For those that don’t know, the real reason a classroom might have a “litter box” (a gallon bucket filled with cat litter) is because of school shooters. It’s there in case a child needs to use the bathroom at a time when it is unsafe to go to the actual bathroom.
The presence of these buckets should make you upset, but not because of kids identifying as cats. They should make you upset because they’re a symbol of how our country treats machines and money with more importance than they treat human lives.
@@WhªtTheScªllœp This is what I thought of too. All my science classrooms had one in high school because nothing we worked with needed to be neutralized but some of it shouldn't be touched for long periods of time, so litter made cleanup safe and fast.
And they should have a problem with how we as a society are okay with school shootings in general and just treat it like a fact of life and then gets surprised when the younger generations are sensitive and/or quick to violent mentalities. It's not healthy what environment we let our kids grow through.

today I accidentally got myself into a debate with my stepmom who has some rather questionable views on palestine, saying that what’s happening is not even remotely close to a genocide, Israel’s policy is only kinda bad but the attacks are necessary, and that everything they’re doing is self defense with the accidental killing of some civilians. I’m trying to talk to my parents more about Palestine, especially since the news my mom watches portrays the protestors very negatively and it’s making me mad. Had a medical scare this week, for the 5th time I had pain in my torso so bad I was actually writhing. No idea what causes it, the hospital couldn’t figure it out (finally went this time). It usually happens at night while I am asleep. And, this time I am still very weak and been recovering for days, which is not normal.
So, not sure what it is, but I hope to have answers soon. 💚 Been playing Skyrim and crocheting to relax.

How do you... keep watching all the pain and stuff in the world? Like, you're surrounded by people who don't care, and you've consciously realised that your trauma (and possible neurodivergence) affects everything about you so watching the stuff either leads to a spiral or a desensitisation (on all fronts of life, funny enough😀). How do you continue? Because, at this point, I'm taking a break (tryna... better myself, so heal from my trauma, I guess) but the whole 'You can't look away', 'Think of the people of [insert country with ongoing genocide/mass death]', 'You a bad for looking away' (even though it's killing me to continue to look... but I guess it's killing me to look away too), 'Do something' (I'm scared because of soooo many things), and then just pile in more of the same shit and repeat. Gosh people, when I think about anything, like, *really* think about anything in particular, I feel horrible... _but people are still dying, and I can't get better fast enough_ 😀
Here is what you do. You look at it all. And then you realize. Well, I can't do shit about it, no reason wasting my energy on it. All the pain and suffering in the world, it will always exist. So I don't see why I should expend my energies to help other people who would not help me.
Or, well. That's how they think.

Mmm I can't really have that outlook. There are too many variables to take care of (like, how do I know they won't help me directly? How do I know they won't help someone that will make something that will help me? What's the criteria for deciding if something will help me or not? What's the time line to decide if it's worth it? What is worth it?). There's also, by my definition, a lack of empathy in this, and when I stop feeling empathy towards others, I start to struggle feeling it towards myself... and so I then let the world burn in its bright fires, but I rot in the dark waters.
I can see how that could work for you though. Unfortunately, the work I'm trying to do for myself (and therefore, others) is to make it such that the external systems do more heavy lifting (not *the* heavy lifting, but just a lot more than it's doing right now), so that my internal systems (not DID, just general coping mechanisms whether it is thought processes, affirmations... _✨️whatever✨️_ ) don't have to go into overdrive just to keep me close to the baseline (I feel like I am rarely over it🥲).
I don’t really know. By the time I was 8 or 9 I realized that there’s always something, and that the elite start wars because they don’t have to fight them.

My mental health is just constantly getting worse rn. My dysphoria and related dissociation is getting worse every day and I just ... I don't know how I'm gonna survive the next years.
My parents don't want me to go on t because they're "afraid I will regret it" and they pretend to care about me, but honestly I'm again starting to think they actually don't care about me at all.
I mean I told them just how bad my dysphoria is, but I don't think they'll actually change their minds on hrt unless I do something really drastically.
Like on some days I'm just thinking about running away or h*rting myself in ways that leave scars (both for drawing attention to the fact that I desperately need help and because I just hate my body). Some days I even think about "faking" a sewerside attempt so I miiight get help.
And despite passionatly despising smoking, I'm again thinking about starting to smoke, just so I might get a more raspy/deeper voice.
I've had dysphoria and dissociation for at least five years now, but in the past months it's gotten much worse very quickly, so that I could clearly notice the differences, despite having shit memory. How am I supposed to graduate from highschool like that, when even know I can barely speak in classes? /rh
I don't know if I can bare wasting yet another two years doing nothing but dissociating and trying not h*rt myself too much.
I'm really scared I'll do something really really stupid. The thing is, I know that the moments where I loose control over myself and h*rt myself, my surroundings or others are getting much more frequent and I'm so scared that one day I'll just completely loose control without recognising.

The story continued (it doesn’t have a name yet but I’m thinking of calling it The Dugout) CW 🩸 and 🎻ce again and 🔫
Wilhelm continued to comfort Albert as Kris was still kicking and cursing on the ground. About fifteen minutes later I heard footsteps from multiple people.
“Over here!”
I heard the captain say. Two medics knelt down beside Kris. “Nein! Not that low-life! Let him suffer. There’s a wounded man in the dugout!”
The medics looked at the captain with puzzled expressions. The medics crawled into the dugout as Wilhelm tried his best to flush Albert’s wounds with the water from his canteen.
“Back up” I heard one of the medics say to Wilhelm.
“Please don’t let him die” Wilhelm begged.
“I can’t make any promises. Some of the shrapnel appears to be embedded in his skull.”
“I understand. But please, try your best.”
“We’ll do what we can.”
By this point Albert was drifting in and out of consciousness. The medics wrapped his head in bandages and loaded him onto a stretcher. Wilhelm gave Albert’s hand a squeeze before the medics carried him off.
“Should we come back for the man outside?” One of the medics asked.
“Nein!” The captain answered. “And if anyone asks about it tell them it was a direct order from Captain Müller. He should be alright. He uhh… bumped his head. He’s just a little foggy is all.”
Wilhelm tried to hold back tears as the medics hauled Albert away. This is the first time in the whole war that he’s had to witness suffering like this. He’s seen men blown to pieces, but their deaths were instant. No agony. No suffering. Wilhelm is a very mild and gentle person. He spends most of his time hunkered down somewhere in an attempt to avoid participating in the battle. He certainly has his strengths, but he isn’t fit for the trenches. He’s too poetic of an individual to handle this way of life. He’s never even fired his rifle except during our training. He would be much better off caring for the cavalry’s horses. He’s always had a way with animals. Wilhelm’s presence is soothing to animals, just as their presence is soothing to him. A small moth flew into our dugout. The light from the lantern must’ve drawn it in. The moth landed on Wilhelm, which is exactly what I expected it to do. Even insects like him. Wilhelm smiled as he watched the moth climb up his arm. That moth was a blessing. He needed something to take his mind off of Albert.
About an hour later Kris came back to his senses. He looked at Wilhelm and I.
“Günter! What did you do? I know it wasn’t Wilhelm because he’s too dainty to pull anything like this off!” Kris hollered.
“Wasn’t me. You were struck from behind with the butt of a rifle. Do you remember anything before getting hit?” I asked.
“Nä, last I recall I was pestering you worms about your sardines. Everything else is a blur. What happened?”
“Another soldier was running past as you were climbing into the dugout and his rifle struck you in the back of your head. It was accidental.” I lied.
“Oh okay. These things just happen I guess.”
That was the most reasonable sentence I had ever heard come from Kris’s mouth. Maybe having his skull rattled by Captain Müller fixed whatever was making him so cruel and inhumane. Kris climbed into our dugout.
“What’s he doing in our dugout?” Wilhelm asked.
“You two act like you own this trench.” Kris said as he sneered at Wilhelm.
Wilhelm ignored Kris and continued to watch the little moth that was on his arm. Kris grew visibly frustrated. Just then a loud bang echoed outside. The earth shook.
“Mortar!” A voice from outside shouted.
If there’s one thing I hate more than Kris it’s mortars. Men were shouting and running around outside. Kris peeked his head out to watch the commotion. Wilhelm started crying again.
“Shut up, you big dumb baby! Crying is the only thing you’re good at!” Kris yelled.
I was wrong. Kris was still just as mean as ever. The sound of wounded and dying horses could be heard in the distance. Kris laughed as the poor animals screamed. The sounds of the horses distressed Wilhelm even more. I can tell that none of us are going to be sleeping tonight.
