The little girl actor Judith barsi will never be forgotten, she will always be remembered for the all of the great characters that she played. It's just not fair that Judith barsi died because of her father, she was just a little girl. And besides Judith barsi would be 44 years old right now, if she hadn't gotten killed at the age of 10 years old.
Another sad fact is that Judith couldn’t sing “Come Home to my Heart” without crying and another little girl had to come in and sing it instead. Listening to the lyrics about wanting a family who loves you while also knowing what happened to Judith and how her home life was makes this song so much more sad and I can never listen to it without crying..😞💔
When Judith Barsi auditioned for this movie they had her try to sing the song about being home but she broke down in hysterics suddenly, probably because she HATED (was terrified) to be home with her father…. Her agent witnessed the break down and told her mom to take her to a child psychologist, which she did. Less than an hour in the room with Judith and the psychologist diagnosed her as being severely abused and reported to CPS, but CPS closed the case when the mom promised she was going yo take Judith and leave the father. So many people dropped the ball, the abuse going on in the Barsi home was ANYTHING but a secret.
Rest in peace, Judith Barsi. Growing up I loved this movie, and just rewatched it as an adult a few years. I was definitely taken aback at how violent it was-not something I remembered about it at all!
This movie was originally going to be a lot darker. You can tell there was supposed to be more between where the car started moving, and when it flew off the ramp. Also, Carface was originally going to use a machine gun instead of a ray gun. You can see where they didn't change the lipsync.
Yeah, I believe I heard somewhere that they originally were supposed to say "Tommy gun", but the higher ups changed the script to make it slightly less dark. Even put a special effect on the bullets.
There’s been numerous occasions that Don Bluth’s films have been edited for understandable reasons. Most notably with All Dogs Go to Heaven’s Hell scene. The sequence was shown at the MGM studio at one time and it was uncut. The demon that rose from the flames had dialogue that said “Now, you’re mine” and then laughs evilly. Don Bluth had the uncut version of the film but went missing, which was unfortunate. It’d be nice to see uncut versions of his films some day.
Its so sad how the little girl actor died :c Judith, no child or person should ever go through what they did. I dont understand how some people can be so cruel. Especially a father killing their child, i just dont understand it. However, I did like your reaction to the movie and I hope you liked it!
there's also: Charles Nelson Reilly [Killer] (January 13, 1930 - May 25, 2007), age 76 Anna Manahan [Stella the Horse] (October 14, 1924 - March 8 2019), Age 84
The sparkling lights in Don Bluth movies always look so magical because they would actually punch holes into each individual frame and shine real light through it ❤
This was my grandmother's favorite movie. I remember watching it a lot with her, my brothers, and my cousins when we were all kids. The pizza scene always made me hungry for pizza.
This was so great, I grew up watching this one as well. 😄 It’s weird how some of these movies become more impactful and disturbing when you re-watch them as an adult. It is indeed horribly sad what happened to Judith Barsi. May she RIP… 🙏
Yeah the actress who voiced the little girl was sadly murdered by her father :( her mother was also murdered the same night. RIP Judith Barsi and mom ♥ She also voiced Ducky form the Land Before Time series.
This movie is so many things in one! Definitely a childhood favorite. Growing up with a German Shepherd (which is the dog breed Charlie is) really endeared me to the character.
I’d watch this movie all the time during my childhood. As an adult, learning about all the serious stuff with some of the actors, the edited footage, and such was very interesting. Besides all that, I still enjoy this film for what it is and how much people like it. Also, RIP Judith Barsi and Dom Deluise, VA’s of Anne Marie and Itchy.
Have you seen Judith’s tombstone? It’s the sweetest most heartbreaking thing. Since she voiced Ducky from The Land Before Time too. It reads “Our Concrete Angel. Yep! Yep! Yep!”
This movie has me in tears everytime my cousin and I would watch this together our favorite song was let’s make music together and I knew the story was dark but as a adult after losing my cousin and rewatching this it’s hard to watch sometimes brings back memories and makes it 10x sadder knowing that the little girl Judith actually died because of her dad she would have been in her 40s just like my older cousin would be my cousin passed at 41yrs old a month after her birthday and my God mom passed in her 30s due to cancer she would be 40 turning 41 in May had she lived this movie holds a special place in my heart for so many reasons the scene when Charlie leaves and says I’ve come to say goodbye and she says Charlie will I ever see you again really had me in tears because those were almost the same words my cousin said almost 🥺
The way Carface prepared to kill Charlie is actually pretty realistic to how a lot of predator animals prepare for a kill bite in real life; on bigger animals they will pull at the skin around the scruff of the neck with their teeth until it's thin enough for them to bite all the way through the spine or other major nerve.
So sad for many reasons really is a good description here, I'm sure there will be many comments about Judith Barsi, RIP. Don't even ask why they had to get a different actress to sing that one song, you'll cry. The ray gun scene is confusing because it was quickly edited after a school shooting in California. Originally that was supposed to be a tommy gun and it's supposed to show that Charlie couldn't be hurt with the watch but it was considered too violent so they changed it to a "ray gun". They also removed Charlie's body going in to the water on his first death. It's considered one of the darkest G rated movies ever for a reason
Eleanor Neale discussed the sad case of Judith Barsi in one of her true crime stories. There were also rumors that because of Judith’s murder, Don Bluth became so depressed, his movies after All Dogs Go To Heaven were not as good.
normally i dont like these types of reaction videos but i cant help to watch 3 or 4 of your videos a day i love your reactions and its perfectly edited to the key parts of the films keep it up love wathcing
This was one of my favorite movies as a kid, I used to put on a dress and my Mary Janes every time I watched it just so I could lay down and sing with the movie as I kicked my feet. Almost forgot about that, wow
honestly tho even though Charlie is shown to have such a twofaced and scummy attitude through the movie when dealing with Anne-Marie you can tell he's a genuinely good guy to the other dogs by the way they interact with him and are happy when he comes back after being sent to the pound (minus carface and his crew). I think it's because Charlies been hurt too many times by humans, that's why he started out with the attitude he had towards the kid, you can only be so loyal to others for so long before the way they treat you finally breaks something inside of you.
Awesome reaction yet again! Honestly, when I was a kid, I failed to realize that Charlie actually sided before going to Heaven at the end (or should I say back into Heaven in this case). I was kind of surprised to see Killer push Anne-Marie to shore at the end. Then again, maybe he got fed up with Carface fighting with Charlie the way that he did? You got me! Anyway, I loved the bond between Charlie, Itchy, and Anne-Marie, and I loved that Charlie had a change of heat as the story progressed, especially near the end. I would say that I prefer this film over All Dogs Go To Heaven 2, or even All Dogs Christmas Carol. Anyway, thanks for reacting to All Dogs Go To Heaven 1. Anyway, great job yet again!
Don Bluth is a freaking genius. That ending was one of the saddest, most bittersweet things I've ever seen. But yeah, it was pretty jacked up how the murderous Carface went to Heaven. I'm sure he'll jack things up in no time, though. No redemption arc for HIM! XD
I always really loved the second one All Dogs Go To Heaven 2 more than the first, I just connected with it way more. The first is good and all and much love to Judith B. but sequels my favorite. Homeward Bound 90s version and its sequel are amazing movies!!
OMG this one... I watched it sooo much when i was young and i grew up remembering few parts but it was so blurred. I thought it was just from a dream or something... It's not famous around me, i didn't know the title so i couldn't find any informations. Turns out i remember perfectly the lyrics of the first song in my main langage ! Thank you si much for everything. The title, your reaction, your anthenticity... Thank you !
That makes better sense to me because Oogie Boogie's voice was also King Gator. Ken Page, the legend. He's been doing good for years. I saw him on RUclips singing his evil song from the Nightmare Before Christmas on stage in front of thousands of fans. I even played the same song for music therapy to use in October as a Halloween session.
I am 31yrs old and I have this on HS still. I grew up with this movie. You just blew my mind.... I never realized Carface was a reference to Scarface. I feel stupid now
the reason why Charlie got a second chance was because he sacrificed his life to save anne-marie, I think the angel dog said so while you were talking over the movie and not really paying attention. I know you try to pay as much attention as possible. the sequel is also worth looking at, hope you get to react to it soon.
Judith Barsi had so much depth and emotion in her voice. If she had lived, and I can only imagine she might've improved/changed the entire landscape of future American animation.
This is a nostalgic movie for me even tho I’m just 14 this movie was just one of the movies we had so I watched it a lot and the “hell” scene scared me

But now in this current time, the sensitive adults of this generation have finally succeeded in getting rid of the pictures because they found them too scary. Smh🤦🙄😒
Sad fact: After recording this scene, the actor of Anne Marie was killed by her father. It took Charlie 63 takes to complete the scene because he kept choking up
The little girl and her mom got killed by her dad then he committed suicide while they were asleep in the same time they were producing this movie the song at the end of the movie was a tribute to her.
Shame about the little girls actor. But yeah, they had to call killers gun a ray gun because they couldn't say tommy gun or actually have Charlie be shot by a real gun. In the end it's supposed to reveal that charlie is immortal atm because he's not supposed to be there.

You can see an extended version of the Dog Hell scene on YT and I can see why they trimmed the scene -- scary as all hell lol
Yeah he definitely says something like “a real gun” instead of “a ray gun”
There were also some bad words that have been edited out as well.
Yeah, I believe I heard somewhere that they originally were supposed to say "Tommy gun", but the higher ups changed the script to make it slightly less dark. Even put a special effect on the bullets.
