or miss for many, I include myself in there but his voice has grown on me a little bit with time.
@@garykeeling2275 : The same could be said of Brittney Slayes, the lead vocalist for Unleash the Archers. Fun fact: Brittney has said Bruce is one of her mentors.
HOW DO I MAKE THIS LOUDER?? Yeah...that made me smile
She's a natural born metalhead. She just didn't know 'till she tried. (BTW: Kiss fan here too)
Hallowed Be Thy Name is my favorite Iron Maiden song!! It's such a masterpiece.
yea what a great performance too wow
Ditto,I’ve seen maiden twice too
Jamie Thomas' s choosing this track for his skateboarding track in 1996 introduced Maiden to a whole new generation.
yes ian, it is the best, studio or live
Bruce Dickinson’s voice is very operatic and he tends to tell stories and have meaningful lyrics. His vocal style definitely does polarise people but we Maiden fans love Bruce “Air-Raid-Siren” Dickinson and his soaring vocals. Up the Irons!!
Ah, good. Someone said "Air-raid siren". Lol, I was gonna if I didn't see it in the first 10, 12 comments...
How could you not love that voice... If you approach any band on their terms (as you should), you literally can't deny his voice... What I mean by "on their terms": You should go in with an open mind and trying to understand what their followers see in them. And weither you'll be one of their followers doesn't matter, you can still appreciate the skill or appeal to others...
Maiden tends to grow on you once you get into the theatrical nature of their songs.
especially with Bruce’s vocals, it’s as if you’re watching these breathtaking stories
THIS IS IRON MAIDEN BABY!!!!!!!
⚡👊🏻⚡
UP THE IRONS!
Whenever I listen to Iron Maiden, so does my whole neighborhood.
Iron Maiden... whats not to love? You get the triple axe attack of Davey Adrian and Janick, Nicko fuckin Mcbain on the Drums, Bruces vocals, and the legendary Steve Harris on bass and writing most of the songs. Its basically a supergroup at this point.
Hallowed Be Thy Name is probably one of the best songs ever
It's a great one but it seems kind of basic compared to some of their later epics like Seventh Son.
Iron maiden, my first metal band. This is where it all begun
UP THE IRONS!
Welcome to the club sister.
I think you'll like the earlier albums with Di'Anno as well, more of a punky and 70s sound, and the bass on Phantom of the Opera is life changing.
yep ok i've heard about Di'Anno. 70s usually rules for me... life changing bass? omg
First three LPs... another league! Beautiful! There are a couple of live videos of that era on the tube...check them out. Di'anno, Dickinson and the best maiden drummer, clive burr, at their top
@@kirawasareactor Definitely recommend Strange World for a 70s feel, underrated song, really chill vibe, amazing bass once again
@@andrijastarcevic1006 I honestly don't understand why people don't rate strange world. Such a chill track with beautiful solos and Vocals. One of my favourite maiden songs.
Iron Maiden's first album came out in 1980 and really helped set the tone for a lot of 80s metal, in my opinion; so saying it has a "70s sound" doesn't really make sense to me.
Early maiden you need to check out:
Phantom of the opera
Remember tomorrow
Strange world
yep yep and yep
Also Killers, Drifter and Prodigal Son.
Three of Maidenˋs best songˋs there
One of the things I love about Iron Maiden is they have always (and still do) give 150% energy in their live performances. Bruce always seems to me to become the character in the songs as he is singing, and Steve Harris is the master of the galloping bassline. I became a fan in the early 80's, and I still am now 40 years later :-)
Can't go wrong with Maiden, and especially not with Hallowed Be Thy Name. Such an amazing song
Maiden is a sing-along band. Everyone sings every word of every song at their shows.
Agree
The 82' LIVE performance is a perfect display of Bruce's UNMATCHED vocals and the bands all around synchronicity. One of very few PERFECT performances 👌
Bruce Dickinson = Air Raid Siren. They may yet take the Legacy of the Beast Tour to Australia, nothing beats an Iron Maiden show for pure joy.
God I hope they do make Australia, I am waiting for this.
@@cyberdan42 found out the shows in Europe have been put back a year and my are flights cancelled so into 2022 now. That will be a 3 year wait since the last time we went.
@@Dibbdroid Yeah, the global shit show handling of the Pandemic has pretty much ensured it will be years before I see a world class foreign tour in Australia I fear. Had tickets for a half dozen shows in 2020, at least I got one, Jinjer which howled. But sweet damn I miss the live shit and I'm too damn old to wait around.
@@cyberdan42 I know what you mean, usually get to 40 gigs a year and it's been over a year since the last one. Stir crazy!!!
Yesss they will come here in amsterdam soon i hope
Let's not forget wasted years!! In fact,
I recommend doing a full album reaction to "Somewhere in Time"!!!
i've added it to the list! the plan is that i eventually get to everything haha
I really wouldn't bother.
@@philjones45 Your not a MetalHead!
@@philjones45 Hey Somewhere in Time isn't among my favorites from Maiden (those would be Brave New World, 7th Son of a 7th Son, Powerslave, Piece Mind...) but you can't deny that Somewhere in Time is a brilliant album!
@@VictorHernandez-dd5ls oh yes I am, but don't like Maiden, there's plenty of us around. It's not illegal you know. Dreadful repetitive band.
IMO, Bruce's voice elevates everything the band does.
I had the same haircut in 1990, too. We'll have to make you an honorary Bruce.
I also sported that hairstyle for a while in the early 2010's!
And next ALEXANDER THE GREAT, THE LONGEST DAY, MONSEGUR, PASCHENDALE, THE CLANSMAN, ACES HIGH, STRANGER IN THE STRANGE LAND and so many more. Live THEY are unbelievable.
Must do Flight of Icarus, Wratchchild (original album version)
noted thanks
Dance of Death..... It's pure magic and the melody is so haunting❤️❤️❤️
Iron Maiden is always best served live. Rime of the Ancient Mariner (flight 666 live) and The Clansman (live Rock in Rio) are 2 awesome performances that immediately come to mind for a completely live Iron Maiden reaction :)
Absolutely disagree, I always thought Maiden never really sounds as great live.
Especially for a first listen I would highly advice against any live versions.
Steve Harris is one of my God-tier rock bassists, along with Geddy Lee, John Entwistle, Chris Squire and Geezer Butler.
the Guv'nor was one of the reasons I took up bass, he is one of the VERY best
Steve is the best in the business
Billy Sheehan and Justin Chancellor are great too!
And don't forget Les Claypool. :)
I am actually fortunate enough to have seen The Who while John Entwistle was still with the band. (1989, to be specific. 25th year anniversary tour, road-tripped to see them in Vancouver). Definitely enjoyed *that* show, you can be sure. lol.
@@kevsim70 I'd also put in Victor Wooten as well, he is just mind blowing
Don't worry, it took me a while to get into Bruce's voice too, I like that you are being honest!!
thank you :D
His voice is one of the most difficult voice to like at first, but when you dig it its an amazing voice. UP THE IRONS!
I'm from Brazil and I love Iron Maiden... I'm loving your videos... congratulations on the work....
"Hallowed Be Thy Name" is one of my top five metal songs ever. What an absolute thrill of a track.
I personally prefer the cut versions over this full upload, but to each their own.
yesssss cut versions!! i agree!
I'd say hallowed be thy is my favourite song of all time.
Oh, my favourite band, I need to give my recommendations! I'd say Phantom of the Opera, Rime of the Ancient Mariner, Seventh Son of a Seventh Son, Sign of the Cross, Brave New World, Ghost of the Navigator, Dance of Death, Brighter than a Thousand Suns, and Empire of the Clouds, it's an amazing and fantastic band, you should listen to more of it!!!!
Oh, and an album recommendations for you to listen it as a whole, Seventh Son of a Seventh Son, it's simply amazing!!
awesome thank you for the recommendations!
This was your best video so far. Like the format better. Having the whole song gives you space to explain what you like and not like as much and also time to be entertaining.
There is an All female cover/tribute band called the Iron Maidens...Nita Strauss came out of that band, then played with Alice Cooper. Now she's a solo arrist!!!! 🎸 🎸 Check out Iron Maidens. Nita is 🔥 🎸 I'm going to see her Live in February!!
20:33 "I'm obsessed with this" - My words back in those days.😁 Everytime I see people enjoy Iron Maiden and discovering their best songs, I reflect on my fist time exploring their songs, what a great experience. I really like your fresh and heartfelt reactions - great to see someone really enjoying this fantastic music!
Your unedited videos are just fine! Great job. Iron Maiden are a must see live in concert band.
Finally! Thank you for some Maiden!! Wasted Years next!
welcome!! ok noted
You rock! 🤘😎
Yes! Another one of my faves. Always gives me a serious case of "the feels", that one.
I saw Iron Maiden in 1982 at the Summer Strut concert at Anaheim Stadium with 80k people, years later saw the Somewhere in Time concert in the Sports Arena in San Diego, we had lower level seats stage right, and Dave Murray came out on the floor in front of the P.A. speakers just below us, and I screamed, "Dave Murray!", waving. He waved back, and our section went nuts.
Iron Maiden live, for me,is an experience never forgotten,I can't listen to studio albums anymore, live is a whole different world 🎼🎵🎵🎶🎶❤️
Purgatory by Iron Maiden album version is amazing
Double that, also Prodigal Son....the whole Killers album in fact.
You HAVE to listen to Aces High based on what you liked here, it's off from the Poweslave album also.
I want to listen to that whole album honestly lol
@@kirawasareactor you're going to thank yourself so much after doing a full Powerslave listen! :D
Honestly, you really should. I struggled with Bruce's voice at first too, but Powerslave was the album that convinced me. I still don't class myself as a huge Maiden fan, but Powerslave is one of my favourite albums anyway, and the Rime of the Ancient Mariner specifically one of my favourite songs of all time.
Yesss, the long awaited Maiden! 50 percent of the reason I love them so much is the live experience. I like their music of course, but seeing them live, singing along, and the way that Bruce and the rest of the band engage and play with the audience is what really makes the band so special to me. Thanks so much for all the reactions, Kira ^_^
I got to see Iron Maiden live back in 2007 on their Golden Years tour as a birthday present when I was in high school! Even though by that point Iron Maiden were no longer in their prime years by that point, they were still the greatest concert I have ever been to! And also the nicest crowd I've ever been a part of! Iron Maiden really brought everyone together! Everyone in that crowd treated me like I was a long lost friend even though we were all strangers! And also I was in the back of the stadium against a load bearing pole but they made me feel like I was front row! I recommend their performance of Rime of the Ancient Mariner live from that tour! It was the first time I heard it and I felt lucky that seeing it live like that is the best that song ever sounded to me!!
I love how genuine you are Kira. I hope you never hold yourself just because you are being watched by a lot of people. Keep being you, cause that's what's best in your channel!
"Before we jump into Iron Maiden..." lol
Haha!
Thank God! A full reaction! Up The Irons! (Something we Maiden fans say, to say Iron Maiden is awesome , put up your metal sign)
I forgot how much I loved that Powerslave riff
One of the best concerts I have ever seen was the 1988 Monsters of Rock, Donington Park where Iron Maiden headlined during their tour of Seventh Son of a Seventh son album. The sound of a 100k Maiden fans jumping up and down during Running Free, I will always remember.
That's legendary.
They were astonishing on that tour. I saw them at the German Leg of the Monsters of Rock, with Kiss, David Lee Roth, Dokken, Helloween and i think, Pretty Maids? They blew everyone away and played for two hours at least
You should definitely check out Iron Maiden - The Talisman (Live En Vivo), for some newer maiden, and you will appreciate his voice even more!
He still has that energy now, flies the 747 that takes the band and crew to all the events and he is in his late 60s
As a bass player.. I can NOT tell you how amazing it is to have reactors acknowledge its presence and power in the song!! And I love yours reactions as well!
Haha you were *giddy* halfway through "Hallowed." Was awesome that you connected with the music so much. I like both this format and the more heavily edited one--pros and cons to both.
Time for some old school Maiden soon 😎
Dianno, Burr and Stratton era.
Try phantom of the opera, transylvania and Remember tomorrow. 👍
This is probably one of Clive Burr's last drum performances. Afterwards he was replaced by Nicko McBrain and on the next album (piece of mind) he was the drummer. My opinion is that the style of the two is very similar, including who indicated Nicko was Clive himself, who switched bands with him. Nicko was from the Trust and went to Iron Maiden and Clive was from Maiden and went to the Trust.
"How do I make this louder!" ...Congratulations, you've reached max level.
*Slayer - Angel of Death, Raining Blood, South of Heaven and Seasons in the Abyss*
Hi kira definitely need Fear of the dark on your next reaction, how about a live uncut version of Catch the rainbow from Rainbow On Stage and Mistreated from Munich 77
You rock deary. We started listening to Maiden in 1983. We were into Rush too. We’d jump on beds and using tennis rackets as air guitars. I was 14. Our reactions were no different thsn your reaction. Thanks for keeping rock n roll alive.
Kira, something I would suggest is looking up the voice isolated tracks that are on youtube :).
Caught Somewhere in Time and Alexander the Great are probably my all time favourite track by Iron Maiden... both great for reaction I'd say :)
That live video is nothing compared to the energy they put into their shows now even though they're in their 60s. There's so much more maiden for you to discover.
Bruce has a very unique voice. Very different style of singing to most metal singers. He has more of an opera style to it than the shouty style more commonly associated to metal. Personally, I love his voice. His range is wild. But I wouldn't expect everyone to as each to their own 😂 great reaction
I like this format. Complete song at the lower volume level with your immediate reactions happening in real time, louder than the music.
Get the viewers addicted to the uncut format but then upload them only in patreon after a while. Stonks!
cheeeky cheeky. i'll definitely be keeping my eyes on this video and see how it goes, can upload some more uncut videos to youtube here and there
@@kirawasareactor personally I like both formats so it's all great
Fear of the Dark live in Rio is still one of the best live videos I've ever seen!!
My first concert when I was 15 was Iron Maiden doing that tour for that album. I saw them in June 1983 in Seattle.
I big part of metal's draw is it gives us an outlet to release pent up energy. Never be ashamed of it, embrace it \m/
Trust me on this one... Savatage, the most underrated heavy/progressive metal band of all times. Hall of the mountain king, Legions, Sirens, all crazy songs and their later stuff like Wake of Magellian or Poets and Madman albums are just insane. Oh also the contrast between 2 singers Jon and Zach.
I think i do trust you! too many people have mentioned Savatage for me to ignore it any longer! better start planning where they're going to fit into the schedule..
@@kirawasareactor That would be bloody great! Also non cut reactions are better in my humbe opinion. :)
@@kirawasareactor Savatage is such an awesome band!
Piece of Mind is one of my favorite albums ever. Nice choices and I'm surprised that you chose Powerslave. Not saying that it's a bad song in any way shape or form. but an interesting pick I guess I could say. Iron Maiden is my favorite band of all time so I'm glad to see you react to them.
bro power slave is maidens best song idc what anybody says
I was having a rough day but listening to iron maiden right now made me feel happy to be alive. God I love this so fucking much. I'm glad you enjoyed it too.
Watching this young lady reminds me of me 24 years ago when i discovered Iron Maiden for a first time. I just found the channel and this is the 1st video i'm watching, but i assume that i won't be disappointed and i will subscribe.
Why not do a Nightwish reaction and welcome the Nightwish Army into your life? ;-) They are a top group, great vocals, great stories, great drums, brilliant bass, and a singer you won't believe, and a keyboard player who is the Mozart of Metal music.
for Metallica, be sure to listen to Whiplash and Creeping Death (live from Moscow, if you want to see the definition of 'big crowd')
Anybody here see the Powerslave tour? That moment when the band comes back to the main riffs still sends chills up my arms: a gigantic Eddie with his arms reaching over the stage out to the audience with flames shooting from his eyes! That's still one of the most classic theatrical moves any band has ever done.
I think Twisted Sister opened in Seattle. 198x
@@bothellkenmore Yes, same down here at [scream for me] Long Beach arena. Then 4-5 months later they played Irvine with Accept and W.A.S.P.! Two of the best shows I've ever seen.
P.S. '85.
Yeah it looks like my show was Dec 1984. I remember smuggling the camera lens in for my new friend and journalism classmate in high school, he smuggled in the SLR body so he could shoot pics. Back then there were 2 lines to enter, body frisk or metal detector so we went frisk which was basically a visual. He got some great pics, hope you're doing well David M wherever u are!
Your right! Powerslave is such a perfect metal song!🔥🤘
"The bass..."
Well... Why don't you start learning it?
i've been learning bass for the last couple years. i suck at it. much better at piano.. but i try. i'll try and remember to show my bass in an upcoming video
Im a bass player myself and i cannot agree more !! 😎
@@kirawasareactor I play bass too, and i'm ok, but much better at violin and viola. I need to work on my bass much more!
@@kirawasareactor , it's do, or not to. Don't have try, like Master Yoda says. There's only one way to suck at the bass: IT'S WHEN YOU DON'T PLAY IT.
A cool thing about Iron Maiden is that Steve Harris (the bass player) writes almost everything. However this eventually lead to Bruce Dickinson feeling like he wasn't contributing enough, so Steve agreed for Bruce to write a lot of the lyrics for the Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son album, which is my absolute favourite by them. They take it a lot more progressive sounding than previously and it's just a great album. Powerslave is a close second favourite album of mine.
Oooo interesting I'll have to check it out!
You're wrong. Bruce wanted to make an acoustic album as the follow up to powerslave but Steve was against the idea and said the songs were poor. That hit Bruce hard and that's why there's no songs written by him on somewhere in time. When it came to writing 7th son Steve told Bruce his idea and it inspired him to write the songs for that album.
Iron Maiden is truly amazing live. They are one of the few bands that sound as good live as they do on their studio albums.
If you like Bruce's voice, I suggest some of his solo work. Bruce singing Jerusalem with Ian Anderson playing flute is breathtaking.
I enjoyed your reaction to a song to which i have been listening ever since it was first performed in 1982... your gestures were as genuine as we were then
Thank you, kirawasareactor! An old, grizzled metal head owes you a great debt for this video!
I first encountered Iron Maiden with 'Live After Death' at about 14 or so. I was just coming off the back of seeing Motley Crue on the 'Girls, Girls, Girls', tour (Guns n' Roses opening, great show!). Big into hair metal. Big fan of Motley, big fan of Ratt, big fan of Poison (and will defend each to the death, so come at me, you bastards!) Jamming the tape into my Walkman (ask your parents!), I remember my young teenage mind being blasted to pieces (^_~) by Iron Maiden's musicianship, Bruce's soaring tenor and their dark (seemed like that at the time), raucous, horror-show imagery. This was something new. Something dangerous. This was like the first time reaching out for the flame and getting gloriously burned.
That was many, many moons ago. Thank you for making this old man remember being fourteen again.
UP THE IRONS!!!!!!
Your ok, with what you say, don't be embarrassed!!! Thats the beauty of METAL, METAL FANS,(at least TRUE metal fans just want you TO BE YOU!) Don't say I'm sorry for you being YOU!!! Thats what makes our community the best, nobody is afraid of what others think. We just SAY IT!!! And, it's AMAZING how much dialog gets opened in such an environment. So, in closing, your great how you are, don't change NOTHING. THE ONLY THING we need to change is, WE GOTTA get you saying "UP THE IRONS!", then your good to go!!!!
"Metal needs to be loud in the ear!" a truer statement has never been stated
The lyrics and the art go hand in hand with the music. Eddie makes a great action figure. Haha.
Maiden was very special. Their music will stand the test of time.
Powerslave was the first Maiden album I ever heard. My reaction was EXACTLY the same as yours. Love it. Up the irons
Up The Irons!!! Looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow.
Me and a few buds drove for 10 hours in a PoS 64 valiant to see the The Beast of the Road Tour in 82. The four of us were so sore from the drive that we were afraid we'd have trouble standing but a little self medication and a good sleep in our hotel and we were all good to go. Watching Bruce in person less then 20 feet from you is something you never forget... he's a vocal god.
Also went to The World Slavery Tour in 84, same damn car, the Somewhere on Tour in 87 and honestly wish I could have caught more but wife, kids work and such always got in the way, lol.
Honestly, if I fell to Earth just now, I would want you as a guide. Wonderful reaction 🥰
If you love Iron Maiden you should check out their 3 part documentary. They are just ordinary, likeable blokes with God given talent and hard graft. The best metal band ever. They set the standard. Love your reactions. :)
Bruce has the most iconic voice in metal history in my opinion
Iron Maiden truly excels at storytelling, especially with their more historically inspired songs. Run to the Hills, Aces High, Passchendaele, Alexander the Great, The Clansman, and many others that really make me feel I was there seeing it firsthand! Maiden and Sabaton have introduced me to some of the most epic and tragic moments of so many countries!
There you have it from the first note the hook gets you that’s the power of 80s heavy metal 🤘
I saw you in a reaction compilation and your energy was absolutely contagious! I love it! Time to watch through a bunch of your reactions!
P.s. I also play bass and Iron Maiden was a HUGE influencer for me to start pushing myself! Love this band!
5 Times seeing them live.. Iron Maiden is great live band.. fear of the dark in rock in rio.. when audience is extra instrument of band..
She's so adorable 🥰. Keep it up chicky. I love your enthusiasm.
welcome to our world of metalheads,,love your reactions so genuine ,,,good luck
A couple of others you might want to react to:-
2 Minutes to midnight
Run to the hills
Harris's bass is the center, of their music. Storytelling progressive metal is what Maiden is about.
Kira, I found your Channel yesterday, and I couldn’t be happier to come across a diamond of a channel!
Up the Irons!! Welcome to the flock!!
There are so many eras of Maiden to explore, there's the first era with Paul Dianno on vocals, then this one, then there was the 90's era, you can skip Blaze on vocals and not miss anything x factor and virtual xI, then there's the 2000's era with Bruce and Adrian back and became a 3 guitar piece from which the live performances are amazing and beautifuly recorded. My favourite songs are Infinite Dreams from the 7th son album, still life and revelations from piece of mind, and my favourite concerts live at Donington, Rock in Rio and route 666. Have a blast and keep on rocking!!
I presume that that's live from the Hammersmith Apollo? Legendary venue. The best of the best all wanted/want to perform there.
