The wood grips are the crowning touch on a beautiful gun.
When it comes to pistols, the best look is always the stainless frame/ wood grip combo in my opinion. Maybe not the most tactical look but the best contrast of color
I agree.
For me, the best looking ones are the ones with glass-like blued finish and walnut wood grip panels.
My Dad just passed. He was a collector, as am I. I discovered this in his collection. Hands down the most expensive pistol he, and now I, have ever owned.
I carry my kahr k9 on duty for executive protection and sometimes for uniformed protection. I have personally put about 10k rounds through it without a single malfunction. It's my most reliable handgun. even the glocks I used to own had at least one malfunction at some point.
carries like a compact and shoots like a full size 9mm. it's the perfect gun for carry here in Cali
So you're the K9 unit? Who let the dogs out! Who, who, who! xD
DumbDuck44 love this reply lmao
@@BoopSnoot 🤣😂🤣😷
How many people have you taken to jail so far for a soul charge of firearm possession or carrying without a permit?
I bought a K9 back in 1995 in an electroless nickel finish. Excellent pistol. Still have it.
Sometimes it seems as if Kahrs are a well kept secret. I've got the K9, PM9 (going on 10 years now) joined by a (used) P9 this year -- love 'em all and they're all great for CCW
The K9 is likely the most underrated practical CCW pistol out there
A truly phenomenal shooter, reliable, durable, well made and nice looking
I carry the CW9, i cant imagine not having it. its a great conceal carry option. and absolutely no problems at all.
Yes I love mine also! Never had 1 problem! Great trigger!!!
same here
Hi there! I'm considering the one you have. Is it comfortable and easy to carry even during the hot summer time? Thank you very much! Take care.
+tim fey it's really a small gun. I was quite surprised by how small it was.
+Gold Thank you very much Gold! I appreciate your answer. I live in a VERY hot desert climate and need a new carry gun that's small (but, not too small) that'll work well in that hostile environment. Thanks to your info, I'm gonna put that gun on my short list of options. Take care!
I love my K9 elite. I've had it for 11 years. It's never failed me. Kinda heavy. But I have never been tempted to trade it off for a Tupperware pistol. Most people struggle with the DAO trigger pull at first, especially if you've came from shooting glocks xd's, M&P's but you will get used to it. Too bad it's a sleeper in the gun market. Deserves more recognition than it gets. Thanks for the video
the kahr k9 was the very first handgun I purchased as soon as I turned 18 and began an obsession into guns that I'm proud to say I'm stuck with today
Pretty gun and exceptional review. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
Thanks Ricky!
I like the really clean external lines of this pistol.
I've had a K9, and cw380 for quite some time. While both are excellent pistols, the K9 is the Cadillac of carry guns. I equipped mine w the wood grips as well, and it's certainly hard to deny its aesthetic beauty. Seriously, just an amazing looking piece of machinery. Not to mention that through over 2,000 rounds in the K9 I've only had 3 malfunctions. (And I know, most will think... In 2,000 rounds how could you ever remember exactly? Well, the only 3 times I didn't fore properly were with the same 50 count box of aluminum ammo - pretty easy to remember that! It's never had so much as a hiccup otherwise!). It was my EDC for years w a crossbread, but have now opted for a lighted carry choice.
I have a K40. Love it. Great gun. I'm having grips custom made in Cherry Burl
This s sucha great looking pistol!!!! You can even see this quality thru screen.
Spot on Sootch00! I own the MK 9 Elite 03. The quality and function is just as you described. Great pistol!
+sootch00 There aren't that many Kahr reviews out there - these handguns tend to be overlooked by many. Good to see this review and I'd like to see you review more of their handguns!
Incidentally, it's cool that they offer all-metal construction with wooden stocks in addition to polymer frame construction in most of their models, to offer the buyer that choice.
Thumbs way up, brother!
I agree 100% on the Quality and Appearance I purchased a K9 Elite a few months back based how beautiful of a firearm it is. Of course a pleasure to shoot.
I was lucky enough to find a Kahr P9 during this rush. The K9 is such a gorgeous machine to aspire to in the future. It truly has a classic American look. Like a handsome little 1911, but changed for simplicity.
Will you be doing anymore videos on Kahrs all steel framed semi autos? I really liked this video.
One of my favourite pistol is always Kahr .
I have 3 Kahrs,all kick ass ! nice job !
I had one of the original Kahr K9s and a buddy of mine had the Kahr 40. This was back in the mid-late '90s. Loved the feel, trigger, and looks of both guns. Alas, both were also jam-o-matics despite several trips back to Worchester. I hope their quality is much better these days, but I'm still hesitant to give them another try.
Nice review. I am a big fan of Kahr. My wife purchased a K9 with nickel finish back in 1997 and she still uses it as her main CCW gun. She also has a stainless K9 as her secondary weapon, and I just purchased a PM9. High quality and the I find the triggers excellent.
Just bought a Kahr MK9 Elite 2003 and will be putting the Hogue Pau Ferro checkered grips on it as well. Can't wait to get it out to the range.
One time I told my wife, "I will be back in a little bit I am going to shoot my Kahr" and my wife said "your gonna shoot what?".On a side note, Sootch00 you should do a 9mm, .40sw, and 45acp comparison video. I would be interested in your opinion on caliber choice.
My K40 Covert is simply a pleasure to fire. Yes, she bucks a little, but in a loving way. I Kahr makes the caliber, then I own it. I'm a big Kahr fan with the TP45 being my favorite. IMO, they have smooooth triggers.
very good option for ccw, great video and music as always, thanks !
Yet again Sootch is rocking some good intro music!
2:26 Back in the early 2000's I believe, Kahr used this slogan/catchphrase in their ads: Handles like a small car, hits like a loaded semi :)
these are surprisingly hefty in weight and REALLY nice in the hand. my buddy has one and i had an older cm9. almost bought a stainless myself a few times. i still want one actually. its gotta be a super soft shooting 9mm
Trucks too lol, funny :-) thanks for the review Scootch00. I agree, that's one beautiful pistol. 🇺🇸
it is very beautiful grip I love the wood grain.
The Kahr pistols unfortunately get lost in the fray due to their polymer P series and budget C series. These original K and T series steel frame pistols are in a class of their own in terms of quality and fit and finish. I've got one of the K9 Elite '03's and it truly is a beautiful gun to shoot. It feels better to me than any Glock I've ever shot. The consistently smooth trigger pull and METAL sights are big upgrades in my opinion. Would be interested to see what a double stack Kahr pistol would be like. Regardless, these steel single stack pistols are great little guns.
Enjoyed this review, Don. I have small hands, and my K9 with standard grips fits beautifully, and points naturally. I believe Kahr recommends that you use the slide release to charge the gun, rather than sling shoting, or riding the slide, which can sometimes cause a failure to feed, with the steep feed ramp of the Kahrs. The extra polishing of your Elite model certainly helps in that regard. It appears a lot more refined than my brushed stainless version.
Havent mentioned the polygonal rifling rather than lands and groves. Increases accuracy and easier to clean. Just like my 357 desert eagle.
that is one good-looking pistol, thanks Sootch
I had a Stainless K-9 beautiful gun fun to shoot. Only reason I sold it was I got tired of pulling my pants back up, at 24 oz unloaded its a bit heavy for every day carry. The idea of that offset barrel lug is to allow a lower bore axis.
Hello Mr. Sootch00. I'm from Canada and do very much enjoy your videos and reviews even though many of the firearms are prohibited here. Just wanted to let you know that you do have a great following here in Canada. Thank you very much Sir.
Love your reviews man! Keep it up!
Another awesome video!
My guns are affordable Sar b6p Taurus tcp 380 Taurus 709 Slim reliable. Only my 1981 Interarms Walther PPKS has beauty.
That Kahr's a nice looking gun. Quality of craftsmanship shows. PS you had strong influence in me buying those three guns this month. The Sar b6p compact CZ clone is my favorite to shoot.
I wish they made a T45 that accepted unmodified 1911 mags 😭
i remember when the k9 came out, it was the it gun at the time for awhile.
The K9 would be my choice for single stack 9mm...if I had to carry one instead of normal service pistol. The trigger does take some getting used to. A lot of getting used to, honestly. But it does work. Very accurate, slightly ammo finicky.
You mentioned Magnum Research... I'd love to buy a BFR in 30-30. Thanks for the review!
Beautiful. Where did you get an Elite 98 now that they are up to the Elite 2003. Wonder if they are going to come out with 2018 Elite or maybe they're waiting for Elite2020. How wide is the grip with the wooden grips over the other. Do you keep it in a leather or index holster for better or lack of wear?
As usually great video. I do drive a new Mustang too, but used to carry G19 or Ruger SR 1911 😉 Three great things!
Love my Kahr. I have a MK9 for edc. Great gun. Would like to see you do a review of the MK9. Keep up the work.
Very classy pistol, I have a black one with night sights.
Love my Kahr T9 and T40 Great Guns
One of my absolute favorite guns (k9) along with the MK9 as well. These are the only guns that compete with Glock as far as quality/reliability and size and overall similarity.
Never got into Kahrs, not a fan of .40 either, but that's one good lookin' pistola
My recoil spring is BEAR when i have to strip my Kahr, but other than that I love how it feels at my side, how it looks and how it shoots. I'm not dressed until I have my Kahr.
And trucks count too..... Ha ha ha. You are too funny Sootch. Thumbs up on the review, love my CW9.
Another excellent review Sir . Thank You .
Great gun, and review man!!
I have hthe black k40. Very accurate and the frecoil is very manageable at 24 oz. But I am sold on the s&w steel guns and always try to hold back when I see one. I own 5 and am done.
It's beautiful with them wood slabs
The Kahr K40 from Smith n Wesson.the Elite98 pistol is an upgrade from K9/K40.its a Double action only. 27+ OZ. it makes shooting really a pleasure.
S&W??
Sweet. I really want those grips now lol
Very nice video. At the beginning he says the first guns made by Kahr was the K0. That is not true, their first gun was the E9, then the K series came later. I know, I have an E9. Great video, I enjoyed it and thanks!
I've carried a Kahr CM-40 for years now. Love it. True little pocket rocket.
gorgeous piece
You mentioned in your vid that the slide was "9.4 inches" Would that be width or length as you did not specify? LOL! JK Sootch. Did get a kick out of that tho....keep up the great work and maybe that part should have made it into the "bloopers!"
My freind has a new kahr45. Ejection problems, maybe not broke in yet, perty firearm,,,,thanks cowboy
As always, GREAT REVIEW!!
5:43 "The slide is about 9.4 inches" haha that's a very wide pistol you have there Mr. Sootch! Great videos. I'm not a troll, I just enjoy a laugh every so often. I do appreciate the detail you put in to your videos. You are very knowledgeable , and it's evident in all of your videos. I understand that not all mistakes can be caught during editing. I know you meant .94 inches. Guess I just needed a reason to thank you for your contribution to the gun video world here on RUclips.
Side questions, have you any experience with the Sig Sauer P229 Enhanced Elite?
looks like a mini Sig Sauer; very cool pistol!
What an elegant design! That would really make an ideal CC piece. Too bad there are no .357 Sig barrels out there for it!
Awesome looking pistol and review! Then again, you've never made a bad video! ☺ I appreciate you too cause you're a CHRISTIAN CONSERVATIVE like myself. God bless you and please keep putting out your informative, classy videos! Take good care and may the good Lord continue to bless you and yours! Sincerely!
Very nice firearm. I shoot pistols left handed, and I actually prefer the mag release being on the left side of the gun. I have small hands so it's just easier for me to use my middle finger of my left to release the magazine, rather than using my thumb.
Beautiful gun KAHR makes a quilty gun
Way to handle that recoil sir! I'd say that .40 is a great match for that smaller frame.
Update. Took it my new k9 to the range today, 20 rounds in, the ejector assembly flew out of theslide and hit my hand, severly bruising it and powder burning me. This explained the fail to eject /stovepipes during the first session. Sent back for warranty repair. Will update as events progress.
Great video as always.....nice gun
Love mine. Great review 100%
My xds mod 2 has the same capacity, half the weight, half the thickness and shorter. A true pocket rocket.
Unfortunately it'll never be as pretty as this gun lol
I like that little Kahr pistol never heard of the manufacturer. Love the wood handle. Great review man.
Have a k9 elite03, been reliable since day one. Only thing i hate about it is the take down!!!!!!
Sootch, let's see some PPQ45!
He has already done the PPQ!
I bet the 9mm version of this pistol would also be a great gun for people who like that cartridge.
Great video!!!
I'd like to see your thoughts on a Browning BL22.
The best .22 lever gun available I believe!!!
Excellent !!
nice looking piece!!!
very cool review!
My CW380 has been nothing but trouble, 400 hundred rounds in, every 50 rounds was a different ammo, been to the factory. Cannot get the thing to run...
Loved that joke hahaha I shot many "khars" trucks count as well. Was it pricy fixing those holes?
It is NOT double action only. It is striker fired. Regardless of trigger pull length.
That is one nice pistol brother
I have a T9 Elite. Absolutely love it.
Fantastic
Good looking gun! I need to find a friend with one so I can go shoot it :)
'...and trucks too..." You crack me up, Sootch. Very nice review, I think I may get a 40 S&W pistol sooner or later. I love my CW9. Thanks.
That is one sweet mamajama!
From a born and raised Masshole----"Wiss-ter" = Worchester
Born and raised in Worcester here. Wistah.
More like Wusstah... Another Masshole born and raised here.
HAHAHAHA no one from Mass can even agree on how the hell you say it!!! Too funny
lmao
Mrgunsngear Channel Really?! I'm from Abington-Quincy. Where were you from?
Kahr and CZ are my fav handguns, in rule of law... but if the Apocalypse hit I'll take the extra round in a Glock and a Katana... hey but enough about me !
very slick
The only thing i hate about my khar is the trigger pull
The trigger pull is the best feature of Kahrs. What are you talking about?
K9 Elite is as awesome pistol.
freakin awesome
