- My FIRST TIME listening and reacting to RAINBOW! A band highly recommended to me after enjoying DIO in my last video! This was so much fun. Thanks everyone for supporting my reaction videos so much. In this video I react to the songs Stargazer, Man on the Silver Mountain, Catch the Rainbow and Kill the King! So great to capture my first time listening to Rainbow. What beautiful heavy metal and hard rock fusion!! Ronnie James Dio and and Ritchie Blackmore are CRAZY! and Long Live Bob Daisley / Jimmy Bain / Craig Shriner ??

Hey everyone! RAINBOW is such an amazing band, thanks to everyone that recommended them! What should I react to next??
I don't even care who you listen to next, your presentation and reaction is perfect =D I particularly like the 3 song format for each artist. If you feel like exploring power/fantasy metal, give Gloryhammer a try! I would recommend "Gloryhammer" "Unicorn invasion of Dundee" "Land of the unicorns"

Next is Dio in Black Sabbath lol, don't miss Heaven and Hell
The line up of Rainbow's first album (Man On The Silver Mountain and Catch The Rainbow) was made up of members of Dio's previous band, called Elf. It will be cool if you react to some of their songs, like:
Hoochie Koochie Lady (bass by Dio), Gambler Gambler (bass by Dio), Carolina County Ball, Ain't It All Amusing, When She Smiles, Streetwalker.
Bonus: Ronnie Dio And The Prophets (Dio's Rockabilly Band) - Great Balls Of Fire (Bass by Dio).
Greetings from Brazil!
"This is one of the best songs I've ever heard."

Cozy Powell was such a terrific drummer. R.I.P.
The foot job of Cozy with that double bass drum in Kill the King is really insane, my favourite Rainbow song and my favourite drummer.
still come back just to reminisce the first time i ever heard stargazer. amazing.
It was a great reaction... however it is twice as good watching you enjoying it in the Rising album reaction. We all get a little emotional at the end of Stargazer.
Kinda funny how she's initially dismayed when she finds out that Stargazer is 8 minutes long, but towards the end she's like "No! Don't end!"
“Temple of the King” is another song with a similar mood of “Catch the rainbow” ✌️
"Rainbow eyes" Is a very soft and beautiful song as well.
Love temple of the king 🤟
Totally great songs!
@@Stefan- love Rainbow Eyes
I want the temple of the king played at my funeral.
Watching peeps hearing Stargazer....it never gets old!!!
This song will never get old!!!
Literally the best modern song ever written
Stargazer has the best ending of all time imo.
............. agree
yesssss
I love the ending of Kill the King!
A light in the Black is better imo
It never ended. Listen to the stars, and it's still up there!
*Epic guitar solo*
Kira: "The bass!"
i do this ALL THE TIME lol!! hahhaha whoops i am always listening for that b a s s
The guitarist here, Ritchie Blackmore, prior to Rainbow, founded a band called Deep Purple. He is considered the pioneer of neoclassical metal.
Deep Purple songs that have many neoclassical elements (such as arpeggios) are:
-Highway Star
-Burn
-Speed King
-Pictures of Home
-Child in Time
I highly recommend them!
Brilliant comment and recommendations.
I would add:
-Mistreated
-Sail Away
-Stormbringer
-Lazy
Those are like all my recommendations of DP other than Lazy

@@kirawasareactor I'd love to recommend Opeth's new album "In Cauda Venenum" im probably the only one but I'd love to hear what you think its very dark sometimes jazzy prog rock/metal i think you would love it!
if you're really bying it, Rainbow Rising is the right choice, not only for the music but also for the cover art.
i'll be looking out for it, thanks!
Long live Rock n Roll is better, as it’s consistent all the way through, whilst Rising is the event it is is mainly because of side 2.

There is something magical about hearing Dio for the first time.

Skwisgaars is thats yous?
Dio is the greatest
Rainbow is Ritchie Blackmore's band. He left Deep Purple, of which he was a founding member. Deep Purple's Machine Head has Highway Star which probably has Ritchie's greatest guitar solo.
One of the best for sure but I prefer the Child in Time solo.
@@darrencooke4207 In hindsight, I should have written "my favorite". "Burn" is pretty good one too.✌
Child in time live made in Japan is his best guitar solo on album.

And just to let you know, I told you this already, I get crazy emotional watching your reactions to whatever the songs offer. It's like I'm re-living the first time I heard these songs. Thanks so much...
This is the beautiful thing about reaction videos. We'll never be able to listen to the things we fell in love with for the first time ever again, but when we see that moment through someone else, it's as if that spark has returned into our lives and that love intensifies. This is one of the things worth living for.
you are so very welcome!! it is my pleasure! we all win because i'm finding some of my favourite new songs too :)
His reaction to the "Stargazer" chorus was epic. That's exactly how I was years ago when I heard this song for the first time. When I saw his reaction, all that emotion I felt hearing this song for the first time came back to me. Amazing. Thanks for making your channel so cool.
Drummer Cozy Powell was one of the best ever - and he seemed everywhere - not surprising as he was an ace session drummer and played drums with bands such as Whitesnake, Black Sabbath, Brian May, Gary Moore, Cinderella, and many many more in addition to being a successful solo artist. I love his work with Sabbath - in particular on songs such as "When Death Calls" and "Nightwing" off Headless Cross, "Anno Mundi", "Jerusalem", "The Sabbath Stones" and "Valhalla" off TYR, and "Kiss of Death" and "Loser Gets It All" off Forbidden.
Yes!!!!! Rainbow rules! Welcome to the world of Rainbow. Dio also sings on a couple of Black Sabbath albums, Heaven and Hell and Mob Rules. Take care🤟🏻
DIO x BLACK SABBATH is made for me
And Dehumanizer
Cozy Powell on drums, one of the best and maybe most hard hitting there was. Not to be outshined by Dio and Blackmore!
First time I heard Dio was "Long Live Rock and Roll" . Richie Blackmore from Deep Purple is the leader of the band.
You found one of my favorite bands of all time..... so good. Richie Blackmore, Ronnie James Dio, Cozy Powell......these guys were awesome.
The 15+min version of Catch the Rainbow live is on a another level. ( pretty such any of the live versions ).
By favourite band of all time and the three studio albums they made with Dio between 1975 and 1978 are just totally phenomenal from start to finish.
This went viral which is awesome ! I'm so old that I saw 🌈 with Richie & Ronnie open for REO Speedwagon in 1978. Congratulations on the views Kira , the world is your oyster. 👍
To unite it all why not react to some of the songs Ronnie James Dio sang for Black Sabbath:
Neon Knights
Die Young
After All (The Dead)
Heaven And Hell
yes thank you!
Voodoo
Definitely need some Mob Rules in there. I do think Kira would really enjoy Turn Up the Night (the opening track from Mob Rules), but Voodoo is my top suggestion.
You suggested After All (The Dead) from Dehumanizer. I really like Dehumanizer, but that's not the song I'd suggest. I think "I" is the obvious choice for a Dehumanizer song.
The sign of the southern cross is a great song too!
Blackmore is a God end off
Rainbow was a different band every album with Ritchie Blackmore (guitar) being the only consistent member. Even Dio himself was replaced after three albums and a live album.
interesting... the guitar was killer so it's understandable that he's the lead
@@kirawasareactor Rainbow went thru singers like a junkie goes thru needles. I can think of three off the top of my head.
Before youtube... we used to invite a friend over and play music. There was always a sense of happiness when you played something new for them and they would get into it. Watching you listening to those old records and seeing the expression on your face is as close as it gets to the good old days. It is a joy to see younger generations hear these bands and be amazed like i was. Most of these are classics that you cant go wrong with. But sometimes you would find a band that was a little "out there". for that we would go for a ride in the car and play it loud and lock the door while driving really fast so you could not get away if you didnt like it :)
Exactly! Most of the youngsters will never experience the music like we did. Waiting at the music store to get the album, cycling back home, trying to get rid of the parents so we could us e the recordplayer and then listen, listen and listen again
Catch the rainbow 🌈 was the song that got me into loving music when I was 6yrs old back in 1990
That and in trance by the scorpions
"I didn't expect metal guitar solos to be inspired by Bach" - a lot of metal musicians are inspired by classical music. There's even a whole "new/neo classical" metal sub-genre. A lot of metal bands have added classical music to their songs, like Accept has songs like Metal Heart that uses both Beethoven and Tchaikovsky. Manowar have played Flight of the Bumblebee on bass and renamed it Sting Of The Bumblebee. Randy Rhoads was a classically trained guitarist and brought a lot of that into the stuff he played. There's a deep connection between metal and classical music. Oh, and one of the most fun connections: guitarist Nita "Hurricane" Strauss is actually a descendant of the composer of the same name
Well, Dio himself was inspired by Bach, too. Bach and Italian opera singers.
wow i'm really really impressed. metal is so pleasantly surprising everytime i listen to something new!
@@kirawasareactor and you have SO much more to discover. It's truly diverse and I really think that anybody who likes music can find their niche in metal somewhere. Whether you like pure aggression or romantic love songs or anything in between, you can certainly find something that speaks to you. There's also something for every mood. Happy songs, sad songs, songs that push you, that get you hyped up, something to chill to. You just have to find it.
Scott Bradlee of Postmodern Jukebox once was wondering aloud on twitter why there are so many metalheads at their shows. The replies all basically said that metal fans are all about good music and great musicianship. Because that's what metal is all about.
Blackmore took a year of classical lessons when he was 11.
@@ponytrekker9315 I think that's pretty normal for a lot of rock and metal pionieers. For most of them the initial contact with creating and playing music very likely was classical music. Back then most instrument teachers taught classical music
Absolute hoot watching you react! Seeing you go off on one, headbanging, air drumming, bass playing... the lot.
"Stargazer" was the song that started me of in the metal world. I put my headphones on and turned them way up high in in my bedroom I listened to side 2 first as I was curious as to why there were only 2 songs on it😂.
By the time Dio sang that he "saw a rainbow rising, look there on the horizon" I was seeing a rainbow in my mind. Man I was there, in the song. I came to realise the power of hard rock and metal music.
From there I was introduced to a Canadian trio called Rush and went completely bonkers😁. First thing I heard from them was "2112" side one.
I remember being told that I would "grow out of it" but I told oldies (including parents) that I would love this stuff forever.
40 odd years later and I am still crazy about the music being created in the various genres that make up the world of metal.
If you want the Dio Rainbow albums (they are definitely the best ones) then you need the first self titled, "Rising" and "Long Live Rock N Roll". If you want to hear lots and lots and lots of guitar soloing then feel free to get "Onstage". I love it but a lot of folks feel it is not the best song choices and or there is too much Ritchie Blackmore (ex Deep Purple) soloing. They are wrong... well in my humble opinion! (Just to say that the first album after Dio called "Down To Earth" is pretty damned good as well)
Other bands that it might be worth you checking out (going by your tastes so far), Rush; Scorpions (especially early); UFO and if you want to try something more recent then Orphaned Land from Israel, the only band that has been nominated for a Nobel Peace prize!
Anyways really enjoyed your reaction. All the best in your journey through this wonderful and slightly crazy world of hard rock and metal!
You couldn't have picked a better band to wake up to. Blackmore solos are as epic as Dio's vocals. It just made sense to create Rainbow with this ensemble.
So cute, she's not aware at all what's she is hearing hehe, wish her to not miss the chance to be amazed and shocked deep deep shock.
Catch the rainbow and Stargazer are one among my favourite songs, the guitar, Dio's voice, everyone is amazing. This band really is genius, they are one of the first creators of what would become metal music, their Influence is huge. From that point of view they are extremely underrated, specially as they were musical geniuses too, no bands today comes as close to their talent and influence .
Imo metal bands often do the best love songs, a great metal band has to be able to do great love ballads. Metal is a huge, diverce genre and it's not always easy to tell what is metal or hard rock, like some say Guns and roses is metal but imo they are clearly a hard rock band. But lot of specially the early metal bands played everything from metal, hard rock and rock, like Rainbow, Black Sabbath and Scorpions as example.
I mean dio was the singer for black sabbath for a bit after ozzy left, seems like a natural progression. I believe heaven and hell and mob rules were the albums he was on.
Ps, I love watching your videos, always find it interesting when people who don't listen to metal start listening to it. Reminds me of when I started aha
awww thanks, glad you enjoyed the video!
The albums were "Heaven & Hell", "Mob Rules" and "Dehumanizer" (plus "Live Evil", but that's a live album). And then the same band had to work under a different name (they chose "Heaven & Hell" as the band name, obviously) and made the last studio album before Ronnie died: "The Devil You Know", which fits right into the line of the previously mentioned albums.
Ricthie "Shredmeister" Blackmore was an early pioneer of sweep picking, classical chord structure, and tremelo picking in rock. The guitar solo in Rainbow's "Gates of Babylon" is ridiculous. My favourite quiet song by them is "Rainbow Eyes". They only did three albums together, but Dio/Blackmore was a magical combination
You so must watch the doco “Metal - A Headbanger’s Journey”.
I couldn’t recommend it high enough for anyone getting into the genre - you really don’t realise how massive and diverse it is.
i want to do some movie reactions on this channel. this could be my first!
@@kirawasareactor ‘twould be rad!
That would be good! The same people also did an in depth documentary mini-series called Metal Evolution which does a great job of breaking down a lot of metal's core subgenres!
The Banger docs are *okay*, but I find that Mr. Dunn has difficulty keeping his personal biases out of the films. For instance he doesn't know anything about Power Metal and has seemingly never taken the time to learn even though he ostensibly is making career out of metal education. It seems like he's always most interested in talking about his favorite bands instead of discussing things objectively. Also he makes a lot of factual statements that to me are just plain wrong. For instance I'm pretty sure in Headbanger's Journey he claims that Black Metal evolved from Death Metal which is just objectively not true. In the Extreme Metal episode he just kind of barely mentions Bathory once in passing and it's like: dude, that band was kind of a big deal. That said, I think Headbanger's Journey is a decent starting point for someone who wants to gain a baseline understanding of metal culture and history, just know that some of the things he says aren't going to be totally accurate. I think the best thing that guy did was introduce people to Martin Popoff who actually DOES know what he's talking about.
«Rainbow - Rainbow eyes» Might be the most beautiful song ever made
Yes, Rainbow Rising would be a perfect album to start with. It's quality over quantity, because it only has 6 songs. Tarot Woman begins with an amazing synth solo, and then slowly comes in with a badass guitar riff, and then the way Dio sings this chorus is just orgasmic. Run with the Wolf is an epic slower power metal ballad. Starstruck is easily the most catchy song in the album, it's chorus is easily the second best of the album. Do You Close Your Eyes honestly feels a bit like a filler song, it's the least interesting song in the album; but it's also the shortest, and it's still a fantastic song overall.
Then there's Stargazer, you already know that one, it was a major influence on metal, and it would have to be my favorite of the album, and my second favorite song of all time. Then finally, we have A Light In The Black, it's technically a sequel to the story set up in Stargazer, so be looking out for that. Also, it's bloody insane; it's not as emotionally powerful as Stargazer, because it's pure energy; I swear it's solo is like, twice as long as Stargazer's.
The look on her face when Dio is going home in Stargazer - yes. Thank you.
You are officially my favourite person on RUclips now. I love you how just absorb and enjoy the music. I can't help but smile. It's cool seeing someone just being completely themselves. You're a good egg.
aww thank you Justin!! this made me smile :)
A good song from Dio's time with Sabbath is the song "I." Some of my favorite lyrics.
If you liked catch the rainbow you'll love rainbow eyes by them as well!
Also gates of babylon is another good choice from them.
Yes!! Gates of Babylon!!!
Awesome videos! Love seeing your reactions! Kind of takes me back to when i was a kid hearing these songs for the first time! Can't wait to see your next reaction video!
It's so wholesome watching someone get into metal!! I started in the deep end in all sort of metal subgenres so I'm learning this canon with you. All the stuff you've liked so far, arpeggios, dope ass bass, killer solos and riffs, key/tempo changes, experimental stuff etc. are seriously in no short supply in metal. So hyped for you to find the niche subgenre(s) that fit! Good luck fam and thanks for the content!
I don't think anyone would describe Rainbow as metal. They are an amazing rock band, whose music needs to be kept alive for future generations ! Thanks for your part in helping to do this!
It was obviously alot of a bigger deal at the time, not as grimey and edgy as punk but you could slide this into symphonic metal
You didn't want Stargazer to end. Well, it didn't. Sort of. The next song on Rising is A Light In The Black and it continues the same story. Might want to give it a listen.
she's enjoyin it, mission accomplished!
Your reaction is so honest and pure, that it makes me wanna listen to Rainbow right now :D
Another great reaction. I was one of those who recommended Man on the silver mountain. Still my favorite song. But I dug Stargazer also for the first time with you just a little while ago.
Stargazer is undeniable. too grateful for you guys that recommend Man on the Silver Mountain, it's right up my alley! thanks Victor!!
Loved this vid! Stargazer is truly one of the best songs ever written, I had pretty much the same reactions when I first listened to it. Also if you pay attention to the lyrics, the song A Light in the Black is the continuation to Stargazer and listening to them back to back is a whole experience. So yeah definitely listen to Rising in its entirety!
If you liked the guitar then you should check out Deep Purple, especially their work between 1970 and 1974, before Blackmore first left to found Rainbow. And then of course there's the two Black Sabbath albums with Dio (but you already know by now). Looking forward to more of your reactions!
I've heard Gates of Babylon ( I think it's called ) is also a follow-on in the storyline of Stargazer?
@@kirawasareactor Yeah probably since that song contains the same themes, though it has less lyrics than Stargazer and is more about religious imagery. Gates of Babylon is such an amazing (and underrated) song, the two minute long guitar solo is one of my favorite of all time
Stargazer was regularly voted into the Top 10 Rock Songs of All Time on a rock show I used to listen to. And rightly so.
The bassist you asked about is Jimmy Bain. Jimmy was also the bassist in Dio's band.
Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Dio and Rainbow are all connected. Both Ian Gillan and Glenn Hughes from Deep Purple were also one-album vocalists for Sabbath. Dio was lead vocalist of Rainbow and Black Sabbath. Richie Blackmore (guitarist here) and Roger Glover Rainbow's later bassist were both in Deep Purple. Joe Lynn Turner who became Rainbow's lead vocalist after Dio joined Sabbath was a one-album vocalist for Deep Purple. Bassist Jimmy Bain (here) was in both Dio's band and Rainbow. Drummer Cozy Powell was with Rainbow and Sabbath. Bassist Bob Daisley (the bassist who came between Jimmy Bain and Roger Glover in Rainbow) was with both Rainbow and Sabbath.
It's one monstrous family. I know there are more members with more connections but those are just the ones that came to mind lol. The UK rock-scene inter-mingled a lot. As weird as it sounds, you just can't go wrong with any songs by Sabbath, Dio, Rainbow or Deep Purple. They're pretty much the founding fathers of early (classic) heavy metal (which most consider hard rock now).
My favorite "sad song" is Judas Priest - Run of the mill. It's a great song and i recommend 👍
Can confirm, truly a great song, a staple in their catalogue for a reason. Also Here come the Tears and Beyond the Realms of Death. Rob Halford can do so much and he excells at conveying emotions
Edit: Another great choice would be the slow version of Diamonds And Rust - and of course Joan Baez' original version
Listen to A Light in the Black, it's the next song after Stargazer, in fact it's part two of Stargazer.
Dio, Richie Blackmore, Cozy Powell. 3 masters of their trades in one band. Nothing could go wrong here
You like this so much because it's one of the greatest songs ever written.
Me gustó ver tu reacción a Rainbow; y creo que el metal ha conquistado a una nueva guerrera.
Sigue así, nunca cambies... 🤟🏼😃
Great video. You should try Nightwish next. I know it's been asked in the Dio video as well (i was one of them), but it's something different that I think you'll really enjoy. And since this is the first comment, I think you're legally obligated to do Nightwish next.
lemme add it to the list!! what songs do you recommend?
Nightwish are shit
@@kirawasareactor Ghost Love Score is usually the first one people react to. Poet and the Pendulum is a masterpiece, it's really personal and sentimental and there's a backstory to it, but it's so good. Watch the live versions with Floor Jansen as lead singer, she's probably the best singer you'll ever hear. Another really good one to showcase Marko (bassist and singer) is Islander live at Tampere. Then there's a lot of other songs you can listen to, like Storytime, Last Ride of the Day. Phantom of the Opera should also be really interesting, and I'd go with Tarja's live version on this one
@@Koutu710 The greatest show on earth, is another great one! Leave The poet and the pendulum for last!
@@CMOTDibbler66 I agree, I wasn't sure I should mention it, it's really long, and imo ghost love score + poet and the pendulum is better than just greatest show on earth. If she has the time for all of them, sure, but if she has to select a few of them, I'd leave greatest show on earth out, in favour of the others
A little secret. The original plan was a violin solo at the end, but they ran out of tape in the studio, hence the fade.
Stargazer and Catch the Rainbow are easily two of the greatest songs of all time
My favorite album of all time is Rainbow - Live in Germany ‘76. Also Live in Munich ‘77 (which is also available on dvd) is amazing. Highly recommend checking those out

i know that ONE riff. everything else will be new for me! excited...
@@kirawasareactor Black Night, Highway Star, Child in Time, and Burn will blow your mind.
Well,,,,,, here's where it starts to get complicated.
Deep Purple/Rainbow/Black Sabbath. They're all family you know.
Deep Purple featuring Ritchie Blackmore and Ian Gillan on voice. DEEP PURPLE IN ROCK. That's for both guitar and vocal pyrotechnics. Ian Gillan quit in 73 and was replaced by David Coverdale. They also got a new bass player/vocalist called Glenn Hughs. Check out BURN. Ritchie Blackmore quit Deep Purple in late 74 and formed Rainbow.
Dio quit Rainbow and Joined Black Sabbath in 80. HEAVEN AND HELL.
Dio quit Sabbath in 82 and Ian Gillan (ex-Purple) joined as singer. BORN AGAIN. for more vocal pyrotechnics.
Sabbath sort of fell apart after 83 but a new Sabbath album was out in 86 with Glenn Hughs as singer. Ex Purple again. After the 83 Sabbath tour ended, Ritchie Blackmore put the 'popular' Deep Purple lineup back together again with Ian Gillan on voice. PERFECT STRANGERS.
OZZY got back together with Sabbath and during one of Sabbath's time off, Dio got back together with Tony and Geezer and Appice who was the lineup on Heaven And Hell and also Mob Rules and did another album but couldn't call themselves Sabbath because there was already a working band called that with OZZY and Bill Ward. So they called themselves Heaven And Hell. That album is worth looking at too.
Ummmmmm, So,,, get Rainbow Rising, Deep Purple in Rock, Deep Purple Burn, Black Sabbath Heaven And Hell, Black Sabbath Mob Rules, Black Sabbath Born Again and Deep Purple Perfect Strangers.
Hope you study 'cos you will be quizzed.
Burn also has some of the best Ian Paice drumming you will hear! If you see clips of Ian without a shirt on, you will know he was high at the time. Jon Lord on keyboard is legendary too, especially when you consider he was only using a cut-down Hammond organ at the time
Stargazer is one of the few songs that made me go woah this is the best thing I've ever heard the first time I listened to it.
Your reactions are so enjoyable!!! Keep doing this!!!
So much to say, yet you said it all. These guys are monsters, all of them. You'll still hear a lot about Ritchie Blackmore. You are taking the right path. From there you can go any and everywhere. Until you decide what's your thing. I think you should go to Uriah Heep (very underestimated band) or Deep Purple and progress to heavier stuff from there. You still got the whole of the 80's to go through. I'm loving ev'ry sec. Congrats from Rio de Janeiro!
I reckon DEEP PURPLE will be coming up soon!
React "child in time" - Deep purple 😉
She should do the live BBC version.
Back in the 70's this was Heavy Rock, we didn't use metal as a term for this, that started around 1979/80 being used for certain bands that were heavier than this such as Judas Priest and some of the newer British bands of that time.
Dio + Blackmore was one of my fav combos ever. Always love to hear them.
Rainbow were about the first rock band I listened to (about forty years ago, when Down To Earth, their fourth album, was new - I am *really* old 😂) & were a great gateway, for me, into rock and metal... I'll still listen to them occasionally, even though my tastes have expanded to faster, heavier bands since then!
Oh - and my second rock band was Deep Purple, because that's where Ritchie Blackmore, the guitarist, came from... And yes, they're *well* worth your time too - I'll point you at Highway Star (ruclips.net/video/UAKCR7kQMTQ/видео.html) by the classic line-up of Blackmore, Ian Gillan (the singer), Ian Paice (drums), Jon Lord (keyboards) and Roger Glover (bass - who was also in Rainbow!). I'm also quite partial to Gillan's band after Purple (variously called The Ian Gillan Band, then just Gillan) - they had quite a run of hit singles around 1979-81 - try Mutually Assured Destruction (ruclips.net/video/6Oc8GE1Nnm0/видео.html)
Final thing - the drummer in all those Rainbow tracks is Cozy Powell - very well regarded drummer - he was in Black Sabbath for a period & played with several other bands (Whitesnake, Michael Schenker Group, to name two).
I think Deep Purple is essential to understand the metal origins, the songs that I recommend to listen are Highway Star, Speed king, Child on time, and Smoke on the Water for the mark II or classic line-up, I would add from the mark III line up Burn and Stormbringer. My album recomendation would be Machine Head.
Just a note about rock and classical music. The Deep Purple keyboard player, Jon Lord, when he retired from the rock scene became a classical composer.
@@biraoliverio And remember 'Concerto for Group and Orchestra' (ruclips.net/video/gnA1IMnLZr4/видео.html), which he composed in 1969. It's very much a thing of its time...
DEEP PURPLE is high on my list!
@@kirawasareactor Good to know. Another DP album that deserves a complete reaction is Made Japan, for sure one of the best live albums ever recorded.
deep purple child in time live its the same guitarist as rainbow
\
You videos are genuinely fun to watch, don't stop!!!
thank you!!
Love your vids! Reminds me of being a kid of the 80s and finding all this music for the 1st time. Your reactions are awesome, so much fun to watch. Good luck on your journey of discovery! Rock on.
Oh yeah, btw...man on the silver mountain is my favorite tune ever since I was a kid 🤟🤟🤟
riff riff riff riff
You need to listen to Temple of the king and rainbow eyes from this band. You will love it
..for sure.... no doubts!
I'm late to this video, but this... this is good. Welcome to Metal proper, you're off on a fantastic journey! These videos - and your personality - are an absolute treat. For you I have words from Dio himself, "I see a Rainbow Rising!" There's plenty of recommendations to throw your way, but I'm sure you'll find your way through the Metal world just fine :)
Little fact about me I was born listening to Catch the rainbow, and first time I listened to it on my own I just knew I had heard it before, then I showed my mum the song and she just told me I was born to it so yeah.
R.I.P Mum, I'll love you forever.
Now you have listen to Rainbow - Long live rock'n'roll, Black Sabbath - Heaven and Hell and Mob Rules.
Oh hell yes!!!!
I think the next band you should do is Queensrÿche. take hold of the flame, queen of the reich and walking in the shadows . Keep rocking \m/
ohh hell yeaaaa!!! thanks!!
The singer Geoff Tate imho had the best metal voice of the 80's, definitely in the top 5.
Fuck yeah do the whole gambit from wueensryche from Child Of Fire live 1984
Then Gonna get close to you from Rage For Order to fine her a pop / dark stalker vibe lol
Then the Thin line from Which is a heavy almost jazzy song from Tate ,
I only leave out operation mindcrime because Newbies usually and understandably get confused with concept albums if you do one song and you live the lyrical content !
@@seanherskowitzpleasekillme4129 i wanna do whole album reactions eventually. they will be a bitch to edit but hopefully i can get quicker with it. i'm down for a concept album
Queensrÿche is a good suggestion. For my money Rage For Order is their best album so I'll definitely second Walk In the Shadows. Pretty much everything they did in the 80s is gold, though; It's tough to pick favorite songs from that period. Also they have plenty of sad songs/heartbreak songs.
Ritchie Blackmore was in Deep Purple before he founded Rainbow.
Here are some songs to check out by DP:
Highway Star (Live from Made In Japan)
Speed King
Into The Fire
Flight Of The Rat
Hard Lovin' Man
Pictures Of Home
Lazy
Burn
Stormbringer
Fireball
Black Night (Live from Made In Japan)
Keep on rockin'!
Being old, I remember this when it came out. Recording copies on a C90 tape for all my mates, headbanging in rock nightclubs - those were the days. Golden era for rock music! I can never decide which if my favorite Dio track though, this or Heaven and Hell. Both bloody good tracks! :)
I highly recommend you react to Queensryche. I would suggest Queen of the Reich, Jet City Women, and Silent Lucidity.
thank you!
@@kirawasareactor , go for the original clip of Silent Lucidity. By your reaction to Rainbow, I can safely say that you will like this song.
"Take Hold of the Flame" and the entire Operation Mind Crime album. This must be done!
One of my favorite "love-metal song" is definitely "Wasted Love" by Iron Maiden
Great video! Rising is one of my favourite albums for sure!
I didn't even know this band before this video, and I loved, it should be pretty cool to listen with friends. THANKS
i'm obsessed now damn
