    It is great to see everyone adopt the habit of cleaning their equipment at the end of the day. Farm stuff, and personal stuff. Never fail!!! Changing/checking the oil, cleaning/checking the tires, doing all the little fiddling stuff, etc, etc., .. good habits to get into. Never forget to do it. Your equipment will look great and will always be worth far more than you think it should. All because of that little bit of extra effort.

    Good job checking the corn emergence. Very good info. Now is also a great time to check the corn depth, just dig down next to the baby stalk and you can see exactly where the kernel ended up now that the ground has had time to settle.

    Great Video Today... A bit of humor and fun along with a couple of lessons learned on Spraying crops. With all of the farm channels I follow I don't remember anyone giving a better explanation on what needs to be done when switching crops. I appreciate the extra effort you guys put in to bring the Non farmer folks a common sense explanation that explains there is more than dropping seeds in the dirt LOL. Also the maintenance work on all of your equipment shows the importance of making things last longer. I was curious if you have looked into the New AG Leader stuff for the Hagie that would allow you to better control each nozzle?. With pretty much triple the cost for Chemicals this year it seems that it might be a super savings investment in the long run and also help to reach the 300 bushel corn and 100 bushel Soy Beans your trying to reach. DC is teaching Auggie some good lessons from his Grandpa Cornstar and he is adorable in the videos. As always Thank You for bringing us along on these adventures that always put a smile on so many of our faces no matter what kind if day we might have had.......

    Hi Cole. Keep in mind the seed quality can be all that affects the emergence speed. Even if the germination is 100% they don't all germinate at the same speed. Ask for a vigor test. This is the germination percentage halfway through the test cycle. The higher that number the more even they will emerge.

    • @redbovine
      @redbovine 2 года назад

      That’s something I’ve never understood about soybeans. All the suppliers tell us 140000 seeds per acre or 1 bag. My question is if the germination is 80% or 85% do I need to vary the rate. Our local suppliers look at me like I’m dumb for asking. My theory is I want 140000 viable plants per acre. It may be a bit much but it’s worked for me for years.

    Hi to Cole and all the Family from Australia. Cole, one of the variable elements you must record is your time taken to do your field tests (and all the other jobs). Time as a “metric” will show up as a cost and you can track the improvement in doing things better, quicker and easier and it will also be a factor in decision making when looking at upgrading equipment or deciding when to outsource rather than doing a job in-house. Having done many similar quality control and statistical analysis projects in a number of different manufacturing sectors, you are absolutely right on the money. Knowing the actual cost on non-conformance will make decisions to buy a dedicated wash out head and containment bay for the sprayer and trailer a simpler exercise. Your business oversight contributes as much as Coopers mechanical abilities and DC’s groaning (lived wisdom) to your success. Looking forward to seeing the various flag test results at harvest time. Cheers Mate. 🇦🇺🧪🚜🛰🐮🇦🇺

    Always curious about you washing off equipment on the property. You have so many different chemicals used for growing and simple as washing a car. Is there certain areas you wash down your tractors, spray out tanks, wash cars etc... So there isn't a cross contamination of anything? Like do you wash certain tanks in one area and others in another area?
