You can find someone aesthetically attractive (“you’re nice to look at”) and not find them sexually attractive. They aren’t the same.
I say this because I’ve met so many people (most with ocd) who will find someone aesthetically pleasing and then assume that means they’re attracted to them, and immediately become disgusted with themselves because the person is too young, related to them, etc.
You can just think someone looks cool. Doesn’t mean you’re into them. They just look cool.

In what universe is cooking a non-feminist-only skill? I'm a feminist, and I'm pretty darn good at cooking if I do say so myself. I bake all my own bread, I make my own chicken stock, I can make candy like fudge, I can make puddings from scratch. I can take pretty much any food that's about to go bad in my kitchen and turn it into a tasty meal.
I'm guessing that most non-feminist men aren't good cooks. I don't need a woman to cook for me- I'm an independent man, I can do my own domestic tasks!

exactly! adding onto this, cooking for yourself is an important part of being self-sufficient, and being able to support yourself is part of feminism (for both men and women). it's an important skill to have if you're able to learn :3

I still struggle with cooking but I’m learning and doing my best. But when I was it’s my ex who also couldn’t cook I was the one who people shamed, asking how I’d gone so long without cooking, how I didn’t know how to use an oven, making fun that I die without my mum since I couldn’t cook. My ex at tough, no one said a word to him because “he had time to learn” or “his wife would do it” (that was his grandparents) that’s when it dawned on both me and him how different people treated us based on our gender. We broke up but still remain friends, he helped me be better and solve my toxic traits and vice versa for him.

In elementary school, I was pinned to the floor by my principal for having meltdowns. It didn't teach me how to regulate my emotions better. It only taught me that my principal will occasionally commit acts of physical violence. It probably also contributed to my self-hatred.

I always had this sentiment that i would feed the homeless and pick up litter in public when I got older. Like i was kinda confused why people wouldnt pick up trash or give money to homeless people and i wished to do it so bad but I was to little do to anything. yeah, I'm not too loudmouthed about my beliefs for this reason. there is a science, or maybe more accurately an art, to radicalizing people and my ability to perform it has been poisoned by the fact that I basically grew up online, where everyone is their worst self 9 times out of 10
yeah, same. a lot of my friends are very liberal and just.. don't really care about things as much. they support cringe culture (they're literally part of the "bring bullying back" thing), they look at me sideways any time i bring up socialism or anarchism, and they look down on a lot of my interests. i still enjoy being around em cause i've known them for years and we have a pretty tight-knit friend group but i've taken to avoiding the subject of politics whenever it comes up. building community is hard :/
I feel your pain. I was completely excluded in high school because people assumed what my opinions were and instead of talking to me to change my mind or even check if they were right, just decided to make me their black sheep. After that experience I'm still having trouble connecting to people, I feel like any tiny thing I do could suddenly reveal to them that I was supposed to be isolated and punished all along, and then they'll leave. I know someone has to go first with expressing opinions or that likeminded people will never find each other, but it's so terrifying for both practical concerns and my prior experience.

Scholars cant really agree on what the word originally means but it actually has nothing to do with height or stature.
Dwarves as mythical being first show up in norse/germanic mythology, and they dont get much of a detailed description of how they look - if they are big or small, human looking - its not even 100% clear if they have a physical body.
Chances are they were seen as invisible, spiritual creatures in old norse/germanic religion.
Im struggling to refind my sources on this, but I remember reading somewhere that the germanic feminine for dwergaz, "dyrgja", is somewhat translateable as "hole/opening in the ground, hole in a mountain or a hill/mound.
Several names of dwarves in norse mythology also seems vaugely related to death the dead.
The depiction of dwarves as specifically human looking and abnormally short is a later thing that came with fairytales and fantasy.

13:39 Okay, the thing about Greek life is that as a black person I would not join one as a lot of them are either not inclusive or are racist. I cant just "go to a sorority/fraternities" as a lot of them do not accept POC or we feel like they dont want us/theyre going to be racist because they have no POC in their sororities/fraternities. A lot of them also just flat out dont accept black people or alienate us while we're there. I get the sentiment but its not that I just "dont want community" its that these spaces are unwelcoming in the first place.
i agree with you completely, but i don't think the creator was arguing that leftists should join churches or sororities/fraternities. there are completely valid reasons for not wanting to participate in them (i literally wouldn't be caught dead in a frat house), but the problem arises when people don't create alternatives that are safe for POC, queer people, disabled people, etc. they were saying that we need to create new spaces to replace the ones we've distanced ourselves from :3
That sort of racial insecurity can make you miss out on a lot of opportunity though. I worry what people will assume of me because of my race, and I've opted out of activities/groups solely out of that uncertainty. I'm trying to face that fear more and break the mold when I can now, it's hard but I have to hope it will better me and those that come after me.
@namipatroski It can, but it's not like it has no merit. I'd rather miss out on Greek life (I've never even been interested in it) and go have a more accepting form of community, like DND or a club of some sorts, than go somewhere where I have a higher chance of being discriminated. I don't think it's worth it for me at least.

So uh basically ive been struggling alot with system denial recently. And like i know everyone is here and real but i have a hard time seeing myself specifically as a separate being. It feels like i am just constantly a fracture and only am a real person when someone is fronting with me. I dont know who i am when im alone. I cant leave front i barely can see innerworld. Im always seeing through the bodies eyes never being able to leave. I dont feel real when its just me. And then when im with someone else i question if i am even a real person still but in a different way. Only being able to exist when connected to someone else. It isnt even connected to one person its in general. Any 1 person can be fronting and the same thing happens. I wish it would stop. I wish i could feel like a separate being and see innerworld and leave and be able to feel separate. -Koi

I always just felt like a bystander, watching and sometimes moving or making a few decisions here and there but otherwise I don‘t even know who I am nor if my interests are even my interests or if I even have an actual personality apart from those which co-front with me. Like I am just.. the body, I guess. Nothing more. Just a little puzzle peace to complete someone else‘s.

about mental health: got into therapy, got taken out of it because our at the time undiagnosed (in the process of diagnosis currently) DID was a legal liability, saw a psychiatrist and got two diagnosis, and have to see a neurologist. hoping to get back into therapy soon.
celebrated 1 year with my fiance, shes so perfect i love her more than anything. also celebrated a year with my queer platonic partner.
got two foster siblings!
grades are struggling a bit, i'm scared but im trying my best.
cut my hair and finally got clothes i liked!

going to spemnd the summer away at someone's house and doing online college courses.

sometimes i feel like i have to pretend to have gender dysphoria for people to see me as valid. i understand non dysphoric trans people exist but its about species dysphoria. people dont even think its real. i have to (incorrectly) attribute wanting long hair or stuff about my genitals or wanting to wear makeup to gender dysphoria to be seen as valid and it's so tiring i want to live in a world where im taken seriously so bad

@@namipatroski they’re a pretty aggressive person, but I didn’t find it to impact our relationship much until recently. We’ve had a lot of ups and downs these past few months, and I think it’s made them constantly on edge. I feel like I’m kind of walking on egg-shells around them. If I don’t react to something how they want me to, or if I don’t do something they expect of me immediately they’ll instantly blow up on me. Im always met with anger instead of having an actual conversation. They don’t really listen to how I feel and they get angry when I communicate things to them. Im not perfect, I mess up a lot. though I feel like my feelings are not met with the same amount of effort and understanding as I try to give them. It’s really hard for them to admit when they are wrong. I’ve talked to them about it multiple times, and how it affects me, but they really aren’t taking any steps to fix it. It hurts really, I only really want them to respect my feelings. I don’t want to be yelled at anymore
@@WxngedMoth While you should have set boundaries the second they started directing their aggression towards you, they should have never treated you that way in the first place. You can't teach empathy, and giving them an ultimatum will be a short term solution at best. I'm a random idiot on the internet with little to no context, but I say dump them and try to find a naturally healthy relationship.

And I think that only further validated their excessive anger when it came to arguments, I never expected them to say sorry. I have a question from the video yesterday. I remember in the one of the videos yesterday was talking about how most leftists were pro-gun. I’ve grown up being very anti-gun my whole life and have never thought about it before since I was taught they were just dangerous tools of violence. And since I’m still in school there always a huge threat of schooling shootings. What does a world with everyone having a gun with self-defense look like? Would classes be available to learn how to use the gun? Would there be an age limit to owning a gun? Are there other things to help make gun practice safer? I was just feeling really conflicted about this point yesterday and couldn’t think of a scenario of what it would look like /gen.
Where I live everyone has guns, myself included, and shootings are extremely rare. Kids here are taught firearm safety from an early age. Children can’t own guns but they can legally shoot them under adult supervision. Felons cannot legally own firearms.

i didnt watch that video, but i know many leftists are pro-gun because they believe the people should have a right to defend themselves against a tyrannical government. i do think there should be a better vetting system in place for who is able to purchase a gun or not, and automatic weapons shouldnt be available for sale. honestly, i think white supremacy is a big part of the problem of gun violence in America as well, and something that should be addressed along with gun safety.

For me I found community in the LARP hobby. it's kind of like dnd but there isn't a single company that has monopoly (a lot games are original) and we actually dress up in costumes and run around with foam swords fighting each other in a field. very fun. highly recommennd.

10:00 This feels so relevant right now and advice would really be appreciated on how to convince someone that corporal punishment is wrong... I just heard my sister in law make an offhand comment about how a kid she babysits must not be getting spanked enough at home because he consistently misbehaves. I had no idea what to even say. If the kid is old enough to understand why what they did is wrong, explain it. If the kid isn't old enough to understand why what they did is wrong, then they won't know why they're being hit. If they're older and understand what is wrong but don't care, hitting them will at BEST temporarily obtain obedience through fear, but it will teach them the lesson that they were right to not care what is right or wrong, because clearly only power matters. I watched my friends grow up being beaten and one of them threatened his mom with a knife one day, after which the beatings stopped because she was now the one controlled by fear. Who wants to teach their children that physical power and threats are the only way to make others behave morally?
I am still in a weak position in my family and not yet fully independent despite my age (thanks disability) but want to say something. I know that nobody in my family cares about my opinions so I'm not sure how to start this conversation, advice would be appreicated. Also of relevance, she and my brother (her husband) are devout Christians so I know this is coming from some Bible passage about beating being a necessary form of love. I'm not sure if there's anything I can talk about with regards to the Biblical argument, since I'm not Christian myself. I just want to protect their kids, who knows how many more months their baby has before they consider spanking an acceptable punishment...
