I agree, i’d take Bobby over him. Been a big fan of his since the Growler days. But McMann isn’t a super young guy, he’s 28. It’s kinda Go-Time for him now, can’t be knocking on the door of 30 years old and not have had at least one solid year in the NHL.
@@aggrorooTHANK YOU. they keep calling him young…28 really isn’t that young in the NHL. Not everyone is guaranteed they’ll play into their late 30s. I’m torn on it, I don’t despise Pacioretty by any means, & McMann didn’t have a superb pre season…but he should be in the lineup. Get him NHL games.

He sits because he got beat out for a spot. It's the NHL not pee wee. He's on the team...It's a long year. He'll work himself back into the lineup. For now, he's worked himself out of it.

It’s obvious that McMann and Patches and Robertson are gonna be playing musical chairs, that’s really good by me. Three very different players depending on the night. Granted, all three are injury prone and how long before Nicky Bobby gets blown up in the corners? I’d be surprised if Reavo plays 82 so we’ll see who gets the call there. Lorentz is an excellent grab, and grinning fourth liner, like, duh. Willy, centre? I dunno, doesn’t feel like it’s right, and it’s obviously not good for his head to play around with it. I believe Tre is gonna be on the hunt for a centre and looking at Tavares very differently. The only thing there is Max and Willy can fly while JT stumbles following up. Overall, this is an exciting year, best defence in a long time, not just the players but team mindset.

McMann had plenty of opportunities to make the opening nigh roster. It's the NHL, not pee wee. Gotta win your spot. It's a long, 82 game season. Plenty of opportunities for him to work his way back into the lineup.

Kane's average TOI last season: 15:16 Tavares' average TOI last season: 14:46 Tarasenko's average TOI last season: 13:23 Domi's average TOI last season: 12:29 Fingers crossed that the Leafs figure out how to get them into a 3rd line role, but I'd still take Kane and Tarasenko in my top 6 versus Tavares & Domi, or whoever you want to swap them with from Toronto's bottom 6...
@@Commander_McFluffypaws not name but role. Detroit rolls 4 lines evenly and Taresenko was a depth guy in Florida and didn’t do much in Ottawa without a supporting cast. I’d take Kane over Tavares and Tarasenko over Domi. But neither over Matthews, Nylander or Marner, the legit top 6 players on the Leafs.
@@gordonbgraham I'm in total agreement with you about the depth of the Wings, however the question wasn't about Kane and Tarasenko being the best players on the team. I certainly wouldn't take either of them over Larkin, Debrincat or Raymond. I'm also kind of bullish on Andrew Copp, Jonnatan Berggren and Joe Veleno being able to move up (filling in for injuries most likely). I wouldn't necessarily take one of them over Pat and Vlad, but Berggren is probably the closest to usurping one of them, very comparable to the potential of Robertson.

And because of the Leafs cap situation they were forced to put players on ltir and now they cannot acquire ANY cap space this year, meaning they will have no ability to add a player at the deadline. Great move 👍👏👌😂
As someone who watched a lot of patches last year, patches is not a viable bottom 6 option and lacks the scoring to play him in the top 6. Pretty shocking he's seen as a lock for the leafs.

Neither Tavares nor Domi are the marquis players on their lines, they're the grunts...and both are in flux in terms of being 3rd liners
