  • My deltas were too high so I flushed the block and oil cooler with VC9 ford flush. replaced the thermostat and installed Sinister diesel oil and coolant filters. I was able to get the delta down to 10-12 degree difference.

I use a deep 4mm ball driver on a 3/8 socket in place of the t27. If you are afraid of breaking ball driver because of reduced shank size, loosen first with small key wrench. Works great.

I am not sure about the 7.3 fan. I used the 6.4 fan with the BPD adaptor. Definatly blows more air and temps have been good. Just towed my 40' 15k 5th wheel with no problem. Deltas never higher than 8 degrees.

What idea has flush when you can change and put a new one in a day I do it in 4-5 hours remove the turbo disconnect lines. remove the intake manifold and you have the oil cooler in your hands.

You make it sound easy. I might do mine .I'm not a mechanic but I've done a good bit of wrenching. Oil is getting a little hot.

@@robertdilullo6765 well my comment was to change the O rings and the oil cooler before doing this procedure for me it is easier. if you have another project in your garage then you do not belong to the world of powerstroke and you should focus on your project.

Is the Cat brand coolant better then the Ford Gold?

    Did this help your deltas?

It did a little but I ended up replacing the oil cooler and switching to Cat ELC coolant. It was good for flushing out all the Ford gold coolant but I think the cooler was just too clogged up. I replaced the EGR cooler also. Working really well now with 6 degrees being the highest difference I have seen so far.

And what are you towing is it heavy im a mover pulling a 28ft trailer but we can get that thing pretty full and heavy. My oil cooler is clogged I'm hitting Temps like 150 one time with like 32 maybe more delta difference and my oil cooler was recently replaced. I'm gonna get it fixed just want to know what is good Temps. Thanks a whole lot!

Usually runs around 195 to 200 deltas are within 6 degrees. I am pulling a 40 ft 5th wheel that weighs about 15,000 pounds. I have a tow tune and use tow mode. I alsk replacedthe electric colling fan with a mechanical fan from a 6.4. See my other videos for more upgrades

I dont think you want to see temps over 225. I run full synthetic oil also in case it gets too hot it wont break down the oil]
