- The Kahr K9 Elite is a beautiful, well made, pistol that is easy to shoot. Although, there are many firearms that are lighter and hold more rounds, there is just something about an all metal firearm. This K9 was one of the first pistols to embrace the concealed carry market in the 90s when concealed carry started to be allowed. Before this pistol, snubbed nose revolvers were the King of Concealed Carry!

I have the K40. Shoots very well. I changed out springs and put a laser grip on it to up the game.
Oh man, I love the K9. It's such a beautiful gun. Edit: one hour later and I have a Kahr K9 on the way! I have been drooling over this pistol since the mid 90's when it was released. I was only 15yrs old but was really taken by the striking looks and quality.
It really fits like a glove in your hand!

Beautiful gun! It’s on my bucket list! I just got a pm9. Always wanted one, had CM9 was my 1st single stack back in the day, loved it, but I was poor and now that I’m older I’m trying to get the things I had to pass up. Love the Kahr trigger, really hope they make a double stack one day
My EDC is the K9 for over 20 years. Personally I wouldnt want to go any smaller nor lighter. I also have over 5000 rounds through it without a malfunction.

I got the CW9 last Friday. I have switched to kahr firearms because they are great guns for the price and also american made. Will definitely get more especially June when the new X9 comes out. Great video and God Bless from Oklahoma.
Yes you can shoot cast lead bullets out of this gun. This type of rifling is actually really good for cast.
I had a black K9. Shouldn’t have sold it. It fits perfectly in S&W M&P Shield holster.

I own and carry an older K40 in the nickel finish. The weight of the k40 makes shooting 40 S&W a pleasure from such a small concealable weapon. It's a tack driver with it's super smooth trigger.
Have a black one and a horsehide crossbreed and a CTC laser grip on it. Used to carry it all the time till I swapped out a Taurus GX4 for the Kahr. Rather ironically the Taurus was the one I had on me when i drew in self defense. Jackoff cops took my gun, took my permit and took 2700 bucks from me ( not to mention 50 bucks worth of ammo and 50 bucks worth of magazines). The Kahr staying at home actually saved it. Unfortunately for me I got 24 months probation and I can’t carry a firearm until I get the arrest expunged ( probably spring/ summer of 2025 before I can reapply for my permit depending on weather or not pa decides to add a training requirement which will force me to have to eat a day of work to get the training and the permit. Currently that and a few other guns I wasn’t forced to sell currently resides in his gun safe out of my reach as required by the plea bargain. I had to sell my zastava CZ999, my Delton E-316 AR-15, my Stoeger cougar 9mm and my Ruger Service 6 ( I got .50 cents on the dollar for the 999 counter guy was practically drooling on that one, I got .50 cents on the dollar for the AR-15 which I took all my accessories off of. I got .35 cents on the dollar for the cougar 9mm which hurt cause I liked that gun and I got .20 cents on the dollar for the service 6 ) I know those counter guys took the zastava, the cougar and the Ruger home that night. Anyways after I get my permit back I’ll need to retrain. Anyways right now my only real defensive options are all less then lethal pepper spray. Until it’s over I’ll have to hope pepper spray and edged weapons will be enough

I bought a K9 when they first came out. Mine have a very low 2 digit sn#. Mine is black as they did not have the polished version at the time. Defiantly a keeper.
wouldnt carry one these days but I would definetly buy one as a range toy and safe queen. I'm more interested in the PM9 for deep CC.
Concealed carry was allowed long before the 90's. Not sure exactly what you meant by that statement. The K9 is indeed an excellent firearm and still very viable as a concealed carry. Great video!
Before the 90s it was not legal to carry a firearm concealed in Kentucky. There was no permit process. However, you could carry a firearm open.
In Virgina in the early 90s, you could only carry concealed if you could demonstrate a reason why you needed to before a circuit judge. You also had to pass an interview with the police. There was no carry permit without cause. You could however carry open.
@@firearmpatriotreviews OK, that is two states. Many other states have had concealed carry for decades long before the 90's. No big deal, just your statement was a bit confusing to me being in a state that has had concealed carry prior to the 90's.

Kahr’s are great guns, polymer or the steel frame I’ve had my P380 for 11 years never had a problem, but I’m thinking of selling and getting a Ruger LCP Max. I’ve had the K9, T9, PM9, PM45, and PM40 and I wish I still had them all.
If you get a Ruger LCP Max, get one that has a Cerakoted slide. I purchase a standard model recently and the slide was rusted all over. Ruger sent me a replacement and it was also rusted.

As hard as I look at my Elite 03, I do not find the tiny notches on the slide and frame to live up for easy disassembly! I’ve stopped your video and enlarged the picture and compared with my pistol and I can’t see them. That surely would be a great aid! Another trick is to pull back the slide and wedge an empty mag into the gap you created. The thickness of the mag seems to be the distance that the slide needs to come back for alignment to remove the slide release lever. But, it’s not pleasant to do.

Shitty k9 update.. bought a mantis laser academy hoping to get some value out of this paperweight and guess what, laser cartridge doesnt work in it! Cant give this gun away for $250 at any gunshop or show here in SC.
My new k9's ejector exploded out of the right side of the frame on round 21 shooting new pmc bronze, severly injuring my hand. Dealer wouldnt take it back, too custo,er service 5 weeks to fix, . Took it to a gun show, couldnt get 300 for it, several dealers had kahrs they said they couldnt get rid of.
I do not recommend this gun.
The Model has been around for decades and once was the the main firearm issued by the largest police department in America.
If the ejector exploded out of the pistol, that sounds like an ammo issue.
Next, a gun shop is only going to give pennies on the dollar for any firearm. You could buy a $1000 NIB CZ or Sig, and they would only offer $300-$400 for it.
Last, I see used Kahr steel frame pistols selling on gun broker for $500 +/- regularly depending on the condition and model....
I own two K40s, a K9, a MK40, and a MK9. The range from being manufactured 24years ago to 4 years ago. All have been flawless
Police departments make mistakes. The smith 4043 was issued to me in a 500 man police dept, was around for decades, and is still a crappy, unreliable firearm. Ive fired 10k plus roumds of pmc bronze in varous calibers, never a misfire.
This gun tore my hand up as well.
The NYPD for years authorized the Kahr K9. From what I was told, there was a German engineer who found a defect with the pistol and therefore the Pistol was removed from service. It is not a Double Action Only as it doesn’t have a second strike capability.
The K9 does not have second strike capability. If a round does not go off the slide must be manually racked to recock the striker before the trigger can be pulled again.
@@firearmpatriotreviews The NYPD officers who wanted a Double Action Only pistol had the Smith and Wesson 5946 and Sig Sauer P226 to choose from during that time.
That is innocent and out right false information @Boostimalaja1. The NYPD dropped the Kahr K9 because they wanted Kahr to incorporate a much heavier trigger which Kahr did not do. No foreign company found any flaw as you made up, and the K9's design is relatively the exact safe as it was when it was first introduced.
You're spewing outright misinformation that you pulled out of thin air as the reason for the NYPD going away from the Kahr K9 is long standing, well known, documented information.
It’s my understanding that the NYPD wanted Kahr to build the guns with a heavier trigger pull. Apparently Kahr could not or would not put a heavier trigger pull on the guns, and the NYPD dropped the guns from the approved list of off duty guns. I obtained this information from a retired member of the NYPD.
